• Creating Fedora RPMs with a defined Vendor

  I would like all of my organizations RPMs to have a vendor defined so we can easily see which of our RPMs are installed. Does anyone know why Fedora says: Do not use these tags: Packager Vendor Copyright http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_an_RPM_package They give no reasoning at all. If not using "Vendor" are there recommendations as to another method that is commonly used for this purpose?

• Anyone know a good web-based file upload package?

  Basically, what I'm looking for is a place for either one of our end users to be able to upload a file to this package, after either receiving a code from one of our support engineers or vice-versa(our engineers upload a file and send a code/link/something to end user) I've spent a bunch of time googling this, I found this: http://turin.nss.udel.edu/programming/dropbox2/, but the code there scares me, and it also doesn't render properly using PHP 5.3(uses short tags, who knows what else.)   I am considering creating a Vista install, in VirtualBox, in a minimum configuration. The Microsoft pages seem consistent on the most important points: 1 GB of system memory 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum) In my experience sometimes these recommendations are accurate. (For example, I have a Windows XP in VirtualBox that generally behaves well running in the stated minimum). If anyone has some practical experience (especially the type that could save me hours of pain), please let me know.

• How to handle merge conflicts with Subversion on Mac?

(Kind of a recursive "effective permissions") However, other permissions would be cool as well.   I want to ftp a large file from a Windows client to a Windows server, using their IP addresses. This is on an internet independent network. While the file is transferring, I would like to determine how many bytes have been received by the server. I then would like to use this information to determine in real-time the percentage of the file that has been transferred to the server. • Running Radius on a Novell Backbone

  Hello I am a rookie network engineer and I've been asked to create a secure wireless system intergrated with an existing network. So far I'd decided to use 802.1x secuity with a Radius enabled server over a Novell backbone. My question is: does Novell still support this type of server setup? I heard rumours it is at the end of it's supported life and I'd like some confirmation. Also can I get some recommendations on better backbone / server providers. Cheers
