  I want to make this question a guide for those interested in ZendFramework integration with other libraries/frameworks. Searching over StackOverflow doesn't give a broad view on the subject. The question is: which libraries/frameworks do you use in your current ZF-based project? what are the best practices for ZF-based project architecture? I don't mean any components that are already a part of ZF. Please give a description of aditional frameworks you have integrated (like RuckUsing, Smarty, or Doctrine). It also applies to any GUI frameworks (perhaps you use a CSS framework), as well as JS frameworks (not just jQuery or prototype, but rather some advanced structures). The main requirement: it has to be a ZendFramework project. Additional bonus will be given to answers that describe performance optimization.

  I've found this snippet on Ajaxian, but I can't seem to use the cursor.y (or cursor.x) as a variable and when the function is called as such it does not seem to work.   It is said, javascript clears a variable from memory after its being referenced last. just for the sake of this question i created a JS file with only one variable; //file start //variable defined var a=["Hello"] //refenence to that variable alert(a[0]); // //file end no further reference to that variable, so i expect javascript to clear varaible 'a' Now i just ran this page and then opened firebug and ran this code alert(a[0]); Now this alerts the value of variable, If the statement "Javascript clears a variable after there is no further reference it" is true how come alert() shows its value. Is it because all variable defined in global context become properties of window object, and since even after the execution file window objects exist so does it properties.

  I'm writing a utility that takes in a .resx file and creates a javascript object containing properties for all the name/value pairs in the .resx file. This is all well and good, until one of the values in the .resx is This dealer accepts electronic orders. /r/nClick to order {0} from this dealer. I'm adding the name/value pairs to the js object like this: streamWriter.Write(string.Format("\n{0} : \"{1}\"", kvp.Key, kvp.Value)); When kvp.Value = "This dealer accepts electronic orders./r/nClick to order {0} from this dealer." This causes StreamWriter.Write() to actually place a newline in between 'orders.' and 'Click', which naturally screws up my javascript output. I've tried different things with @ and without using string.Format, but I've had no luck. Any suggestions?

• Flex - How do I get the absolute X and Y coordinate including HTML offset?

  Hey everyone, I am calling a JS function through the ExternalInterface using Flex which requires the absolute X and Y coordinates to create a pop-up menu. The Flex application is displayed on the center of an HTML page, therefore there is an HTML X and Y offset to consider. I have tried using the LocalToGlobal and ContentToGlobal functions, but these are just giving me the X and Y coordinates relative to the Flex application, it is not considering the HTML X and Y offset of having the Flex app in the center of the page or varying different screen resolutions. Is the best approach to retrieve the HTML X and Y offset using JavaScript? Is there a Flex function I can use that provides the absolute X and Y coordinates based on the HTML page? Thanks!

  Hi Is it possible to prevent the _doPostBack() call getting rendered on a button? I would like add some custom logic prior to calling the postback. I have added an onClick event to the button e.g. <button id="manualSubmit" runat="server" class="manual-submit" onclick="$('#jeweller-form').hide();" /> However, this just gets rendered inline before the _doPostBack() But the postback gets fired before the jQueryHide takes place I would like to call my own JS function then manually trigger the postback any ideas?

• Get entire text of document as a string using javascript

  I am developing a firefox extension and ideally would be able to get the whole darn DOM as a string.. forget any data structure. I just want what I see in "view source" in a buffer. I have been checking out javascript references and HTMLDocument etc. with no avail. Ideally I would be able to write to this buffer as well (seems possible i.e. document.writeLn()) I wish there was a document.read()? Am I just a js noob?

I am looking to create a confirm password field using asp.net MVC2 that works on the client. All my other client validation is done with MicrosoftMvcValidation.js by just adding the Html.EnableClientValidation(); call. Some of my considerations. Should the confirm password be part of the model object? Using that approach i have created server side validation by creating my own model binder. Are there any projects out there that have done this?

• Why ????? is displayed instead of non-english characters?

  I first created a simple HTML page that uses UTF-8 as its character encoding. Then I moved the HTML content as a view in codeigniter and it was still ok (I had used non-english characters that were ok as always) I added a simple dynamic functionality (there is a contact us form in it that emails users feedback to site admin). Please note that the characters were ok at localhost (which is a LAMP server running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) Strange is that when I uploaded the app to server, all persian characters are shown as ???? (For example ??? (which means Name) is shown ??? and so so...) I have not even connected to mysql or any other DBMS. It's the only page in the website (it's more an under construction page) and nothing else has been used in it. Maybe I should state that I have also used session library to thank the user after his feedback was sent to admins, nothing else. I have really no idea about the problem. UPDATE Now I can see that the problem is only with cPanel. On Directadmin I can see that everything is normal. Both Chromium and Firefox DO use UTF-8 as page's character encoding. URL is http://WEBSITE.COM/dmf/dynamic/ (dmf is the abbreviation of the project name!). There is nothing non-english in the URL. • Phonegap - iOS keyboard is not hiding on outside tap of input field

  On input text focus, keyboard appears as expected. But when I click outside of the input text, keyboard does not hide. I am using java script and jQuery. With jQueryMobile JS and CSS - page behaves correctly. But for this project we are not using jQueryMobile. This problem is only with iOS simulator/device. With Android, it's working perfectly fine. I even tried using document.activeElement.blur(); on outer element click/tap. But then I am unable to focus to input text, because that input text is inside that outer element.

If not use Ajax, it maybe much easier, just return View, but if use AJAX, what data structure should return?I just use Json to return the data, but i found each JSON data model return to the client browser, the JS have to use different code to parse it, remove the originally table rows, add the new data rows(because the column is different) etc. It make me crazy, is there any better way to do that?   Does anyone know if it is possible with javascript to to tell the position of a mouse click in some text? I know it's easy to get the x,y coordinates, but I'm wanting the position in the text. For example if I clicked inside <p>foo bar</p> I want to be able to tell that the click was on/after the 5th character. Or that foo b is before the click and ar is after it.   Hi. I am trying to use JSON.stringify() (from json2.js of json[dot]org ) to convert a JavaScript array to JSON string and to pass it to an asmx web method. I use jQuery AJAX. The call reaches the web method where I take a List <Object> as parameter but I get an empty list there in debug mode. My JSON string looks like well formed with all data , I even tried having single-quotes and double-quotes(escaped) around the 'names' of the JSON string. Please help.

  I found that a website does somewhat sneaky things. When you hover over a link, it shows you the real URL. WHen you click on it, it uses the click/mousedown event to rewrite the URL. I want to override that behaviour in firefox, So I fired up firebug to see what it does. On a mouse click, it executes a function called window.tgs. Easy, I thought. I can override this function. My first attempt was to do get the element via getELementsByTagName(), and then element.removeEventListener("click",window.tgs, false); To my surprise, this did nothing. I tried redefining window.tgs window.tgs = function() { return true; }; that did not do anything either. I am not a JS expert. Your insights appreciated thanks Sid

  I have a question about XSS Can forms be used as a vector for XSS even if the data is not stored in the database and used at a later point? i.e. in php the code would be this: <form input="text" value="<?= @$_POST['my_field'] ?>" name='my_field'> Showing an alert box (demonstrate that JS can be run) on your own browser is trivial with the code above. But is this exploitable across browsers as well? The only scenario I see is where you trick someone into visiting a certain page, i.e. a combination of CSRF and XSS. "Stored in a database and used at a later point": the scenario I understand about CSS is where you're able to post data to a site that runs JavaScript and is shown on a page in a browser that has greater/different privileges than your own. But, to be clear, this is not wat I'm talking about above.

  i have this controller(visits.php) that use 3 models to build page, then it pass 4 vars to a view. this view contain a form that submit to another page (add_user.php) my question is how can i send the user back to visits.php in case the for_validation is false ? do i have to reload visits.php allover again ?-waste of resourss- or i should just send him back in history with js or php header for example ? can u plz show me an example of how u best handle false result of form_validation ?
