    I am still quite new to class concept. I have a problem here. for example, i have a class called class p{ int id; p(id){ //constructor } } now, i want to make instances of class p. After i have all the instances. i want to build a function get_p(pid) to return the specific class p which id=pid, how can i write this part? I have read c++ and java class tutorials, but i cant sort this out. please help me.

I try seperating the delegate to an outside method like delegate void test(string text); private void SetTest(string text) { if(MessageBox.Show(text,"", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo) == DialogResult.No) } But it breach the very reason why i need the delegate. I found out the first works for me but i don't know how to put it in an if/else statement.     Hi, Here is my scenario: I have three models Subscriber, Subscription, Plan, with has_many :through relationship between Subscriber and Plans. A subscriber can have multiple plans with one active plan. Whenever a subscriber selects a plan I save it using accepts_nested_attributes_for :subscriptions. I get one plan from the form. Now my problem is I want to get the ID of the record created in subscriptions table.

    I enjoy all the python libraries for scraping websites and I am experimenting with BeautifulSoup and IMDB just for fun. As I come from Java, I have some Java-practices incorporated into my programming styles. I am trying to get the info of a certain movie, I can either create a Movie class or just use a dictionary with keys for the attributes. My question is, should I just use dictionaries when a class will only contain data and perhaps almost no behaviour? In other languages creating a type will help you enforce certain restrictions and because of type checks the IDE will help you program, this is not always the case in python, so what should I do? Should I resort to creating a class only when there's both, behaviour and data? Or create a movie class even though it'll probably be just a data container? This all depends on your model, in this particular case either one is fine but I'm wondering about what's a good practice.

    created the first rails app! excinting! for two weeks now I did Zombie, rubymonk etc. I love it! I used scaffold form url:string and included the gem share_counts. rails c: f = form.first ShareCounts.twitter f.url works! but... I have trouble to write the controller and the view! For you experienced railies this is probably a silly question, and probably only 5 lines of code, but for me thats a big step learning RoR!     I am trying to push elements to an array. for (a=0; a < test.length; a++){ if(this.testnumber != test[a].number){ //it will only loop 8 times under conditional statement group = { title: test.Title , ID: test.ID, contents: [] }; this.company.push(group); this.testnumber = test.number[a]; } //outside of if conditional statement.. it will loop 15 times //i want every test[a].conetents get pushed to group.contents array. //this.company is the final variable I need for this function... group.contents.push(test[a].contents); } However, when I do console.log(this.company); I see 8 elmements with only 1 element in each group.contents array The ideal situation is to have 8 elements with 2 to 3 elements in the group.contents array I hope I explain my situation well. When I use readelf for those two executable I can't find any difference. Then why people use -l option for linking objects? Does it have any advantage?

    This might be a stupid question, but I just saw a question asking how to create a Type variable for a generic type. The consensus seemed to be that you should have a dummy method returning that type, and then use reflection to get it (in this case he wanted Map<String, String>). Something like this : public Map<String, String> dummy() { throw new Error(); } Type mapStringString = Class.forName("ThisClass").getMethod("dummy").getGenericReturnType(); My question is, not having used reflection that much, couldn't you just do something like: Type mapStringString = new ParameterizedType() { public Type getRawType() { return Map.class; } public Type getOwnerType() { return null; } public Type[] getActualTypeArguments() { return new Type[] { String.class, String.class }; } }; Would this work? If not, why not? And what are some of the dangers/problems if it does (besides being able to return some Type like Integer<String> which is obviously not possible.

    I have a list: list<Unit *> UnitCollection; containing Unit objects, which has an accessor like: bool Unit::isUnit(string uCode) { if(this->unitCode == uCode) return true; else return false; } How do I search my UnitCollection list by uCode and return the corresponding element (preferably it's index). I have looked at the find() method, but i'm not sure you can pass a boolean method in instead of a searched item parameter if that makes sense.

ChildAttr2 How do I project Parent into a Dto where for each child in parent I will get an instace of Dto? I've setup two maps Parent-Dto and Child-Dto but just doing _mapper.Map(parentInstance) only projects parents attributes. Does this have to be done in two steps, where I would iterate children myself?
