  I am trying to make my first app for sale, I would like to ask some questions for those who have already sold their software: Have you used a Framework/Lib whose LGPL License? if yes, what are the impressions of your customers? for example, if your customers/ competitors from the market reveal technology/secrets that you used in your solution (as LGPL requires that you make a Dynamic Link (.DLL) for your libs and you clearly tell the use of a Lib/Framework ...). Full story: For my project, I used a framework LGPL/commercial (Dual License) the second one it was too expensive (about 3000 USD) which pushed me to use LGPL.. however I still concerned..   After six months of development on a project, our stakeholders have had a "gut check" and have decided that the path that we've been walking (a custom designed application framework and data access layer) is holding us (the developers) back from quickly developing the features they would like to see. After several days of debate management and the development team have decided to scrap the current incarnation and start over using ASP.net MVC, with Entity Framework as the bases of the a 'quick and dirty', lets just get it done project. In days following, our senior developer who has never worked with MVC or Entity Framework has finally gotten into a sample project and done some work. His take on ASP.net MVC, "this is not software engineering". So my question is this; what do you do, when one doesn't think the code is complicated enough?

• Testing what is happening inside your BizTalk solution

  As BizTalk developers we all know that one of the common challenges is how to test your BizTalk solution once it is deployed to BizTalk. Hopefully most of us are using the BizUnit framework for testing, but we still have the limitation that it's a very Black Box test. I have put together a sample and video to show a technique where I'm using the Logging Framework from the BizTalk CAT Team at Microsoft and where by BizUnit test is able to make assertions against the instrumentation going through the framework. This means that I can test for things happening such as the fact a component was executed or which branch of an orchestration was executed by simply using my normal instrumented code.   I just need to know is it safe to use jQuery and MooTools Together in one web framework? I am not trying create application using both of them, but I am in a situation where I need to modify mootool based application framework, so I am used to jquery, I don't want to waste my time learning mootools and I think jquery is better than the mootools in many contexts like number of applications, plugins etc. so questions are is it safe to use mootools and jquery in one framework? will there be cross browser issues? how robust the application will be when using both?

• Azure price through Unit Testing

  For I project I am trying to find a way to measure an estimation of the costs of an Azure application through Unit Testing. Likely I will extend the Visual Studio Unit Testing framework (or another solution is also possible as long as it can run together (same time/side by side, when the Visual Studio Framework will run some tests the Azure solution must also run (if it is an Azure project)) with the Visual Studio Testing framework.   I'm making a game that uses an Entity/Component architecture basically a port of Artemis's framework to c++,the problem arises when I try to make a PlayerControllerComponent, my original idea was this. class PlayerControllerComponent: Component { public: virtual void update() = 0; }; class FpsPlayerControllerComponent: PlayerControllerComponent { public: void update() { //handle input } }; and have a system that updates PlayerControllerComponents, but I found out that the artemis framework does not look at sub-classes the way I thought it would. So all in all my question here is should I make the framework aware of subclasses or should I add a new Component like object that is used for logic.

• Benefits of TOGAF or similar?

  I can read the website blurb and be impressed by the alleged benefits, but I haven't worked anywhere or with anyone who followed the TOGAF (or any alternative) architecture framework. Our organisation has declared itself dedicated to moving from what is currently a fairly shambolic design & development model towards something approaching a modern structured process. Things like TOGAF have been mentioned as helping achieve a world-class enterprise development environment (!) but I'm convinced that no-one here really understands the real-world benefits that wholesale adoption might bring and, perhaps more importantly, the effort/pain required to achieve the same. Do you have experience in using TOGAF or similar to wrestle control in an organisation? Do you think that use of the framework brought any benefit?   I want to develop an application which would have it's own framework, using which developer can implement functionality very easily. Developer shouldn't have to code for each and every page or report. But, he can do it very easily by just configuring it using the framework provided. Some nice examples of it is SAP and Tally. They have got their own framework, using which anybody having knowledge of it can customize or extend functionality of the product. But, as I am beginner in this direction, I don't have any idea about where to start. Can anybody point me to some design pattern which I can follow or some similar open source software which I can refer?

• Deleting an undeletable Directory in Windows 7

  I have encountered a problem from time to time but have not been able to resolve it without formatting. I have a directory called d:\DotNet that I want to delete. I cannot because inside this folder there is another folder called: T4 Code generation and Misc. When I try to deleting or access T4 Code generation and Misc., I get the following error: Could not find this item This is no longer located in D:\DotNet. Verify this item's location and try again. Hopefully this is a simple fix.

• Http Hanlder must be reset with each deployment. How can I add this functionality to the web.config

  My application is a dotnet 4 hybrid - MVC in some areas, web forms in others. This application was recently upgraded to dotnet 4 and includes a lot of older code and some mismatched parts. Unfortunately it includes a telerik component that requires me to run the Application pool in classic mode. In order to fix this (in IIS7) I have to add a handler mapping to the IIS configuration. This mapping is basically a wildcard mapping that points the wildcard path "*" to the %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll. The problem I am running into is this: For some reason this mapping gets dropped when deploying the site. So, can I add the functionality of this mapping to the web config? If so, How? Or is there another solution to make this manually added mapping "sticky" so that it remains in place during and after a deployment? (I am also asking this on StackOverflow, as I'm not sure if this should be a coding question or a Server question)
