  • c# wrapper for a c DLL

    - by Without me Its just Aweso
    I'm attempting to write a wrapper so that my C# application can use a DLL written in C. Here is a method defintion that i'm trying to wrap: void methodA(const uint32_t *data); //c header declaration The issue I'm having is trying to figure out how to give a equivalent pointer from c#. In c# I want it to operate on a: UInt32 data[] //my c# object i want to be able to pass in but how do I give an equivalent pointer in my wrapper? I have tried ref data //my attempt at giving an equivalent pointer to the DLL but that doesnt seem to be working. Using debug statements in the DLL I can see that the values it gets that way are not what I'm attempting to pass in. So my question boils down to have do I properly wrap a c fuction that is using a pointer to reference an array?

  • AVAudioRecorder prepareToRecord works, but record fails

    - by iPadDeveloper2011
    I just built and tested a basic AVAudioRecorder/AVAudioPlayer sound recorder and player. Eventually I got this working on the device, as well as the simulator. My player/recorder code is in a single UIView subclass. Unfortunately, when I copy the class into my main project, it no longer works (on the device--the simulator is fine). prepareToRecord is working fine, but record isn't. Here is some code: audioRecorder = [[ AVAudioRecorder alloc] initWithURL:url settings:recordSettings error:&error]; if ([audioRecorder prepareToRecord]){ audioRecorder.meteringEnabled = YES; if(![audioRecorder record])NSLog(@"recording failed!"); }else { int errorCode = CFSwapInt32HostToBig ([error code]); NSLog(@"preparedToRecord=NO Error: %@ [%4.4s])" , [error localizedDescription], (char*)&errorCode); ... I get "recording failed". Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

  • When i close window cookies are destroying in flex

    - by praveen
    Hi, I am using external interface to store cookies in client side of application. Like I have created a cookie in html and i am using those methods in flex using External Interface. I am saving a username in cookie when I re use cookie is displaying, I have deployed in server and i ran like http://localhost/[Path]/index.html.in this html I am embedded swf file and I have saved cookie in html JavaScript, now if I open this url cookie is saving if I open a new window what ever the cookies are a raised and it is loading from start. for cookies saving i am using this code in flex:`package Name{ import flash.external.ExternalInterface; /** * The Cookie class provides a simple way to create or access * cookies in the embedding HTML document of the application. * */ public class Cookies { /** * Flag if the class was properly initialized. */ private static var _initialized:Boolean = false; /** * Name of the cookie. */ private var _name:String; /** * Contents of the cookie. */ private var _value:String; /** * Flag indicating if a cookie was just created. Please help me Thanks in Advance.

  • What is a read only collection in C#?

    - by acidzombie24
    I ran a security code analyst i found myself having a CA2105 warning. I looked at the grade tampering example. I didnt realize you can assign int[] to a readonly int. I thought readonly was like the C++ const and makes it illegal. The How to Fix Violations suggest i clone the object (which i dont want to do) or 'Replace the array with a strongly typed collection that cannot be changed'. I clicked the link and see 'ArrayList' and adding each element one by one and it doesnt look like you can prevent something adding more. So when i have this piece of code what is the easiest or best way to make it a read only collection? public static readonly string[] example = { "a", "b", "sfsdg", "sdgfhf", "erfdgf", "last one"};

  • How to ensure that no non-ascii unicode characters are entered ?

    - by Jacques René Mesrine
    Given a java.lang.String instance, I want to verify that it doesn't contain any unicode characters that are not ASCII alphanumerics. e.g. The string should be limited to [A-Za-z0-9.]. What I'm doing now is something very inefficient: import org.apache.commons.lang.CharUtils; String s = ...; char[] ch = s.toCharArray(); for( int i=0; i<ch.length; i++) { if( ! CharUtils.isAsciiAlphanumeric( ch[ i ] ) throw new InvalidInput( ch[i] + " is invalid" ); } Is there a better way to solve this ?

  • Are memcached entries saved by the Danga client compatible with the Spy client?

    - by jigjig
    After saving a String value into memcached using the Danga client, I attempted to get the entry using the Spy client. The two String values are not the same. The Danga client retrieves a string with an additional empty char prepended to the string, therefore violating the equality condition. Danga: t,e,s,t,s,t,r,i,n,g Spy: ,t,e,s,t,s,t,r,i,n,g I also attempted to save a serialized Map using the Danga client and get the Map using the Spy client. The Spy client is able to only get a String form of the Map. The string contains binary values, as below: sr

  • Is there a more expressive way of executing SQL query using Qt?

    - by ShaChris23
    I currently have this code: // Construct query QString const statement = QString("drop database if exists %1") .arg(databaseName_); QSqlQuery query(db); query.exec(statement); Is there a better way to code than the above? Specifically, I dont like how I use QString for SQL statement. It'd be nice if Qt has some class so that I could do something like: // Construct query QSomeClass statement = "drop database if exists %1"; statement.setArg(1, databaseName_); // Replace all %1 in the original string. QSqlQuery query(db); query.exec(statement);

  • Is a switch statement ok for 30 or so conditions?

    - by DeanMc
    I am in the final stages of creating an MP4 tag parser in .Net. For those who have experience with tagging music you would be aware that there are an average of 30 or so tags. If tested out different types of loops and it seems that a switch statement with Const values seems to be the way to go with regard to catching the tags in binary. The switch allows me to search the binary without the need to know which order the tags are stored or if there are some not present but I wonder if anyone would be against using a switch statement for so many conditionals. Any insight is much appreciated.

  • Why would the assignment operator ever do something different than its matching constructor?

    - by Neil G
    I was reading some boost code, and came across this: inline sparse_vector &assign_temporary(sparse_vector &v) { swap(v); return *this; } template<class AE> inline sparse_vector &operator=(const sparse_vector<AE> &ae) { self_type temporary(ae); return assign_temporary(temporary); } It seems to be mapping all of the constructors to assignment operators. Great. But why did C++ ever opt to make them do different things? All I can think of is scoped_ptr?

  • Construct a LPCWSTR on WinCE in C++ (Zune/ZDK)

    - by James Cadd
    What's a good way to construct an LPCWSTR on WinCE 6? I'd like to find something similar to String.Format() in C#. My attempt is: OSVERSIONINFO vi; memset (&vi, 0, sizeof vi); vi.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof vi; GetVersionEx (&vi); char buffer[50]; int n = sprintf(buffer, "The OS version is: %d.%d", vi.dwMajorVersion, vi.dwMinorVersion); ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox(buffer, MESSAGEBOX_TYPE_OK); That ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox refers to the ZDK for hacked Zunes available at: http://zunedevwiki.org This line of code works well with the message box call: ZDKSystem_ShowMessageBox(L"Hello Zune", MESSAGEBOX_TYPE_OK); My basic goal is to look at the exact version of WinCE running on a Zune HD to see which features are available (i.e. is it R2 or earlier?). Also I haven't seen any tags for the ZDK so please edit if something is more fitting!

  • Compilation Error on Recursive Variadic Template Function

    - by Maxpm
    I've prepared a simple variadic template test in Code::Blocks, but I'm getting an error: No matching function for call to 'OutputSizes()' Here's my source code: #include <iostream> #include <typeinfo> using namespace std; template <typename FirstDatatype, typename... DatatypeList> void OutputSizes() { std::cout << typeid(FirstDatatype).name() << ": " << sizeof(FirstDatatype) << std::endl; OutputSizes<DatatypeList...>(); } int main() { OutputSizes<char, int, long int>(); return 0; } I'm using GNU GCC with -std=C++0x. Using std=gnu++0x makes no difference.

  • Fast read of certain bytes of multiple files in C/C++

    - by Alejandro Cámara
    I've been searching in the web about this question and although there are many similar questions about read/write in C/C++, I haven't found about this specific task. I want to be able to read from multiple files (256x256 files) only sizeof(double) bytes located in a certain position of each file. Right now my solution is, for each file: Open the file (read, binary mode): fstream fTest("current_file", ios_base::out | ios_base::binary); Seek the position I want to read: fTest.seekg(position*sizeof(test_value), ios_base::beg); Read the bytes: fTest.read((char *) &(output[i][j]), sizeof(test_value)); And close the file: fTest.close(); This takes about 350 ms to run inside a for{ for {} } structure with 256x256 iterations (one for each file). Q: Do you think there is a better way to implement this operation? How would you do it?

  • Conseqences of assigning self

    - by Vegar
    Hi, Found a piece of code today, that I find a little smelly... TMyObject.LoadFromFile(const filename: String); begin if fileExists(filename) then self := TSomeObjectStreamer.ReadObjectFromFile(filename); end; If this code works, it will atleast leak some memory, but does it work? Is OK to assign to self in this manner? What if the streamed object is of a different subclass then the original self? What if the streamed object is of a different class with no common ancestore to the original self?

  • IE error with jquery counter plugin

    - by Mankey
    I've implemented a jquery counter script (count up from say 50 to 100 with different increments) that I found from this question: jQuery counter to count up to a target number The scripts works great except for in Internet Explorer 8 (and possibly other IE versions?). Here's an error message from IE with the URL to the creator of the script's demo. Message: 'undefined' is null or not an object Line: 32 Char: 17 Code: 0 URI: http://www.ulmanen.fi/stuff/counter.php I'm just wondering if anyone know how this can be fixed. I'm guessing it has to do with el.html() not finding any data but I can't really figure this out. Thanks for any help ^^ I would reply to that post if I could but I can't seem to find any way of doing so (I'm new to stackoverflow, I think I lack privileges).

  • Heap corruption detected error when attempting to free pointer

    - by AndyGeek
    Hi, I'm pretty new to C++ and have run into a problem which I have not been able to solve. I'm trying to convert a System::String to a wchar_t pointer that I can keep for longer than the scope of the function. Once I'm finished with it, I want to clean it up properly. Here is my code: static wchar_t* g_msg; int TestConvert() { pin_ptr<const wchar_t> wchptr = PtrToStringChars("Test"); g_msg = (wchar_t*)realloc(g_msg, wcslen(wchptr) + 1); wcscpy(g_msg, wchptr); free (g_msg); // Will be called from a different method } When the free is called, I'm getting "HEAP CORRUPTION DETECTED: after Normal block (#137) at 0x02198F90." Why would I be getting this error? Andrew L

  • C++ Memory Allocation & Linked List Implementation

    - by pws5068
    I'm writing software to simulate the "first-fit" memory allocation schema. Basically, I allocate a large X megabyte chunk of memory and subdivide it into blocks when chunks are requested according to the schema. I'm using a linked list called "node" as a header for each block of memory (so that we can find the next block without tediously looping through every address value. head_ptr = (char*) malloc(total_size + sizeof(node)); if(head_ptr == NULL) return -1; // Malloc Error .. :-( node* head_node = new node; // Build block header head_node->next = NULL; head_node->previous = NULL; // Header points to next block (which doesn't exist yet) memset(head_ptr,head_node, sizeof(node)); ` But this last line returns: error: invalid conversion from 'node*' to 'int' I understand why this is invalid.. but how can I place my node into the pointer location of my newly allocated memory?

  • How do you write byte[] array using log4.net

    - by like.no.other
    Hi, I have a byte[] with some data in it, I would like to write this byte array AS-IS to the log file using log4.net. The problems that i am facing is that There are no overload for byte[] in TextWriter, so even implementing an IObjectRenderer is of no use. I dont have access to the underlying Stream object of Log4.net Also tried converting byte[] into char[] still when i write it, it adds an extra byte. Is this even possible with Log4.net. Thanx in Advance.

  • llvm clang struct creating functions on the fly

    - by anon
    I'm using LLVM-clang on Linux. Suppose in foo.cpp I have: struct Foo { int x, y; }; How can I create a function "magic" such that: typedef (Foo) SomeFunc(Foo a, Foo b); SomeFunc func = magic("struct Foo { int x, y; };"); so that: func(SomeFunc a, SomeFunc b); // returns a.x + b.y; ? Note: So basically, "magic" needs to take a char*, have LLVM parse it to get how C++ lays out the struct, then create a function on the fly that returns a.x + b.y; Thanks!

  • Get the lua command when a c function is called

    Supposed I register many different function names in Lua to the same function in C. Now, everytime my C function is called, is there a way to determine which function name was invoked? for example: int runCommand(lua_State *lua) { const char *name = // getFunctionName(lua) ? how would I do this part for(int i = 0; i < functions.size; i++) if(functions[i].name == name) functions[i].Call() } int main() { ... lua_register(lua, "delay", runCommand); lua_register(lua, "execute", runCommand); lua_register(lua, "loadPlugin", runCommand); lua_register(lua, "loadModule", runCommand); lua_register(lua, "delay", runCommand); } So, how do I get the name of what ever function called it?

  • Convert CString to string (VC6)

    - by Yan Cheng CHEOK
    I want to convert CString to string. (Yup. I know what am I doing. I know the returned string will be incorrect, if CString value range is outside ANSI, but That's Is OK!) The following code will work under VC2008. std::string Utils::CString2String(const CString& cString) { // Convert a TCHAR string to a LPCSTR CT2CA pszConvertedAnsiString (cString); // construct a std::string using the LPCSTR input std::string strStd (pszConvertedAnsiString); return strStd; } But VC6 doesn't have CT2CA macro. How I can make the code to work as well in both VC6 and VC2008?

  • Scaling up an image

    - by codefail
    How do I fulfill the condition "returns the entire scaled up image" If I am coding this correctly, scaleColor handles individual colors, getRed handles the red, etc. I am multiplying this by the input, numTimes, which will create a new image that is scaled up it. This scaled up (increase size) is to be returned. This is what I have. Image Image::scaleUp(int numTimes) const { for (int x = 0; x < width; x++) { for (int y = 0; y < height; y++) { pixelData[x][y].scaleColor(pixelData[x][y].scaleRed(pixelData[x][y].getRed()*numTimes)); pixelData[x][y].scaleColor(pixelData[x][y].scaleGreen(pixelData[x][y].getGreen()*numTimes)); pixelData[x][y].scaleColor(pixelData[x][y].scaleBlue(pixelData[x][y].getBlue()*numTimes)); } } //return Image(); }

  • Typical text encoding and EOL behavior on mobile devices

    - by Dan W
    Typical things to worry about when dealing with text are the BOM/signature, encoding, and the end of line (EOL) char/chars. I know that Windows often favours \r\n (CR+LF) and Mac/Linux favours \n (LF), but how about popular mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android? Do typical apps on those platforms favour one or the other (or maybe even \r for iOS)? I'll supply both types to the user just in case, but I'd like to choose one as default. Also, which text encodings are mobiles most likely to use - UTF-8, iso-8859-1, Windows 1252 (or other default codepage) or maybe even UTF-16? And if they use UTF-8/16, are they likely to need (or require not having) a BOM/signature? What is the typical behavior here? Once again, I'll supply a range of encodings to the user just in case, but I'd like to prioritize or use certain encodings as default if it's appropriate.
