• Images in crystal report with white background don't show as white

  I'm putting an image in a crystal report (using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005). The image is a product logo with a white background, and the report has a white background too. But when I run the report you can see it's not quite white. The off-white color is barely visible, but it is visible and more so when printed. I've tried a variety of image formats, and tried transparent images too but they don't seem to work (transparent pixels show as black). When I use a different image I notice that the faint non-white color changes - as if it's a function of the colors in the image. Anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions?

• Run a JasperServer reprt via PHP and pass over the querystring.

  I'm using Web Services to run some reports created in iReport on JasperServer. Inside the .jrxml file I can see the xml that holds the SQL for the report. Is it possible to pass this querystring over to JasperServer via Web Services, instead of hard coding the definition inside the .jrxml file. This is the string I would build in PHP, then pass over to JasperServer to be used in the execution of the report. <queryString> <![CDATA[SELECT * FROM table WHERE j=2]]> </queryString> Basically, I'm trying to find a way to dynamically create the SQL in PHP, then pass the SQL over to Jasper to run the report...is it even possible? • Pdssql.dll cannot be found

  I am attempting to open a Crystal Reports 8.5 document, and when I try to set the database to the Production data server, i get the error "Pdssql.dll cannot be found". Googling, this is a common problem, but none of the fixes I tried seem to work. This is a new computer. I do have SQL Server 2008 client tools installed, but I believe previously I had Sql Server 2005 client tools. I attempted to install the SQL Server 2005 client tools, but that didn't go through due to me having 2008 installed. I require 2008 to do my job now. Everything I search for says this is a 16bit driver, and I need to install the 2005 client tools. Unfortunately this cannot be done due to me having 2008. is there some sort of work-around I can do?   Dear community. has anyone experienced any problems with InstallShield on Windows 7. I have a small application which needs Crystal Reports in order to work. So I have included them in the Setup Wizard, which I have made with InstallShield 2010. It works like a charm, except on windows 7. here it jumps right over the prerequisite installer, and jumps right to the installation of the application. I have searched the web, but it does not seem that anyone has experienced anything like it. Any help is appreciated. I am using installScript, but I can convert the project to MSI if it will help.

• Page Footer not showing in Crystal Report

  Hello, I am using Crystal Reports in Visual Studio 2008. I have about 5 pages worth of static text that needs to appear at the top of my report, so I put it in the report header section. I have a page footer section on the page that shows the page number. This does not show, and I suspect it has something to do with the long report header. How can I make the page footer show with a large report header? Edit: The Page Footer is actually appearing once on the last page. The Report Header takes up 5 pages and there isn't a page footer on any of those pages.

  I have made a new report using Crystal Reports 8.5 (report1) which uses a stored procedure as its data source. The stored procedure has 2 input parameters (@p1 and @p2) and when I enter some test data for @p1 and @p2 within crystal report IDE , every thing is all right. Then, I added the report1 in visual basic 6.0 IDE and added a new form (form1) and a crystal report viewer control on form1. Now please help me: I wanna to show the report1. What codes exactly should I write to show it?How send data user has entered to the stored procedure parameters via application? I also get this error messsage: the server has not been opened yet" What's wrong?

• Jasper Report doc export margin problem

  Hi there, Im using Jasper Reports to generate a word (docx) document but I have a problem when I want to try to print the doc. The exporter messes up the margins of the page. Does anyone know how to prevent that from happening. I know how to set the margin in iReport, but it just makes the data generate further from the page borders, but the margins in word which can be adjusted at the top of the page is laying right at the edge.   I have a crystal report consisting of several pages. Each page consists of a several fields that are populated from database. Suppose the following example : Name : aaaaaa Education Background:bbbbbbb Age:cc In my case the Education Background's details (bbbbbbb here) may consist of several words or several pages. If I set a large space for it, it will waste a big space on report (Yes. May be a paper) in a case of short answer. How can I eliminate this problem?   Hi, I have report where report width is more than 2000px; it is working fine with pdf and excel output but when we export for word it is showing 550px; report only other part we are not able to see. We have one report which contains ... abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz when we export for excel or pdf it's working fine but when we export for word it's coming like abcdefg other parts are not visible.   I got the above error in my jasper report mail. The query that is used in the report is quite complicated (for me). Reading different posts I conclude that to solve this the I have to change the query to SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL REPEATABLE READ GO BEGIN TRANSACTION ... my query ... COMMIT TRANSACTION ? I wonder if this is the correct way to solve the error and that if it has any side effects? Has it happened to anyone in the Jasper reports? Does anyone know if there is a better solution exist to the problem? (Although that I have not yet tested the above solution, if anyone can give any insight on this will be helpful.)

  Hello. My application is a product which will have reporting capabilities. The product, when in production, is expected to have several ad-hoc report defined by the end users. I am looking for a platform that can be tailored to harness the business entities and extend reporting capabilities (definition & execution) to the end user. Here are some constraints: From the usability standpoint, I like what MS Access reports offer. But of course it is not suitable for the target web application. However, it certainly is a source of inspiration usability wise. Cost is a constraint. So something recommended from open source world will be appreciated. Otherwise too I'd like to know. The product in question is somewhat 'generic' in nature. Mine is a ASP.Net platform.

  Using MS SQL Server.I have made a Stored Procedure naming "SP_Get_CallsLogged". I have a table named "TRN_Call", and it has one column named "CallTime" which is a DateTime. I have a web-page in my application where the User enters:- 1.StartDate (DateTime) 2.EndDate (DateTime) 3.Period(Daily/Weekly/Monthly) (varchar) (from DropDownList) I want to get the Record Count of those calls in my table *TRN_Call* on the basis of the specified Period(Daily/Weekly/Monthly) selected by user in the DropDownList. e.g. StartDate ='1/18/2010 11:10:46 AM' EndDate ='1/25/2010 01:10:46 AM' Period =Daily So the record count between these above mentioned dates(StartDate+EndDate) should come in a manner so that I can refer to those counts separately i.e. the following:- Date 1/18/2010 Records Found 5 Date 1/19/2010 Records Found 50 Date 1/20/2010 Records Found 15 Date 1/21/2010 Records Found 32 Date 1/22/2010 Records Found 12 Date 1/23/2010 Records Found 15 Date 1/24/2010 Records Found 17 Date 1/25/2010 Records Found 32 and send those Counts to the Web Application so that these counts could be listed then in the Crystal Reports.

  I am using iReport with JasperReports. I want to include multiple subreports that have unrelated sql queries. I would like to be able to put these all on one report. The problem I am facing is that when I leave the master report sql query empty, none of my subreports have any data. There isn't really anything that the master report sends to the subreports since they are unrelated. Basically how do you throw multiple unrelated reports together into one report.

• Errors with large data sources

  I'm doing some benchmarking on large data sources and binding/exporting data for reporting. I started with using a data set, filling it with 100000 rows and then attempting to open a crystal report with the retrieved data. I noticed that the data set filled just fine (took about 779 milliseconds) however, when attempting to export the data to the report or even bind to a gridview the application would fail with an OutOfMemoryException. Does anyone experienced this before or have an idea of how to get around it? It is very possible that clients will run reports for years worth of data and 100000 rows are not inconceivable. The application and the benchmark code are written in C# using ORACLE and SQL Server databases. I still have some data sources to test, but would like to know how to get around this just in case I don't find a better solution.

  Hi everyone, Right now I have an application which uses Reporting Services to render reports. This is working nicely, I call each report with a given value (e.g. a ClientId), and the report gets rendered correctly. However, what I'd like to do now is being able to send multiple ClientIDs to the report, and would like to get 1 pdf file with count(ClientsIDs) pages, each containing the report, according to the ClienID. How is that possible? I don't really know how to name what I want to do, so I don't really find answers on the net right now. Maybe someone has a tutorial for me? Thanks in advance !

  Hi, I have some reporting functionality in my app and I want to improve it a bit. Its only SQL in a XML file which is read by some parser. There can be some params for that SQL and when its parsed and the params are injected, it is executed against my DB (SQL Server). I want to improve that a bit so that the results look better and are more flexible. This are the most important points I need to have: subtotals layout that can change dynamically according to settings in DB (like logo, slogan) possibility to use the same report template for several customers (same fields, but different logos,colors, slogans etc.) should run from an ASP.NET application It should be as dynamic as possible. I know of Crystal Reports and the Microsoft Reporting Tool. Are there any others that might be of interest and are my above points possible at all? Thanks for some ideas and hints :-)...

I have put the Crystal data source and viewer controls on the design page and configured the controls to use the crystal report but cannot seem to figure out how to pass a date to the report which uses it as an input parameter for a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure. • Pentaho - Reporting Tool - Is the .prpt file (report template file) contains datasource information

  I am new Pentaho Reporting Tool. I have the following question: When I created a report using Pentaho Report Designer, it output a report file having .prpt extension. So as we haven't specified any datasource information here, I think that the .prpt file contains that information in it. If that's true than Isn't Jasper is better Reporting tool than Pentaho because when we display Jasper reports, we have to provide datasource details also so in that way our report is flexible and is not bound to any particular database.
