  • Add widgets to custom WordPress sidebars on theme activation?

    I'm working on a WordPress 3.0 multi-site installation. Each new blog will use the same theme with slight modifications (a custom Thesis install, if it matters). I'm trying to automate the set-up process for each new blog as much as possible. To that end, I'd like to automatically add widgets to my custom sidebars and widget-enabled footers. It'd be even better if the widgets could have pre-set parameters/content, that I or the blog owner could then go into the Widgets panel and edit. I've searched high and low and haven't been able to figure out a way to make this work. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks so much!

    I do have a third party product (Jira) that has Active Directory integration via LDAP. I want to enable Jira administrators to edit group memberships and have them syncronized inside Active Directory. This currently works but I needed to use a Domain Administrator service account in order to do this. The question is how can I do this without giving the entire Domain Administrator permission to the service account.

  • How to add "loading" screen for UIWebView app each time new page is being loaded?

    I have an app that works with tabs and webview. I already have it setup to refresh the page assigned to a tab each time the item on tabbar is selected. My problem now is that it takes some time to load the page and it's impossible to say if the page being displayed is the old or refreshed one. What I want to do is add a "loading" screen (a simple image) which will be displayed until the refreshed page is loaded.   • How to add ONLY system tray icon to application?

    I am developing an application that will be running behind the scenes in Windows and would like to put an icon in the system tray for troubleshooting purposes (simple way for users to tell if the app is running). There is no other UI for the application, and the icon does not need to have any functionality as of right now. All of the solutions I have found as of yet involve creating a form. I am wondering if there is a way to simply add a class to my current C# code that allows me to control the icon, rather than doing the whole 'make a form, set it to be invisible....' nonsense that seems to be the popular suggestion on the forums. Something along the lines of the way that UI control is done in say, Swing for Java. I would really appreciate any ideas! (Sorry if this is a n00b question...I haven't used C# before...)     Hi all, I've tried to figure out what Microsoft means by "Windows sockets" and it all seems very vague. Basically we have customers that sometimes try to set up workgroups with close to 10 Windows XP computers with drive and printer shares and we're worried that some of the non-Windows Ethernet devices on the network will cause issues with the inbound connection limit outlined here where only 10 inbound connections can be active at one time. For example, there is an Ethernet Caller ID device that broadcasts UDP packets to all computers, and a kitchen display system that likewise broadcasts UDP. They may also have incoming TCP packets for our custom online ordering module. Do these TCP/UDP connections count toward the inbound connection limit? I'm aware that Windows 7 has increased the limit to 20 but we might have future customers that will push that limit. Thanks in advance

    I have a generated HTML file which has large blocks of text with span's sprinkled throughout it with generated class names: This <span class="21232">an example</span> of what <span class="332423"> I'm talking</span> about. There are span's with <span class="21232"> generated ID's </span>. Now, what I'm seeking to do, is if I hover over any of my spans, they will add a border to not only that span, but all other spans that share that same class. So, if I were to hover over the first span, it would wrap a border around "an example" and "generated ID's" because the first and third span share the same class name. I was pretty sure I couldn't do it in straight CSS. Is this possible using jQuery? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction for doing this as simply as possible?

  • Is it possible to add a WiFi HotSpot to an already established LAN, keep the two separate, and not modify the primary router?

    I have a set up where my Cisco ASA is sitting in one facility, providing access to the Internet for two buildings. The two buildings are geographically separated by a Wireless Bridge spanning about 10 miles. All computers and equipment inside the LAN are on the same subnet (its pretty small) and we have WiFi AP's in both locations providing Wired and Wireless access to the LAN. Given all the BYOD (Ipods, and SmartPhones etc...) coming into the office as well as Visiting reps etc... we would like to also provide a non-secure, device independent (the devices cannot see or communicate with each other), and LAN independent (the devices cannot see or use anything on the LAN) HotSpot that anyone could use for their Devices that gives them access to the Internet ONLY without needing a password. I get that this could be possible at the facility with my Cisco if I messed with it and created VLANs etc... but then I would need to get it across my Bridge as well and don't think that would be possible without serious reconfiguration of everything. Would really like some kind of magic drop in solution that can kind of piggy back on my LAN without really needing to do very many if any changes to the current set up.

  • How do I add jars needed to compile a maven project if they were never built with a pom?

    I'm just starting with maven, coming from years of working with Ant. I'm trying a basic task now, building a simple project that requires some libraries from a vendor. I have the jars in src\main\resources\VENDORNAME. When I run mvn compile it fails on compilation saying the libraries don't exist. I can't seem to add these as dependencies because I don't know their version number and as they are proprietary I can't find them in ibiblio or elsewhere. Without these Jars I can't compile my classes. Is there a way to use jars that didn't follow Maven's convention? I might not understand maven correctly, so any guidance is welcome. Much appreciated for any responses.

  • Allied Telesis router: IP filtering for the LOCAL interface

    Given an Allied Telesis router with an AlliedWare OS (2.9.1) I would like to disable access to all management services of the router except for a number of subnets (or alternatively have what is a "management VLAN" with other manufacturers' switch and router models). What I have tried so far: creating a new VLAN and an appropriate IP interface, setting the LOCAL IP into this subnet, creating an IP filter for the IP interface and specifying my exclusion subnets: it simply does not work as intended as I can access the LOCAL IP set from any of the other VLAN interfaces - the traffic is apparently not going through my defined filter set at all creating a new IP filter set and binding it to the LOCAL IP interface: this seems not to affect any kind of traffic at all, the counters for the filter set remain at zero packets setting the Remote Security Officer Level IP address range: this only restricts the ability for a user with the Security Officer privilege level to log in from any but the specified address ranges / subnets. Unfortunately, it does not prevent service availability (and thus DoS capacity) or the ability to log in as a less privileged user (e.g. a "manager") calling technical support: unfortunately no solution so far What I have not tried: creating a filter set for each and every IP interface defined on the router and excluding access to the router's management IP: I would like to reduce the overhead induced by IP filters as the router already is CPU-constrained at times. Setting up filters for every IP interface would mean that each and every traffic packet would have to pass the filters, thus consuming CPU cycles. If by any means possible, I would like to find a different solution.

    I'm trying to use Ditto on the Ditto documentation. If I were to copy the table of contents, then paste it (without Ditto) to the word processor, I get http://i.imgur.com/V1GU3.png, and the formatting is maintained. As as a result of the copy operation, the table of contents also goes into the Saved Items List (= History List = Lists the Clips saved from the Clipboard) in Ditto’s Main Window: I open a blank document to paste from Ditto instead of the default clipboard, and press either Ctrl-`, the default Ditto window activation Global Hot Key, or click the tray icon. From this point, I can do 3 things to close the Ditto window, and place the item on the clipboard (the default clipboard?). Select the item, and press Enter Put the cursor on the item, and double-click Select the item, and press Ctrl-c 1) and 2) send a right-click where the cursor is, after the Ditto window closes (presumably to have the paste option ready to access?): Ctrl-c just closes the Ditto window. Whichever method is used, the contents are pasted in what I believe is plain text: http://i.imgur.com/mQAZH.png How do I keep the formatting that the default clipboard keeps? Thanks.
