  • oracle apphelp.dll not working properly/crash

    hi all, i've been reinstalling my oracle and somehow when im trying to start them, it says that apphelp.dll is missing. when i lookup in c:/window/systems32 the apphelp.dll was there. i also download new from internet and try to replace them in case it crash but it said that i cannot delete the file coz it's still running. my question is, if i was doing the right thing by replacing the apphelp.dll can solve my problem, how can i stop this apphelp.dll? thanks

  • Remove app in Win7 that was auto-published with Windows Xp Mode

    I have several copies/instances of my xp mode image and have a bunch of apps that were auto-published to Win7. I have since disabled the "auto-publish" apps in the instances but still have the applications listed. What is the correct/best way to clear them out. I read a post somewhere that you can just delete the shortcut in the start menu but I want to remove all links and don't know if that would suffice? Thanks TK

  • Is there any way to do an emacs-like yank in vim?

    In emacs, yanking works something like this: if you delete something, it can be yanked back into another position. In other words, emacs's yank is sort of like cut and paste. On the other hand, it seems like vim's yank is like copy and paste: I can yank something and then paste it elsewhere, but the original text is still there. Is there any way to cut the text rather than just copying it in vim?

  • Program to swap files between drives?

    Has anyone built a program/script to transfer files between 2 hard drives, but like if both are near full....so one copies 1 file over then the other copies the other file, then they delete the files that were copied? Kind of annoying, have a 6tb raid at about 4tb full, then 1 4.5tb basically full, can't really swap them easily....without doing many copies and deletes of files.... Anyone know a way to make them just swap? lol

    One fast question: if I buy an iPad 3G in Europe will it work on other places without jailbreak? I ask this because I heard that, in Europe, iPads are not blocked to any telecom but I am not sure about that. On the other hand I am afraid do buy because I know that their cousins, iphones, are blocked to a specific telecom. Another question is regarding activation. As far as I remembered, my iPhone required me to do an activation step on iTunes and I remember it was also activated (or whatever) on the store (I remembered the salesman connected it to a computer and did some stuff before giving me the device). Is the iPad in europe totally free of operator? totally unblocked? thanks.

  • Lotus Notes: Searching email by fields

    I'm using Lotus Notes 8.5.2 in a large corporate deployment. I'm trying to figure out how to search my email in a structured manner, e.g. by specifying criteria on fields. The help seems to suggest that I can use fields in square brackets and a list of operators, e.g. to find all mail where the From field contains John, I'd search for /[From] CONTAINS John However, I can't get this to work - any operator style query I've tried returns zero documents. "Web-style" queries (e.g. typing John into the search dialog) work, but I'd really prefer a way that would let me search more precisely. Potential issues: I'm assuming that the field names can be taken from the list of things I see when I open a mail and look at its Document Properties. Full text indexing is turned off for my mailbox, and all my attempts to create my own have failed. Does anyone have better information on searching by from/date/subject conditions in Notes?

Also, I have a discussion board retention policy right now that isn't working properly. The criteria is: Last Updated + 30 days Delete There are plenty of dicussion items that are long past "Last Updated". Any ideas why?

However, the thing that is annoying is that this will highlight all occurrences of "search_text" after performing the operation.   • Speed-up large number of files deletion on NTFS volumes

    Every now and then I need to delete a folder containing something like 500k files from an NTFS volume. I do this with Windows Explorer. Since NTFS journals all the service data changes each deletion is carried out serially and so the whole 500k files deletion takes ages. I remember when I did the same in FAT32 it ran uncomparably faster. Is there any way to speed up deletion of large number of files on NTFS volumes?

    I am trying to watch some videos stored on my desktop computer on the Xbox, but they are in a format that the Xbox cannot decode, so I have to stream them through Windows Media Center.     I'm using a Linux machine at work, and started using at home in a VM for some home development. I have a vimrc and a bashrc with some configuration, that are useful for both machines. What is the best way to sync them? Create a symlink for each file in my home folder pointing out to a the respectives files in my Dropbox sync folder? Is this possible (delete .bashrc and create a symlink instead)?

    I want to backup my AWS snapshots to a completely separate AWS account for additional security (if my AWS credentials were acquired someone could delete all my snapshots and volumes). But I'm a bit stumped on how to do this. There doesn't seem to be a way to store a volume or snapshot in S3 such that another user could access that data in s3 and store it in a separate AWS account.   • How can I direct rsync output / log to the remote server?

    I am able to output rsync logs on the client machine using --log-file=FILE but I want the output to be sent to the server instead. The client is a W7 machine (cygwin) and the server a Linux NAS. This is the command I use which successfully logs the file on the client.
