  • how to change font color and size within single label component in flex

    i'm trying to create a unordered list in Flex. My issue is that within each line, i want the word NEW to be a different font color and different font size from the rest of the label text. I am unsure of how to do this INLINE within the label component.   • Silverlight ItemsControl - change ItemTemplate

    I have an ItemsControl with a list of radio buttons - in this case the ItemTemplate will contain a binded radio button. The problem is that in some cases I need to replace the radio button with a check box without using any C# code. Is this possible? I thought at using a ValueConverter (C# code) but I don't know for sure if will work.

    I have an xml field (Answers) in Sql Server, but when changing the content via Linq-to-Sql, the record is not flagged for updating. e.g. in Linqpad... var profile = Profiles.FirstOrDefault(p => p.Answers != null); profile.Answers.SetAttributeValue("date", DateTime.Now.ToString()); GetChangeSet().Dump(); // nothing flagged profile.Answers = new XElement(profile.Answers); // ends up with correct xml GetChangeSet().Dump(); // record is flagged as changed Any suggestions apart from assigning a clone of itself to the field or storing the xml as a string to force the update?

    I want to show some panel with a label that is located on a MasterPage from inside it's child pages.. I already did the coding on the MasterPage: public class MyMaster : MasterPage { public void ShowPanel(string pMessage) { labelInside.Text = pMessage; myPanel.visible = true; } } Then I make the calls from child pages: public void ShowPanel(string pMessage) { MyMaster masterPage = this.Master as MyMaster; masterPage.ShowPanel(pMessage); } This "works" ok, but it won't show nothing, since I need the page to be "refreshed" in an "ajax-way" like an UpdatePanel, which I can't use because the Trigger is in another page, right? I really need this to work.. even if you have another completely different way to do this, I would appreciate.

If I use snoop and force the IsChecked to True then the trigger kicks in.

I took a little bit of Java in college, am 27 years old and have been network engineering for 4 years now. I have a mortgage and student loans so going back to school would be difficult. I'm willing to put in however much hardwork is needed around my full time job to learn, but part of me feels I may need actuall schooling to get down some of the advanced concepts. Just looking for a little advice and direction. I have purchased a bunch of the Head First programming books and have begun reading through some of them as I figure out my way into this transition.

    In a spring servlet xml file, I'm using org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean to regularly fire a set of triggers. <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean"> <property name="triggers"> <list> <ref local="AwesomeTrigger" /> <ref local="GreatTrigger" /> <ref local="FantasticTrigger"/> </list> </property> </bean> The issue is that in different environments, I don't want certain triggers firing. Is there a way to include some sort of configuration or variable defined either in my build.properties for the environment or in a spring custom context properties file that assists the bean xml to determine which triggers should be included in the list? That way, for example, AwesomeTrigger would be called in development but not qa.

    I have several configuration files on Windows Server 2008 nested like such: C:\Projects\Project_1\project1.config C:\Projects\Project_2\project2.config In my configuration I need to do a string replace like such: <add key="Environment" value="Dev"/> will become: <add key="Environment" value="Demo"/> I thought about using batch scripting, but there was no good way to do this, and I heard that with PowerShell scripting you can easily perform this. I have found examples of find/replace, but I was hoping for a way that would traverse all folders within my C:\Projects directory and find any files that end with the '.config' extension. When it finds one, I want it to replace my string values. Any good resources to find out how to do this or any PowerShell gurus that can offer some insight?

  • Storing script files outside web root

    I've seen recommendations to store some or all php include files some place other than in the web document root directory (username/public_html in my case) for the specific reason of protecting php files with sensitive information (like database connection and login info) in the event that the web server hiccups and stops protecting php files and they become 'visible' to outsiders who know where to look. It seems somewhat paranoid to me, but I'm guessing people have gotten burned badly on this before so I'm willing to go along. The suggestion usually takes the form of having the include files in something like '../include_files/' so its not directly in the document root and not directly accessible to outsiders through the web server. My question is this: is there a significant difference in security between that way and just putting your 'include_files' directory under the document root and sticking an .htaccess file in there (with the appropriate entries)? Would putting an .htaccess file in '../include_files/' make any significant improvement there? TIA, Monte

    The default appearance of a method for example, ".ToString()" is by default the color black. I want to make it a different color to stand out but I do not see any options that reference this option specifically. I remember one of former collegues showing me his VS IDE years ago and he had it setup this way but I cannot recall what he did. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

    Dear Guys, I have used the following statement to get the GNUPlot plot a grah for me: plot "force.dat" using 1:2 title "Detroit" with lines, \ "force.dat" u 1:3 t "US Avergae" w linepoints and the "force.dat" looks like 2005 0 0 2006 104 51 2007 202 101 It draws nice graph for me. However, I don't like the X-axis, because it is labelled as 2005, 2005.5, 2006, 2006.5, 2007 etc.. However, those are year identifiers, I only want the 2005, 2006, 2007 etc., how could I get rid of the 2005.5, 2006.5 etc. labels in my GNUPlot graph? Thank you very much for your ideas.

  • Force a view change from a button when using UITabBarController

    Hello - When using a UITabBarController, when the user enters some data on View1 and presses a button, I need to perform some calculations and present the results on View2. I have an AppDelegate, View1Controller, View2Controller, and View3Controller (View3 is a basically static view). My AppDelgate declares UITabBarController *rootController; On View1, I have the calculations being performed in an IBAction for buttonPressed; however, I can't seem to force the view to switch to View2 programmatically. I have done a lot of searching for similar problems, and think I should be doing something like "self.rootController.selectedIndex = 1"; however,when I do this from within buttonPressed on my View1Controller, I get an error "request for member rootController in something not in a structure or union". I think I'm missing something basic here... probably need do do something with my AppDelegate, but I'm banging my head against the wall. Can anyone provide some guidance in this situation...like key things I should do in View1Controller header and implementation with reference to my AppDelgate? Thank you!

    Using this data I am fitting a plot: p <- ggplot(dat, aes(x=log(Explan), y=Response)) + geom_point(aes(group=Area, colour=Area))+ geom_abline(slope=-0.062712, intercept=0.165886)+ geom_abline(slope= -0.052300, intercept=-0.038691)+ scale_x_continuous("log(Mass) (g)")+ theme(axis.title.y=element_text(size=rel(1.2),vjust=0.2), axis.title.x=element_text(size=rel(1.2),vjust=0.2), axis.text.x=element_text(size=rel(1.3)), axis.text.y=element_text(size=rel(1.3)), text = element_text(size=13)) + scale_colour_brewer(palette="Set1") The two ablines represent the phylogenetically adjusted relationships for each Area trend. I am wondering, is it possible to get the ablines in the same colour palette as their appropriate area data? The first specified is for Area A, the second for Area B. I used: g <- ggplot_build(p) to find out that the first colour is #E41A1C and the second is #377EB8, however when I try to use aes within the +geom_abline command to specify these colours i.e. p <- ggplot(dat, aes(x=log(Explan), y=Response)) + geom_point(aes(group=Area, colour=Area))+ geom_abline(slope=-0.062712, intercept=0.165886,aes(colour='#E41A1C'))+ geom_abline(slope= -0.052300, intercept=-0.038691,aes(colour=#377EB8))+ scale_x_continuous("log(Mass) (g)")+ theme(axis.title.y=element_text(size=rel(1.2),vjust=0.2), axis.title.x=element_text(size=rel(1.2),vjust=0.2), axis.text.x=element_text(size=rel(1.3)), axis.text.y=element_text(size=rel(1.3)), text = element_text(size=13)) + scale_colour_brewer(palette="Set1") It changes the colour of the points and adds to the legend, which I don't want to do.
