  • Getting specific values with regex [JAVA, ANDROID]

    I need to knowingly isolate each row of the vcard and get its value. For instance, I want to get "5555" from X-CUSTOMFIELD. So far, my thoughts are: "X-CUSTOMFIELD;\d+" I have been looking at some tutorials and I am a little confused with what function to use? What would my regex above return? Would it give me the whole line or just the numerical part (5555)? I was thinking I i get the whole row, I can use substring to get the digits?   • When is the onPreExecute called on an AsyncTask running parallely or concurrently?

    I am using Android HoneyComb.I need to execute some tasks parallely and I am using AsyncTask's public final AsyncTask executeOnExecutor (Executor exec, Params... params) method.In each separate thread I am computing some values and I need to store then in an ArrayList.I must then sort all the values in the arrayList and then display it in the UI.Now my question is if one of the thread gets completed earlier than the other then will it immediately call the onPostExecute method or onPostExecute method will be called after all the background threads have been completed?MY program implementation depends on what occurs here.

  • Get location of object when animation is complete in android

    Is there a way to find out the final location of my animated "object" after the animation? Let's say I am animating an ImageView with location in parent as (0,0 - 20,20) using TranslateAnimation and ScaleAnimation over 1 second with setFillAfter(true). How to I find the final location of this "object" (since the View location itself does not move)? I need to continue the animation from this point based on an user input.

    My trouble is: when i get new data, my viewpager that use my custom adapter do not update view. I discovered that many programmer got same bug, so i tried a lot of suggestion but no way works for me. So tired.     I don't know if it's very clear, but i'm trying to do something when the "next" (bottom right corner of the keyboard) is pressed, and i can't find its keycode. I have tried to look for "next" or "enter" in the keycodes but nothing really relevant... does anyone know? (actually, i've found the enter keycode to be precise, but it does not do anything)

    I have a database with which I wish to expose data with a ContentProvider. However, it is important that all the colums are not exposed, and also they should be renamed. Is there any good way of doing this? I was thinking maybe some kind of proxy-cursor which takes a cursor and translates its columns to the desired ones, and calls to close and the like would just be replayed to the original cursor. Does something like this exist, or would it be hard to make?

    Hey all, what would be best practice for clipping the bottom borders of a Bitmap? Just manipulate the Bitmap itself or overlay an alpha mask drawable or ...? The whole story: I've a Listview which looks like the iPhone's grouped UITableView style. I would like to display a Bitmap in the last row, but for now the Bitmap overlaps my custom background drawable of the Listview cell. Thx in advance!

  • android playback suddenly stopping...

    I have an app that is streaming audio content and sometimes it just stops all of the suddent. the logcat windows shows -- AudioHardware pcm playback is going to standby and that's it. I saw on another thread (pun intended) that someone was saying it was because he was using too many threads. Could that really be causing this? Could i give the audio thread higher priority? Anyway to prevent the audio hardware pcm from going to standby?

    After many houres of bug searching in a big app, I have finally tracked down the bug. This logging captures the problem: Log.d(TAG,"buildList, DBresult.getInt(1): "+DBresult.getInt(1)); Log.d(TAG,"buildList, DBresult.getString(1): "+DBresult.getString(1)); Log.d(TAG,"buildList, DBresult.getInt(4): "+DBresult.getInt(4)); Log.d(TAG,"buildList, DBresult.getString(4): "+DBresult.getString(4)); The resulting output: 05-06 11:11:20.123: DEBUG/TodoList(18943): buildList, DBresult.getInt(1): 0 05-06 11:11:20.123: DEBUG/TodoList(18943): buildList, DBresult.getString(1): false 05-06 11:11:20.123: DEBUG/TodoList(18943): buildList, DBresult.getInt(4): 0 05-06 11:11:20.123: DEBUG/TodoList(18943): buildList, DBresult.getString(4): true There are no backgroung threads running. As you can see the problem is that '0' is interpreted as false on one occasion, and as true on another. Since I am completely lost on how this can happen, I dont know how to proceed. What could possibly result in such a behaviour? Both the columns are of the type "boolean", i.e a numeric in sqlite. Unfortunately the string returned is the correct value, while the integer is always 0. If I export the database to my computer and check it with SQlite Administrator I can see that the values are correctly set, it is only the getInt()-function that always returns 0. I know for a fact that this works in other apps I have coded, and I dont know why this has stopped working. I have tried compiling the code under 2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.1, and it always appears. I can make my app runnable again by getting boolean values like this: myBool= (DBresult.getString(0).equals("true")); but that is both ugly and not optimized. Any suggestions on what is causing this behaviour is welcome. Cheers,
