  • Saving an XML that has invalid characters

    there are code snippets that strip the invalid characters inside a string before we save it as an XML ... but I have one more problem: Let's say my user wants to have a column name like "[MyColumnOne] ...so now I do not want to strip these "[","] well because these are the ones that user has defined and wants to see them so if I use some codes that are stripping the invalid characters they are also removing "[" and "[" but in this case I still need them to be saved... what can I do?

This codes allocates huge data arrays in memory to speed up its performance, therefore the author of the code has chosen C instead of C++ claiming that one can make faster and more reliable (concerning memory leaks) code with C. Do you agree with that? What would be your choice, if you need to store 4-16 Gb of data arrays in memory during calculation?

    i am writing a program to test WCF service performance in high concurrency circumstance. On client side, i start many threads to call a WCF service function which returns a long list of data object. On server side, in that function called by my client, i need to know the number of clients calling the function. For doing that, i set a counter variable. In the beginning of the function, i add the counter by 1, but how can i decrease it after the funtion has returned the result? int clientCount=0; public DataObject[] GetData() { Interlocked.Increment(ref clientCount); List<DataObject> result = MockDb.GetData(); return result.ToArray(); Interlocked.Decrement(ref clientCount); //can't run to here... } i have seen a way in c++. Create a new class named counter. In the constructor of the counter class, increase the variable. And decrease it in the destructor. In the function, make a counter object so that its constructor will be called. And after the function returns, its destructor will be called.     I have been trying to create a gui that calculates trigonometric functions based off of the user's input.     hello! I am using php and i have written codes to allow a user upload a file. For testing purposes, i have saved the file to D:/final/temp/test.xls. Then i generate another file and save it to the same location. This file can be downloaded by the user. But if an actual user would be using my application, where should the location point to?
