  • PHP Image Upload object won't create directory on windows

    I'm writing a class that excepts a product_id and a $_FILES array as it's constructor. The class saves these variables and uses them to create a new directory named by product_id and attempts to copy the temp file to my specified directory.     I set up Aslak's Cucumber.tmbundle in Texmate, set up PATH in Shell Variables to /Users/gerhard/.rvm/bin:/Users/gerhard/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin but when I run any of the bundle commands I get this: env: sh\r: No such file or directory /usr/bin/env sh is in the search path, so what am I missing?

  • Unlocking a mutex from a different thread (C++)

    I'm using the C++ boost::thread library, which in my case means I'm using pthreads. Officially, a mutex must be unlocked from the same thread which locks it, and I want the effect of being able to lock in one thread and then unlock in another. There are many ways to accomplish this. One possibility would be to write a new mutex class which allows this behavior. For example: class inter_thread_mutex{ bool locked; boost::mutex mx; boost::condition_variable cv; public: void lock(){ boost::unique_lock<boost::mutex> lck(mx); while(locked) cv.wait(lck); locked=true; } void unlock(){ { boost::lock_guard<boost::mutex> lck(mx); if(!locked) error(); locked=false; } cv.notify_one(); } // bool try_lock(); void error(); etc. } I should point out that the above code doesn't guarantee FIFO access, since if one thread calls lock() while another calls unlock(), this first thread may acquire the lock ahead of other threads which are waiting. (Come to think of it, the boost::thread documentation doesn't appear to make any explicit scheduling guarantees for either mutexes or condition variables). But let's just ignore that (and any other bugs) for now. My question is, if I decide to go this route, would I be able to use such a mutex as a model for the boost Lockable concept. For example, would anything go wrong if I use a boost::unique_lock< inter_thread_mutex for RAII-style access, and then pass this lock to boost::condition_variable_any.wait(), etc. On one hand I don't see why not. On the other hand, "I don't see why not" is usually a very bad way of determining whether something will work. The reason I ask is that if it turns out that I have to write wrapper classes for RAII locks and condition variables and whatever else, then I'd rather just find some other way to achieve the same effect.

    Greeting all, "iptables -L" gives the following output [root@ibmd ~]# iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Server has global IP and can be accessed from outer IPs.But I cannot ping nor telnet to any port (including TCP 80) from the server.   • How to make multiple queries with PHP prepared statements (Commands out of sync error)

    I'm trying to run three MySQL queries from a PHP script, the first one works fine, but on the second one I get the "Commands out of sync; you can’t run this command now" error. I have managed to understand that I need to "empty" the resultset before preparing a new query but I can't seem to understand how. I thought that $statement-close; would do that for me.   • Drupal Module Development: How to Communicate between form_submit and page handler functions

    I am writing a module and I need to retrieve values set in a form_submit function from a page handler function. The reason is that I am rendering results of a form submit on the same page as the page handler. I have this working, but I am using global variables, which I don't like. I'd like to be able to use the $form_state['storage'] for this, but can't since I don't have access to the $form_state variable from the page handler. Any suggestions?

  • PHP Mcrypt - Encrypting / Decrypting file

    Trying to write a couple of functions that will encrypt or decrypt a file and am using the class found here to try and accomplish this: http://www.itnewb.com/v/PHP-Encryption-Decryption-Using-the-MCrypt-Library-libmcrypt The encryption function below seems to work, in that it appears to encrypt the file and place it in the intended directory. I'm trying to decrypt the file now, and it just dies with the message "Failed to complete decryption" (which is coded in there...) There's nothing in the php error logs, so I'm not sure why it's failing, but as mcrypt is entirely new to me, I'm more than inclined to believe I'm doing something wrong here...   • Where to keep a querystring parameter in session ?

    Users will get to my site using a specific parameter, e.g. : http://www.mysite.com/whatever/?keepTrackOfThisValue=foo or http://www.mysite.com/who/cares/?keepTrackOfThisValue=bar I would like to store the value of this peculiar parameter in Session everytime I found it in the QueryString. I'm currently using the Session_Start event in Global.asax in order to store this but I would like to override the value each time the parameter value change, which is not possible my way. Where would you do this ?

    Hi, I have a product built out of multiple processes. Each process uses internally commons configuration. Does anyone have an idea how to manage the config? I.e. we do not want to duplicate variables so each process will be able to read them. Additionally, DB solution is no good, as we do not want to be dependent on DB for something like configuration.     Hi, I can't decide which approach is better for creating objects with a large number of fields (10+) (all mandatory) the constructor approach of the getter/setter. Constructor at least you enforce that all the fields are set. Java Beans easier to see which variables are being set instead of a huge list. The builder pattern DOES NOT seem suitable here as all the fields are mandatory and the builder requires you put all mandatory parameters in the builder constructor. Thanks, D

    As far as I know, in case of an uncaught exception, C++ destroys the local variables immediately, Java releases the references and leaves the rest for the garbage collector. Is this right? What exactly is the difference between Java and C++ on this issue? in other words, which of these two languages is considered better in terms of stack unwinding issue? :)

I want to be able to create my instance of TPrinter and print using that one. I tried with: MyPrinter := TPrinter.Create; MyPrinter.BeginDoc; but this generates AV.     I'm trying to implement a database build using VSTS 2008 Database Edition. The build always fails on the following constraint: ALTER TABLE [dbo].[tablename] ADD CONSTRAINT [DF_tablename_date] DEFAULT (CONVERT([varchar],dateadd(hour,(-1),getdate()),(1))) FOR [date]; The error that it shows is the following: TSD03082: The name "hour" is not permitted in this context. Valid expressions are constants, constant expressions, and (in some contexts) variables. Column names are not permitted. Anybody have an idea what is wrong here?
