  • Memorystream and Large Object Heap

    - by Flo
I have to transfer large files between computers on via unreliable connections using WCF. Because I want to be able to resume the file and I don't want to be limited in my filesize by WCF, I am chunking the files into 1MB pieces. These "chunk" are transported as stream. Which works quite nice, so far. My steps are: open filestream read chunk from file into byet[] and create memorystream transfer chunk back to 2. until the whole file is sent My problem is in step 2. I assume that when I create a memory stream from a byte array, it will end up on the LOH and ultimately cause an outofmemory exception. I could not actually create this error, maybe I am wrong in my assumption. Now, I don't want to send the byte[] in the message, as WCF will tell me the array size is too big. I can change the max allowed array size and/or the size of my chunk, but I hope there is another solution. My actual question(s): Will my current solution create objects on the LOH and will that cause me problem? Is there a better way to solve this? Btw.: On the receiving side I simple read smaller chunks from the arriving stream and write them directly into the file, so no large byte arrays involved.

  • Uploading a file fails under WordPress

    - by Ash
    I'm using WordPress and I'm following W3's guide for uploading a file: HTML code: <html> <body> <form action="upload_file.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <label for="file">Filename:</label> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> </html> PHP code (upload_file.php): <?php if ($_FILES["file"]["error"] > 0) { echo "Error: " . $_FILES["file"]["error"] . "<br />"; } else { echo "Upload: " . $_FILES["file"]["name"] . "<br />"; echo "Type: " . $_FILES["file"]["type"] . "<br />"; echo "Size: " . ($_FILES["file"]["size"] / 1024) . " Kb<br />"; echo "Stored in: " . $_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"]; } ?> The HTML code is pasted in a PHP page template and the PHP file under the WP installation directory under www. The problem is when I submit the file I get Error: 1. If I remark the "if" part of the PHP code and leave the "else" part I get: Upload: IMG_4258.JPG Type: Size: 0 Kb Stored in: So at least I know the PHP code is running. But what's causing it to fail? Is there a problem with the code or is WordPress meddling with the process?

  • How to generate lots of redundant ajax elements like checkboxes and pulldowns in Django?

    - by iJames
Hello folks. I've been getting lots of answers from stackoverflow now that I'm in Django just be searching. Now I hope my question will also create some value for everybody. In choosing Django, I was hoping there was some similar mechanism to the way you can do partials in ROR. This was going to help me in two ways. One was in generating repeating indexed forms or form elements, and also in rendering only a piece of the page on the round trip. I've done a little bit of that by using taconite with a simple URL click but now I'm trying to get more advanced. This will focus on the form issue which boils down to how to iterate over a secondary object. If I have a list of photo instances, each of which has a couple of parameters, let's say a size and a quantity. I want to generate form elements for each photo instance separately. But then I have two lists I want to iterate on at the same time. Context: photos : Photo.objects.all() and forms = {} for photo in photos: forms[photo.id] = PhotoForm() In other words we've got a list of photo objects and a dict of forms based on the photo.id. Here's an abstraction of the template: {% for photo in photos %} {% include "photoview.html" %} {% comment %} So here I want to use the photo.id as an index to get the correct form. So that each photo has its own form. I would want to have a different action and each form field would be unique. Is that possible? How can I iterate on that? Thanks! {% endcomment %} Quantity: {{ oi.quantity }} {{ form.quantity }} Dimensions: {{ oi.size }} {{ form.size }} {% endfor %} What can I do about this simple case. And how can I make it where every control is automatically updating the server instead of using a form at all? Thanks! James

  • Introduction to vectorizing in MATLAB - any good tutorials?

    - by Gacek
I'm looking for any good tutorials on vectorizing (loops) in MATLAB. I have quite simple algorithm, but it uses two for loops. I know that it should be simple to vectorize it and I would like to learn how to do it instead of asking you for the solution. But to let you know what problem I have, so you would be able to suggest best tutorials that are showing how to solve similar problems, here's the outline of my problem: B = zeros(size(A)); % //A is a given matrix. for i=1:size(A,1) for j=1:size(A,2) H = ... %// take some surrounding elements of the element at position (i,j) (i.e. using mask 3x3 elements) B(i,j) = computeSth(H); %// compute something on selected elements and place it in B end end So, I'm NOT asking for the solution. I'm asking for a good tutorials, examples of vectorizing loops in MATLAB. I would like to learn how to do it and do it on my own.

  • Bad performance function in PHP. With large files memory blows up! How can I refactor?

    - by André
Hi I have a function that strips out lines from files. I'm handling with large files(more than 100Mb). I have the PHP Memory with 256MB but the function that handles with the strip out of lines blows up with a 100MB CSV File. What the function must do is this: Originally I have the CSV like: Copyright (c) 2007 MaxMind LLC. All Rights Reserved. locId,country, region, city, postalCode, latitude, longitude, metroCode, areaCode 1,"O1","","","",0.0000,0.0000,, 2,"AP","","","",35.0000,105.0000,, 3,"EU","","","",47.0000,8.0000,, 4,"AD","","","",42.5000,1.5000,, 5,"AE","","","",24.0000,54.0000,, 6,"AF","","","",33.0000,65.0000,, 7,"AG","","","",17.0500,-61.8000,, 8,"AI","","","",18.2500,-63.1667,, 9,"AL","","","",41.0000,20.0000,, When I pass the CSV file to this function I got: locId,country, region, city, postalCode, latitude, longitude, metroCode, areaCode 1,"O1","","","",0.0000,0.0000,, 2,"AP","","","",35.0000,105.0000,, 3,"EU","","","",47.0000,8.0000,, 4,"AD","","","",42.5000,1.5000,, 5,"AE","","","",24.0000,54.0000,, 6,"AF","","","",33.0000,65.0000,, 7,"AG","","","",17.0500,-61.8000,, 8,"AI","","","",18.2500,-63.1667,, 9,"AL","","","",41.0000,20.0000,, It only strips out the first line, nothing more. The problem is the performance of this function with large files, it blows up the memory. The function is: public function deleteLine($line_no, $csvFileName) { // this function strips a specific line from a file // if a line is stripped, functions returns True else false // // e.g. // deleteLine(-1, xyz.csv); // strip last line // deleteLine(1, xyz.csv); // strip first line // Assigna o nome do ficheiro $filename = $csvFileName; $strip_return=FALSE; $data=file($filename); $pipe=fopen($filename,'w'); $size=count($data); if($line_no==-1) $skip=$size-1; else $skip=$line_no-1; for($line=0;$line<$size;$line++) if($line!=$skip) fputs($pipe,$data[$line]); else $strip_return=TRUE; return $strip_return; } It is possible to refactor this function to not blow up with the 256MB PHP Memory? Give me some clues. Best Regards,

  • vectorizing loops in Matlab - performance issues

    - by Gacek
This question is related to these two: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2867901/introduction-to-vectorizing-in-matlab-any-good-tutorials http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2561617/filter-that-uses-elements-from-two-arrays-at-the-same-time Basing on the tutorials I read, I was trying to vectorize some procedure that takes really a lot of time. I've rewritten this: function B = bfltGray(A,w,sigma_r) dim = size(A); B = zeros(dim); for i = 1:dim(1) for j = 1:dim(2) % Extract local region. iMin = max(i-w,1); iMax = min(i+w,dim(1)); jMin = max(j-w,1); jMax = min(j+w,dim(2)); I = A(iMin:iMax,jMin:jMax); % Compute Gaussian intensity weights. F = exp(-0.5*(abs(I-A(i,j))/sigma_r).^2); B(i,j) = sum(F(:).*I(:))/sum(F(:)); end end into this: function B = rngVect(A, w, sigma) W = 2*w+1; I = padarray(A, [w,w],'symmetric'); I = im2col(I, [W,W]); H = exp(-0.5*(abs(I-repmat(A(:)', size(I,1),1))/sigma).^2); B = reshape(sum(H.*I,1)./sum(H,1), size(A, 1), []); But this version seems to be as slow as the first one, but in addition it uses a lot of memory and sometimes causes memory problems. I suppose I've made something wrong. Probably some logic mistake regarding vectorizing. Well, in fact I'm not surprised - this method creates really big matrices and probably the computations are proportionally longer. I have also tried to write it using nlfilter (similar to the second solution given by Jonas) but it seems to be hard since I use Matlab 6.5 (R13) (there are no sophisticated function handles available). So once again, I'm asking not for ready solution, but for some ideas that would help me to solve this in reasonable time. Maybe you will point me what I did wrong.

  • What is the fastest way for reading huge files in Delphi?

    - by dummzeuch
My program needs to read chunks from a huge binary file with random access. I have got a list of offsets and lengths which may have several thousand entries. The user selects an entry and the program seeks to the offset and reads length bytes. The program internally uses a TMemoryStream to store and process the chunks read from the file. Reading the data is done via a TFileStream like this: FileStream.Position := Offset; MemoryStream.CopyFrom(FileStream, Size); This works fine but unfortunately it becomes increasingly slower as the files get larger. The file size starts at a few megabytes but frequently reaches several tens of gigabytes. The chunks read are around 100 kbytes in size. The file's content is only read by my program. It is the only program accessing the file at the time. Also the files are stored locally so this is not a network issue. I am using Delphi 2007 on a Windows XP box. What can I do to speed up this file access?

  • Drawing an image is completely out

    - by ct2k7
Hi I'm using this code below to let a user "draw" their signature on a UIView component on my app: UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(signature.frame.size); [drawImage.image drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, signature.frame.size.width, signature.frame.size.height)]; CGContextSetLineCap(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), kCGLineCapRound); CGContextSetLineWidth(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), 5.0); CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0); CGContextMoveToPoint(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), lastPoint.x, lastPoint.y); CGContextAddLineToPoint(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), lastPoint.x, lastPoint.y); CGContextStrokePath(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()); CGContextFlush(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()); drawImage.image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext() The issue I am having is that the drawing is not only is the drawing not in line with the pointer when in use in the simulator, the image is going outside of the designated UIView compontent and is getting smaller/out of focus the more I draw, as you can see in this image: And after a few lines, showing the boundaries of the exact are of where I can draw: Any ideas on what's happening here? lastPoint.y is defined as: lastPoint.y -= 20; Any ideas on what on earth is happening here?

  • Time complexity to fill hash table (homework)?

    - by Heathcliff
This is a homework question, but I think there's something missing from it. It asks: Provide a sequence of m keys to fill a hash table implemented with linear probing, such that the time to fill it is minimum. And then Provide another sequence of m keys, but such that the time fill it is maximum. Repeat these two questions if the hash table implements quadratic probing I can only assume that the hash table has size m, both because it's the only number given and because we have been using that letter to address a hash table size before when describing the load factor. But I can't think of any sequence to do the first without knowing the hash function that hashes the sequence into the table. If it is a bad hash function, such that, for instance, it hashes every entry to the same index, then both the minimum and maximum time to fill it will take O(n) time, regardless of what the sequence looks like. And in the average case, where I assume the hash function is OK, how am I suppossed to know how long it will take for that hash function to fill the table? Aren't these questions linked to the hash function stronger than they are to the sequence that is hashed? As for the second question, I can assume that, regardless of the hash function, a sequence of size m with the same key repeated m-times will provide the maximum time, because it will cause linear probing from the second entry on. I think that will take O(n) time. Is that correct? Thanks

  • fix a columns width when a list is bound to a datagridview

    - by Andy
I have a list that I have bound to a datagridview. I want the first column to be a fixed size. The data is bound to the dataGridView and I can't seem to find a way to access an individual colums properties. if I try myDatagridview.colums[0] I get an index out of bounds, since it says the columns count is 0. private DataGridView setUpDataGrid(List<NVRlineVal> _NVRData) { //setup dataGridView DataGridView NVRDataGridView = new System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView(); NVRDataGridView.ColumnHeadersHeightSizeMode = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumnHeadersHeightSizeMode.AutoSize; NVRDataGridView.Dock = System.Windows.Forms.DockStyle.Fill; NVRDataGridView.AutoSizeColumnsMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnsMode.Fill; NVRDataGridView.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(3, 3); NVRDataGridView.Name = "NVRDataGridView" + nvrIndex; NVRDataGridView.RowHeadersWidthSizeMode = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewRowHeadersWidthSizeMode.AutoSizeToDisplayedHeaders; NVRDataGridView.Size = new System.Drawing.Size(380, 401); NVRDataGridView.TabIndex = 0; NVRDataGridView.DataSource = _NVRData; var test = NVRDataGridView.Columns; NVRDataGridView.DataMember = "devState"; DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.None; } Any ideas on how to have a fixed column width for only one of these columns, the rest will autosize?

  • Declaration, allocation and assignment of an array of pointers to function pointers

    - by manneorama
Hello Stack Overflow! This is my first post, so please be gentle. I've been playing around with C from time to time in the past. Now I've gotten to the point where I've started a real project (a 2D graphics engine using SDL, but that's irrelevant for the question), to be able to say that I have some real C experience. Yesterday, while working on the event system, I ran into a problem which I couldn't solve. There's this typedef, //the void parameter is really an SDL_Event*. //but that is irrelevant for this question. typedef void (*event_callback)(void); which specifies the signature of a function to be called on engine events. I want to be able to support multiple event_callbacks, so an array of these callbacks would be an idea, but do not want to limit the amount of callbacks, so I need some sort of dynamic allocation. This is where the problem arose. My first attempt went like this: //initial size of callback vector static const int initial_vecsize = 32; //our event callback vector static event_callback* vec = 0; //size static unsigned int vecsize = 0; void register_event_callback(event_callback func) { if (!vec) __engine_allocate_vec(vec); vec[vecsize++] = func; //error here! } static void __engine_allocate_vec(engine_callback* vec) { vec = (engine_callback*) malloc(sizeof(engine_callback*) * initial_vecsize); } First of all, I have omitted some error checking as well as the code that reallocates the callback vector when the number of callbacks exceed the vector size. However, when I run this code, the program crashes as described in the code. I'm guessing segmentation fault but I can't be sure since no output is given. I'm also guessing that the error comes from a somewhat flawed understanding on how to declare and allocate an array of pointers to function pointers. Please Stack Overflow, guide me.

  • How to dynamically load a progressive jpeg/jpg in actionscrip-3 using Flash and know it's width/heig

    - by didibus
Hi, I am trying to dynamically load a progressive jpeg using actionscript 3. To do so, I have created a class called Progressiveloader that creates a URLStream and uses it to streamload the progressive jpeg bytes into a byteArray. Everytime the byteArray grows, I use a Loader to loadBytes the byteArray. This works, to some extent, because if I addChild the Loader, I am able to see the jpeg as it is streamed, but I am unable to access the Loader's content and most importantly, I can not change the width and height of the Loader. After a lot of testing, I seem to have figured out the cause of the problem is that until the Loader has completely loaded the jpg, meaning until he actually sees the end byte of the jpg, he does not know the width and height and he does not create a content DisplayObject to be associated with the Loader's content. My question is, would there be a way to actually know the width and height of the jpeg before it is loaded? P.S.: I would believe this would be possible, because of the nature of a progressive jpeg, it is loaded to it's full size, but with less detail, so size should be known. Even when loading a normal jpeg in this way, the size is seen on screen, except the pixels which are not loaded yet are showing as gray. Thank You.

  • Write contents of custom View to large Image file on SD card

    - by JFortney
I have a class that extends View. I override the onDraw method and allow the user to draw on the screen. I am at the point where I want to save this view as an image. I Can use buildDrawingCache and getDrawingCache to create a bitmap that I can write to the SD card. However, the image is not good quality at a large size, it has jagged edges. Since I have a View and I use Paths I can transform all by drawing to a bigger size. I just don't know how to make the Canvas bigger so when I call getDrawingCache it doesn't crop all the paths I am just transformed. What is happening is I transform all my paths but when I write the Bitmap to file I am only getting the "viewport" of the actual screen size. I want something much bigger. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading the docs and books and am at a loss. Thanks Jon

  • Strange(?) Opera Floating

    - by SkaveRat
    I have some strange floating behaviour on opera (IE f's up completely different, but that's for later). I'm floating the i-icons to the right. It works nicely on Fx and WebKit, but opera shifts the icons down a bit. Anyone got an idea how this happenes? CSS: .dataRow { margin: 5px 0; clear:right; } .dataRow label{ display: block; float:left; width: 160px; vertical-align: middle; font-size: 80%; } .dataGroup a img { border:0;float:right; position:relative; right:0; } .dataGroup a:hover { background:#EBEDC7; text-decoration:none; } .dataGroup a.tooltip span { display:none; padding:2px 3px; margin-top:20px; width:100px; font-size: 80%; } .dataGroup a.tooltip:hover span { display:inline; position:absolute; border:1px solid #632D11; background:#C2BD6C; color:#fff; } HTML: <fieldset class="dataGroup"> <div class="dataRow"><label>Foobar:</label> <input name="foobar" size="10" value="somedata" /> <a href="#" class="tooltip"><img src="/img/admin/information.png"/><span>Tooltip Info</span></a></div> </fieldset>

  • Finding character in String in Vector.

    - by SoulBeaver
Judging from the title, I kinda did my program in a fairly complicated way. BUT! I might as well ask anyway xD This is a simple program I did in response to question 3-3 of Accelerated C++, which is an awesome book in my opinion. I created a vector: vector<string> countEm; That accepts all valid strings. Therefore, I have a vector that contains elements of strings. Next, I created a function int toLowerWords( vector<string> &vec ) { for( int loop = 0; loop < vec.size(); loop++ ) transform( vec[loop].begin(), vec[loop].end(), vec[loop].begin(), ::tolower ); that splits the input into all lowercase characters for easier counting. So far, so good. I created a third and final function to actually count the words, and that's where I'm stuck. int counter( vector<string> &vec ) { for( int loop = 0; loop < vec.size(); loop++ ) for( int secLoop = 0; secLoop < vec[loop].size(); secLoop++ ) { if( vec[loop][secLoop] == ' ' ) That just looks ridiculous. Using a two-dimensional array to call on the characters of the vector until I find a space. Ridiculous. I don't believe that this is an elegant or even viable solution. If it was a viable solution, I would then backtrack from the space and copy all characters I've found in a separate vector and count those. My question then is. How can I dissect a vector of strings into separate words so that I can actually count them? I thought about using strchr, but it didn't give me any epiphanies.

  • Python optimization problem?

    - by user342079
    Alright, i had this homework recently (don't worry, i've already done it, but in c++) but I got curious how i could do it in python. The problem is about 2 light sources that emit light. I won't get into details tho. Here's the code (that I've managed to optimize a bit in the latter part): import math, array import numpy as np from PIL import Image size = (800,800) width, height = size s1x = width * 1./8 s1y = height * 1./8 s2x = width * 7./8 s2y = height * 7./8 r,g,b = (255,255,255) arr = np.zeros((width,height,3)) hy = math.hypot print 'computing distances (%s by %s)'%size, for i in xrange(width): if i%(width/10)==0: print i, if i%20==0: print '.', for j in xrange(height): d1 = hy(i-s1x,j-s1y) d2 = hy(i-s2x,j-s2y) arr[i][j] = abs(d1-d2) print '' arr2 = np.zeros((width,height,3),dtype="uint8") for ld in [200,116,100,84,68,52,36,20,8,4,2]: print 'now computing image for ld = '+str(ld) arr2 *= 0 arr2 += abs(arr%ld-ld/2)*(r,g,b)/(ld/2) print 'saving image...' ar2img = Image.fromarray(arr2) ar2img.save('ld'+str(ld).rjust(4,'0')+'.png') print 'saved as ld'+str(ld).rjust(4,'0')+'.png' I have managed to optimize most of it, but there's still a huge performance gap in the part with the 2 for-s, and I can't seem to think of a way to bypass that using common array operations... I'm open to suggestions :D

  • how can i have a working dropdownlist with links from a csv in php

    - by Mark Dekker
    I have a website that loads a CSV, divides it into parts, and shows these parts. There are 7 parts, and since it is for a music store it is sliced like this: the name of the product the subname the price the stock in one shop the stock of the other shop the group name the brandname What i have now is that it shows 12 products on 1 page, with a next and previous link on top of the page. The pages are made with the group name, every group has it's own page, so you have a drums page, guitar page, speaker page. That all works great. What i programmed in there is a dropdownlist, it drops down a list of brandnames, which should narrow the search for a person who is looking at the products. Problem is right now, that the dropdown menu works, i see the brands, but they are NONE clickable, only the brands that are currently on the page are shown, so NOT all the brands from that group are shown, only the 12 that are currently showing, when you press next, it shows 12 more brands, but i want them to be shown right on the start. And the third problem is, when it is showing the brands, it shows them double or triple, depending on how many products have the same brand. Is there a way what i want, with this code as a basis ? <html> <body bgcolor=#E2E965 link=black vlink=black alink=black text=#D5DF23> <style type="text/css"> #nav, #nav ul { padding: 0; margin: 0; list-style: none; } #nav li { float: left; width: 120px; } #nav ul { position: absolute; width: 120px; left: -1000px; } #nav li:hover ul { left: auto; } <!-- a {text-decoration:none} //--> body { scrollbar-arrow-color: #E2E965; scrollbar-face-color: #D7182A; scrollbar-highlight-color: #000000; scrollbar-3dlight-color: #D6DF23; scrollbar-shadow-color: #00000; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #00000; scrollbar-track-color: #D6DF23; } input:link {text-decoration: none; color: #E2E965;} input:visited {text-decoration: none; color: #E2E965;} input:active {text-decoration: none; color: #E2E965;} .spacer_black { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 5px; height: 2px; width: 100%; line-height: 0px; font-size: 0px; background-color: #000000;} </style> <table width=800 border=0><td> </html> <?PHP $offset = isset($_GET['offset'])?$_GET['offset']:0; $LinesToDisplay = 12; $row = $offset + $LinesToDisplay; $row2 = $offset - $LinesToDisplay; $file_handle = fopen("web.txt", "rb"); error_reporting( E_ALL ); // DEBUGGING $SelectArray=array(); while ((($parts = fgetcsv($file_handle,4096,"|")) !== FALSE) && ($LinesToDisplay > 0) && (!feof($file_handle))) { //new code //skip first $offset lines $num = count($parts[6]); $SelectArray[]=$parts[6]; if ($parts[5] == 9999) { if ($offset-- > 0) {continue;} $parts[0] = ucwords(strtolower($parts[0])); $parts[1] = ucwords(strtolower($parts[1])); ?> <td> <?php echo "<table BACKGROUND='background.jpg' border=0 width=250><td width='243' height='105'>"; echo "<font size=-1 face='helvetica' color=#812990><b>$parts[0]</b></font>"; echo "<i>"; ?> <html> <div onMouseOver="this.style.color = 'black';" onMouseOut="this.style.color = '#D5DF23';"> </html><?php echo "<font size=2>-$parts[1]</font>"; echo "</div></i>"; ?><html><a href="#" title="Koop nu de <?php echo $parts[0]; ?>" onClick="window.open('form.php?p=<?php echo urlencode($parts[0]); ?>','popuppage','width=400,height=400,top=250,left=250,resizable=0,statusbar=0,titlebar=yes,toolbar=no,scrollbars=no,location=no,directories=no');"> <div><img src='ster.jpg' border=0 width='46' align='right'></a> <a href="#"><img src='envelope.jpg' border=0 width='46' align='right'title="Heeft u een vraag over <?php echo $parts[0]; ?>" onClick="window.open('vraag.php?p=<?php echo urlencode($parts[0]); ?>','popuppage','width=400,height=400,top=250,left=250,resizable=0,statusbar=0,titlebar=yes,toolbar=no,scrollbars=no,location=no,directories=no');"> <div></a> <TABLE BORDER='0' cellpadding='0' CELLSPACING='0'> <TR> <TD WIDTH='70' HEIGHT='20' BACKGROUND='pricebackground.jpg' VALIGN='bottom'> <center> <font size=2 color=white face='helvetica'> <b></html> <?php echo "€ $parts[2]"; ?> </b> </td> </tr> </table> <?php echo "<b><font size=3 color=#D7182A>Op Voorraad In:<br></font>"; echo ("<font color=black> Amsterdam </font>"); if ( $parts[3] >= 1 ) echo ("<IMG SRC =green.gif>").""; if ( $parts[3] <= 0 ) echo ("<IMG SRC =red.gif>").""; echo ("<font color=black> Utrecht </font>"); if ( $parts[4] >= 1 ) echo ("<IMG SRC =green.gif>")."</td></table></b><p style='margin:9px;'>"; if ( $parts[4] <= 0 ) echo ("<IMG SRC =red.gif>")."</td></table></b><p style='margin:9px;'>"; $LinesToDisplay--; if ($LinesToDisplay/3==intval($LinesToDisplay/3)) { echo "<tr><td>"; } }} fclose($file_handle); ?> <tr align=right> <select style="background-color: #FFFFFF; color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-weight: none; font-size: 12; width: 150px; "> <?php $i=1; foreach ($SelectArray as $val){ echo "<option value=\"$i\">$val</option>\n"; $i++; } ?> </select> <font color=black><body alink=black vlink=black link=black text=black> <center><a href="occasiona.php?offset=<?php echo $row2; ?>" align=center>&laquo; previous</a> || <a href="occasiona.php?offset=<?php echo $row; ?>">next &raquo;</a></table></html>

  • Packet fragmentation when sending data via SSLStream

    - by Ive
When using an SSLStream to send a 'large' chunk of data (1 meg) to a (already authenticated) client, the packet fragmentation / dissasembly I'm seeing is FAR greater than when using a normal NetworkStream. Using an async read on the client (i.e. BeginRead()), the ReadCallback is repeatedly called with exactly the same size chunk of data up until the final packet (the remainder of the data). With the data I'm sending (it's a zip file), the segments happen to be 16363 bytes long. Note: My receive buffer is much bigger than this and changing it's size has no effect I understand that SSL encrypts data in chunks no bigger than 18Kb, but since SSL sits on top of TCP, I wouldn't think that the number of SSL chunks would have any relevance to the TCP packet fragmentation? Essentially, the data is taking about 20 times longer to be fully read by the client than with a standard NetworkStream (both on localhost!) What am I missing? EDIT: I'm beginning to suspect that the receive (or send) buffer size of an SSLStream is limited. Even if I use synchronous reads (i.e. SSLStream.Read()), no more data ever becomes available, regardless of how long I wait before attempting to read. This would be the same behavior as if I were to limit the receive buffer to 16363 bytes. Setting the Underlying NetworkStream's SendBufferSize (on the server), and ReceiveBufferSize (on the client) has no effect.

  • How to make HTML layout whitespace-agnostic?

    - by ssg
If you have consecutive inline-blocks white-space becomes significant. It adds some level of space between elements. What's the "correct" way of avoiding whitespace effect to HTML layout if you want those blocks to look stuck to each other? Example: <span>a</span> <span>b</span> This renders differently than: <span>a</span><span>b</span> because of the space inbetween. I want whitespace-effect to go away without compromising HTML source code layout. I want my HTML templates to stay clean and well-indented. I think these options are ugly: 1) Tweaking text-indent, margin, padding etc. (Because it would be dependent on font-size, default white-space width etc) 2) Putting everything on a single line, next to each other. 3) Zero font-size. That would require overriding font-size in blocks, which would otherwise be inherited. 4) Possible document-wide solutions. I want the solution to stay local for a certain block of HTML. Any ideas, any obvious points which I'm missing?

  • C Programming: malloc() inside another function

    - by vikramtheone
Hi Guys, I need help with malloc() inside another function. I'm passing a pointer and size to the function from my main() and I would like to allocate memory for that pointer dynamically using malloc() from inside that called function, but what I see is that.... the memory which is getting allocated is for the pointer declared withing my called function and not for the pointer which is inside the main(). How should I pass a pointer to a function and allocate memory for the passed pointer from inside the called function? Can anyone throw light on this? Help!!! Vikram I have written the following code and I get the output as shown below SOURCE: main() { unsigned char *input_image; unsigned int bmp_image_size = 262144; if(alloc_pixels(input_image, bmp_image_size)==NULL) printf("\nPoint2: Memory allocated: %d bytes",_msize(input_image)); else printf("\nPoint3: Memory not allocated"); } signed char alloc_pixels(unsigned char *ptr, unsigned int size) { signed char status = NO_ERROR; ptr = NULL; ptr = (unsigned char*)malloc(size); if(ptr== NULL) { status = ERROR; free(ptr); printf("\nERROR: Memory allocation did not complete successfully!"); } printf("\nPoint1: Memory allocated: %d bytes",_msize(ptr)); return status; } PROGRAM OUTPUT: Point1: Memory allocated ptr: 262144 bytes Point2: Memory allocated input_image: 0 bytes

  • UITableViewCell Problem....

    - by balu
    Hi friends... i am creating a Custom reusable UITableViewCell with Three labels and one imageView,and i am removing them in cell's dealloc method... all is working fine but the problem is the text in cell getting Dark while selected... it and it is kind of overlapping on each other help me to avoid that problem... - (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style reuseIdentifier:(NSString *)reuseIdentifier { if (self = [super initWithStyle:style reuseIdentifier:reuseIdentifier]) { NSLog(@"Address for cel called"); NameLbl = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5,5,140,20)]; [self.contentView addSubview:NameLbl]; NameLbl.font =[UIFont fontWithName:@"Times New Roman" size:15]; NameLbl.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:15]; NameLbl.opaque=YES; NameLbl.tag = 1001; AddressLbl = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5,25,140,20)]; [self.contentView addSubview:AddressLbl]; AddressLbl.font =[UIFont fontWithName:@"Times New Roman" size:15]; AddressLbl.opaque=YES; AddressLbl.tag = 1002; CityStateZipLbl = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5,50,150,20)]; [self.contentView addSubview:CityStateZipLbl]; CityStateZipLbl.opaque=YES; CityStateZipLbl.tag = 1003; CityStateZipLbl.font =[UIFont fontWithName:@"Times New Roman" size:15]; } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [CityStateZipLbl release]; [NameLbl release]; [AddressLbl release]; [super dealloc]; }

  • Potential problem with C standard malloc'ing chars.

    - by paxdiablo
When answering a comment to another answer of mine here, I found what I think may be a hole in the C standard (c1x, I haven't checked the earlier ones and yes, I know it's incredibly unlikely that I alone among all the planet's inhabitants have found a bug in the standard). Information follows: Section 6.5.3.4 ("The sizeof operator") para 2 states "The sizeof operator yields the size (in bytes) of its operand". Para 3 of that section states: "When applied to an operand that has type char, unsigned char, or signed char, (or a qualified version thereof) the result is 1". Section 7.20.3.3 describes void *malloc(size_t sz) but all it says is "The malloc function allocates space for an object whose size is specified by size and whose value is indeterminate". It makes no mention at all what units are used for the argument. Annex E startes the 8 is the minimum value for CHAR_BIT so chars can be more than one byte in length. My question is simply this: In an environment where a char is 16 bits wide, will malloc(10 * sizeof(char)) allocate 10 chars (20 bytes) or 10 bytes? Point 1 above seems to indicate the former, point 2 indicates the latter. Anyone with more C-standard-fu than me have an answer for this?

  • Would making plain int 64-bit break a lot of reasonable code?

    - by R..
Until recently, I'd considered the decision by most systems implementors/vendors to keep plain int 32-bit even on 64-bit machines a sort of expedient wart. With modern C99 fixed-size types (int32_t and uint32_t, etc.) the need for there to be a standard integer type of each size 8, 16, 32, and 64 mostly disappears, and it seems like int could just as well be made 64-bit. However, the biggest real consequence of the size of plain int in C comes from the fact that C essentially does not have arithmetic on smaller-than-int types. In particular, if int is larger than 32-bit, the result of any arithmetic on uint32_t values has type signed int, which is rather unsettling. Is this a good reason to keep int permanently fixed at 32-bit on real-world implementations? I'm leaning towards saying yes. It seems to me like there could be a huge class of uses of uint32_t which break when int is larger than 32 bits. Even applying the unary minus or bitwise complement operator becomes dangerous unless you cast back to uint32_t. Of course the same issues apply to uint16_t and uint8_t on current implementations, but everyone seems to be aware of and used to treating them as "smaller-than-int" types.

  • Swing JTable Scrolling not working properly

    - by Marko
I'm doing an application, which uses Swing JTable. I used drag and drop in NetBeans, to add the JTable. When I add the JTable, JScrollPane is added automaticly. All the look is done with drag and drop. By pressing the first button, I set the number of rows in the table. This is the code to set my DataModel int size = 50; String[] colNames = {"Indeks", "Ime", "Priimek", "Drzava"}; DefaultTableModel model = new DefaultTableModel(size, colNames.length); model.setColumnIdentifiers(colNames); table.setModel(model); So if the size is, let's say 10, it works OK, since there is no scroll bar. When I add 50 empty rows, when trying to scroll for 5 seconds, it doesn't work properly and crashes in some time. I added the picture, for better understanding (this is what happens to the rows when I scroll up and down for a while). What could be wrong? Am I not using the DataModel as it is supposed to be used, should I .revalidate() or .repaint() the JTable?

  • Incorrect sizing of a JPanel in a JScrollPane In Java 1.5

    - by Coder
Hi, I am making an image loading component which consists of a JPanel containing a JScrollPane, which in turn contains another JPanel. What this component does is allows images to be dropped on top of it, after which point the image is loaded and the inner most JPanel is set to the size of the image dropped. This in turn causes the scroll bars to show up and the user can scroll the image. This all works fine. The problem comes in when i try to auto-shrink the image to the maximum visible area in the outer JPanel. In this case i do a uniform scale of the image to be less than or equal to the width and height of the outer JPanel. What happens now is that both the horizontal and vertical scroll bars show up indicating the the inner JPanel is bigger than the visible area (which should not be the case). I verified that the image is scale to the proper dimensions(ie. the maximum width and height is respected). I also verified that if i decrease the maximum height by 3 pixels, then no scroll bars appear. What i believe the problem is, is that panel.getWidth() and panel.getHeight() don't actually return the visible area (maximum area) that sub components can take up. Ie. there is likely some more width and height taken up by the border around the JPanel or something like that. My question is, how do i get around this problem. Functionally all i want is to determine the maximum size a JPanel can be in a JScrollPane, then set the panel to that size and paint an image over top of it and be assured that the scroll bars of the scroll pane will not show up. Right now the scroll bars are set to AS_NEEDED. Thanks!
