    Hey guys, I would like to have group based restrictions that would allow users to access only specified parts of the web. I am new to the whole ACL stuff and I didn't quite get it from the manual :/ therefore I would like to ask some questions. But before any questions, my routes look like this: Router::connect('/', array('controller' => 'users', 'action' => 'login')); Router::connect('/admin/:controller/:action/*', array('prefix' => 'admin', 'admin' => true)); Router::connect('/registered/:controller/:action/*', array('prefix' => 'registered', 'registered' => true)); 1.) How do I restrict users from any other group than Administrator to access ONLY the /registered/ part of the web 2.) How do I prevent anyone from using the default addresses like www.example.com/users/add on a global scale (I want only www.example.com/admin/users/add or www.example.com/registered/users/add type of addresses)? This kind of addresses is not event set in the routes.php but they still work. Any answers apprecated

  • Android Notepadv1 Tutorial - Persistent mNoteNumber?

    So I did the Notepadv1 tutorial. It worked great. No problems. I would however like some explanation on why the mNoteNumber remembers the last number of the item I created. So the class starts as follows: public class Notepadv1 extends ListActivity { private int mNoteNumber = 1; That's fine, I understand that. The only other time the mNoteNumber variable is used is when you add an item it creates a note with that number and then increments it to the next number as follows: private void createNote() { String noteName = "Note " + mNoteNumber++; Those are the only two references to the variable mNoteNumber. When I press the Home button and then reopen the app, I add a new note but instead of adding a second "Note 1" it remembers that the last note I added as "Note 3" so it makes "Note 4". So I don't get it. Does Java/Android remember the last state of variables? If anyone could give me some explanation that would be great THANKS!

  • What approach should be suitable for user authentification in simle client/server app

    My previous question was closed so I will be more specific. I need to create an application, desktop one written in C#, that will ask for user credentials and after verification opens the GUI allowing to work with DB (black box for users). It should be used from everywhere, not LAN or SQL domain. I assume I would need to do the following: Create a client and a server applications that will deal with authentification. That would mean a lot of socketing stuff.. Once the user is verified, the client queries would be sent to database (client-server-DB). The server would need to send the DB data sets back to the client. As you can see, this is just my guess but I have no idea whether its too complicated or completely wrong. The main thing is that it must be desktop app (not web based one) and accessible from everywhere. I am interested in main points how to design the system and will be extremely grateful for that.

    I'd like to add Elements to a StackPanel (or Listbox / Listview if it would make that easier) and automatically add a Button (like "...") to indicate that there are more children than there is space for. Consider a calendar that has appointment items in each day. If there are more appointments than as much as can be displayed a button is displayed to go to a detailed view for that day. Can this be done automatically, or how do I calculate the positions of the stackpanel and its items. It's for windows store development in c#. Thanks in advance.

    I have installed deployd in my debian 7.0.0 64 bit, I have also succesfully installed mongodb in it, I have create some collection and user collection in deployd dashboard, then using user guide how to connect and query the table in deployd, I choose jquery ajax to log in to deployd from my localhost site and after login success I try to get/post some data, but somehow deployd return access denied.     I'm a Django beginner. My site - let's call it abc.com - works fine, letting users log in and out (having originally registered via Django registratiaon). If it's relevant, my virtuahosts file has ServerName abc.com and ServerAlias www.abc.com directives. I don't want my visitors to sense that both abc.com and www.abc.com exist, and so discovered Django's prepend_www setting, which works as intended. In addition to working as intended, however, there's a side effect that disables logging in and out when visiting the www. variant of my site.

    I have problem that i just cant figure out right now. I am trying to develop a Windows-8 style app and im stuck implementing this functionality. I have a MainWindow which contains a ListBox and a Button (lets say addButton). When i click the button i navigate to a new page, lets say AddCustomerPage with this.Frame.Navigate(typeof (AddCustomerPage)); AddCustomerPage has 1 textBox and 1 button (lets say doneButton. When i click the button i want the string in the textBox to be added to the ListBox on the previous page. This is my current functionality: 1. MainWindow is created. Click addButton AddCustomer page is created. MainWindow is destroyed(problem). Click doneButton A MainWindow object is created with a ListBox with 1 item. Repeat the add process, i always get a MainWindow with a ListBox with 1 item. Thanks for the help.   • PHP_AUTH_USER only known in certain frames

    Getting very confused by PHP_AUTH_USER. Within my web pages I have .htaccess files in every directory, controlling who can (and cant) see certain folders. In order to further customise the pages I was hoping to use PHP_AUTH_USER within the PHP code, i.e. tailor page contents based on the user. This only seems to work partially. The code snippets below hopefully demonstrate my problems. The main index.php creates a framed page with a menu structure in the top left hand corners, some irrelvant stuff in top right and then the tailor made contents in bottom frame. In top left the user is correctly shown, but in the bottom frame PHP_AUTH_USER doesnt seem to be set anymore (it returns empty and when printing all $HTTP_SERVER_VARS its not listed). Script.php is in a different path, but they all have .htaccess files in them and all other contents is displayed correctly. Why does it not know about PHP_AUTH_USER there?   • How to check for a file's authenticity ?

    Let's say I write a game application. I want the level of the player to be stored in an external file. How can I prevent a hacker from writing and modifying the file to put another level ? I want the file to be modified by my application only. I can sign the file's content with a key, but then this key will be stored in the application, therefore it would be possible for a hacker to decompile the binary and find the key. Is there any way to do this ?

  • best way to make this app/website combo?

    I have an idea for an app that lets different bars upload drink specials via a webpage to that app. They would log in the website, and the website would prompt them with a box to input the drink specials. When they are done, the app pulls the information and creates a card for that bar. The app would launch into a week view where you select the day you want to see specials for. After the day is selected, it brings you to a scroll view with different bars' cards laid out vertically, each taking up the width of the screen, allowing the user to scroll through the deals for that day of the week. How should I go about doing this if I have very little programming experience? Is there any convention in doing an app like this? Can anyone suggest any reading material that would help? Thank you!

  • Passing a panel widget to a function

    I have written a quite complex script which calls a server handler to refresh elements in a grid at the press of a button. For code re-use and consistent behaviour, I am wanting to call that server handler directly during the initial painting of the grid. When the server handler gets called by clicking on the button, all expected widgets are available and can be queried with e.parameter.widget etc. When I call the function directly and pass it the panel variable, the value of e is just 'AbsolutePanel'. Is there some way I can emulate the addCallbackElement way of passing the entire panel and all widgets it contains to the function? Or a way of automatically firing a server handler on script start? Please forgive any syntax errors below, I have pruned 500 lines of code down to the pertinent bits!   • Postfix: how to use simple file for SASL authentication?

    I'd like to run Postfix on a Debian VPS to send e-mails from my application. The application (running on other VPSes) would connect to Postfix via SMTP. Postfix does not have to handle incoming email; it's just about sending the outgoing messages. To prevent being an open relay, SASL authentication should be used. However, I don't want to run Dovecot or MySQL for SASL authentication. How can I setup SASL authentication using a simple file (containing usernames and passwords)? I already found a similar question; however, no satisfying answers where given there.

    I'm having a problem very similar to IIS 7.5 FTP IIS Manager Users Login Fail (530) on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I have created an FTP site and IIS Manager user but am having trouble logging in. I could really do with getting this working with the IIS Manager user rather than by creating a new system user since I'm fairly restricted with those accounts. Here is the output when connecting locally through command prompt: C:\Windows\system32>ftp localhost Connected to MYSERVER. 220 Microsoft FTP Service User (MYSERVER:(none)): MyFtpLogin 331 Password required for MyFtpLogin. Password: *** 530-User cannot log in. Win32 error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Error details: An error occured during the authentication process. 530 End Login failed. I have followed the guide to configure ftp with iis manager authentication in iis 7 and Adding FTP Publishing to a Web Site in IIS 7 Things I have done and checked: The FTP Service is installed (along with FTP Extensibility). Trying to connect via FTP though either through the browser or FileZilla etc... gives me: Status: Resolving address of www.mydomain.co.uk Status: Connecting to 123.456.12.123:21... As part of the setup I've got to a screen requesting username / password / authentication server for the cable modem They have contacted Telstra who supply the username / password and say that is all they need. They dont know anything about an authentication server. There are a couple of answers up on Whirlpool forum found through google but those answers are 4 years old. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/475258.html http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/479615.html I havent tried them yet as I hoped to get actual answers before trundling over to my friends house again. When I debug, I see the error being returned from the call is " Server Error in '/jQuerySample' Application. <h2> <i>HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.</i> </h2></span> " Looks like I'm missing something basic here. My sample is based on this I've been trying to fix the code for sometime now so I'd like you to take a look and see if you can figure out what is it that I'm doing wrong here. I'm able to see that the service is created when I browse the service in IE. I've also tried changing the setting as mentioned here Appreciate your help.
