  How can I select all elements within an HTML document with a specific class and specific element type? I'm trying to select all anchors with the class title loggedin from an HTML document (and then open them within the browser). These are within parragraphs with the class title. They are leafs in the following DOM tree: + body + div class='content' + div id='siteTable' class='sitetable linklisting' + div class='thing id-t3_xxxx xxx xxx link' + div class='entry unvoted' + p class='title' + a class='title loggedin ' Where x indicates variable content. (I'm looking to do this in raw JavaScript, ie, not in jQuery.)

• Help porting a bit of Prototype JavaScript to jQuery

  I have already implemented some AJAX pagination in my Rails app by using the example code for the will_paginate plugin--which is apparently using Prototype. But if I wanted to switch to using jQuery for future additions, I really don't want to have the Prototype stuff sitting around too (yes, I know it's possible). • Centralizing a floating element :(

  Hi guys :| My "div" element have a relative width, it isn't absolute so I can't use exact numbers to centralize.   I've been using this snippet of jQuery to get a sticky footer: if($(document.body).height() < $(window).height()){ $("#footer").css({position: "absolute",top:($(window).scrollTop()+$(window).height()-$("#footer").height())+"px", width: "100%"}); } $(window).scroll(positionFooter).resize(positionFooter); However, that breaks when I've got expandable/collapsible divs lying around where the original content was less high than the window, since it is then stuck to the bottom of the window, rather than the bottom of the document. Is there a way of fixing this, or a better way of doing it? Please bear in mind that I don't have much control over the HTML, since I need to do this in Django's admin interface, which doesn't allow much injection of HTML in the places you might want to to accomplish this sort of thing (i.e. this answer and this answer don't work for me).

• Safari's never-ending loading message when an iframe does not have a src

  I'm using @rem's jQuery :visited plugin to do something with visited links on a page. The plugin works by creating an invisible iframe, injecting the HTML source, and comparing the colour of links to see which have been visited. It works perfectly. The problem I have is that on Safari, the status bar message always hangs on "Loading (X-1) of X items" - i.e. it thinks there is still some resource still needing to be loaded. I've narrowed it down to this plugin, and the fact that it attaches the IFRAME element to the BODY before the src is set (or injected in this case). I've tried rearranging the code to set the src before the append happens, but that breaks the plugin's functionality. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue? It's not a major issue as the site still functions perfectly well, but it's an annoying glitch that could be confusing to users.

What is the difference between a desktop build and TFS build that would smother a compiler error like this?

I have a method that gets called when any one of these objects is tapped in. However, I would like the method to execute its code only if the a certain Text Field(s) or a certain Text View(s) is tapped in.   Hello, I want to develop some kind of reports in Asp.net with x-axis and y-axis being dynamics, allowing grouping by row and column, for example: have products in y-axis and date in x-axis having in body number of sells of a given product in a given date, if date in x-axis are years, i want subtotals for each month for a product (row) and subtotals of sells of all products in date (column) I know there are products available to build reports, but i am using Mysql, so Reporting Service is not an option. It's not necessary for the client build additional reports, i think the simplest solution is having a control to display such information and not using crystal report (which is not free) or something more complex, i want to know if is there an available free control to reach my goal. Well, does anybody know a control or have a different idea, thanks in advance.

It's ok to accept. So addListener will hold a function body containing 'apply'. But what I don't understand, when addListener is called, what kind of parameters it is going to have? particularly _method and args will always be uninitialized?

Anyways, I would like to create a number of DIVISION elements and store the reference into an array so it could be accessed later. • How to Format Code in Research Reports

  I am currently writing a formal research report, and I'll be including code with this report. Question: Is there an accepted way of displaying code in research reports? I'm thinking both in terms of font, spacing, et cetera, and whether the code should be displayed inside the document, or in an appendix. The code will be JavaScript and PHP. None of the sections of code will be more than 25 lines (so they're mere snippets). There will be approx. half a dozen snippets. Each of the snippets will have a couple of paragraphs explaining what is happening in the code, and a discussion on its pros/cons. I have no contact with the body the report will be submitted to, and they have no published guidelines on how to format code (please do not question these points). Any help considered and appreciated.

• Extracting Information from Images

  What are some fast and somewhat reliable ways to extract information about images? I've been tinkering with openCV and this seems so far to be the best route plus it has Python bindings. So to be more specific I'd like to determine what I can about what's in an image. So for example the haar face detection and full body detection classifiers are great - now I can tell that most likely there are faces and / or people in the image as well as about how many. okay - what else - how about whether there are any buildings and if so what do they seem to be - huts, office buildings etc? Is there sky visible, grass, trees and so forth. From what I've read about training classifiers to detect objects, it seems like a rather laborious process 10,000 or so wrong images and 5,000 or so correct samples to train a classifier. I'm hoping that there are some decent ones around already instead of having to do this all myself for a bunch of different objects - or is there some other way to go about this sort of thing?

• What is the safest way to subtract two System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.FILETIME objects

  I wonder what is the safest way to subtract two System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.FILETIME objects? I used the following code but sometimes it gives me ArithmaticOverflow exception due to the negative number in Low 32-bit values. I am not sure enclosing the body with unchecked will serve the purpose or not. Please give me some suggestion on how to do it safely without getting any runtime exception or CS0675 warning message. private static UInt64 SubtractTimes(FILETIME a, FILETIME b) { UInt64 aInt = ((UInt64)(a.dwHighDateTime << 32)) | (UInt32)a.dwLowDateTime; UInt64 bInt = ((UInt64)(b.dwHighDateTime << 32)) | (UInt32)b.dwLowDateTime; return aInt - bInt; }
