    T4 has existed for several years in Visual Studio, but doesn't get a lot of attention. However, for those that know it, there seems to be some very creative and useful purposes. I am researching some different ways that T4 is used, and I would appreciate to hear how YOU may have used it for real life scenarios. I am primarily interested in non-standard and creative uses. Some interesting examples: Phil Haack uses T4 to create static CSS files from .less To Generate WPF and Silverlight Dependency Properties using T4 Templates Note: I realize this is a discussion-oriented question, but the answers could be helpful to others. It has to recursively traverse all sub folders. findFiles(folder, extension, cb); I think a lot developers should have great and tested solution and it is better to use it than writing one myself.

    I'm aware of Doxygen to generate the documentation. What I'm looking for is quick way to insert documentation in Xcode similar to what Eclipse does when editing Java files. Let's say I have an objective-c method with a couple of arguments like this: -(NSInteger*) sumOf: (NSInteger*) one and:(NSInteger*) two {... In Eclipse, if you place the cursor above the method and type: /**<Enter> you get a Javadoc template pre-populated with @param and @return tags. Is it possible to achieve something similar in Xcode?   • How do I generate an Array string from an array in memory (php).

    I need to create a big array in my code, I have the values in several tables (for easy management). I select it and now I have all the values in an array, in memory in the way I want. My problem, I need to write this array down, into the code. Is there a way to take an array which sits in the memory and translate it into a string "array('g'='h','b'='d'....)" which I can then echo and just copy-paste into my code?

  • Throw blank even-numbered/left pages

    I am trying to typeset a large document using ReportLab and Python 2.7. It has a number of sections (about 6 in a 1,000 page document) and I would like each to start on odd-numbered/right-hand page. I have no idea though whether the preceding page will be odd or even and so need the ability to optionally throw an additional blank page before a particular paragraph style (like you sometimes get in manuals where some pages are "intentionally left blank"). Can anyone suggest how this could be done, as the only conditional page break I can find works on the basis of the amount of text on the page not a page number. I also need to make sure that the blank page is included in the PDF so that double-sided printing works.

    Over at html syntax to display literal string i asked about displaying a literal. When i tried : http://sdrv.ms/1bEsPWz (as the posted sample will not display, i need to show a picture, as i don't have 10 xxx, i can't insert a picture, I am only left with a skydrive reference) In english, the and syntax was tried but it failed to show all content inside the block. It only showed the "is equal to - pre sample " part. I thought - did not care what was inside ? Can some explain how to make a truely literal block display ? I have my reasons why i don't want to have the " syntax in the html. Thanks

    Hello all, My current project requires me to assemble a .zip file containing HTML and text-only templates for a user to download, for importing into an email marketing program. I've inherited this project, and currently the code uses a "fake" model (that is a model that does not directly correlate to a database table), in which it stores the entire template in a string, using dynamic variables to populate certain areas. The "fake" model then has a method for creating a zip file. It seems to me that there has to be a better way to do this. I was wondering if there was a way to move the template into a .erb/haml file, and then write a method that would populate the file in preparation for being zipped up? Basically, is there a way to render an HTML and text file, without actually having to display them? Thanks for any help.

  • Are there any data-binding solution that works in C++ and GWT and supports structures polymorphism?

    I expect it should share a common description, like XmlSchema or IDL and should generate classes for target language. I found Thrift and it's really nice solution, but it doesn't support structures polymorphism. I would like to have collections of base class objects, where I could place instances of subclasses, serialize this and deserialize at the opposite side. Some mechanism of polymorphic behavior support, like Visitor, would be a perfect. Does anybody know something suitable for these requirements?

EDIT: currently im using the id of the image: id = 55 then i modify and i get path = 000000055 then path = "000/000/055" then path = "000/000/055/thumb.jpg" ready to use! now i want something more clever because is easy to track down all the images from a server, because ids are sequencial: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... so i must think of creating from 55 a string that is 7 char length and will not overlap with other numbers. I can even transform the 55 to 0000055 and from this convert to a 7 char length string using a secret string. then when i got the secret string and the id i want to get back that 7 char length string. Is this possible? i was thinking about hases but they only uses 0-9 and a-e and are more chars.. :s

    I am receiving data from a web service, and some of the strings have html entities in them, for example: {"prop": "htmlentity - é"} The &eacute; is not being parsed to é. My question is twofold: 1. Is this even supposed to happen? I looked through the JSON spec the best I could, but couldn't find any reference to html entities. 2. What is the right way to do this with a DataContractJsonSerializer, if there is a right way?
