What is the best way to display a large chunk of text (taken from a .txt file in the app) in a UIScrollView so a user can scroll about it? Length of the text is variable.
I would like to launch a Scala Swing application from the command line, then after the application is started, drop into the Scala REPL to use as a control interface.
Ideally I would also like to pre-bind some variable names. Even better would be using a Java2D terminal emulator for the REPL, but I couldn't find anything appropriate.
Does the Scala REPL have a public API?
I am currently studying the implementation of programming languages and became interested in using Continuation-Passing Style as the intermediate language of the compiler. I also want to implement limited dynamic scope (for exception-handling or Scheme parameter objects) but I cannot find the relevant literature. I think it can be done with a separate environment passed as a variable to every closure, but this solution seems ugly to me.
Could anyone point me to the relevant literature, or give me an idea of how this can be done?

I have a Linq query and I want to pass the ouput (userid) to another form for further processing.

so only 'UserId' is stored in variable 'userid' and I want to use this value in another form.
Is there any way we can do this.

I'm writing a crossplatform python script on windows using Eclipse with the Pydev plugin. The script makes use of the os.symlink() and os.readlink() methods if the current platform isn't NT.
Since the os.symlink() and os.readlink() methods aren't available on the windows platform Pydev flags them as undefined variables--like so:
Is there a way to explicitly ignore certain undefined variable name errors (e.g. os.symlink())?
I would like to put a large variable definition in a separate file for the sake of getting it out of the way. I must be doing something wrong though, because my puts call isn't putting anything out.
my_class.rb:

I would like to use the jquery slideUp effect when the user navigates away from the page just to make the page look cool as it closes.
I assume that I should use the onunload event but how can I delay the page closing long enough for the effect to run to completion.
One of the options that came to mind is effectively hijacking the page closing function, storing it in some variable and then executing it once I had run my effect but I have no idea how I would do that.
Any suggestions or alternative ideas are more than welcome

I have a BigInteger value, let's say it is 282 and is inside the variable x. I now want to write a while loop that states:

How would I do such a thing using BigInteger?

I have a variable which is <type 'datetime.timedelta'> and I would like to compare it against certain values.
Lets say d produces this datetime.timedelta value 0:00:01.782000
I would like to compare it like this:
#if d is greater than 1 minute
if d>1:00:
print "elapsed time is greater than 1 minute"
I have tried converting datetime.timedelta.strptime() but that does seem to work. Is there an easier way to compare this value?

I can't seem to find a variable for it. The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to do a sync of the contacts to my web server and I don't feel like checking for each contact with a HTTP request if it needs updating.
So I was thinking to check the date of the last update to the date of the last sync.

A function 'xyx' (it updates a variable) needs to be called every 2 minutes.
I want one http request should start the daemon and keep calling xyz (every 2 minutes) until I send another http request to stop it.

I got some question about nested javascript objects (is it me, google or is javascript quite poorly documented?). Now, I got the following (nested) object:

next thing I do is to reference the subobject like this:
var s = obj.subObj;
now what I would like to do, is to get a reference to the object obj out of the variable s.
Something like:
var o = s.parent;
Is this somehow possible?
I would like to add some controls to the SketchFlow player. For example, I would like to add a combo box with a list of values for a specific variable, and selecting a value will make a specific screen/state show up in the SketchFlow player canvas. Is this possible? I have seen that using the PlayerContext allows access to some controls/events in the Player, but I am not sure how extensible the Player itself is.
I have two C files and one header that are as follows:

I was warned about 'duplicate definition' when compiling. I understand the cause as the variable c is defined twice in both file1.c and file2.c; however, I do need to reference the header.h in both c files. How should I overcome this issue?

I'm working on a project where the user can insert data into a document using fields, document properties and variables. The user also needs to be able to remove the data from the document. So far, I've managed to remove the document property and variable, but I'm not sure how I would go about removing the field (that's already inserted into the document). Please advise.
