  • Export to word from php doesn't seem to work for me...

    - by chandru_cp
    I exported data from php page to word document but the problem is the header is not available in all pages.... Header is present in the first page but not in the next pages of the word document..... Here is my code, function changeDetails() { $bType = $this->input->post('textvalue'); if($bType == "word") { $this->load->library('table'); $data['countrytoword'] = $this->AddEditmodel1->export(); $this->table->set_heading('Name','Country','State','Town'); $out = $this->table->generate($data['countrytoword']); header("Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-word"); header("Expires: 0"); header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header("Content-disposition: attachment; filename=$cur_date.doc"); echo '<br><br>'; echo '<strong>CountryList</strong><br><br>'; print_r($out); } } <? if(isset($countrytoword)) { ?> <table align="center" border="0"> <tr> <td> Name </td> <td> Country </td> <td> State </td> <td> Town </td> </tr> <? foreach($countrytoword as $dsasffd) { ?> <tr> <td><?= $dsasffd['dbName'] ?></td> <td><?= $dsasffd['dbCountry']; ?></td> <td><?= $dsasffd['dbState']; ?></td> <td><?= $dsasffd['dbTown']; ?></td> <? } } ?> </tr> </table>

  • How does undo/redo basically work on iPhone OS?

    - by mystify
My app doesn't use Core Data yet. Is it true that I must use Core Data for undo/redo? And: How does the user do the undo/redo? I've never seen it in action, and never ever used it. Don't know how I should do it if I wanted to. There's no undo/redo button anywhere. Yet they say it has undo/redo. So how does the user trigger this?

  • Adding a view with a view controller as a subview of another view controller. Doesn't work.

    - by Tom
I'm trying to essentially re-implement the UISplitViewController (because it has its limits), but when I create a UIViewController viewController, and then do an "[viewController.view addSubview contentViewController.view]" on it, to add a view that already has a view controller, that content view doesn't seem to get initialised by its view controller. I guess its view controller is getting detached or deallocated, is this the case?

  • Would this union work if char had stricter alignment requirements than int?

    - by paxdiablo
Recently I came across the following snippet, which is an attempt to ensure all bytes of i (nad no more) are accessible as individual elements of c: union { int i; char c[sizeof(int)]; }; Now this seems a good idea, but I wonder if the standard allows for the case where the alignment requirements for char are more restrictive than that for int. In other words, is it possible to have a four-byte int which is required to be aligned on a four-byte boundary with a one-byte char (it is one byte, by definition, see below) required to be aligned on a sixteen-byte boundary? And would this stuff up the use of the union above? Two things to note. I'm talking specifically about what the standard allows here, not what a sane implementor/architecture would provide. I'm using the term "byte" in the ISO C sense, where it's the width of a char, not necessarily 8 bits.

  • What Android tools and methods work best to find memory/resource leaks?

    - by jottos
I've got an Android app developed, and I'm at the point of a phone app development where everything seems to be working well and you want to declare victory and ship, but you know there just have to be some memory and resource leaks in there; and there's only 16mb of heap on the Android and its apparently surprisingly easy to leak in an Android app. I've been looking around and so far have only been able to dig up info on 'hprof' and 'traceview' and neither gets a lot of favorable reviews. What tools or methods have you come across or developed and care to share maybe in an OS project?

  • How does "Open With" some app in iPhone work?

    - by nybon
As far as I know, from iOS SDK 3.2, file type handling is added and an iOS application can associate itself with some file type so that other applications can open this kind of file with the application. Because of the sandbox mechanism in iOS, I wonder when a file in appA is opened with appB, which registered itself with this kind of file, what will happen? Is this file copied to appB and both appA and appB keep a copy of this file? If the answer is yes, is it possible to make appB open the file under appA's document folder? I cannot find any Apple documentation on this. For example, appA stores a Keynote document in it, if I open this Keynote document with the Keynote app, is it possible to let Keynote app to edit this document in place so that after editing, appA can see the updated document? Any help is appreciated.

  • In ASP.NET MVC, how does response.redirect work?

    - by Swoop
I have used response.redirect in classic ASP and ASP.NET webforms. However, with MVC 2.0, I am running into something peculiar. I have a private method in a controller class that is used by multiple controller methods to help load and validate some information. This private method is setup to redirect if a problem is discovered to a generic error message page. The big problem I am noticing is that the calling controller class and page view attempt to complete rendering and loading before the redirect actually takes place. This is annoying in development because the View throws exceptions that I need to ignore before my generic error page finally loads. As mentioned above, I am used to the older model of response.redirect which prevented subsequent code on a page from being executed as the new page would then load. Any help or advice on redirects in MVC would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why does 'url' not work as a variable here?

    - by kryptobs2000
I originally had the variable cpanel named url and the code would not return anything. Any idea why? It doesn't seem to be used by anything else, but there's gotta be something I'm overlooking. import urllib2 cpanel = 'http://www.tas-tech.com/cpanel' req = urllib2.Request(cpanel) try: handle = urllib2.urlopen(req) except IOError, e: if hasattr(e, 'code'): if e.code != 401: print 'We got another error' print e.code else: print e.headers print e.headers['www-authenticate']

  • What software should i use to work with Ruby?

    - by paranoid_pedlar
I've only ever learned to "program" with notepad when I was learning to create batch files in Windows. I would appreciate if you can explain to me the benefits of working with an IDE over a text editor or vice versa. Please don't give emotional responses or argue someone else's suggestion/advice. I use Linux primarily. Also, I would like to be able to make programs that can be used in Windows, but programmed in Linux. Thanks.

  • jQuery: How can I work with dates in this format? mm/yyyy

    - by Enrique
I'm doing a web application for articles Articles must be shown by month, with its published date stored as mm/yyyy Now: 1- Should I use a DATE type field for storing? 2- Will jQuery UI datePicker be useful for showing mm/yyyy? 3- How could I sort by mm/yyyy? I guess it will be more complicated if I store date normally and extract the day from date each time I want to do something, right? Thanks,

  • Why isn't this infinite recursion? How does default variable initialization work in VB.NET?

    - by froadie
I just made an interesting mistake in my code: Dim endColumn As Integer = startColumn + endColumn - 1 The code was actually supposed to be: Dim endColumn As Integer = startColumn + numColumns - 1 The interesting thing is, I would think that this code should be recursive and loop indefinitely, as the initialization of endColumn sort of calls itself. However, it seems that the code just treats the uninitialized variable as a 0 and so I get startColumn + 0 - 1. What is happening here behind the scenes? When does a variable get assigned a default value?

  • Why use of session name and session id in the get variables does not work?

    - by Roman
I have the following code: $location .= 'red=no&'.session_name() . "=". session_id(); $content = file_get_contents($location); echo $content; If I run it, noting is displayed in my browser. However, if I modify it in the following way: $location .= 'red=no'; $content = file_get_contents($location); echo $content; everything works fine (I see the content in my browser). What is also strange, if I display the value of the $location variable from the first example (url) and manually paste it in the address line of my browser, I do see the content. So, my browser is able to use this URL and file_get_contents not. Does anybody know how it can be explained?

  • Can anyone help me find why this C program work on VS2005 but not on DEV-C++

    - by user333771
    Hello to everybody..and greetings from Greece I have a C program for an exercise and it has a strange issue The program runs just fine on VS 2005 but it crashes on DEV-C++ and the problem that the problem is that the exercise is always evaluated against DEV-C++ The program is about inserting nodes to a BST and this is where the problem lies... Well i would really appreciate some help. enter code here #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <malloc.h> typedef struct tree_node { int value; int weight; struct tree_node *left; struct tree_node *right; } TREE_NODE; /* The Following function creates a Binary Search Treed */ TREE_NODE *create_tree(int list[], int size); TREE_NODE *search_pos_to_insert(TREE_NODE *root, int value, int *left_or_right); /* this is the problematic function */ void inorder(TREE_NODE *root); /* Inorder Traversing */ TREE_NODE *temp; int main() { TREE_NODE *root; /* Pointer to the root of the BST */ int values[] = {10, 5, 3, 4, 1, 9, 6, 7, 8, 2}; /* Values for BST */ int size = 10, tree_weight; root = create_tree(values, 10); printf("\n"); inorder(root); /* Inorder BST*/ system("PAUSE"); } TREE_NODE *search_pos_to_insert(TREE_NODE *root, int value, int *left_or_right) { if(root !=NULL) { temp = root; if(value >root->value) { *left_or_right=1; *search_pos_to_insert(root->right, value, left_or_right); } else { *left_or_right=0; *search_pos_to_insert(root->left, value, left_or_right); } } else return temp;/* THIS IS THE PROBLEM (1) */ } TREE_NODE *create_tree(int list[], int size) { TREE_NODE *new_node_pntr, *insert_point, *root = NULL; int i, left_or_right; /* First Value of the Array is the root of the BST */ new_node_pntr = (TREE_NODE *) malloc(sizeof(TREE_NODE)); new_node_pntr->value = list[0]; /* ¸íèåóå ôçí ðñþôç ôéìÞ ôïõ ðßíáêá. */ new_node_pntr->weight = 0; new_node_pntr->left = NULL; new_node_pntr->right = NULL; root = new_node_pntr; /* Now the rest of the arrat. */ for (i = 1; i < size; i++) { insert_point = search_pos_to_insert(root, list[i], &left_or_right); /* THIS IS THE PROBLEM (2) */ /* insert_point just won't get the return from temp */ new_node_pntr = (TREE_NODE *) malloc(sizeof(TREE_NODE)); new_node_pntr->value = list[i]; new_node_pntr->weight = 0; new_node_pntr->left = NULL; new_node_pntr->right = NULL; if (left_or_right == 0) insert_point->left = new_node_pntr; else insert_point->right = new_node_pntr; } return(root); } void inorder(TREE_NODE *root) { if (root == NULL) return; inorder(root->left); printf("Value: %d, Weight: %d.\n", root->value, root->weight); inorder(root->right); }

  • How does timezone really work in relation to PHP and MYSQL?

    - by Rick
I am getting very strange results in terms of timezones. I am currently using Wordpress and everytime I register a new user, I see the wrong datetime in the database. Ok so I am suspecting it is picking up the server time. So then I then set in php.ini to have date.timezone = "America/Los_Angeles" but again the time is still not correct in the database...And yes I have also set the timezone in Wordpress correctly. So how can this be done?

  • What in-client caching options work well with Cassandra and Java?

    - by sanity
I'm currently architecting a system that must be capable of dealing with tens of thousands of writes per second. I am more-or-less settled on using Apache Cassandra for the persistence layer, and will be using Java for the application layer, but there are situations where I need to quickly access data in a way that picks up any changes within seconds. Hitting Cassandra every single time I need to check this data for changes will be too slow, which means I need to use some kind of application layer caching. To ensure that the cached data remains current, ideally it would support some kind of multicast-based cache invalidation. What are my options?
