• ContentAssist delay on editors for Eclipse?

  When using the Java Editor for Eclipse, one can set the ContentAssist delay to 0 seconds (in the Java Editor ContentAssist options). In other language editors, e.g EPIC (Perl Integration), this option isn't offered. However I guess that for all languages editors there is a configuration file where one can change this correctly, which is the same as for the Java Editor. So, where is the configuration file for the Eclipse Java Editor concerning the ContentAssist stuff? Thanks :-)

• WCF data services (OData), query with inheritance limitation?

  Project: WCF Data service using internally EF4 CTP5 Code-First approach. I configured entities with inheritance (TPH). See previous question on this topic: Previous question about multiple entities- same table The mapping works well, and unit test over EF4 confirms that queries runs smoothly. My entities looks like this: ContactBase (abstract) Customer (inherits from ContactBase), this entity has also several Navigation properties toward other entities Resource (inherits from ContactBase) I have configured a discriminator, so both Customer and Resource map to the same table. Again, everythings works fine on the Ef4 point of view (unit tests all greens!) However, when exposing this DBContext over WCF Data services, I get: - CustomerBases sets exposed (Customers and Resources sets seems hidden, is it by design?) - When I query over Odata on Customers, I get this error: Navigation Properties are not supported on derived entity types. Entity Set 'ContactBases' has a instance of type 'CodeFirstNamespace.Customer', which is an derived entity type and has navigation properties. Please remove all the navigation properties from type 'CodeFirstNamespace.Customer'.   I have a problem with redirecting a page in my JSF application. My navigation rule look like this : <navigation-rule> <from-view-id>/index.xhtml</from-view-id> <navigation-case> <from-action>#{registerBean.registerUser}</from-action> <from-outcome>success</from-outcome> <to-view-id>/confirmation.xhtml</to-view-id> <redirect/> </navigation-case> </navigation-rule> In my case the redirect tag doesn't work, the URL remains unchanged, and when I refresh the page the registerUser action is executed again. I just have no idea what I'm doing wrong; I'm not very experienced with JSF. Can anyone please tell why the redirect tag doesn't work? Thanks. (I'm using JSF 2.0 and NetBeans IDE)

• How can I solve this CSS links inheritance problem?

  It's stumped me an I've tried a couple of things - then again I'm not very experienced so I may just be going about it the wrong way. Basically I want to have different link styles for both the navigation and the pagination. The #navigation styling is overriding my .pagination styling though, and it doesn't appear to matter if the pagination is a class or an ID. • Using css "active tab" technique on single page

  I'm building a navigation system using jquery scrollto. I have my navigation menu in a separate file (( navigation.php )). It is included in 5 locations on the first page (( 5 different sections w/ text following each )). I'm trying to figure out a way to have the current "tab" highlight'd. I could hard code the navigation in each location to ensure it shows up the correct way, but I'd rather use the phpinclude() method. The other issue is that each "tab" has it's own unique color (( cmykd )). Here is the alpha version of what I'm doing (( when you click && the page slides, the "active tab" still stays grey -- I'd like it to be the corresponding color )). Hope this all makes sense && thanks in advance !!

• Find duplicate images?

  I need a software (for Windows) that finds duplicate images by comparing the actual image content. I have duplicates of images, once with metadata, one without, so the image is the same, but the file is not, so comparing the files byte by byte is not enough. Another requirement is, that I can delete all / several duplicates at once - I don't want to click 100 times "delete"! That is, what I actually would have to do using XnView ): I also checked the other topics here and Google, but if a programscompares the images in a perfect way (like XnView) it doesn't allow the deletion of several duplicates at once

• Issue with css float -- Hindering IE6 from putting div in next line

  Hi, I've got an issue with floating divs in IE6. There's one navigation div on the left and one content div for the rest of the page. They've got the following css values: #navigation { float: left; width: 185px; padding-left: 5px; overflow: auto; height: 100%; } #content { overflow: auto; height: 100%; } In Firefox, IE8, Chrome and Opera, I get scrollbars for the content div when I resize the page to a size where both divs can't fit in as a whole. The navigation div stays in its place. And that is the desired behaviour. But in IE6, there are no scrollbars for the content div. Instead, when the page is getting too small, IE6 simply puts the content div under the navigation div. Do you know any way to hinder IE6 from this behaviour?

• Can I use a UINavigationController as the detail view of a UISplitViewController?

  I'm running into a problem with an iPad app where I would like to have UINavigationControllers in both of the views within a UISplitView. I've looked through other similar questions here, but most link to a tutorial online that doesn't completely solve the problem. Here's a 2-minute walkthrough to re-create the problem I'm having: Create a New Project in XCode, starting from the Split View-based Application template. Add the following NSLog statement as the first line within the DetailViewController's willHideViewController method: NSLog(@"toolbar: %@", toolbar); If you run the application now, the log will show that the DetailViewController's toolbar is alive and well. Now... Open MainWindow.xib and expand the SplitViewController. Drag a Navigation Controller from the library on top of the DetailViewController. Expand the new Navigation Controller and change the class of the UIViewController within to a DetailViewController. Ctrl-drag from the SplitViewController to the DetailViewController and assign it as the delegate. Save MainWindow.xib and run the app again. At this point, the detail view has a navigation bar and an empty toolbar. If you view the logs, you should find that the toolbar is null. Why is this? Am I missing some sort of connection in Interface Builder? Is the navigation bar the problem for some reason? Unlike the tutorial at http://www.cimgf.com/2010/05/24/fixing-the-uisplitviewcontroller-template/, I would like to keep both the navigation bar and the toolbar (preferably with the toolbar at the top when in portrait and not visible when in landscape), so that I still have a functional "Back" button when the iPad is in portrait orientation. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this problem? An example project with this sort of set-up would be ideal.

  Background I am developing a WPF project. This is the basic structure: User Interface (WPF Project); Interfaces (class library, contains all the interfaces and the entities used by the application; Modules (every module contains the logic of a specific argument, e.g. File Management, and can eventually contains Wpf User Controls). In the WPF Controls, to facilitate the binding operations I have created a BaseViewModel class which contains a Raise method that automates the binding mechanism (for further details, I used a technique similar to that one described in this article). The problem Understand which is the best way to separate Presentation form from the Business form in the entities classes. The case In the Interfaces project I have, for instance, the class User public class User { public virtual string Name { get; set; } // Other properties } In one of the modules I need to use the User class and to bind its properties to the User Interface controls. To do so I have to use a custom implementation of the get and set keywords. At first point, I thought to create a class in the Module called, for instance, ClientUser and override the properties that I need: public class ClientUser : User { private string name; public override string Name { get { return name; } set { Raise(out name, value); } } // Other properties } The problem is the Raise method, which is declared in the BaseViewModel class, but due to C# single inheritance constraint, I can't inherit from both classes. • Experience vs. versatility

  Let's say a .NET programmer works at a company which provides software on demand, not as a product. The programmer works in WPF for a period of time and he/she invests lots of time in it. He/she get very good at WPF and Windows Forms and desktop development in general. But the company has to provide a web application now, so the developer has to learn MVC or Web Forms. He/she is not experienced in web development so he/she starts investing time in this new technology and in time they get good at it. But this time the company has to provide a Sharepoint solution, and so on. What is more important: Being very very good at a certain technology, Or be as versatile as possible knowing less in each technology but covering a greater area of expertise? Should the programmer keep studying and working in WPF until he/she reaches a guru level or is it a good thing that they had to learn other technologies as well? I agree with those of you who will say that when learning different technologies you will also learn things which are useful no matter the technology you're programming in. But eventually, when the programmer will want to change jobs, will it matter more that he/she knows some WPF, MVC or Sharepoint than the fact that he/she is insanely good at one of them? I would think the second one is more important since most companies are looking for a developer for a certain technology. I don't think there are many companies looking for technical know-it-all people. What do you think?
