  • how to write floating value accurately to a bin file.

    - by user319873
Hi I am trying to dump the floating point values from my program to a bin file. Since I can't use any stdlib function, I am thinking of writting it char by char to a big char array which I am dumping in my test application to a file. It's like float a=3132.000001; I will be dumping this to a char array in 4 bytes. Code example would be:- if((a < 1.0) && (a > 1.0) || (a > -1.0 && a < 0.0)) a = a*1000000 // 6 bit fraction part. Can you please help me writting this in a better way.

  • How can I speed up line by line reading of an ASCII file? (C++)

    - by Jon
Here's a bit of code that is a considerable bottleneck after doing some measuring: //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- // Construct dictionary hash set from dictionary file //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- void constructDictionary(unordered_set<string> &dict) { ifstream wordListFile; wordListFile.open("dictionary.txt"); string word; while( wordListFile >> word ) { if( !word.empty() ) { dict.insert(word); } } wordListFile.close(); } I'm reading in ~200,000 words and this takes about 240 ms on my machine. Is the use of ifstream here efficient? Can I do better? I'm reading about mmap() implementations but I'm not understanding them 100%. The input file is simply text strings with *nix line terminations.

  • How to specify a password on the command line of an SSIS package run

    - by Vaccano
I am having an issue where I need to be able to specify the password when I run my packages. This article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918760 says: Method 3: Set the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword Change the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword. This setting uses a password for encryption. You can then modify the SQL Server Agent job step command line to include this password. That all sounds well and good. But where and how to you specify the password? Here is an example of my current command line: /FILE "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Packages \MainSSISPackage.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "C:\Program Files \Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Packages\DataConfig.dtsConfig" /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E

  • Using PowerShell class to invoke a "[namespace.class]::method" style command

    - by Marco
Hello, I created a powershell object via .net to invoke commands. When I invoke normal commands like 'Get-Process' I had no problems: ps.AddCommand("Get-Process").AddParameter(...).Invoke() but I'm not able to invoke a .net method with the syntax "[namespace.class]::method", just to make an example to invoke [System.IO.File]::Exists("c:\boo.txt"). I tried with ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists(\"c:\\boo.txt\")").Invoke() ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists").AddArgument("c:\\boo.txt").Invoke() and some others. It always throws an exception which says that the command specified is not recognized. There is a way to invoke that type of command? Thanks

  • Mercurial - Files nog showing on server (ls command)

    - by Bumbolt
I'm trying to setup a java buildserver with jenkins, maven and mercurial. Now my mercurial server is working i can push, pull and commit. Running the command 'hg serve' on the server allows me to see commits from my clients. But when i go manually into the repository (cd in server-terminal) and do an 'ls' command i can't see any file. When i clone the repository onto a new client i DO recieve the files pushed by the other clients. This is somewhat strange behaviour. Does anyone recognize this? What should i do to fix this?

  • What is a good way of coding a file processing program, which accepts multisource data in Java

    - by jjepsuomi
I'm making a data prosessing system, which currently is using csv-data as input and output form. In the future I might want to add support for example database-, xml-, etc. typed input and output forms. How should I desing my program so that it would be easy to add support for new type of data sources? Should simply make for example an abstract data class (which would contain the basic file prosessing methods) and then inherit this class for database, xml, etc. cases? Hope my question is clear =) In other words my question is: "How to desing a file prosessing system, which can be easily updated to accept input data from different sources (database, XML, Excel, etc.)".

  • Capturing system command output as a string

    - by dreeves
Perl and PHP do this with backticks. For example: $output = `ls`; This code returns a directory listing into the variable $output. A similar function, system("ls"), returns the operating system return code for the given command. I'm talking about a variant that returns whatever the command prints to stdout. (There are better ways to get the list of files in a directory; the example code is an example of this concept.) How do other languages do this? Is there a canonical name for this function? (I'm going with "backtick"; though maybe I could coin "syslurp".)

  • execute external command / application from java

    - by IttayD
I'm looking for a package to support reliably executing external processes from Java. My criteria: Abstract over OS. So if I want to run 'foo', it will look for 'foo.bat', 'foo.exe' under windows and 'foo' under other OSs (or, have a way of passing a map of os-command) Being able to execute Java classes by simply giving the class name and arguments (so the package locates the java command, copies jvm flags and then executes) Process stdout and stderr properly Watchdog / Monitoring capabilities I've looked at commons-exec but it looks like it answers only 3 & 4. Ant has support for execution but looks like an overkill to use it for this purpose only.

  • Can VBScript determine the most recently modified (or added) file in a particular folder?

    - by Jimminy
Hello, I have a script (or more accurately WILL have a script) that checks a folder and copies a file from this folder to a different location (will run once per day). The fileName that I'd like to copy from, however, changes based on the date. Basically, instead of setting the "strFilePath" to "C:\somePath\somePath2\myFile.txt" I would like to simply take the most recently modified (or added - does this make a difference in terms of the script??) in the "somePath2" folder and copy it to the destination. Bonus (but not completely necessary) would be to check in the script if the file was modified/added in the last 24 hours and only copy it over in that case. Thanks for your help!

  • Using modified date of file for comparison. Is it safe?

    - by papadi
I want to make a procedure that does one way syncrhonization of a folder between a server and a client. I was thinking to use ModifiedDate as a criterio, provided that only the date of the server files will be used. Procedure will not use Modified dates of files on the client at all. It will read dates from the server and compare them with dates read from the server last time the procedure run. Do you think this is safe? Is there any possibility that Modified Date will not be changed when a file is edited or it will be changed without touching the contents of the file (eg. from some strange antivirus programs)?

  • Set plugin’s version on the command line in maven 2

    - by larry cai
I generate default quickstart maven example, and type mvn checkstyle:checkstyle, it always try to use the lastest SNAPSHOT version, probably it is wrong in my nexus server, but How can I set plugin's version on the command line in maven2, like 2.5 for checkstyle instead of 2.6-SNAPSHOT C:\HelloWorld>mvn checkstyle:checkstyle [INFO] Scanning for projects... [INFO] Searching repository for plugin with prefix: 'checkstyle'. [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] Error building POM (may not be this project's POM). Project ID: org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-checkstyle-plugin Reason: Error getting POM for 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-checkstyle-plugin' from the repository: Failed to resolve artifact, possibly due to a repository list that is not appropriately equipped for this artifact's metadata. org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-checkstyle-plugin:pom:2.6-SNAPSHOT from the specified remote repositories: nexus (http://localhost:9081/nexus/content/groups/public) for project org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-checkstyle-plugin I guess it could be "mvn checkstyle:2.5:checkstyle", unfortunately it is not. Surely if I set build dependance in pom.xml, it will work, but I want to see how command line can works

  • How can you check if a file exists before including/importing it in JSP?

    - by codeninja
Assuming that requestScope.importMe is expecting a path to a jsp file <c:choose> <c:when test="${!empty requestScope.importMe && fileExists(requestScope.importMe) }"> <c:import url="${requestScope.importMe}" /> ... How can I check if the file exists before trying to include it so that an error is not thrown? I'd like to avoid using inline Java. Something using one of the JSTL tags is the preferred approach.

  • Cross platform, Interactive text-based interface with command completion

    - by trojanfoe
Does anyone know of a C++ library that will provide a text-based interactive interface? I want to create two versions of an application; a console based program that will perform whatever actions are given on the command line or interactively at the console as well as a GUI based program (Mac Cocoa and Windows MFC). Both versions will share a common C++ backend. For the console based program I would like similar history abilities to readline (which I cannot use as this application will be closed source) with command completion (Tab-activated for example). Perhaps there is something like this already available?
