Is there a way to get the values of various properties of a (both .NET and non-.NET) DLL via C#?
I'd like to read the 'Product name' field in particular.
MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?
For OpenSocial, it requries that you have a separate webserver with a non-self-signed SSL Cert. Can I run one app server for multiple websites or is it always one server per website that will actually be running opensocial?
Also, can the app server be the same server that is hosting the website?
If I use send() on a non-blocking tcp socket in Linux will it return EAGAIN for anything other than a send buffer full condition?
I basically need to decide if I want to use the socket send buffer as the only buffer for my app or if I need my own user space buffer to feed the socket buffer.
How could can I get the caret position from within an input field.
I have seen a few bits and pieces on google but nothing bullet proof.
Basically something like a Jquery plugin would be ideal so I could simply do
$("#myinput").caretPosition()
I realise there may by other non-jQuery solutions and these would also be brilliant if anyone has any??
I have a Makefile which runs fine from a bash shell, but fails to run from Eclipse. This is because the path I am setting in my .bash_profile is not getting used.
What is the best way of making this happen? Is there somewhere else I could put the path, to make sure it is invoked in non-interactive shells (which is I assume how eclipse is running make)?
I need to build Boost with a non-standard set of flags (due to a conflict between Boost threading and C++/CLI). I'm adding the required flag (/clr) using CXXFLAGS, but this flag conflicts with the Boost default /EHs flag (/clr implies /EHa which is incompatible with /EHs), so that needs to be suppressed. Is there a mechanism like CXXFLAGS to suppress a default Boost flag or must I edit all of the compiler specification files by hand?
I'm having a fight with QA over a bug listing that says: "- Cannot Submit changes on this page - the data is not saved to the database."
I threw it back saying it's non-reproducible. QA argues it's valid.
Is a bug like that ever good enough?
Isn't
A a = new A(); // A is a class name
supposed to work in C++?
I am getting:
conversion from 'A*' to non-scalar
type 'A' requested
Whats wrong with that line of code?
Code Sinnpet:
int CreateaTCPSocket()
{
int iSockID = ACE_OS::socket(......);
ACE_OS::set_flags(iSockID,O_NONBLOCK);
ACE_OS::bind();
if (ACE_OS::connect(iSockID ,....) < 0)
{
if (ACE_OS::select(.....,timeout) <= 0)
{
return INVALID_HANDLE;
}
}
return iSockID;
}
My question is when connect is failed for non-block error and select is called and say select return success then again we need to call connect or select function internal do connect?
I have a few field in my entity that i wish to be non-editable. Looking in the docs it seems like "EditableAttribute" would do the trick. However this is only 4.0
Just wondering if there are other attributes that would have the desire effect. So be clear,
i have a field called "DateRegistered" i wish to display this as string not text field using "Html.EditorFor"
With jQuery, how can I display a flash message at the top of the page in an easy way? Is there something built-in, or a plugin, or is it easy enough to do it yourself?
What I mean is like after a successful ajax post I would like to just say "hey, it went good" in a non-obtrusive way.
I'm looking at the possibility of using Android as a secure corporate mobile platform.
One of the pre-requisites for this will be a way of managing multiple devices, security policies, software deployment, that sort of thing - essentially the things the BlackBerry Enterprise Server handles for BlackBerry or MDM (or something 3rd party like SOTI) handles for Windows Mobile.
Does such a thing exist for Android? It's a platform we're interested in but without this right now (and we're not in a position to build it ourselves) it's a non-starter.
I'm trying to find a good metaphor to explain memory allocation, initialization and freeing in c to a non technical audience. I've heard pass-by-reference/value talked about quite well with postal service usage, but not so much for allocation/deallocation.
So for I've thought about using the idea of renting a space might work, but I wonder if the SO crew can provide something better.
I've set up a view which combines all the data across several tables. Is there a way to write this so that only columns which contain non-null data are displayed, and those columns which contain all NULL values are not included?
I am hoping to create 3 (non-negative) quasi-random numbers that sum to one, and repeat over and over.
Basically I am trying to partition something into three random parts over many trials.
While I am aware of
a= runif(3,0,1)
I was thinking that I could use 1-a as the max in the next run if, but it seems messy.
But these of course don't sum to one. Any thoughts, oh wise stackoverflow-ers?
Hi,
Is there a way to know if a remote object implements an interface (I cannot change/add methods to the remote object).
Indeed I cannot use a IsAssignableFrom nor the "as" to test since it's a remote object. Then I have an exception when I try to call a non implemented methods.
Thx
I am facing this problem when I try to run OracleDBConsoleoracle in oracle 11
"Windows could not start the OracleDBConsoleoracle on Local Computer.For more information,
review the System Event Log.If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to
service-specific error code 2."
Noteice:I was online when I installed Oracle 11.
What's the problem?
Thanks...
Say you had a timestamp function and then wanted to create a new function to combine your timestamp and Console.WriteLine(), e.g.
public static void Write(string msg)
{
WriteTimeStamp();
Console.WriteLine( msg );
}
But the WriteLine() method has 18 or so overloads, which will not be reflected in the signature of the wrapper function. How would you have the wrapper take non-strings and pass them on to WriteLine()?
hi

I need to find the certain driver variables for unit sales & their impact on sales. My data is such data the error does not follow normal distribution & the unit sales is also not following any particular statistical distribution. Given such condition, it is difficult for me to use simple liner regression or GLM.
Can any of you please suggest me some non parametric regression technique which I can use in R to model the relationship?
Thanks,
I'm building a new site that consists entirely of:
8-10 pages of static content that rarely changes (like once every few months or once every year)
An image gallery
Since I don't plan to be the primary maintainer of the site, I'd like to use a CMS with some security and a WYSIWYG editor so non-web-savvy people can tweak the site when necessary.
I started out using Drupal, but started wondering if it was overkill. So, two questions: 1) is it overkill? 2) What CMS would you recommend for a project this simple?
Is there any guidance on creating apps that will run on both professional (touch-screen) and standard (non-touch-screen) devices.
I have a simple application that is mostly text and buttons that in theory should be able to run on both professional and standard devices with little if any modification.
It seems the IDE wants to make this hard to impossible, but I expect it to be possible.
Any advice?
