    I got some code I need to change. it is build by others, and not very neat... There is a javascript tabcontrol, containing 4 tabs, which contains gridviews.   • app not working

Both programmes seem to work perfectly when i lauched them as two separate pgms , but on keeping them in the same project/package only the speaker programme screen is seen and the receiver pgm doesn't seem to work .   • How to get the value of an item from database and set it as the spinner value

    I have a database and the database populates a listview. when i long press a list item from the listview i get a context menu where i have the option to edit. When the edit option is clicked i open an activity and get all the values of the respective fields from the database. Now, here I want to get a value from the database and show it in the spinner. the spinner already has these values and is getting populated from the database... I have tried the following, but i get an error saying I can't cast a SimpleCursorAdapter to an ArrayAdapter..     Hi. My main intention is to keep the functionality independent form the Javascript, to have it gracefully degradable. Maybe I am trying to go where I want the wrong way but the main idea is: there are some jQuery UI tabs and when the user presses a link, a new tab is added corresponding to that action $("#tabs").tabs('add', "/groups", "My Groups"); the controller identifies the AJAX request and renders only the partial for that tab if request.xhr? render :partial => "index_tab" end at this point I would like the Javascript file associated with the /groups/index action to be executed as well, meaning the index.js.erb file in the groups folder. because of the "only one render" rule I couldn't think of a nice way to do it and I am in need of a fast solution. Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

    Ok I know everyone is going to tell me not to use RegEx for parsing HTML, but I'm programming on Android and don't have ready access to an HTML parser (that I'm aware of). Besides, this is server generated HTML which should be more consistent than user-generated HTML. The regex looks like this: Pattern patternMP3 = Pattern.compile( "<A HREF=\"[^\"]+.+\\.mp3</A>", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE | Pattern.UNICODE_CASE); Matcher matcherMP3 = patternMP3.matcher(HTML); while (matcherMP3.find()) { ... } The input HTML is all on one line, which is causing the problem. When the HTML is on separate lines this pattern works. Any suggestions?

    I defined a scrollview with a texteedit in my layout: <ScrollView android:fillViewport="true" android:layout_marginBottom="50dip" android:id="@+id/start_scroller" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:fadingEdge="none"> <TextView android:id="@+id/text" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </TextView> </ScrollView> I add text to this ScrollView with the following method: public void writeToLogView(String textMsg) { if (text.getText().equals("")) { text.append(textMsg); } else { text.append("\n" + textMsg); scroller.scrollBy(0, 1000000); } } As you can see i append the text and try to scroll to the bottom of the ScrollView. Unfortunately this doesn't worked correctly. It scrolls down, but not always, and not always to the bottom. Any hints?

  • How to handle application upgrades from free to paid version while preserving any data

    Here is the context. I want to have a free version and a premium version of the same application. When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version. I want to use the same code base and just switch a setting to build the premium version. Andoid Market does not let me convert a free app to a paid app, so the trivial option is not available. I am curious if someone has tried this successfully. How does Android Market identify an application - will it think that the premium version is a different app and just install it in parallel?
