    I have used many of the Convert.To..... functions for conversion , but I didn't understand one thing that for every datatype they have provide a Convert.To function but not for float datatype, in order to convert to float you need to use Convert.ToSingle() , why is this so ?

  • How to relink existing shared library with extra object file

    I have existing Linux shared object file (shared library) which has been stripped. I want to produce a new version of the library with some additional functions included. I had hoped that something like the following would work, but does not: ld -o newlib.so newfuncs.o --whole-archive existinglib.so I do not have the source to the existing library. I could get it but getting a full build environment with the necessary dependencies in place would be a lot of effort for what seems like a simple problem.

  • IIS6 site using integrated authentication (NTLM) fails when accessed with Win7 / IE8

    Hi, I'm having pretty similar problems as described in case 139099, but the fix there doesn't seem to work for me. Here's the details: Server: Win2003Srv R2 SP2 (stadalone, not a member of a domain). IIS6, TCP/443 (https). Anonymous access disabled. Integrated Windows authentication enabled. Local useraccouts Each useraccount has own virtual folder with change access and read access to site root. The 'adsutil NTAuthenticationProviders "NTLM"' -thing set to site root and useraccount's virtual folder. Client: Win7 Enterprise Member of a AD-Domain IE8 Allows three login attepts then fails. Using [webservername][username] in the logon window (Windows security) Logon using other browsers (Chrome and Firefox) works OK. The Web services log shows one 401.2 and two 401.1 events. The Security Event log shows two events, first is Fauilure Audit (680), The second event is Fauilure Audit (529) with these details: Logon Failure: Reason: Unknown user name or bad password User Name: [username] Domain: [webservername] Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: NtLmSsp Authentication Package: NTLM Workstation Name: [MyWorkstation] Caller User Name: - Caller Domain: - Caller Logon ID: - Caller Process ID: - Transited Services: - Source Network Address: [999.999.999.999] Source Port: 20089 Any ideas appreciated.

  • Is it more efficient (Performance) to store the CFC in application variables OR instance the CFC on the page call?

    Hello, I'm working on a ColdFusion dynamic website. For this website, there are a lot of CFCs and a lot of functions within each CFC. Would it be more efficient to store an instance of the CFC in an application variable, then to instance each CFC separately on each page load. For each page, at most 2 separate CFCs get called. I'm also interested in how performance will be effected when requests increase (Stress). Thanks!

    I wrote my Win32 App to test and debug. I've created a datamodule with all functionality needed to run the TCP sockets and IBDatabase components. After successfully testing the Datamodule in the Win32 application environment I am trying to hook the Datamodule into a Service Application template that I created, I can get nowhere in getting it to run. Could someone indicate whether this strategy of using a Datamodule with Component functionality encapsulating the primary service functions is workable and give a simple template example of how to hook it up if it is??

    I have this code that saves a pdf file. FileStream fs = new FileStream(SaveLocation, FileMode.Create); fs.Write(result.DocumentBytes, 0, result.DocumentBytes.Length); fs.Flush(); fs.Close(); It works fine. However sometimes it does not release the lock right away and that causes file locking exceptions with functions run after this one run. Is there a ideal way to release the file lock right after the fs.Close()

    We manage a server that is hosted on Amazon EC2, which has web applications that need to be able to send outgoing email. Recently we received a notice from Amazon about possible email abuse on that server, so i've been looking into it. It's Windows Server Datacenter (2003, i guess), and uses SMTP Virtual Server (you know, the one that requires IIS 6 for admin). The settings on the Access tab are as follows: - Authentication: Anonymous - Connection: Only from 3 ip addresses (127.0.0.1 and 2 others that refer to that server) - Relay: Only from 3 ip addresses (127.0.0.1 and 2 others that refer to that server) In the SMTP logs there are many entries like the following: 2012-02-08 23:43:56 64.76.125.151 OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 FROM: 0 0 4 0 26364 SMTP - - - - 2012-02-08 23:43:56 64.76.125.151 OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 250+ok 0 0 6 0 26536 SMTP - - - - 2012-02-08 23:43:56 64.76.125.151 OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 TO: 0 0 4 0 26536 SMTP - - - - 2012-02-08 23:43:56 64.76.125.151 OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 250+ok 0 0 6 0 26707 SMTP - - - - ([email protected] is sending quite a lot of emails :-/) Can anyone confirm if the SMTP server settings seem correct?     when I attempt to goto any page in my web application (i'm migrating the code from an asp.net web site to web application, and now testing it) .. i keep getting some not authenticated error(s) . So, i've turned on FREB and this is what it says... I'm not sure what that means? Secondly, i've also made sure that my site (or at least the default document which has been setup to be default.aspx) has anonymous on and the rest off.     I dont use google maps much, but I was using it today and I clicked the "Show my location" button for the first time, then firefox asked for permission and I clicked "share my location", google maps showed my location pretty accurate. But, how does this system really works? I mean how can google know where I live? I am connecting to the internet with a VPN, so my "public IP" is not from my country, but from sweden, also I use linux and I change the mac of my wireless device, but google still show my location. I know I can disable this feature setting firefox about:config geo.enabled to false, but I am curious about how google can know where I live even when I dont have a real mac address and my IP is not from my real country. Basically I'd like to know if this feature works only because of code that exists in chrome and firefox (which spies my system)? I am worried about anyone knowing where I live, I mean... where is my privacy? Part of the fun about the internet is remaining anonymous.

The use I have in mind is what I suspect is a pretty typical workflow—generating a header using wsdl2h, consuming the header with soapcpp2, and then calling the functions generated in the stub in my code. I'm not 100 percent sure which license(s) I need to use to be able to do this. Has anybody here already gone through this and figured out the solution?

    How can I search a dynamic array of char in Delphi 6 for a sub-string and get back an index to a match, not a pointer? I've seen functions in Delphi 6 that do this for strings but not for dynamic char arrays. There is a function called SearchBuf but that function returns a PChar pointer to the match location when what I need is the array index of the match. Thanks.
