• How can I split the suckerfish Menu into two pieces so that I can put it in two frame?

  I found a tutorial for developing multi-level drop down menu here.Its demo can be checked at www.kriesi.at/wp-content/extra_data/suckerfish_tutorial/step4.html#. I would like to enhance it to support cross-frames . It means, the horizontal part of the whole menu (html,css,javascript etc..in demo page) will exist in the upper frame and the rest will be put in the lower frame. Edit: There will be only one menu item in the horizontal part. It will be still ok if I can click that menu_item rather than mouse-hovering to show the lower part of the menu . Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks.

  Looking for some best practices of UI list on iPhone which has item add/modify/delete functions. Please refer to some sample codes or articles to build user friendly interface. The main application is tab bar application and one of the tabs supposed to show item management. The item itself consisting of 3 text items, first one can be label, it's short, the rest if it's not terribly complicated I would like to show below with small font or show when user taps on item entering edit mode... Not sure how to design all this and which views to use.

• Redirecting before POST upload has been completed

  I have form with file upload. The files to be uploaded actually are pictures and videos, so they can be quite big. I have logic which based on headers and first 1KB can determine if the rest will be processed or immediately rejected. In the later case I'd like to redirect client to error page without having to wait for upload to finish. The case is, that just sending response before POST is complete doesn't seem to work. The redirect get's ignored and if I close connection, browser complains with "Connection reset by peer" error. So the question is: is it even possible to do that in pure HTTP (without JavaScript on client-side), and if so, how?

• C#: Custom assembly directory

  Say we have an application which consists of one executable and 5 libraries. Regularly all of these will be contained in one directory and the libraries will be loaded from there. Is it possible to do so that I can have for example some of the libraries in one directory called Lib, and the rest in one called Lib2? So that the application directory would only contain the executable itself and the other assemblies would be contained in various logical directories. How can I do this? And I would like to know how to do the loading of the assemblies, but also how to make the building of the application put the assemblies in the right directory.

• Hidden links are still clickable on the Android browser

  I've got a contextual menu that appears when a button is clicked. This menu has some links and after some seconds is hidden again. The problem is that after the menu has disappeared the links are still there. They are not shown but are clickable and the green border appears. And after some seconds they disappear. I've tryied many ways of hiding the menu: display: none, visibility: hidden, width: 0, height: 0, jquery hide, jquery fadeout... but none worked. Also hidding the links. Does anyone have a idea about what's happening? With the rest of the browsers it works without problem Thanks

• Using Components.utils.import in a firefox extension

  I am trying to create some global variables in a firefox extension. In my content folder, I have two javascript files: 1) Main JS file that holds the functions for the different events, etc 2) A file that stores only an object with the pieces of state I want to maintain. Also, I set the array EXPORTED_SYMBOLS. I am having issues with the following line found in my main JS file: Components.utils.import("resource:///globalVariables.js"); When it is at the top of the file, nothing seems to work. If I move it into the function where I need the variable, the rest of my code works, but the function with this line does nothing. Any advice that would help me with this problem would be great.   I have this string in PHP Hopelessly Incredible |SPG:M| 766 STEAM_0:1:20130600 " banned "A Blatantly Obvious Hacker 740 STEAM_0:1:55386073 " (minutes "0") (reason "Multi-Hack") The Format of the string is: Name1 Number(0-3 digits) Steam_0:x:xxxx offense (banned/kicked/mute etc) Name2 Number(0-3 digits) Steam_0:x:xxxx time reason My goal is to remove the values 766 and 740 because it is just garbage. Those values can have single, double, and triple digits. The next step would be to strip STEAM_0:1:20130600 and STEAM_0:1:55386073 out of the string and capture it in a new variable. The only constant is STEAM_0: the rest can change. I am still learning regex but I fear this is a bit complicated for me to do. Some guidance would be most appreciative.

The tool must be very easy to use and it has to generate a mobile version as well as a desktop version of the slideshow. (I'll spare you the rest of the specs.) Tools under consideration include SlideShowPro and Soundslides. Do you have a favorite tool, intended for publishers? In addition to generating code for pasting into a Web page, it would be great if the tool had a hosting component as well, so that a future iPhone app could consume an XML feed of the slideshows, similar to what SlideShowPro offers.

• C++ packing a typdef enum

  typedef enum BeNeLux { BELGIUM, NETHERLANDS, LUXEMBURG } _PACKAGE_ BeNeLux; When I try to compile this with C++ Compiler, I am getting errors, but it seems to work fine with a C compiler. So here's the question. Is it possible to pack an enum in C++, or can someone see why I would get the error? The error is: "semicolon missing after declaration of BeNeLux". I know, after checking and rechecking, that there definitely is a semicolon there, and in any places required in the rest of the code.

• MSI installer not correctly uninstalling a product.

  Hi, I have a situation where a user can install an older version of my software for the 'current user', and then go ahead and upgrade to a newer version of my software for 'all users'. The product itself works fine after this, but the strangeness happens on uninstall. When I try to uninstall the product, the uninstaller shows a couple flashes of progress and then simply dies. It calls none of my custom actions at all (of which i have for install, uninstall, and commit. The product files remain, and I can still launch it. If I try to uninstall again, MSI gives an error saying that the product doesn't exist, but it is still indeed listed on add/remove programs. After this attempted uninstall, the user can work around the problem by uninstalling the 'rest' of the product through add/remove programs (which at this point shows the older version of the product). Any Idea what could cause this?

I'm doing this using jfugue library. the problem is when I'm tryingto stop playback with stop button (which call sequencer.stop() and sequencer.close()) the last played note is sound all of rest time, and I can't stop it. So I'm asking about solution about stopping all audio and MIDI too! sound playback from java application. Notice: If you want propose just mute volume, you need to know that I want end-use will be able to press play button again and hear the sound again, so muting volumr will be not a solution, or explain please. • Why does using cons to create a pair of two lists produce a list and two elements?

  I've started learning Scheme, for fun mostly, and because I've never used a functional language before. I chose Scheme because I wanted to read SICP for a long time. Anyway, I'm currently learning about lists, and before that I learned about cons, car and cdr. And there's an example that creates a list of lists with cons, like this : (cons (list 1 2) (list 3 4)) The resulting list is ((1 2) 3 4), which doesn't make sense to me, I would expect ((1 2)(3 4)) to be the result (a list made out of two lists). Why does it behave like that? I realize that if I were to use car, I would get (1 2), and cdr I'd get (3 4) becaue cdr always returns "the rest", but I don't understand why the list isn't made of two lists?

• Strange behaviour of Android debugger in Eclipse when using Camera for preview.

  Hi, I have an Android application that uses a SurfaceView subclass and Camera object to preview images before capture. Once I capture an image, I stop the preview and release the camera. Execution stops at any breakpoint after this. However, apart from the "Suspend" and "Terminate" icons, the rest are disabled. This is strange because the "Debug Current Instruction Pointer" is clearly at the said breakpoint and execution is already suspended. I can't perform any debugging operations and have no option but to terminate the session. Sometimes (very rarely), the session terminates by itself. I can confirm that this odd behavior takes place only after I preview the camera capture. I am fairly new to Android development. Is there some obvious mistake I am making? Any help would be highly appreciated.

• Drupal: why can't user admin access my module pages?

  I am working on a drupal 6.x module which consists of several page as defined in the .module page. The problem is that when I visit those pages as admin, I get access denied. I thought that admin (user 1) could access anything?   How can I get all differences, not just one? I want to use the calculated result for each item in the third column. The dilemma is that if I remove END I can print $3 but cannot have ave. • Objective C: App freezes when using a timer

  It took me hours to figure out how to implement a timer into my program, but when it runs, the app doesn't load completely as it did before the timer. • How can I notify an application of a programmatically set scrollbar value?

  My code involves standard Scroll Bar control and it happens that I need to change its value programmatically in some cases. I do this using SetScrollInfo function, as in this example: void setScrollBarValue( HWND scrollBar, int value ) { SCROLLINFO si = { sizeof( SCROLLINFO ); } si.fMask = SIF_POS; si.nPos = value; ::SetScrollInfo( scrollBar, SB_CTL, &si, true /* redraw */ ); } This appears to work fine (the thumb of the scrollbar moves around) but it fails to notify the rest of the application of the new scrollbar value. For instance, an edit control which uses the scroll bar (much like in the Windows notepad application) fails to scroll around because it doesn't get notified about the new scrollbar value. In case it matters: the scrollbar I'm modifying is not in the same process as the above setScrollBarValue function. Does anybody know how to achieve this?

• Response.Redirect causes System.Threading.ThreadAbortException

  When I use Response.Redirect(...) to redirect my form to a new page I get the error: A first chance exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll An exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll but was not handled in user code My understanding of this is that the error is being caused by the webserver aborting the remainder of the page the response.redirect was called on. I know I can add a second parameter to Response.Redirect that is called endResponse. If I set endResponse to True I still get the error but if I set it to False then I do not. I am pretty sure though that that means the webserver is running the rest of the page I redirected away from. Which would seem to be inefficient to say the least. Is there a better way to do this? Something other than Response.Redirect or is there a way to force the old page to stop loading where I will not get a ThreadAbortException?

• Some stupid warnings

  I have a number of C source files(both .c and .h files). header files contains a number of functions. Out of those functions, only partially are used in a source .C file.Suppose a.h,b.h are header files and a.c and b.c are .c files. a.h is included in a.c. But only a number of functions those are in a. h are used and rest are not used. After compilation I find following warnings: function XXXX defined but not used. But those XXXX functions which are not used in a.c are used in b.c. So, i can't completely remove those functions too. So , i decided to make a separate file containing only those XXXX functions and included it wherever it is used.Doing this is creating multiple number of header files. Can anybody please suggest me to some effective way to solve this problem.

• How to share common css and other resources among grails projects?

  I'm working on a grails-based web application that will be composed of a couple of different grails projects, each developed by a separate team, which will eventually all be unified under a common "portal." So they need to have the same look and feel, at least to some degree. Is there a "blessed" way to share resources like this among projects? Something using the grails plugin architecture maybe? Would it make sense to just create a separate lightweight project containing nothing but the css and any shared resources? How have the rest of you handled sharing things between different grails projects?

• UIScrollView with over 100 images

  I have implemented a UIScrollView on the iPhone that contains 100 image slots which I fill only the currently visible page, the one before it, and the one after it as the user scrolls. Everything works fine until we get up to image 97 or 98, the entire view disappears! The only thing I can do at that point is navigate back to the previous view. Nothing works as far as the scroll view after this. I am not receiving any memory warnings an the rest of the app functions fine. Any ideas? Has anyone created a UIScrollView in paging mode with over 100 pages? Rick
