  • Django - The included urlconf doesn't have any patterns in it

    - by unsorted
    My website, which was working before, suddenly started breaking with the error "ImproperlyConfigured at / The included urlconf resume.urls doesn't have any patterns in it" The project base is called resume. In settings.py I have set ROOT_URLCONF = 'resume.urls' Here's my resume.urls, which sits in the project root directory. from django.conf.urls.defaults import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^resume/', include('resume.foo.urls')), # Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add 'django.contrib.admindocs' # to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation: (r'^admin/doc/', include('django.contrib.admindocs.urls')), # Uncomment the next line to enable the admin: (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), (r'^accounts/login/$', 'django.contrib.auth.views.login'), #(r'^employer/', include(students.urls)), (r'^ajax/', include('urls.ajax')), (r'^student/', include('students.urls')), (r'^club/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.club_detail'), (r'^company/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.company_detail'), (r'^program/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.program_detail'), (r'^course/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.course_detail'), (r'^career/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.career_detail'), (r'^site_media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': 'C:/code/django/resume/media'}), ) I have a folder called urls and a file ajax.py inside. (I also created a blank init.py in the same folder so that urls would be recognized.) This is ajax.py. from django.conf.urls.defaults import * urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^star/(?P<object_id>\d+)$', 'resume.students.ajax-calls.star'), ) Anyone know what's wrong? This is driving me crazy. Thanks,

  • How can I apply a style to existing tikz node on specific slides

    - by Eugene Pimenov
    This is what I'm trying to do \begin{tikzpicture} [node distance = 1cm, auto,font=\footnotesize, % STYLES every node/.style={node distance=1.3cm}, comment/.style={rectangle, inner sep= 5pt, text width=4cm, node distance=0.25cm, font=}, module/.style={rectangle, drop shadow, draw, fill=black!10, inner sep=5pt, text width=3cm, text badly centered, minimum height=0.8cm, font=\bfseries\footnotesize\sffamily,rounded corners}, selected/.style={fill=red!40}] \node [module] (nodeA) {node A}; \node [module, below of=nodeA] (nodeA) {node B}; \only<1>{ \node [comment, text width=6cm, right=0.25 of nodeA] {short description of Node A}; \node [comment, text width=6cm, right=0.25 of nodeB] {short description of Node B}; } \only<2>{ \node [selected] (nodeA) {}; \node [comment, text width=6cm, right=0.25 of nodeA] {long description of node A}; } \only<3>{ \node [selected] (nodeB) {}; \node [comment, text width=6cm, right=0.25 of nodeA] {long description of node B}; } \end{tikzpicture} The problem is \node [selected] (nodeB) {}; creates a new node, but I want it to apply the style for the existing node. Is there any way to do so? Of course I could have copies of every node in selected state and not-selected state, but I really want to have a normal solution.

  • How to manipulate a header and then continue with it in C#?

    - by Simon Linder
    Hi all, I want to replace an old ISAPI filter that ran on IIS6. This filter checks if the request is of a special kind, then manipulates the header and continues with the request. Two headers are added in the manipulating method that I need for calling another special ISAPI module. So I have ISAPI C++ code like: DWORD OnPreProc(HTTP_FILTER_CONTEXT *pfc, HTTP_FILTER_PREPROC_HEADERS *pHeaders) { if (ManipulateHeaderInSomeWay(pfc, pHeaders)) { return SF_STATUS_REQ_NEXT_NOTIFICATION; } return SF_STATUS_REQ_FINISHED; } I now want to rewrite this ISAPI filter as a managed module for the IIS7. So I have something like this: private void OnMapRequestHandler(HttpContext context) { ManipulateHeaderInSomeWay(context); } And now what? The request seems not to do what it should? I already wrote an IIS7 native module that implements the same method. But this method has a return value with which I can tell what to do next: REQUEST_NOTIFICATION_STATUS CMyModule::OnMapRequestHandler(IN IHttpContext *pHttpContext, OUT IMapHandlerProvider *pProvider) { if (DoSomething(pHttpContext)) { return RQ_NOTIFICATION_CONTINUE; } return RQ_NOTIFICATION_FINISH_REQUEST; } So is there a way to send my manipulated context again?

  • Fixing a multi-threaded pycurl crash.

    - by Rook
    If I run pycurl in a single thread everything works great. If I run pycurl in 2 threads python will access violate. The first thing I did was report the problem to pycurl, but the project died about 3 years ago so I'm not holding my breath. My (hackish) solution is to build a 2nd version of pycurl called "pycurl_thread" which will only be used by the 2nd thread. I downloaded the pycurl module from sourceforge and I made a total of 4 line changes. But python is still crashing. My guess is that even though this is a module with a different name (import pycurl_thread), its still sharing memory with the original module (import pycurl). How should I solve this problem? Changes in pycurl.c: initpycurl(void) to initpycurl_thread(void) and m = Py_InitModule3("pycurl", curl_methods, module_doc); to m = Py_InitModule3("pycurl_thread", curl_methods, module_doc); Changes in setup.py: PACKAGE = "pycurl" PY_PACKAGE = "curl" to PACKAGE = "pycurl_thread" PY_PACKAGE = "curl_thread" Here is the seg fault i'm getting. This is happening within the C function do_curl_perform(). *** longjmp causes uninitialized stack frame ***: python2.7 terminated ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x37)[0x7f209421b537] /lib/libc.so.6(+0xff4c9)[0x7f209421b4c9] /lib/libc.so.6(__longjmp_chk+0x33)[0x7f209421b433] /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4(+0xe3a5)[0x7f20931da3a5] /lib/libpthread.so.0(+0xfb40)[0x7f209532eb40] /lib/libc.so.6(__poll+0x53)[0x7f20941f6203] /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4(Curl_socket_ready+0x116)[0x7f2093208876] /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4(+0x2faec)[0x7f20931fbaec] /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pycurl.so(+0x892b)[0x7f209342c92b] python2.7(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x58a1)[0x4adf81] python2.7(PyEval_EvalCodeEx+0x891)[0x4af7c1] python2.7(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x538b)[0x4ada6b] python2.7(PyEval_EvalFrameEx+0x65f9)[0x4aecd9]

  • Why setPreferredSize does not change the size of the button?

    - by Roman
    Here is the code: import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.awt.*; public class TestGrid { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame("Colored Trails"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(); mainPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(mainPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS)); JPanel panel = new JPanel(); panel.setLayout(new GridLayout(4, 9)); panel.setMaximumSize(new Dimension(9*30-20,4*30)); JButton btn; for (int i=1; i<=4; i++) { for (int j=1; j<=4; j++) { btn = new JButton(); btn.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(30, 30)); panel.add(btn); } btn = new JButton(); btn.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(30, 10)); panel.add(btn); for (int j=1; j<=4; j++) { btn = new JButton(); btn.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(30, 30)); panel.add(btn); } } mainPanel.add(panel); frame.add(mainPanel); frame.setSize(450,950); frame.setVisible(true); } } I suppose to have a table of buttons with 4 rows and 9 columns. And the middle column should be narrower that other columns. I tried Dimension(30, 10) and Dimension(30, 10) both have no effect on the width of the middle column. Why?

  • help('modules') crashing?

  • Python: saving and loading objects and using pickle.

    - by Peterstone
    Hello, I´m trying to save and load objects using pickle module. First I declare my objects: >>> class Fruits:pass ... >>> banana = Fruits() >>> banana.color = 'yellow' >>> banana.value = 30 After that I open a file called 'Fruits.obj'(previously I created a new .txt file and I renamed 'Fruits.obj'): >>> import pickle >>> filehandler = open(b"Fruits.obj","wb") >>> pickle.dump(banana,filehandler) After do this I close my session and I began a new one and I put the next (trying to access to the object that it supposed to be saved): file = open("Fruits.obj",'r') object_file = pickle.load(file) But I have this message: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Python31\lib\pickle.py", line 1365, in load encoding=encoding, errors=errors).load() ValueError: read() from the underlying stream did notreturn bytes I don´t know what to do because I don´t understand this message. Does anyone know How I can load my object 'banana'? Thank you! EDIT: As some of you have sugested I put: >>> import pickle >>> file = open("Fruits.obj",'rb') There were no problem, but the next I put was: >>> object_file = pickle.load(file) And I have error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Python31\lib\pickle.py", line 1365, in load encoding=encoding, errors=errors).load() EOFError

  • Why aren't my coordinates matching my JFrame size?

    - by AsLanFromNarnia
    I want to do some drawing in a JPanel but the enclosing JFrame size doesn't seem to match where I've asked the coordinates to be drawn. In my example code, the JFrame size is set to (700, 700) and the last point is drawn at (600, 600). I would expect this point to be drawn 100 pixels away from the right and bottom edges but it isn't (please see screenshot). Here's the code I'm using: import java.awt.Graphics; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class Scratch extends JPanel { static int frameWidth = 700; static int frameHeight = 700; public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.setSize(frameWidth, frameHeight); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); Scratch scratch = new Scratch(); frame.getContentPane().add(scratch); frame.setVisible(true); } @Override public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { g.drawRect(100, 100, 1, 1); g.drawString("100", 100, 100); g.drawRect(200, 200, 1, 1); g.drawString("200", 200, 200); g.drawRect(300, 300, 1, 1); g.drawString("300", 300, 300); g.drawRect(400, 400, 1, 1); g.drawString("400", 400, 400); g.drawRect(500, 500, 1, 1); g.drawString("500", 500, 500); g.drawRect(600, 600, 1, 1); g.drawString("600", 600, 600); } }

  • how do simple SQLAlchemy relationships work?

    - by Carson Myers
    I'm no database expert -- I just know the basics, really. I've picked up SQLAlchemy for a small project, and I'm using the declarative base configuration rather than the "normal" way. This way seems a lot simpler. However, while setting up my database schema, I realized I don't understand some database relationship concepts. If I had a many-to-one relationship before, for example, articles by authors (where each article could be written by only a single author), I would put an author_id field in my articles column. But SQLAlchemy has this ForeignKey object, and a relationship function with a backref kwarg, and I have no idea what any of it MEANS. I'm scared to find out what a many-to-many relationship with an intermediate table looks like (when I need additional data about each relationship). Can someone demystify this for me? Right now I'm setting up to allow openID auth for my application. So I've got this: from __init__ import Base from sqlalchemy.schema import Column from sqlalchemy.types import Integer, String class Users(Base): __tablename__ = 'users' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) username = Column(String, unique=True) email = Column(String) password = Column(String) salt = Column(String) class OpenID(Base): __tablename__ = 'openid' url = Column(String, primary_key=True) user_id = #? I think the ? should be replaced by Column(Integer, ForeignKey('users.id')), but I'm not sure -- and do I need to put openids = relationship("OpenID", backref="users") in the Users class? Why? What does it do? What is a backref?

  • Drupal6: How to programmatically style a block?

    - by Fronker
    In Drupal6, I basically have a block (a hierarchical menu structure) that turns out like this in HTML: <div class="block block-menu_block" id="block-menu_block-1"> <div class="content"> <div class="menu-block-1 menu-name-menu-navigation parent-mlid-0 menu-level-1"> <ul class="menu"> <li class="leaf first menu-mlid-248 active active-trail"><a class="active-trail active" title="" href="/">Start</a></li> <li class="expanded menu-mlid-249 active"><a class="active" title="" href="/">Aktuell</a> <ul class="menu"> <li class="leaf first menu-mlid-259"> <a title="News und Presse" href="/news-und-presse">News and Press</a> </li>... What I would like to get is actually a lot simpler: <div id="topmenu"> <ul class="one"> <li>some main entry <ul> <li> some sub entry ... or maybe: <div id="topmenu"> <h2>some main entry</h2> <h3><a href="#">some sub entry</a></h3> <h3><a href="#">another sub entry</a></h3> <h2>another main entry</h2> So, keeping the structure, but being able to use simpler, even completely different tags, if and when needed. I think I understand from the drupal docs, that I am (maybe) looking at <div class="block block-menu_block" id="block-menu_block-1" ==> module := menu_block delta := 1 (?) regrettably, none of the suggested * block-[module]-[delta].tpl.php * block-[module].tpl.php * block-[region].tpl.php placed next to page.tpl.php has any impact (yes, I did clear the cache).

  • questions about using svn

    - by ajsie
    i have set up a svn repository in a remote ubuntu server using webdav (http://ip/svn). but i have some questions: should i create one svn repository for each project folder? so i should use "svnadmin create" 5 times for 5 projects? or should i import them to seperate folders in the svn repository? should i after i have created a svn repo, import one project folder into it with "svn import" and then DELETE my original local folder thus only having it in the svn repo in the remote ubuntu server? is this safe or should i still have a local copy for some reason (cause i wont work in that one)? i use netbeans to check out projects from svn repo, then i edit the files and commit the changes. but how should i do to update the live web server content (in /var/www)? should i in my ubuntu server use "svn checkout" and check it out to /var/www or should i use netbeans to check out to a local folder and then upload the files to /var/www with ftp or webdav (and which one of them should i use)? so i got a svn repo and lets say 4 programmers are working with it, checking out and commiting. how do i check what is happening in the repo, which one made which changes, and all the changes from day 1 to day 213? does netbeans/eclipse letting me see this kind of information or do i download another application for it? i should have one svn user for each programmer in the ubuntu server? is this accomplished by using "htpasswd" 4 times for 4 programmers? how do i couple all these users to same group so that i could modify file access specific for the svn group and all its members?

    This is fast: select ba.name, penamt.value penamt, #address_line4.value address_line4 from account a join customer c on a.customer_id = c.id join branch br on a.branch_id = br.id join bank ba on br.bank_id = ba.id join account_address aa on aa.account_id = a.id join address ad on aa.address_id = ad.id join state s on ad.state_id = s.id join import i on a.import_id = i.id join import_bundle ib on i.import_bundle_id = ib.id join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'PENAMT') penamt ON penamt.account_id = a.id #join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'Address Line 4') address_line4 ON address_line4.account_id = a.id where i.active=1 And this is fast: select ba.name, #penamt.value penamt, address_line4.value address_line4 from account a join customer c on a.customer_id = c.id join branch br on a.branch_id = br.id join bank ba on br.bank_id = ba.id join account_address aa on aa.account_id = a.id join address ad on aa.address_id = ad.id join state s on ad.state_id = s.id join import i on a.import_id = i.id join import_bundle ib on i.import_bundle_id = ib.id #join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'PENAMT') penamt ON penamt.account_id = a.id join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'Address Line 4') address_line4 ON address_line4.account_id = a.id where i.active=1 But this is slow: select ba.name, penamt.value penamt, address_line4.value address_line4 from account a join customer c on a.customer_id = c.id join branch br on a.branch_id = br.id join bank ba on br.bank_id = ba.id join account_address aa on aa.account_id = a.id join address ad on aa.address_id = ad.id join state s on ad.state_id = s.id join import i on a.import_id = i.id join import_bundle ib on i.import_bundle_id = ib.id join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'PENAMT') penamt ON penamt.account_id = a.id join (select * from unused where heading_label = 'Address Line 4') address_line4 ON address_line4.account_id = a.id where i.active=1 Why is it fast when I include just one of the two subqueries but slow when I include both? I would think it should be twice as slow when I include both, but it takes a really long time. On on MySQL.

  • Why isn't componentHidden called for my JPopupMenu?

    - by heycam
    I want to be notified when my JPopupMenu is hidden — whether because an item was selected, the menu was dismissed, or setVisible(false) was called on it. Here is my test code: import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class A extends ComponentAdapter implements Runnable, ActionListener { private JButton b; public static void main(String[] args) { EventQueue.invokeLater(new A()); } public void run() { JFrame f = new JFrame("Test"); b = new JButton("Click me"); b.addActionListener(this); f.add(b); f.pack(); f.setVisible(true); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { JPopupMenu pm = new JPopupMenu(); pm.addComponentListener(this); pm.add("Popup..."); pm.add("...menu!"); pm.show(b, 10, 10); } public void componentShown(ComponentEvent e) { System.out.println("componentShown"); } public void componentHidden(ComponentEvent e) { System.out.println("componentHidden"); } } Regardless of how I interact with the menu, neither of the two ComponentListener methods are being called. Why is that? Is there different/better/correct way of finding out when my JPopupMenu is hidden? Thanks, Cameron

  • VB.NET pinvoke declaration wrong?

    I copied and pasted the following VB.NET structure from the pinvoke website. http://www.pinvoke.net/default.aspx/Structures/BITMAPINFOHEADER.html However when I paste it into a module under the module name like this, VB.NET is telling me that a declaration is expected: Option Strict Off Option Explicit On Imports System Imports System.Diagnostics Imports System.Drawing Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices Imports System.Windows.Forms Module modDrawing StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)>Public Structure BITMAPINFOHEADER <FieldOffset(0)> Public biSize As Int32 <FieldOffset(4)> Public biWidth As Int32 <FieldOffset(8)> Public biHeight As Int32 <FieldOffset(12)> Public biPlanes As Int16 <FieldOffset(14)> Public biBitCount As Int16 <FieldOffset(16)> Public biCompression As Int32 <FieldOffset(20)> Public biSizeImage As Int32 <FieldOffset(24)> Public biXPelsperMeter As Int32 <FieldOffset(28)> Public biYPelsPerMeter As Int32 <FieldOffset(32)> Public biClrUsed As Int32 <FieldOffset(36)> Public biClrImportant As Int32 End Structure Where did I go wrong, please? • Help creating custom iPhone Classes

    - by seanny94
    This should be a simple question, but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm trying to create my own class which will provide a simpler way of playing short sounds using the AudioToolbox framework as provided by Apple. When I import these files into my project and attempt to utilize them, they just don't seem to work. I was hoping someone would shed some light on what I may be doing wrong here. simplesound.h #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface simplesound : NSObject { IBOutlet UILabel *statusLabel; } @property(nonatomic, retain) UILabel *statusLabel; - (void)playSimple:(NSString *)url; @end simplesound.m #import "simplesound.h" @implementation simplesound @synthesize statusLabel; - (void)playSimple:(NSString *)url { if (url = @"vibrate") { AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(kSystemSoundID_Vibrate); statusLabel.text = @"VIBRATED!"; } else { NSString *paths = [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]; NSString *audioF1ile = [paths stringByAppendingPathComponent:url]; NSURL *audioURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:audioFile isDirectory:NO]; SystemSoundID mySSID; OSStatus error = AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID ((CFURLRef)audioURL,&mySSID); AudioServicesAddSystemSoundCompletion(mySSID,NULL,NULL,simpleSoundDone,NULL); if (error) { statusLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Error: %d",error]; } else { AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(mySSID); } } static void simpleSoundDone (SystemSoundID mySSID, void *args) { AudioServicesDisposeSystemSoundID (mySSID); } } - (void)dealloc { [url release]; } @end Does anyone see what I'm trying to accomplish here? Does anyone know how to remedy this code that is supposedly wrong?

  • Python Twisted Client Connection Lost

    - by MovieYoda
    I have this twisted client, which connects with a twisted server having an index. I ran this client from command-line. It worked fine. Now I modified it to run in loop (see main()) so that I can keep querying. But the client runs only once. Next time it simply says connection lost \n Connection lost - goodbye!. • how to close a java frame with threads

    - by user261002
    I have a java frame that I want to close it automatically after 3 or 4 seconds. I found out I must used threads. but I dont know how exactly to do it, this a dumy part of my code : package intro; import java.awt.*; import java.io.IOException; //import view.LangMenu; public class IntroClass extends Frame { private int _screenWidth = 0; private int _screenHeight = 0; private int _screenCenterx = 0; private int _screenCentery = 0; //private static final String SOUND_PATH="/sounds/introSound.midi"; public IntroClass() { Toolkit thisScreen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit(); Dimension thisScrrensize = thisScreen.getScreenSize(); _screenWidth = thisScrrensize.width; _screenHeight = thisScrrensize.height; _screenCenterx = _screenWidth / 2; _screenCentery = _screenHeight / 2; setBackground(Color.pink); Label lbl = new Label("Welcome To Dots Game. Samaneh Khaleghi", Label.CENTER); add(lbl); setUndecorated(true); setLocation((_screenCenterx*50)/100,_screenCentery-(_screenCentery*50)/100); setSize((_screenWidth * 50) / 100, (_screenHeight * 50) / 100); WaitClass r = new WaitClass(); r.start(); view.DotsBoardFrame d=new view.DotsBoardFrame(); main.Main.showScreen(d); } class WaitClass extends Thread { boolean running = true; public void run() { while (running) { try { Thread.sleep(50); } catch (InterruptedException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } } }

  • Instantiating and starting a Scala Actor in a Map

    - by Bruce Ferguson
    I'm experimenting with a map of actors, and would like to know how to instantiate them and start them in one fell swoop... import scala.actors.Actor import scala.actors.Actor._ import scala.collection.mutable._ abstract class Message case class Update extends Message object Test { val groupings = "group1" :: "group2" :: "group3":: Nil val myActorMap = new HashMap[String,MyActor] def main(args : Array[String]) { groupings.foreach(group => myActorMap += (group -> new MyActor)) myActorMap("group2").start myActorMap("group2") ! Update } } class MyActor extends Actor { def act() { loop { react { case Update => println("Received Update") case _ => println("Ignoring event") } } } } The line: myActorMap("group2").start will grab the second instance, and let me start it, but I would like to be able to do something more like: groupings.foreach(group => myActorMap += (group -> (new MyActor).start)) but no matter how I wrap the new Actor, the compiler complains with something along the lines of: type mismatch; found : scala.actors.Actor required: com.myCompany.test.MyActor or various other complaints. I know it must be something simple to do with anonymous classes, but I can't see it right now. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

  • How do I abort a socket.recv() from another thread in python?

    - by Samuel Skånberg
    I have a main thread that waits for connection. It spawns client threads that will echo the response from the client (telnet in this case). But say that I want to close down all sockets and all threads after some time, like after 1 connection. How would I do? If I do clientSocket.close() from the main thread, it won't stop doing the recv. It will only stop if I first send something through telnet, then it will fail doing further sends and recvs. My code look like this: # Echo server program import socket from threading import Thread import time class ClientThread(Thread): def __init__(self, clientSocket): Thread.__init__(self) self.clientSocket = clientSocket def run(self): while 1: try: # It will hang here, even if I do close on the socket data = self.clientSocket.recv(1024) print "Got data: ", data self.clientSocket.send(data) except: break self.clientSocket.close() HOST = '' PORT = 6000 serverSocket = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) serverSocket.setsockopt(socket.SOL_SOCKET, socket.SO_REUSEADDR, 1) serverSocket.bind((HOST, PORT)) serverSocket.listen(1) clientSocket, addr = serverSocket.accept() print 'Got a new connection from: ', addr clientThread = ClientThread(clientSocket) clientThread.start() time.sleep(1) # This won't make the recv in the clientThread to stop immediately, # nor will it generate an exception clientSocket.close()

  • Django Database design -- Is this a good stragety for overriding defaults

    - by rh0dium
    Hi SO's I have a question on good database design practices and I would like to leverage you guys for pointers. The project started out simple. Hey we have a bunch of questions we want answered for every project (no problem) Which turned into... Hey we have so many questions can we group them into sections (yup we can do that) Which lead into.. Can we weight these questions and I don't really want some of these questions for my project (Yes but we are getting difficult) And then I'm thinking they will want to have each section have it's own weight.. Requirements So there's the requirements - For n number of project Allow a admin member the ability select the questions for a project Allow the admin member to re-weigh or use the default weights for the questions Allow the admin member to re-weight the sections Allow team members to answer the questions. So here is what I came up with. Please feel free to comment and provide better examples models.py from django.db import models from django.contrib.sites.models import Site from django.conf import settings class Section(models.Model): """ This describes the various sections for a checklist: """ name = models.CharField(max_length=64) description = models.TextField() class Question(models.Model): """ This simply provides a simple way to list out the questions. """ question = models.CharField(max_length=255) answer_type = models.CharField(max_length=16) description = models.TextField() section = models.ForeignKey(Section) class ProjectQuestion(models.Model): """ These are the questions relevant to the project """ question = models.ForeignKey(Question) answer = models.CharField(max_length=255) required = models.BooleanField(default=True) weight = models.FloatField(default = XXX) class Project(models.Model): """ Here is where we want to gather our questions """ questions = models.ManyToManyField(ProjectQuestion) Immediate questions: - When I start a project - any ideas on how to "pre-populate" the questions (and ultimately the weights) for the project? - Is there a generally accepted method for doing this process that I am missing? Basically the idea that you refer to the questions overide your own default weight, and store the answer? - It appears that a good chuck of the work will be done in the views and that a lot of checking will need to occur there? Is that OK? Again - feel free to give me better strategies!! Thanks

  • JUnit confusion: use 'extend Testcase' or '@Test' ?

    - by Rabarberski
    I've found the proper use (or at least the documentation) of JUnit very confusing. This question serves both as a future reference and as a real question. If I've understood correctly, there are two main approaches to create and run a JUnit test: Approach A: create a class that extends TestCase, and start test methods with the word test. When running the class as a JUnit Test (in Eclipse), all methods starting with the word test are automatically run. import junit.framework.TestCase; public class DummyTestA extends TestCase { public void testSum() { int a = 5; int b = 10; int result = a + b; assertEquals(15, result); } } Approach B: create a 'normal' class and prepend a @Test annotation to the method. Note that you do NOT have to start the method with the word test. import org.junit.*; import static org.junit.Assert.*; public class DummyTestB { @Test public void Sum() { int a = 5; int b = 10; int result = a + b; assertEquals(15, result); } } Mixing the two seems not to be a good idea, see e.g. this stackoverflow question: Now, my questions(s): What is the preferred approach, or when would you use one instead of the other? Approach B allows for testing for exceptions by extending the @Test annotation like in @Test(expected = ArithmeticException.class). But how do you test for exceptions when using approach A? When using approach A, you can group a number of test classes in a test suite. TestSuite suite = new TestSuite("All tests");<br/> suite.addTestSuite(DummyTestA.class); suite.addTestSuite(DummyTestAbis.class);` But this can't be used with approach B (since each testclass should subclass TestCase). What is the proper way to group tests for approach B?
