  • Javascript hide/show classes with checkbox

    - by Christina
    I am just learning javascript, so please bear with me! I want to be able to use checkboxes to choose to hide/show div classes (to basically filter the amount of info being shown). It is done in this... but I'm try to figure out something much simpler (since I don't need to dynamically generate the checkbox options.) I came across this example: The Javascript: function showMe (it, box) { var vis = (box.checked) ? "block" : "none"; document.getElementById(it).style.display = vis; } The HTML <form> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" value="value1" onclick="showMe('div1', this)" />value1 <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" value="value2" onclick="showMe('div2', this)" />value2 <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" value="value3" onclick="showMe('div3', this)" />value3 </form> <div id="div1" style="display:block">Show Div 1</div> <div id="div2" style="display:block">Show Div 2</div> <div id="div3" style="display:block">Show Div 3</div> </body> </html> But it only works for div ids, not classes. Any idea on how I can work this? Thanks in advance if you can help me out!

  • UserControl as ListBoxItem and IsSelected

    - by mattjf
    I have a usercontrol that I want to use as a ListBoxItem. <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <local:MyUserControl/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> I'd like to play a storyboard when the usercontrol is unselected. <UserControl.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type UserControl}"> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding IsSelected, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType={x:Type ListBoxItem}, Mode=FindAncestor}}" Value="False"> <DataTrigger.EnterActions> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource OnMouseLeaveSB}"/> </DataTrigger.EnterActions> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </UserControl.Resources> But the storyboard is never firing. Is there a better way to do this? Edited to Add: What I am really trying to accomplish this this: When the mouse is over the UserControl, I want to play a storyboard (OnMouseEnterSB). When the mouse leaves the UserControl, I want to play another storyboard (OnMouseLeaveSB). I have all this working fine. When the UserControl is selected, however, and the mouse leaves, I do NOT want to play the storyboard. Finally, when the UserControl is unselected, I want to play the OnMouseLeaveSB storyboard.

  • Can Internet Explorer bind events to absolute positioned elements ?

    - by mark
    Can Internet Explorer bind events to absolute positioned elements ? I can't bind a "click" to an element that is overlapping another. Have tried loads of different ways, here a few tests that don't work in IE: //version 1: $(".classHolder").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); //version 2: $(".classHolder").each(function(){ $(this).click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); }); //version 3: $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); //version 4: $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); $("#id3").trigger("click"); // in all trials I tested with and without: // $("img").unbind(); // $("div").unbind(); // just to make sure no "ghost" events were bind into the elements but no success. // replace all [ for < , and all ] for [html] [head] [script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"][/script] [script type="application/javascript"] $(document).ready(function(){ $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); $("#id3").trigger("click"); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div id="id1" style="position:relative;"] [img id="id2" src="http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_com/images/srpr/logo1w.png" style=";z-index:-1;"/] [div id="id3" class="classHolder" style="position:absolute;border:2px solid red;left:0px;top:0px;width:70px;height:70px;z-index:1002;"]G[/div] [div id="id4" class="classHolder" style="position:absolute;border:2px solid red;left:210px;top:0px;width:25px;height:70px;z-index:1001;"]L[/div] asd asdf asdfg [/div] [/body] [/html]

  • Cache consistency & spawning a thread

    - by Dave Keck
    Background I've been reading through various books and articles to learn about processor caches, cache consistency, and memory barriers in the context of concurrent execution. So far though, I have been unable to determine whether a common coding practice of mine is safe in the strictest sense. Assumptions The following pseudo-code is executed on a two-processor machine: int sharedVar = 0; myThread() { print(sharedVar); } main() { sharedVar = 1; spawnThread(myThread); sleep(-1); } main() executes on processor 1 (P1), while myThread() executes on P2. Initially, sharedVar exists in the caches of both P1 and P2 with the initial value of 0 (due to some "warm-up code" that isn't shown above.) Question Strictly speaking – preferably without assuming any particular CPU – is myThread() guaranteed to print 1? With my newfound knowledge of processor caches, it seems entirely possible that at the time of the print() statement, P2 may not have received the invalidation request for sharedVar caused by P1's assignment in main(). Therefore, it seems possible that myThread() could print 0. References These are the related articles and books I've been reading. (It wouldn't allow me to format these as links because I'm a new user - sorry.) • Getting size of a specific byte array from an array of pointers to bytes

    - by Pat James
    In the following example c code, used in an Arduino project, I am looking for the ability to get the size of a specific byte array within an array of pointers to bytes, for example void setup() { Serial.begin(9600); // for debugging byte zero[] = {8, 169, 8, 128, 2,171,145,155,141,177,187,187,2,152,2,8,134,199}; byte one[] = {8, 179, 138, 138, 177 ,2,146, 8, 134, 8, 194,2,1,14,199,7, 145, 8,131, 8,158,8,187,187,191}; byte two[] = {29,7,1,8, 169, 8, 128, 2,171,145,155,141,177,187,187,2,152,2,8,134,199, 2, 2, 8, 179, 138, 138, 177 ,2,146, 8, 134, 8, 194,2,1,14,199,7, 145, 8,131, 8,158,8,187,187,191}; byte* numbers[3] = {zero, one, two }; function(numbers[1], sizeof(numbers[1])/sizeof(byte)); //doesn't work as desired, always passes 2 as the length function(numbers[1], 25); //this works } void loop() { } void function( byte arr[], int len ) { Serial.print("length: "); Serial.println(len); for (int i=0; i<len; i++){ Serial.print("array element "); Serial.print(i); Serial.print(" has value "); Serial.println((int)arr[i]); } } In this code, I understand that sizeof(numbers1)/sizeof(byte)) doesn't work because numbers1 is a pointer and not the byte array value. Is there a way in this example that I can, at runtime, get at the length of a specific (runtime-determined) byte array within an array of pointers to bytes? Understand that I am limited to developing in c (or assembly) for an Arduino environment. Also open to other suggestions rather than the array of pointers to bytes. The overall objective is to organize lists of bytes which can be retrieved, with length, at runtime.

  • CSS: Making two transparent images overlapping

    - by Pierre
    Hi all, I'm trying to make two transparent images (having the same size/dimension ) overlapping into a div at their top left corner. I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <body> <div style="margin:20px;"> <div id="main" style="overflow:hidden;background-color:red;width:400px;height:400px;border:3px solid blue;"> <img src="myimage1.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:0;"/> <img src="myimage2.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:10;"/> </div> </div> </body> </html> but it doesn't work, the two pictures are concatenated into the parent div. Thanks for your help !

  • VBA: How go I get the total width from all controls in an MS-Access form?

    - by Stefan Åstrand
    Hi, This is probably very basic stuff, but please bear in mind I am completely new to these things. I am working on a procedure for my Access datasheet forms that will: Adjust the width of each column to fit content Sum the total width of all columns and subtract it from the size of the window's width Adjust the width of one of the columns to fit the remaining space This is the code that adjusts the width of each column to fit content (which works fine): Dim Ctrl As Control Dim Path As String Dim ClmWidth As Integer 'Adjust column width to fit content For Each Ctrl In Me.Controls If TypeOf Ctrl Is TextBox Then Path = Ctrl.Name Me(Path).ColumnWidth = -2 End If Next Ctrl How should I write the code so I get the total width of all columns? Thanks a lot! Stefan Solution This is the code that makes an Access datasheet go from this: To this: Sub AdjustColumnWidth(frm As Form, clm As String) On Error GoTo HandleError Dim intWindowWidth As Integer ' Window width property Dim ctrl As Control ' Control Dim intCtrlWidth As Integer ' Control width property Dim intCtrlSum As Integer ' Control width property sum Dim intCtrlAdj As Integer ' Control width property remaining after substracted intCtrSum 'Adjust column width to standard width For Each ctrl In frm.Controls If TypeOf ctrl Is TextBox Or TypeOf ctrl Is CheckBox Or TypeOf ctrl Is ComboBox Then Path = ctrl.Name frm(Path).ColumnWidth = 1500 End If Next ctrl 'Get total column width For Each ctrl In frm.Controls If TypeOf ctrl Is TextBox Or TypeOf ctrl Is CheckBox Or TypeOf ctrl Is ComboBox Then Path = ctrl.Name intCtrlWidth = frm(Path).ColumnWidth If Path <> clm Then intCtrlSum = intCtrlSum + intCtrlWidth End If End If Next ctrl 'Adjust column to fit window intWindowWidth = frm.WindowWidth - 270 intCtrlAdj = intWindowWidth - intCtrlSum frm.Width = intWindowWidth frm(clm).ColumnWidth = intCtrlAdj Debug.Print "Totalt (Ctrl): " & intCtrlSum Debug.Print "Totalt (Window): " & intWindowWidth Debug.Print "Totalt (Remaining): " & intCtrlAdj Debug.Print "clm : " & clm HandleError: GeneralErrorHandler Err.Number, Err.Description Exit Sub End Sub Code to call procedure: Private Sub Form_Load() Call AdjustColumnWidth(Me, "txtDescription") End Sub

  • Text size for drop down menu/input select not working in Safari

    - by Nick
    Hello All, First question... I'm having trouble getting ANY of the Drop down menu/Input Select's to appear with size 18 font in Safari. Works fine in FF. Code: <form class="form"> <select name="make"> <option value="0"> All</option> </select> </form> Css: .form input{ font-size:18px; margin-bottom:0px; } Any ideas? Can view live at [http://www.motolistr.com][1] Best, Nick EDIT 1: Thanks for the quick reply. I added a style to the select itself to avoid confusion. I tried; <select name='make' style='font-size: 18pt;'> </select> And <select name='make' style='font-size: 18px;'> </select> And <select name='make' style='font-size: 1.3em;'> </select> Still not working in SAFARI...Again FF works fine with all 3. Best, Nick

  • How to access a superclass's class attributes in Python?

    - by Brecht Machiels
    Have a look at the following code: class A(object): defaults = {'a': 1} def __getattr__(self, name): print('A.__getattr__') return self.get_default(name) @classmethod def get_default(cls, name): # some debug output print('A.get_default({}) - {}'.format(name, cls)) try: print(super(cls, cls).defaults) # as expected except AttributeError: #except for the base object class, of course pass # the actual function body try: return cls.defaults[name] except KeyError: return super(cls, cls).get_default(name) # infinite recursion #return cls.__mro__[1].get_default(name) # this works, though class B(A): defaults = {'b': 2} class C(B): defaults = {'c': 3} c = C() print('c.a =', c.a) I have a hierarchy of classes each with its own dictionary containing some default values. If an instance of a class doesn't have a particular attribute, a default value for it should be returned instead. If no default value for the attribute is contained in the current class's defaults dictionary, the superclass's defaults dictionary should be searched. I'm trying to implement this using the recursive class method get_default. The program gets stuck in an infinite recursion, unfortunately. My understanding of super() is obviously lacking. By accessing __mro__, I can get it to work properly though, but I'm not sure this is a proper solution. I have the feeling the answer is somewhere in this article, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Perhaps I need to resort to using a metaclass?

How to select a value for each row and column, import sqlite3 con = sqlite3.connect('simple.db') c = con.cursor() c.execute('''create table simple (links text)''') con.commit() dic = {'x1':{'y1':1.0,'y2':0.0},'x2':{'y1':0.0,'y2':2.0,'y3':1.5},'x3':{'y2':2.0,'y3':1.5}} ucols = {} ## my current thoughts are collect all row values and all column values from dic and populate table row and columns accordingly how to call by row and column i havn't figured out yet ##populate rows in first column for row in dic: print row c.execute("""insert into simple ('links') values ('%s')"""%row) con.commit() ##unique columns for row in dic: print row for col in dic[row]: print col ucols[col]=dic[row][col] ##populate columns for col in ucols: print col c.execute("alter table simple add column '%s' 'float'" % col) con.commit() #functions needed ##insert values into sql by row x and column y?how to do this e.g. x1 and y2 should put in 0.0 ##I tried as follows didn't work for row in dic: for col in dic[row]: val =dic[row][col] c.execute("""update simple SET '%s' = '%f' WHERE 'links'='%s'"""%(col,val,row)) con.commit() ##update value at a specific row x and column y? ## select a value at a specific row x and column y?

  • Control Attributes render Encoded on dot net 4 - how to disable the encoding ?

    - by Aristos
    I have an issue in asp.net 4. When I add an attribute on controls, then the render it encoded. For example, when I type this code txtQuestion.Attributes["onfocus"] = "if(this.value == this.title) { this.value = ''; this.style.backgroundColor='#FEFDE0'; this.style.color='#000000'; }"; I get render onfocus="if(this.value == this.title){this.value = &#39;&#39;;this.style.backgroundColor=&#39;#FEFDE0&#39;; this.style.color=&#39;#000000&#39;;}" And every ' hash been change to & #39; Is there a way to disable this new future only on some controls ? or an easy way to make a custom render ? My Fail tries I have all ready try some thinks but I fail. For example this fails. txtQuestion.RenderingCompatibility = new Version("3.5"); I also locate the point that this attributes renders and is on public virtual void RenderBeginTag(HtmlTextWriterTag tagKey) function, there every attribute have a flag if he wish to be encoded, but I do not know how can anyone set it or not. Anyway, thank you in advanced.

    I need to put some text over a series of images in a gallery. I found many tutorials about the text part however the images need to be floated. Whenever I add float:left though the trick no longer works. My code (css inline for sack of brevity): <a href="/photos/photo1.php" title="photo1"> <span style="position: relative; width: 100%;"> <img src="/photos/photo1.jpg" alt="" /> <span style="position: absolute; top: 10px; left: 0; width: 100%;">Text over image</span> </span> </a> <a href="/photos/photo2.php" title="photo2"> <span style="position: relative; width: 100%;"> <img src="/photos/photo2.jpg" alt="" /> <span style="position: absolute; top: 10px; left: 0; width: 100%;">Text over image</span> </span> </a> This way the images are one under another but like I said I need to float them without breaking everything else.

  • How to use IsKeyboardFocusWithin and IsSelected together?

    - by jpsstavares
    I have a style defined for my ListBoxItems with a trigger to set a background color when IsSelected is True: <Style x:Key="StepItemStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Setter Property="SnapsToDevicePixels" Value="true"/> <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="true"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <Border Name="Border" Padding="0" SnapsToDevicePixels="true"> <ContentPresenter /> </Border> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsSelected" Value="True"> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="Background" Value="#40a0f5ff"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> This style maintains the selected item even when the ListBox and ListBoxItem loses focus, which in my case is an absolute must. The problem is that I also want the ListBoxItem to be selected when one of its TextBox's child gets focused. To achieve this I add a trigger that sets IsSelected to true when IsKeyboardFocusWithin is true: <Trigger Property="IsKeyboardFocusWithin" Value="True"> <Setter Property="IsSelected" Value="True" /> </Trigger> When I add this trigger the Item is selected when the focus is on a child TextBox, but the first behaviour disappears. Now when I click outside the ListBox, the item is de-selected. How can I keep both behaviours?

  • pylab.savefig() and pylab.show() image difference

    - by Jack1990
    I'm making an script to automatically create plots from .xvg files, but there's a problem when I'm trying to use pylab's savefig() method. Using pylab.show() and saving from there, everything's fine. Using pylab.show() Using pylab.savefig() def producePlot(timestep, energy_values,type_line = 'r', jump = 1,finish = 100): fc = sp.interp1d(timestep[::jump], energy_values[::jump],kind='cubic') xnew = numpy.linspace(0, finish, finish*2) pylab.plot(xnew, fc(xnew),type_line) pylab.xlabel('Time in ps ') pylab.ylabel('kJ/mol') pylab.xlim(xmin=0, xmax=finish) def produceSimplePlot(timestep, energy_values,type_line = 'r', jump = 1,finish = 100): pylab.plot(timestep, energy_values,type_line) pylab.xlabel('Time in ps ') pylab.ylabel('kJ/mol') pylab.xlim(xmin=0, xmax=finish) def linearRegression(timestep, energy_values, type_line = 'g'): #, jump = 1,finish = 100): from scipy import stats import numpy #print 'fuck' timestep = numpy.asarray(timestep) slope, intercept, r_value, p_value, std_err = stats.linregress(timestep,energy_values) line = slope*timestep+intercept pylab.plot(timestep, line, type_line) def plottingTime(Title,file_name, timestep, energy_values ,loc, jump , finish): pylab.title(Title) producePlot(timestep,energy_values, 'b',jump, finish) linearRegression(timestep,energy_values) import numpy Average = numpy.average(energy_values) #print Average pylab.legend(("Average = %.2f" %(Average),'Linear Reg'),loc) #pylab.show() pylab.savefig('%s.jpg' %file_name[:-4], bbox_inches= None, pad_inches=0) #if __name__ == '__main__': #plottingTime(Title,timestep1, energy_values, jump =10, finish = 4800) def specialCase(Title,file_name, timestep, energy_values,loc, jump, finish): #print 'Working here ...?' pylab.title(Title) producePlot(timestep,energy_values, 'b',jump, finish) import numpy from pylab import * Average = numpy.average(energy_values) #print Average pylab.legend(("Average = %.2g" %(Average), Title),loc) locs,labels = yticks() yticks(locs, map(lambda x: "%.3g" % x, locs)) #pylab.show() pylab.savefig('%s.jpg' %file_name[:-4] , bbox_inches= None, pad_inches=0) Thanks in advance, John

  • windows beneath not being painted when using a layered window

    - by Nuno
    Hi, I will try to explain my problem the best i can, I'm creating a layered window in c++ (using windowsXP), all works fine until i drag my created window near the windows start button, and then when i press the star button of windows taskbar and close it again all the windows beneath of my layered window aren't being painted (only in the area of the start window that pops over my window). My create window is like this: CWnd::CreateEx( WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW | WS_EX_LAYERED, AfxRegisterWndClass(0), lpstr_name, WS_POPUP, 0,0,0,0, pc_parent-GetSafeHwnd(), 0); ... When i create the window with this styles the problem ocurrs, but if i create with the extended style WS_EX_TRANSPARENT and all the others the problem does not occur any more. And if instead of a WS_POPUP window is a WS_CHILD or WS_OVERLAPPED then this also doesn't occur... Can anyone please explain why when i create a WS_POPUP window with the WS_EX_LAYERED style all the beneath windows aren't updated, and if i add the style WS_EX_TRANSPARENT this works fine. Note: why i do not use the WS_EX_TRANSPARENT style if it works right? if i use it then my window can not be dragged and i need it to do it :) Thanks

  • [Qt] How to get rid of OCI.dll dependency when compiling static

    - by STL
    Hi, My application accesses an Oracle database through Qt's QSqlDatabase class. I'm compiling Qt as static for the release build, but I can't seem to be able to get rid of OCI.dll dependency. I'm trying to link against oci.lib (as available in Oracle's Instant Client with SDK). Here's my configure line : configure -qt-libjpeg -qt-zlib -qt-libpng -nomake examples -nomake demos -no-exceptions -no-stl -no-rtti -no-qt3support -no-scripttools -no-openssl -no-opengl -no-phonon -no-style-motif -no-style-cde -no-style-cleanlooks -no-style-plastique -static -release -opensource -plugin-sql-oci -plugin-sql-sqlite -platform win32-msvc2005 I link against oci.h and oci.lib in the SDK's folder by using : set INCLUDE=C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\include;%INCLUDE% set LIB=C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\lib\msvc;%LIB% Then, once Qt is compiled, I use the following lines in my *.pro file : QT += sql CONFIG += static LIBS += C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\lib\msvc\oci.lib QTPLUGIN += qsqloci Then, in my main.cpp, I add the following commands to statically compile OCI plugin in the application : #include <QtPlugin> Q_IMPORT_PLUGIN(qsqloci) After compiling the project, I test it on my workstation and it works (as I have Oracle Instant Client installed). When I try on another workstation, I always get the message: This application has failed to start because OCI.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix this problem. I don't understand why I still need OCI.dll, as my statically linked application is supposed to link to oci.lib instead. Is there any Qt people here that might have a solution for me ? Thanks a lot ! • Python __subclasses__() not listing subclasses

    - by Mridang Agarwalla
    I cant seem to list all derived classes using the __subclasses__() method. Here's my directory layout: import.py backends __init__.py --digger __init__.py base.py test.py --plugins plugina_plugin.py From import.py i'm calling test.py. test.py in turn iterates over all the files in the plugins directory and loads all of them. test.py looks like this: import os import sys import re sys.path.append(os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))))) sys.path.append(os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))), 'plugins')) from base import BasePlugin class TestImport: def __init__(self): print 'heeeeello' PLUGIN_DIRECTORY = os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))), 'plugins') for filename in os.listdir (PLUGIN_DIRECTORY): # Ignore subfolders if os.path.isdir (os.path.join(PLUGIN_DIRECTORY, filename)): continue else: if re.match(r".*?_plugin\.py$", filename): print ('Initialising plugin : ' + filename) __import__(re.sub(r".py", r"", filename)) print ('Plugin system initialized') print BasePlugin.__subclasses__() The problem us that the __subclasses__() method doesn't show any derived classes. All plugins in the plugins directory derive from a base class in the base.py file. base.py looks like this: class BasePlugin(object): """ Base """ def __init__(self): pass plugina_plugin.py looks like this: from base import BasePlugin class PluginA(BasePlugin): """ Plugin A """ def __init__(self): pass Could anyone help me out with this? Whatm am i doing wrong? I've racked my brains over this but I cant seem to figure it out Thanks.

  • Internet Explorer table 1 pixel spacing problem

    - by Dennis G.
    I've found a strange problem with Internet Explorer related to table spacing and cannot find a way to work around it. An empty table results in a single pixel white space with Internet Explorer (6 and 7, 8 not yet tested), while all other browsers ignore the empty table. Here's a picture of the problem: And here is the minimum HTML code to reproduce the issue (please note that there are more margin/padding css attributes and table attributes specified than really needed, I just tested if this fixes IE's behavior): <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <body> <div style="width: 200px; border: 1px black solid"> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="margin: 0pt; padding: 0pt; border-collapse: collapse;"> <tr> <td style="padding: 0; margin: 0"> </td> </tr> </table> <div style="background: red"> Test </div> </div> </body> </html> I'm not using an empty table as specified in the example above, but this was the minimum code that displays this behavior. Any ideas on how to fix this and remove the white space with IE?
