  • "Go To Definition" in Visual Studio only brings up the Metadata

    I am working in a Web Project in Visual Studio 2008. When I hit F12 (or right-click and select Go To Definition) Visual Studio is consistently going to the Meta data file instead of going to the source. Some Points: All the source code is C#, there is no VB.Net All the projects are in the same solution Yes, everything is a project reference (checked and double-checked) I have tried the Clean/Rebuild Solution approach (even to the point of clearing out the Temp directory, Temporary ASP.NET Files directory, etc). Has anyone else seen this behavior and/or know how to fix it?

  • Multiple aggregate functions in one SQL query from the same table using different conditions

    I'm working on creating a SQL query that will pull records from a table based on the value of two aggregate functions. These aggregate functions are pulling data from the same table, but with different filter conditions. The problem that I run into is that the results of the SUMs are much larger than if I only include one SUM function. I know that I can create this query using temp tables, but I'm just wondering if there is an elegant solution that requires only a single query. I've created a simplified version to demonstrate the issue. Here are the table structures: EMPLOYEE TABLE EMPID 1 2 3 ABSENCE TABLE EMPID DATE HOURS_ABSENT 1 6/1/2009 3 1 9/1/2009 1 2 3/1/2010 2 And here is the query: SELECT E.EMPID ,SUM(ATOTAL.HOURS_ABSENT) AS ABSENT_TOTAL ,SUM(AYEAR.HOURS_ABSENT) AS ABSENT_YEAR FROM EMPLOYEE E INNER JOIN ABSENCE ATOTAL ON ATOTAL.EMPID = E.EMPID INNER JOIN ABSENCE AYEAR ON AYEAR.EMPID = E.EMPID WHERE AYEAR.DATE > '1/1/2010' GROUP BY E.EMPID HAVING SUM(ATOTAL.HOURS_ABSENT) > 10 OR SUM(AYEAR.HOURS_ABSENT) > 3 Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have java webstart app and I want it to connect to a server via SSL.just adding a property like:System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","my.keystore");But since a JAWS program is downloaded from server didn't work and don't have a my.keystore on local file system. So decided to distribute the certificate to all clients.I did the following and it worked, but I am sure there are more better solutions that this.I packed it inside a jar and copied to some temp directory on clients machine and read the truststore jks file.     Hi Team, I am trying to learn SQL query optimization using SQL Server 2005. However, I did not find any practical example where I can improve performance by tweaking query alone. Can you please list some example queries - prior and after optimization? It has to be query tuning – not adding index, not making covering index, not making any alteration to table. No change is supposed to be done on table and index. [ I understand that indexes are important.   • Visual Studio Database Professional GDR R2 takes a long time to serialize DBMDL file

    The amount of time it takes to completely serialize the DBMDL (to finish "Your project will be available after 10000 operations are completed) is becoming a hindrance to productivity. I've done what I can to optimize disk activity (excluding my personal TEMP folder from the virus scanner, along with my local source repository). Short of getting a SSD I'm not sure what else I can do along those lines. I believe it has something to do with how the project is organized. The finished DBMDL file is roughly 150MB. Others throughout our organization do not seem to have this issue. Anyone had to deal with this?

There used to be a SqlCeConnection...but I don't find that in the 4.0 framework? Has something replaced this? If the answer is L2S or Entity Framework...can I add columns to SqlCe tables at runtime?     I have two tables -- Variables (id, name) and Variable_Entries (id, var_id, value). I want each variable to have a unique set of entries. If I make the value entry unique then a different variable won't be able to have that same value which is not right. Is there some way to make the value column unique for identical var_id's?

I have the file GDB set as an IGxDatabase object, but can't find a way of getting further in.     I have an initial migration that sets up two tables (users and projects), with a relationship (innoDB). $table->foreign('user_id')->references('id')->on('users'); I have two Eloquent models set up, blank except for the relationship: return $this->has_many('Project'); Do i definitely need to tell eloquent about the relationship in the models and the database? I'd assumed something as comprehensive as Laravel would infer it from the Schema? Is there something I'm missing?

  • Why does ffmpeg stop randomly in the middle of a process?

    ffmpeg feels like its taking a long time. I then look at my output file and i see it stops between 6 and 8mbs. A fully encoded file is about 14mb. Why does ffmpeg stop? My code locks up on StandardOutput.ReadToEnd();. I had to kill the process (after seeing it not move for more then 10 seconds when i see it update every second previously) then i get the results of stdout and err. stdout is "" stderr is below. The output msg shows the filesize ended. I also see a drop in my CPU usage when it stops. I copyed the argument from visual studios. CD to the same working directory and ran the cmd (bin/ffmpeg) and pasted the argument.   • SQL Server: pulling and updating local data
