  • Choosing routing.yml based on user culture?

    - by Erland Wiencke
In my Symfony application I would like to choose the routing.yml based on the current user's culture; 'en' => routing.en.yml 'no' => routing.no.yml and so forth. Any suggestion to how this can be done? Edit: I am not trying to do i18n this way - I use Symfony's built-in methods for that. I simply want "static" urls to reflect the user's language: /en/projects/internal/project-name /no/prosjekter/interne/prosjektnavn /fr/baguette/champs-elysee/foux-de-fafa Where "projects" is a module, the category "internal" and "project-name" are stored in the database.

  • Best practices for using memcached in Rails?

    - by Matt
Hello everybody, as database transcations in our app are getting more and more time consuming, we have started to use memcached to reduce the amount of queries passed to MySQL. All in all, it works fine and really saves a lot of time. But as caching was "silently appearing" as a workaround to give the app more juice, a lot of our models now contain code like this: def self.all_cached Rails.cache.fetch('object_name') { find( :all, :include => [associations]) } end This is getting more and more a pain as filling and flushing the cache happens in several classes accross the application. Now, I was wondering if there was a better way to abstract memcached logic to make it more powerful and easy to use across all needed models? I was thinking about having some kind of memcached-module which is included in all needed modules. But before playing around, I thought: Let's ask experts first :-) Thanks Matt

  • Modern, Non-trivial, Pygame Tutorials?

    - by Gregg Lind
What are some 'good', non-trivial Pygame tutorials? I realize good is relative. As an example, a good one (to me) is the one that describes how to use pygame.camera. It's recent uses a modern PyGame (1.9) non-trivial, in that it shows how to use it the module for a real application. I'd like to find others. A lot of the ones on the Pygame site are from 1.3 era or earlier! Info on related projects, like Gloss is welcome as well. (If your answer is "read the source of some pygame games", please link to the source of particular ones and note what is good about them)

  • need help with installing shared libraries on linux

    - by naiquevin
Hi, I am new to linux and trying to get the Ajax Push engine server to work on Ubuntu 9.04. I installed the server from source it fails the check that it does by using its own javascript framework. The problem is that it fails to load the modules and the output that i get in the terminal when i start it is. [Module] Failed to load ../modules/lib/libmod_spidermonkey.so [Invalid library] (libmysac.so.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) i thought i had to install mysac lib as a shared lib, so after some searching i copied the libmysac.so to /usr/local/lib/ and upon running ldconfig there it created the symlink. But still it gived the same error. Now I copied the libmod_spidermonkey.so in the shared lib dir. But this time ldconfig did not create any symlinks. I am really confused and looking for some pointers . Please help

  • org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie not serializable???

    - by Misha Koshelev
Dear All: I am quite confused... I am reading here and BasicClientCookie clearly implements Serializable per JavaDoc: http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client/httpclient/apidocs/org/apache/http/impl/cookie/BasicClientCookie.html However, my simple Groovy script: #!/usr/bin/env groovy @Grapes( @Grab(group='org.apache.httpcomponents', module='httpclient', version='4.0.1') ) import org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie import java.io.File def cookie=new BasicClientCookie("name","value") println cookie instanceof Serializable def f=new File("/tmp/test") f.withObjectOutputStream() { oos-> oos.writeObject(cookie) } outputs: false Caught: java.io.NotSerializableException: org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie at t$_run_closure1.doCall(t.groovy:12) at t.run(t.groovy:11) I have checked and I have no other versions of HttpClient anywhere in classpath (if I take Grapes statement out it cannot find file). Thank you! Misha Koshelev

  • Drupal setup for proofreaders - "Revision Moderation"

    - by Olav
I would like to have external proofreaders to work directly inside my Drupal site. Basically they should be able to create new revisions, annotate, comment etc without affecting what users see without my approval. Particularly the node might already be public. "Revision Moderation" module sounds a bit like what I want, but it seems not to be so much used, and I run into other modules like "Workflow". What is important for me: Possibility to work on content already published Easy for the proofreader, easy for me to direct her to the right location Other useful features such as comments (Like those balloons in Word), diffs etc (I guess I could work around (1) by copying the content)

  • Easy to use time-stamps in Python

    - by Morlock
I'm working on a journal-type application in Python. The application basically permits the user write entries in the journal and adds a time-stamp for later querying the journal. As of now, I use the time.ctime() function to generate time-stamps that are visually friendly. The journal entries thus look like: Thu Jan 21 19:59:47 2010 Did something Thu Jan 21 20:01:07 2010 Did something else Now, I would like to be able to use these time-stamps to do some searching/querying. I need to be able to search, for example, for "2010", or "feb 2010", or "23 feb 2010". My questions are: 1) What time module(s) should I use: time vs datetime? 2) What would be an appropriate way of creating and using the time-stamp objects? Many thanks!

  • python optparse, how to include additional info in usage output?

    - by CarpeNoctem
Using python's optparse module I would like to add extra example lines below the regular usage output. My current help_print() output looks like this: usage: check_dell.py [options] options: -h, --help show this help message and exit -s, --storage checks virtual and physical disks -c, --chassis checks specified chassis components I would like it to include usage examples for the less *nix literate users at my work. Something like this: usage: check_dell.py [options] options: -h, --help show this help message and exit -s, --storage checks virtual and physical disks -c, --chassis checks specified chassis components Examples: check_dell -c all check_dell -c fans memory voltage check_dell -s How would I accomplish this? What optparse options allow for such? Current code: import optparse def main(): parser = optparse.OptionParser() parser.add_option('-s', '--storage', action='store_true', default=False, help='checks virtual and physical disks') parser.add_option('-c', '--chassis', action='store_true', default=False, help='checks specified chassis components') (opts, args) = parser.parse_args()

I was planning on storing all the information in a single table ... and example of the data follows: Date User Status Notes ------------------------------------------------------- 1/8/2009 12:00pm B.Sisko In Out to lunch 1/8/2009 8:00am B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 5:00pm B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 8:00am B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/5/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/1/2009 8:00am J.Picard Out Vacation I would like to query the data and return the most recent status for each user, in this case, my query would return the following results: Date User Status Notes ------------------------------------------------------- 1/8/2009 12:00pm B.Sisko In Out to lunch 1/7/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/1/2009 8:00am J.Picard Out Vacation I am try to figure out the TRANSACT-SQL to make this happen? Any help would be appreciated.

  • How to repeat a particular execution multiple times

    - by Joshua
    The following snippet generates create / drop sql for a particular database, whenever there is a modification to JPA entity classes. How do I perform something equivalent of a 'for' operation where-in the following code can be used to generate sql for all supported databases (e.g. H2, MySQL, Postgres) Currently I have to modify db.groupId, db.artifactId, db.driver.version everytime to generate the sql files <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>${hibernate3-maven-plugin.version}</version> <executions> <execution> <id>create schema</id> <phase>process-test-resources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2ddl</goal> </goals> <configuration> <componentProperties> <persistenceunit>${app.module}</persistenceunit> <drop>false</drop> <create>true</create> <outputfilename>${app.sql}-create.sql</outputfilename> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> <execution> <id>drop schema</id> <phase>process-test-resources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2ddl</goal> </goals> <configuration> <componentProperties> <persistenceunit>${app.module}</persistenceunit> <drop>true</drop> <create>false</create> <outputfilename>${app.sql}-drop.sql</outputfilename> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> </executions> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId> <version>${hibernate-core.version}</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId> <artifactId>slf4j-api</artifactId> <version>${slf4j-api.version}</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId> <artifactId>slf4j-nop</artifactId> <version>${slf4j-nop.version}</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>${db.groupId}</groupId> <artifactId>${db.artifactId}</artifactId> <version>${db.driver.version}</version> </dependency> </dependencies> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2cfgxml</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> <component> <name>hbm2dao</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> <component> <name>hbm2ddl</name> <implementation>jpaconfiguration</implementation> <outputDirectory>src/main/sql</outputDirectory> </component> <component> <name>hbm2doc</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> <component> <name>hbm2hbmxml</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> <component> <name>hbm2java</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> <component> <name>hbm2template</name> <implementation>annotationconfiguration</implementation> </component> </components> </configuration> </plugin>

  • Any way to run DLL's at button click C#

    - by Sandeep Bansal
Hi Guys, I'm looking for ways to speed my program to the max and one way I thought of was to strip all DLL's being run at startup and run them when they need to be. As an example, I have a DLL containing info required for an update module, but I don't want to have that running in the program if I don't need it till I have an update. (I know I can create a separate program and link it to that but this is just an example.) Is there anyway to attach this on a button click? Sorry if I haven't made my question understandable. Thanks

  • Best way to structure AJAX for a Zend Framework application

    - by John Nall
Sorry, but there's a lot of outdated and just plain bad information for Zend Framework, since it has changed so much over the years and is so flexible. I thought of having an AJAX module service layer, with controllers and actions that interact with my model. Easy, but not very extensible and would violate DRY. If I change the logistics of some process I'll have to edit the AJAX controllers and the normal controllers. So ideally I would load the exact same actions for both javascript and non-javascript users. I have thought about maybe checking for $_POST['ajax'], if it is set I would load a different (json'y) view for the data. Was wondering how/a good way to do this (front controller plugin I imagine?) or if someone can point me to an UP TO DATE tutorial that describes a really good way for building a larger ajax application. thx

  • dump csv from sqlalchemy

    - by afilatun
For some reason, I want to dump a table from a database (sqlite3) in the form of a csv file. I'm using a python script with elixir (based on sqlalchemy) to modify the database. I was wondering if there is any way to dump the table I use to csv. I've seen sqlalchemy serializer but it doesn't seem to be what I want. Am I doing it wrong? Should I call the sqlite3 python module after closing my sqlalchemy session to dump to a file instead? Or should I use something homemade?

  • Drupal Views pulling Data Fields

    - by askon
I'm a little new to drupal but have been using things like devel module and theme developer to speed up the learning process. My question, is it possible to theme an entire views BLOCK from a single views tpl.php page OR even a preprocess? When I'm grabbing the $view object I can see results $node-result, it has all of the results, but it doesn't have all my views fields. I'm missing things like, node path, taxonomy titles and paths, etc. From my understanding, Drupal wants you to individually theme EACH output field. It seems rather superfluous to create so many extra templates when I've already got over HALF of my results coming through the $view object Would outputting node over field make this easier? Or am going in the wrong direction with $view-result? Thanks!

  • Set top level directory to be handled by Perl?

    - by Sam Lee
I have an Apache server set up to use mod_perl. I have it set up to handle all requests using a Perl module MyModule. Here is part of my httpd.conf: LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so <Directory /> Order Deny,Allow Allow from all </Directory> PerlModule MyModule <Location /> SetHandler modperl PerlResponseHandler MyModule </Location> This seems to work fine, except top level directory (ie. www.mysite.com/) is not being sent to MyModule. What's going wrong?

  • Spring MVC with a rich client framework

    - by ziggy
I have several applications that are structured as follows DataComponent WebComponent ThickClientComponent WebServices The DataComponent has all the functionality required to access the application's data so it contains the DAOs and the JPA entities. The other three modules are: WebComponent - A spring MVC application that uses the DataComponent for data acccess ThickClientComponent- A Swing application that uses the DataComponent for data access WebServices - A SOAP based services that also uses the DataComponent. All three projets have the DataComponent as a dependeny in their Maven POM file. I would like to use a rich client framework like RichFaces, icefaces or primefaces as i need to be able to use the rich components are available in rich client frameworks (i.e. trees, panel, drag and drop etc). I have looked around and i cant seem to find an example where a Spring MVC application uses a rich client platform. Is it possible? Are the rich client platforms a framework meaning that i have to use either Spring MVC or the rich client platform but not both? The DataComponent module is spring based.

  • QWT plugin for QT 4.5

    - by Extrakun
Hi, I have gotten the latest QWT 5.1.2 for QT 4.5 and managed to get it to complie. I am now trying to get the plugin to work in QT Designer (with VS intergration). I have placed the plugin files into the plugin/designer folder, but when attempting to load, I hit this error Cannot load library qwt_desginer_plugin5.dll: The specified module cannot be found. I've done some search on this issue, one page which suggest moving the plugin to the VS intergration folder - which does not exist for Program Files\Nokia\Vs4Addin. My QT Designer is a debug-and-relase build. (That is, if I use a debug build of the plugin it would complain that it is expecting a release).

  • Sending a signup confirmation email with having to confirm using Devise

    - by slythic
Hi all, I'm using devise to handle user authentication with my rails app. I'd like to allow my users to sign up and be instantly logged in and receive a confirmation email. Devise has the Confirmable module which sends out an email but requires the user to open up their mail application, find the email and click a link which then leads them to the site again. I'd like to just email the user a confirmation that they signed up and that's it. Is there a way for devise to do this or do I need to resolve to handling ActionMailer myself (if so, is there a quick and non-complex example)? Many thanks! -Tony

  • Ruby PTY.spawn is Hanging - How to fill out Email and Password in simple example

    - by viatropos
After asking this question, it looks like I need to use Ruby's PTY Module, of which there is no documentation. I have written this code to try to push content to Google App Engine because the python command sometimes asks me for my username and password. But when I run this code, it just hangs. cmd = "appcfg.py update cdn" PTY.spawn("#{cmd} 2>&1") do | input, output, pid | begin input.expect("Email:") do output.write("#{credentials[:username]}\n") end input.expect("Password:") do output.write("#{credentials[:password]}\n") end rescue Exception => e puts "GAE Error..." end end What am I missing here? How can I get this to work?

  • Cleanest way to run/debug python programs in windows

    - by YGA
Python for Windows by default comes with IDLE, which is the barest-bones IDE I've ever encountered. For editing files, I'll stick to emacs, thank you very much. However, I want to run programs in some other shell than the crappy windows command prompt, which can't be widened to more than 80 characters. IDLE lets me run programs in it if I open the file, then hit F5 (to go Run- Run Module). I would rather like to just "run" the command, rather than going through the rigmarole of closing the emacs file, loading the IDLE file, etc. A scan of google and the IDLE docs doesn't seem to give much help about using IDLE's shell but not it's IDE. Any advice from the stack overflow guys? Ideally I'd either like advice on running programs using IDLE's shell advice on other ways to run python programs in windows outside of IDLE or "cmd". Thanks, /YGA

  • Named semaphores in Python?

    - by Boaz
Hi, I have a script in python which uses a resource which can not be used by more than a certain amount of concurrent scripts running. Classically, this would be solved by a named semaphores but I can not find those in the documentation of the multiprocessing module or threading . Am I missing something or are named semaphores not implemented / exposed by Python? and more importantly, if the answer is no, what is the best way to emulate one? Thanks, Boaz PS. For reasons which are not so relevant to this question, I can not aggregate the task to a continuously running process/daemon or work with spawned processed - both of which, it seems, would have worked with the python API.

  • MySQLdb not INSERTING, _mysql does fine.

    - by Mad_Casual
Okay, I log onto the MySQL command-line client as root. I then open or otherwise run a python app using the MySQLdb module as root. When I check the results using python (IDLE), everything looks fine. When I use the MySQL command-line client, no INSERT has occurred. If I change things around to _mysql instead of MySQLdb, everything works fine. I'd appreciate any clarification(s). "Works" until IDLE/Virtual machine is reset: <pre><code>import MySQLdb db = MySQLdb.connect(user='root', passwd='*******',db='test') cursor = db.cursor() cursor.execute("""INSERT INTO test VALUES ('somevalue');""",)</code></end> Works: <pre><code>import _mysql db = _mysql.connect(user='root', passwd='*******',db='test') db.query("INSERT INTO test VALUES ('somevalue');")</code></end> System info: Intel x86 WinXP Python 2.5 MySQL 5.1.41 MySQL-Python 1.2.2
