  • iphone UIPicker question

    I have a picker that prompts the user to choose a gender and an age group (17-21, 22-26, etc.) These 2 choices determine which view the user will be brought to after pressing the button, but I am having troubles writing the method for that button. The code I have so far is this: - (IBAction) buttonPressed { NSInteger genderRow = [genderPicker selectedRowInComponent:0]; NSString *genderSelected = [genderPickerData objectAtIndex:genderRow]; NSInteger ageRow = [agePicker selectedRowInComponent:1]; NSString *ageSelected = [agePickerData objectAtIndex:ageRow]; if (genderSelected == "Male" && ageSelected == "17-21") { Calc2ViewController *calc2ViewController = [[Calc2ViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"Calc2View" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:calc2ViewController animated:YES]; [calc2ViewController release]; calc2ViewController = nil; } } When I run the program, and select these 2 groups (Male and 17-21) - nothing happens. What am I missing?

  • SQLite3 database doesn't actually insert data - iPhone

    I'm trying to add a new entry into my database, but it's not working. There are no errors thrown, and the code that is supposed to be executed after the insertion runs, meaning there are no errors with the query. But still, nothing is added to the database. I've tried both prepared statements and the simpler sqlite3_exec and it's the same result. I know my database is being loaded because the info for the tableview (and subsequent tableviews) are loaded from the database. The connection isn't the problem. Also, the log of the sqlite3_last_insert_rowid(db) returns the correct number for the next row. But still, the information is not saved.   • Basic iphone timer example

    Okay, I have searched online and even looked in a couple of books for the answer because I can't understand the apple documentation for the NSTimer. I am trying to implement 2 timers on the same view that each have 3 buttons (START - STOP - RESET). The first timer counts down from 2 minutes and then beeps. The second timer counts up from 00:00 indefinitely. I am assuming that all of the code will be written in the methods behind the 3 different buttons but I am completely lost trying to read the apple documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Display different iphone views depending on logged in status

    I want to display a login view to my users if they are not logged in and the main view if they are. In my header file I define a variable to hold the logged in status #define loggedIn 0 I figure I should then reference this in the initWithNibName method and then decide which nib to load. Is the right way of doing it? If so can someone help me out with the exact code? Thanks for any help

  • Iphone SDK- How to insert a banner in my app

    I have a tableview that my app shows when it loads, I would like to somehow put a banner at the bottom that if connceted to the internet will check my server for any new image files and if there are it will replace the current one and if not it will just leave it. That way I can constantly display messages to my users - sort of like in Doodle Jump. How could I achieve this? Thanks

  • iPhone OpenGL scrolling background jumps when texture is drawn for first time

    I have been fighting a problem for a while now and would appreciate any help anybody could give. I have a sprite that moves within a landscape. The sprite remains in the center of the screen and the background moves to simulate that the sprite is moving within the landscape. I have split the landscape into sections so that I only draw the sections of the landscape that I need (are on screen). The Problem: As a new texture section of the screen appears on the screen (is drawn for the first time) the movement jumps. Almost like a frame is missed. I have done some timing experiments and I do not thinks a frame is missed. My processing is well below the 30fps that I have the animation set to. It only happens the first time the texture section is drawn. Is there something extra that is done the first time a texture is drawn?   • iPhone SDK: Why is my view not lining up?

    When I run my app, for some reason the view is pushed up too far. The space it is pushed up too far appears to be the height of the status bar. ( I am using a NIB. I have verified that both MainWindow and this view has the simulated status bar checked. I'm not sure what could be wrong? Any help appreciated.

  • port an iOS (iPhone) app to mac?

    Is there a preferred way to go about this? The app in question is not too large . . . single-player game that I wrote over the course of a couple of months. EDIT: I should add that I have no experience with mac development . . . outside of what comes naturally with being an iOS developer. EDIT: Classes heavily used in the game: subclasses of NSObject, UIView, and UIViewController. I don't know much about NSView, but I'm pretty sure all the UIView stuff will work in that class. Also some use of UITableViewController. I do also have Game Center, but I can leave that part out for now. There is no multi-touch.

    I am trying to create a custom table cell that conveys these data fields. a.) Name b.) Address1 c.) Address2 d.) Phone In the table cell these fields should appear centered one after another. Another requirement is that each of those fields be a different font and color. For that reason, I was thinking of creating labels and attaching them to the cell but I haven't had much luck getting this working. My question is, can this be done? If so, what is the general approach to follow? Any pointers or links to examples greatly appreciated.

The problem is that when i touch the button from the bar to go to the previous view in the stack, it DOES get animated. How can i change that behaviour?
