  • coffee scrip layzy function implementation

    - by bbz
    I would like to something like this in JavaScript var init = function () { // do some stuff once var once = true // overwrite the function init = function () { console.log(once) } } CoffeeScript adds another local var init to the initial init so the second init doesn't overwrite the first one var init = function () { var init //automatically declared by coffeescript // do some stuff once var once = true // overwrite the function init = function () { console.log(once) } } Some tips for solutions / workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

  • Tomcat does not pick up the class file - the JSP file is not displayed

    - by blueSky
    I have a Java code which is a controller for a jsp page, called: HomeController.java. Code is as follows: @Controller public class HomeController { protected final transient Log log = LogFactory.getLog(getClass()); @RequestMapping(value = "/mypage") public String home() { System.out.println("HomeController: Passing through..."); return "home"; } } There is nothing especial in the jsp page: home.jsp. If I go to this url: http://localhost:8080/adcopyqueue/mypage I can view mypage and everything works fine. Also in the tomcat Dos page I can see the comment: HomeController: Passing through... As expected. Now under the same directory that I have HomeController.java, I've created another file called: LoginController.java. Following is the code: @Controller public class LoginController { protected final transient Log log = LogFactory.getLog(getClass()); @RequestMapping(value = "/loginpage") public String login() { System.out.println("LoginController: Passing through..."); return "login"; } } And under the same place which I have home.jsp, I've created login.jsp. Also under tomcat folders, LoginController.class exists under the same folder that HomeController.class exists and login.jsp exists under the same folder which home.jsp exists. But when I go to this url: http://localhost:8080/adcopyqueue/loginpage Nothing is displayed! I think tomcat does not pick up LoginController.class b/c on the tomcat Dos window, I do NOT see this comment: LoginController: Passing through... Instead I see following which I do not know what do they mean? [ INFO] [http-8080-1 01:43:45] (AppInfo.java:populateAppInfo:34) got manifest [ INFO] [http-8080-1 01:43:45] (AppInfo.java:populateAppInfo:36) manifest entrie s 8 The structure and the code for HomeController.java and LoginController.java plus the jsp files match. I have no idea why tomcat sees one of the files and not the other? Clean build did not help. Does anybody have any idea? Any help is greatly appraciated.

  • How to check if a number is a power of 2

    - by configurator
    Today I needed a simple algorithm for checking if a number is a power of 2. The algorithm needs to be: Simple Correct for any ulong value. I came up with this simple algorithm: private bool IsPowerOfTwo(ulong number) { if (number == 0) return false; for (ulong power = 1; power > 0; power = power << 1) { // this for loop used shifting for powers of 2, meaning // that the value will become 0 after the last shift // (from binary 1000...0000 to 0000...0000) then, the for // loop will break out if (power == number) return true; if (power > number) return false; } return false; } But then I thought, how about checking if log2x is an exactly round number? But when I checked for 2^63+1, Math.Log returned exactly 63 because of rounding. So I checked if 2 to the power 63 is equal to the original number - and it is, because the calculation is done in doubles and not in exact numbers: private bool IsPowerOfTwo_2(ulong number) { double log = Math.Log(number, 2); double pow = Math.Pow(2, Math.Round(log)); return pow == number; } This returned true for the given wrong value: 9223372036854775809. Does anyone have any suggestion for a better algorithm?

  • Streaming audio not working in Android

    - by user320293
    Hi, I'm sure that this question has been asked before but I've been unable to find a solid answer. I'm trying to load a streaming audio from a server. Its a audio/aac file http://3363.live.streamtheworld.com:80/CHUMFMAACCMP3 The code that I'm using is private void playAudio(String str) { try { final String path = str; if (path == null || path.length() == 0) { Toast.makeText(RadioPlayer.this, "File URL/path is empty", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } else { // If the path has not changed, just start the media player MediaPlayer mp = new MediaPlayer(); mp.setAudioStreamType(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); try{ mp.setDataSource(getDataSource(path)); mp.prepareAsync(); mp.start(); }catch(IOException e){ Log.i("ONCREATE IOEXCEPTION", e.getMessage()); }catch(Exception e){ Log.i("ONCREATE EXCEPTION", e.getMessage()); } } } catch (Exception e) { Log.e("RPLAYER EXCEPTION", "error: " + e.getMessage(), e); } } private String getDataSource(String path) throws IOException { if (!URLUtil.isNetworkUrl(path)) { return path; } else { URL url = new URL(path); URLConnection cn = url.openConnection(); cn.connect(); InputStream stream = cn.getInputStream(); if (stream == null) throw new RuntimeException("stream is null"); File temp = File.createTempFile("mediaplayertmp", ".dat"); temp.deleteOnExit(); String tempPath = temp.getAbsolutePath(); FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(temp); byte buf[] = new byte[128]; do { int numread = stream.read(buf); if (numread <= 0) break; out.write(buf, 0, numread); } while (true); try { stream.close(); } catch (IOException ex) { Log.e("RPLAYER IOEXCEPTION", "error: " + ex.getMessage(), ex); } return tempPath; } } Is this the correct implementation? I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Can someone please please help me on this.

  • Has subversion lost some of my revisions in a branch?

    - by BombDefused
    I've been working on my project using a subversion branch. I've used the branching feature few times before without issue, until today. I've come to merge back into the trunk, and noticed that not everything from my branch was there. I go back to my project folder which I've been committing to the branch and look at the log messages using TortoiseSVN (the command line basic log command shows the same). See the attached image. The revision numbers go up incrementally, until revision 303 (the last trunk revision was 299). Then there are numbers missing. The latest commit, about half an hour ago was 316, but it doesn't show up in the log for the branch. Trying to commit the files again doesn't do anything. I am the only person committing to this repository at present. The missing revisions do not show up in the log for the trunk project. What's going on here. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Update - the revisions do show in the repo browser (Thanks Antonio Perez), but I don't understand why they are not being included with the merge?

  • Logging in to website with saved username and password

    - by DGund
    One of the functions of an app I am making involves logging the user into our Campus Portal website. For ease of use, the user may enter a username and password into the app once, and it will be saved for all future log-ins. When the user clicks a button, the information will automatically be sent to log in, and the website will be displayed in a UIWebView. Let us say that the username and password are each stored in an NSString. How can I use this data to log in to this website programmatically and display the page it in a UIWebView? I know little about posting and forms, so any help is appreciated. Would something like this Stackoverflow answer help? Here's the shell of my code for this - (IBAction)btnGo:(id)sender { username = usernameField.text; password = passwordField.text; if (saveSwitch.isOn) { //Save data if the user wants AppDelegate *appDelegate = (AppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; usernameSaved = username; passwordSaved = password; [appDelegate.listOfPortalCredentials replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:usernameSaved]; [appDelegate.listOfPortalCredentials replaceObjectAtIndex:1 withObject:passwordSaved]; } //Insert username and password to web form, log in to portal //This is where I need help }

  • Greasemonkey failing to GM_setValue()

    - by HonoredMule
    I have a Greasemonkey script that uses a Javascript object to maintain some stored objects. It covers quite a large volume of information, but substantially less than it successfully stored and retrieved prior to encountering my problem. One value refuses to save, and I can not for the life of me determine why. The following problem code: Works for other larger objects being maintained. Is presently handling a smaller total amount of data than previously worked. Is not colliding with any function or other object definitions. Can (optionally) successfully save the problem storage key as "{}" during code startup. this.save = function(table) { var tables = this.tables; if(table) tables = [table]; for(i in tables) { logger.log(this[tables[i]]); logger.log(JSON.stringify(this[tables[i]])); GM_setValue(tables[i] + "_" + this.user, JSON.stringify(this[tables[i]])); logger.log(tables[i] + "_" + this.user + " updated"); logger.log(GM_getValue(tables[i] + "_" + this.user)); } } The problem is consistently reproducible and the logging statments produce the following output in Firebug: Object { 54,10 = Object } // Expansion shows complete contents as expected, but there is one oddity--Firebug highlights the array keys in purple instead of the usual black for anonymous objects. {"54,10":{"x":54,"y":10,"name":"Lucky Pheasant"}} // The correctly parsed string. bookmarks_HonoredMule saved undefined I have tried altering the format of the object keys, to no effect. Further narrowing down the issue is that this particular value is successfully saved as an empty object ("{}") during code initialization, but skipping that also does not help. Reloading the page confirms that saving of the nonempty object truly failed. Any idea what could cause this behavior? I've thoroughly explored the possibility of hitting size constraints, but it doesn't appear that can be the problem--as previously mentioned, I've already reduced storage usage. Other larger objects save still, and the total number of objects, which was not high already, has further been reduced by an amount greater than the quantity of data I'm attempting to store here.

  • Using nested classes for constants?

    - by antirysm
    What's wrong with using nested classes to group constants? Like so: public static class Constants { public static class CategoryA { public const string ValueX = "CatA_X"; public const string ValueY = "CatA_Y"; } public static class CategoryB { public const string ValueX = "CatB_X"; public const string ValueY = "CatB_Y"; } } Used like so: Console.WriteLine(Constants.CategoryA.ValueY); Console.WriteLine(Constants.CategoryB.ValueX); You could also make the "Constants"-class partial...

  • How should I deal with floating numbers that numbers that can get so small that the become zero

    - by Tristan Havelick
    So I just fixed an interesting bug in the following code, but I'm not sure the approach I took it the best: p = 1 probabilities = [ ... ] # a (possibly) long list of numbers between 0 and 1 for wp in probabilities: if (wp > 0): p *= wp # Take the natural log, this crashes when 'probabilites' is long enough that p ends up # being zero try: result = math.log(p) Because the result doesn't need to be exact, I solved this by simply keeping the smallest non-zero value, and using that if p ever becomes 0. p = 1 probabilities = [ ... ] # a long list of numbers between 0 and 1 for wp in probabilities: if (wp > 0): old_p = p p *= wp if p == 0: # we've gotten so small, its just 0, so go back to the smallest # non-zero we had p = old_p break # Take the natural log, this crashes when 'probabilites' is long enough that p ends up # being zero try: result = math.log(p) This works, but it seems a bit kludgy to me. I don't do a ton of this kind of numerical programming, and I'm not sure if this is the kind of fix people use, or if there is something better I can go for.

  • Is String.concat slower than Array approach to join strings

    - by Rajat
    Strings in JavaScript are immutable. Across the web and here on Stack Overflow as well, I came across the Array approach to concatenate strings: var a = []; a.push(arg1,arg,2....); console.log(a.join('')); I know that this approach is better than the simple console.log(arg1 + arg2 +.....); for reasons of skipping creating intermediate objects but how does it fair better against : arg1.concat(arg2,arg3.....);

  • Is it possible to create a throttle function that can take in as parameters another function (that also has parameters), and the time delay

    - by Stan Quinn
    So I've already written a function that works (based on underscores throttle) for functions that don't take in a parameter, but I'd like to make it generic enough to pass in a function with a variable number of parameters. Here's what I have: (function () { var lastTime = new Date().getTime(); function foo() { var newTime = new Date().getTime(); var gap = newTime - lastTime; // Travels up scope chain to use parents lastTime. Function has access to variables declared in the same scope console.log('foo called, gap:' + gap); lastTime = newTime; // Updates lastTime //console.log(x); //x++; } var throttle = function(func, wait) { var result; var timeout = null; // flag updated through closure var previous = 0; // time last run updated through closure return function() { //func, wait, timeout, previous available through scope var now = new Date().getTime(); var remaining = wait - (now - previous); if (remaining <= 0) { clearTimeout(timeout); timeout = null; previous = now; result = func.apply(this, arguments); //func is available through closure } return result; }; }; document.addEventListener("scroll", throttle(foo, 1000)); //document.addEventListener("scroll", throttle(foo(5), 2000)); }()); But I'd like to modify foo to foo(x) and get this to work (function () { var lastTime = new Date().getTime(); function foo(x) { var newTime = new Date().getTime(); var gap = newTime - lastTime; // Travels up scope chain to use parents lastTime. Function has access to variables declared in the same scope console.log('foo called, gap:' + gap); lastTime = newTime; // Updates lastTime console.log(x); x++; } var throttle = function(func, wait) { var result; var timeout = null; // flag updated through closure var previous = 0; // time last run updated through closure return function() { //func, wait, timeout, previous available through scope var now = new Date().getTime(); var remaining = wait - (now - previous); if (remaining <= 0) { clearTimeout(timeout); timeout = null; previous = now; result = func.apply(this, arguments); //func is available through closure } return result; }; }; document.addEventListener("scroll", throttle(foo(5), 2000)); }());

  • Why is my code stopping and not returning an exception?

    - by BeckyLou
    I have some code that starts a couple of threads to let them execute, then uses a while loop to check for the current time passing a set timeout period, or for the correct number of results to have been processed (by checking an int on the class object) (with a Thread.Sleep() to wait between loops) Once the while loop is set to exit, it calls Abort() on the threads and should return data to the function that calls the method. When debugging and stepping through the code, I find there can be exceptions in the code running on the separate threads, and in some cases I handle these appropriately, and at other times I don't want to do anything specific. What I have been seeing is that my code goes into the while loop and the thread sleeps, then nothing is returned from my function, either data or an exception. Code execution just stops completely. Any ideas what could be happening? Code sample: System.Threading.Thread sendThread = new System.Threading.Thread(new System.Threading.ThreadStart(Send)); sendThread.Start(); System.Threading.Thread receiveThread = new System.Threading.Thread(new System.Threading.ThreadStart(Receive)); receiveThread.Start(); // timeout Int32 maxSecondsToProcess = this.searchTotalCount * timeout; DateTime timeoutTime = DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(maxSecondsToProcess); Log("Submit() Timeout time: " + timeoutTime.ToString("yyyyMMdd HHmmss")); // while we're still waiting to receive results & haven't hit the timeout, // keep the threads going while (resultInfos.Count < this.searchTotalCount && DateTime.Now < timeoutTime) { Log("Submit() Waiting..."); System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(10 * 1000); // 1 minute } Log("Submit() Aborting threads"); // <== this log doesn't show up sendThread.Abort(); receiveThread.Abort(); return new List<ResultInfo>(this.resultInfos.Values);

How can i solve this issue? I hope i could explain my problem clear.

  • Javascript: click and dblclick deliver different parentNodes on same html. Why?

    - by user1658206
    currently I work on an very small wysiwyg editor based on jquery. I dont care about IE oder Chrome, just Firefox. My problem is to find if the selection is in a link for to get the value of the href attribute if is set. With click the node of the link is found, with double click always the body. It is in designMode. My event-handler for click and dblclick. The vars current_selection, current_node, iframe and container are global. selection_handler:function() { current_selection = iframe.getSelection(); current_node = current_selection.anchorNode; if(current_node.nodeName == "#text") { current_node = current_node.parentNode; } $('#log').text(current_node.nodeName); }, The log shows mit for example 'body', when I click in unformated text. When I add a link with execCommand('createLink',...) the log shows 'A'. That works. When I mark the linked word with 2 click from start to end, the log shows 'A'. But with double click I always get 'body'. So I can't get the href attribute. The handler is defined in the init: init:function(options) { ... iframe = $('#wysiwyg-'+container.attr('id'))[0].contentWindow; iframe.addEventListener('dblclick',methods.selection_handler,false); iframe.addEventListener('click',methods.selection_handler,false); ... } Has somebody an idea what is wrong?

  • How to convert a DataTable to a string in C#?

Thanks, Mark.
