  • Java Swing- Create a function to add elements to JScrollPanel

    - by battousai622
    I want to create a function so that i can call add JLabel's, etc inside the JScrollPanel. I am not sure what the command is in NetBeans. I tried doing JScrollPanel - events - container - componentAdded to create the code below. But nothing shows up when i add code to that function. private void initComponents() { scrollPanel = new javax.swing.JScrollPane(); scrollPanel.addContainerListener(new java.awt.event.ContainerAdapter() { public void componentAdded(java.awt.event.ContainerEvent evt) { scrollPanelComponentAdded(evt); } } private void scrollPanelComponentAdded(java.awt.event.ContainerEvent evt) { System.out.println("main"); } Any help would be great, thanks.

  • Delegates vs. events in Cocoa

    - by aaronstacy
    I'm writing my first iPhone app, and I've been exploring the design patterns in Cocoa and Objective-C. I come from a background of client-side web development, so I'm trying to wrap my head around delegates. Specifically, I don't see why delegate objects are needed instead of event handlers. For instance, when the user presses a button, it is handled with an event (UITouchUpInside), but when the user finishes inputting to a text box and closes it with the 'Done' button, the action is handled by calling a method on the text box's delegate (textFieldShouldReturn). Why use a delegate method instead of an event? I also notice this in the view controller with the viewDidLoad method. Why not just use events?

  • Restricting numeric input javascript problem

    - by neitony
    I'm trying to figure out why my javascript code is not restricting numeric input. Here's the code below: (function(){ if(window.addEventListener) window.addEventListener("load",init,false); else if(window.attachEvent) window.attachEvent("onload",init); function init() { var keytest = document.getElementById("keytest"); function numericinput(event) { var e = event || window.event; var key = e.charcode || e.keyCode; var regex =/^\d+\.?\d{4}$/; key = String.fromCharCode(key); if (!regex.test(key)) { alert("something"); //if(e.preventDefault) e.preventDefault(); //if(e.returnValue) e.returnValue = false; //return false; } else { //return true; alert("something else"); } } if(keytest.addEventListener) keytest.addEventListener("keypress",numericinput,false); else { keytest.onkeypress = numericinput(); } } })();

  • jQuery mobile swipe spamming and animation

    - by halliewuud
    I have say 5 list items with images inside placed 200px from eachother. I am trying to animate these list items to slide horizontally left if one presses a link with the id = #next or if one swipes left. And vice versa for sliding the list items right. Every click or swipe results in a slide animation of 200px on every list item. I ran into a problem where spamming the #next or #prev button would cancel the current animation and start a new one. This results in list items not sliding 200px+200px+200... but something like this 200px+140px+120... This because like I said the animation is cut and therefore the sliding distance will be shorter. Now I solved this for the clicking event by disabling the button before the animation starts and then re'enabling it on the end callbak function. But this problem is remaining for the swipe event. How can I solve this problem for the swipe event?

  • null pointer exception on list.add

    - by Eric
    I've been working on this one error for a few hours so I thought I'd pick the brains of some pros. I am getting a null pointer exception at the modelData.add(i, es) method. I know from debugging that es isn't null. I'm really confused, thanks. public class EventTableModel extends AbstractTableModel { //private int rowCount = 0; protected List<EventSeat> modelData; private static final int COLUMN_COUNT = 3; private Event e; Event j = GUIpos.m; int i = 1; public EventTableModel(Event e) { this.e = e; try { System.out.println(modelData); for (EventSeat es : e.getEventSeats()) { modelData.add(i, es); i++; } } catch (DataException ex) { Logger.getLogger(EventTableModel.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } }

    - by Andrew
    I am trying to add the onkeydown attribute to an asp:textbox. For some reason my code can't find the textbox that is inside a loginview. Am I doing something wrong? <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload = function() { UserName.Attributes.Add("onKeyDown", "KeyDownHandler('" + btn.ClientID + "')"); Password.Attributes.Add("onKeyDown", "KeyDownHandler('" + btn.ClientID + "')"); } function KeyDownHandler(btn) { if (event.keyCode == 13) { event.returnValue=false; event.cancel = true; document.getElementById(btn).click(); } } </script>

  • How to make HTML5 speech recognition not ask permission every time

    - by user2081044
    I have created a script that requires my microphone. It uses the HTML5 speech recognition API. Chrome asks permission every time I want to perform a speech recognition test. Javascript (partial) code that I am using: var recognition = new webkitSpeechRecognition(); recognition.continuous = true; recognition.interimResults = true; recognition.onresult = function(event) { console.log(event.results[0][0].transcript); if(event.results[0][0].transcript === 'print') { console.log(''); } }; recognition.start(); I have tried to add it into the list of exceptions in either Chrome and Flash player, but it still asks for permission. Printscreen: That message pops up everytime I click the button. Is there any way to disable Chrome for asking permission?

  • How to get new logs in an EventLogEntyCollection?

    - by Massimo
    I need to monitor security event logs on very busy domain controllers, which generates hundreds of them each minute. I know how to use EventLog, EventLogEntry and EvenLogEntryCollection to open and read a server's event log, but an EvenLogEntryCollection can contain ~300.000 events, and it wraps around continuously (and very fast), so I can't rely on its index to find new entries. So far, the only thing I was able to come up with is saving the timestamp of the last processed log entry and then iterate above the EventLogEntryCollection until I find an EventLogEntry which TimeGenerated properties is greater than the timestamp I saved; but it's terribly slow to iterate on ~300.000 entries to find the new ones. How can I quickly find the new entries in an big event log?
