  I just started playing with Django today and so far am finding it rather difficult to do simple things. What I'm struggling with right now is filtering a list of status types. The StatusTypes model is: class StatusTypes(models.Model): status = models.CharField(max_length=50) type = models.IntegerField() def __unicode__(self): return self.status class Meta: db_table = u'status_types' In one admin page I need all the results where type = 0 and in another I'll need all the results where type = 1 so I can't just limit it from within the model. How would I go about doing this?

• Redirecting users on select from autocomplete?

  Hi, i'm trying to implement the jquery autocomplete plugin. I've got it up and running, but something is not working properly. Basically i have a autocomplete-list of employees. The list is generated from a table in a sql-database (employee_names and employee_ID), using a VB.NET handler (.ashx file). The data is formatted as: employee_name-employee_ID. So far so good and all employees are listed in autocomplete. The problem is that i don't know how to redirect a user to a certain page (for example employee_profile.aspx) when they've selected an employee from autocomplete. This is my redirect-code, but it ain't working like it should: $('#fname2').result(function(event, data, formatted) { location.href = "employee_profile.aspx?id=" + data }); For example; a user selects It will redirect a user to employee_profile.aspx?id=name of employee-id of employee (for example: employee_profile.aspx?id=John Doe-91210) instead of employee_profile.aspx?id=91210. I know i can strip the employee_ID with: formatResult: function(data, value) { return value.split("-")[1]; } }); But i do not know how to pass that employee_ID to the redirect-page.. • SOLR phrase query

  I have a slight problem when searching with SOLR 4.0 and attempting a phrase query. I have a field called "idx_text_general_ci" which is a case insensitive (all lowercased) field made up of all fields. When I try and search for a phrase (marine fitter) my SOLR refuses to search for the phrase instead splitting the phrase into 2 words - /select?defType=edismax&q=idx_text_general_ci:marine%20fitter&debugQuery=true debugQuery=true output below: <lst name="debug"> <str name="rawquerystring">idx_text_general_ci:marine fitter</str> <str name="querystring">idx_text_general_ci:marine fitter</str> <str name="parsedquery"> (+(idx_text_general_ci:marine DisjunctionMaxQuery((id:fitter))))/no_coord </str> <str name="parsedquery_toString">+(idx_text_general_ci:marine (id:fitter))</str> As you can see above it splits the query into 2 parts (idx_text_general_ci:marine then id:fitter). THe problem I have is that I have an exact match for "marine fitter" that appears twice in the idx_text_general_ci field yet it's ranked with a lesser score than a document with the word "marine" appearing 3 times. I know this will not be the case if my SOLR was to search the field with the phrase as expected. If I wrap the phrase in quotes I get zero results. Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Alex

  I want to ask bash how it would complete a string as if I had typed it in a shell and hit tab. For example, if I type ls /[TAB][TAB] I see the list of files and dirs in / that could possibly complete the ls command. How do I ask bash how it would complete 'ls /' without typing it and hitting tab? I want something like: query_complete 'partial command line string' I read the man page for complete and compgen, but couldn't figure out how to do it with them. Note: 'ls /' is not the actual command I'm interested in, just an example. I am looking for a general solution for any arbitrary string representing a partial command line.

  I have an Entity Framework 4.0 Entity Object called Revision w/ Nullable DateEffectiveFrom and DateEffectiveTo dates. I was wondering if there was a short-hand way of querying an object's RevisionHistory based on a particular QueryDate date instead of having to use the following query structure: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate)); I've tried creating the following boolean function in the Revision class: partial class Revision { public bool IsEffectiveOn(DateTime date) { return (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date)); } ... } And then updating the query to: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => x.IsEffectiveOn(QueryDate)); but this obviously doesn't translate to SQL. The SQL is from SQL 2000 and uses some system objects to make it work. master.dbo.spt_provider_types master.dbo.syscharsets systypes syscolumns sysobjects I know SQL 2005 does no longer use system tables and I can get the same information from views, but I am looking for a solution that will work for both SQL 2000 and 2005/2008.   Am I correct in thinking that to change the checkmark for "on" to "off", I must change the CellAccessoryType between none and checkmark on the didSelectRowAtIndexPath? Because I have done this but I have noticed the behaviour is not perfectly identical to like the checkmark cells on the auto lock settings on the iphone. Or is there some other way checkmarks are meant to be handled?

  Hi folks, I've done this before but can't remember how for the life of me. I used aspnetreg_sql.exe to create the membership tables in my database. But now i cant seem to be able to point my web app to the correct database. In the provider settings in asp.net management interface i only see a radio button with the label "AspNetSqlProvider" but I can only test it (in which it always fails). I can't modify the connection.   I am trying to query an XML document that uses namespaces. I have had success with xpath without namespaces, but no results with namespaces. This is a basic example of what I was trying. I have condensed it slightly, so there may be small issues in my sample that may detract from my actual problem. Sample XML: <?xml version="1.0"?> <sf:page> <sf:section> <sf:layout> <sf:p>My Content</sf:p> </sf:layout> </sf:section> </sf:page> Sample PHP Code: <?php $path = "index.xml"; $content = file_get_contents($path); $dom = new DOMDocument($content); $xpath = new DOMXPath($dom); $xpath->registerNamespace('sf', "http://developer.apple.com/namespaces/sf"); $p = $xpath->query("//sf:p", $dom); My result is that "p" is a "DOMNodeList Object ( )" and it's length is 0. Any help would be appreciated.

• Select only items in a specific DIV using HtmlAgilityPack

  I'm trying to use the HtmlAgilityPack to pull all of the links from a page that are contained within a div declared as <div class='content'> However, when I use the code below I simply get ALL links on the entire page. This doesn't really make sense to me since I am calling SelectNodes from the sub-node I selected earlier (which when viewed in the debugger only shows the HTML from that specific div). So, it's like it's going back to the very root node every time I call SelectNodes. The code I use is below: HtmlWeb hw = new HtmlWeb(); HtmlDocument doc = hw.Load(@"http://example.com"); HtmlNode node = doc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//div[@class='content']"); foreach(HtmlNode link in node.SelectNodes("//a[@href]")) { Console.WriteLine(link.Value); } Is this the expected behavior? • Select JavaHelp topic in TOC when using setCurrentID

  When I use HelpBroker.setCurrentID("[some help id]"), JavaHelp correctly shows the page I want but the associated topic is not automatically selected/highlighted in the table of contents. This makes it difficult for a user to know where in the topic tree the current page is located. Is there any way to programmatically highlight the current topic in the TOC when I use a HelpBroker to navigate to a specific Help page? Note that when the user follows links within the Java help system, the new topic is properly selected in the table of contents.
