  Hi Everyone, Say if I have a model called 'deliver' and I am using the default URL route of: # Install the default routes as the lowest priority. map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' So the deliver URL would be: http://localhost:3000/deliver/123 What I am trying to work out, is how to use another field from the database alongside or instead of the ID. For example. If I have a field in the create view called 'deliveraddress', how do I put that into the routes? • Javascript to handle manipulating url anchor for bookmarking

  Hello, I'd like to use the anchor part of the url (after the #) so that my page can have ajax/dhtml but still be able to have bookmarks work properly. I'm wondering is someone can help me get started on writing some javascript code for this. I'm using jQuery, but if the solution's a generic one, that's fine too. For my page, I could have settings like: "a" could be a number from 10-50 "b" is a 0 or 1 "c" is a 0 or 1 etc... I'd like some tips on writing optimized javascript code which could both parse and set something like #a=23&b=0&c=1 Also, I'd like to keep my url as short as possible, so if the default of "a" was 23, in the example above, the a=23 would be omitted. Is there a library that does all this stuff already?

• IIS URL Rewriting for all Inbound URLs?

  Hopefully a simple question although one I have found impossible to answer myself using the Googles! I have a website on IIS with the URL http://www.contoso.com/ which points to C:\www\public\ There has been a forced directory restructure so now all of the data (Default.aspx, Product.aspx, etc.) that originally resided in C:\www\public\ now resides in C:\www\public\en\ie\ - however, the IIS website document root is still C:\www\public\ So, essentially, I have a lot of inbound links to http://www.contoso.com/Product.aspx?id=1 (etc.) which are now returning 404 errors - the correct link is now http://www.contoso.com/en/ie/Product.aspx?id=1 Please consider that I can make no changes to the directory structure or the IIS document root... so must solve this issue using URL rewriting. Is it possible to capture all requests to contoso.com/* and rewrite them to contoso.com/en/ie/* ??

  Hey, I have a program that needs to tell if an online image exists, but the only way that I've gotten this to work is by loading the image in a NSData pointer and checking if the pointer exists. - (BOOL)exists { NSString *filePath = @"http://couleeapps.hostei.com/BottomBox.png"; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:filePath]; NSData *imageData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; if (imageData) { return YES; } return NO; } This has worked for me, but my problem is that I have a very slow connection, and it takes forever to download the image. So my question is: is there a way to check if a image (say "http://couleeapps.hostei.com/BottomBox.png") is available without having to download it? Help is much appreciated HiGuy

• Grails URL's with Tomcat/Apache ProxyPass

  Grails tends to write out the URL for everything that uses its tags as /appName/whatever. For instance, if I use the tag: <g:javascript library="jquery"/> the resulting tag is <script src="/appName/jquery/jquery.js"></script> This causes an issue with using ProxyPass with Apache/Tomcat. All of my CSS, JS, Images and links have that /appName prefixed to them. Is there a way to work around this with ProxyPass or possibly a way for Grails to not prefix the appName to the front of all of my URL's?

  In java I need to read a binary file from a site and write it to a disk file. This example http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/urls/readingURL.html could read webpages succesfully, but when I try to read a binary file from my localhost server and write it to a disk file the contents change, corrupting the binary file. Using fc I see that 0x90 is changed to 0x3F and other changes. How do I acess the binary files (read url and write to file) without java or anything else changing ANY characters, like doing any newline conversions or character conversions or anything else, simply reading input url and writing it out as a file.

  Hello guys, I've searched but was unable to find an existing regex function. Has anybody done this before? I wish to add a port number, or remove a potantially existing one from a url in php. To use in some functions which translate a given url to the secure one, unsecure one, etc. Now I need a second SSL secured site on the server so I need to dynamically add a port number while converting http to https, and remove any port number while converting from https to http.   A problem that I stumbled upon recently, and, even though I solved it, I would like to hear your opinion of what correct/simple/adopted solution would be. I'm developing website using Django + python. When I run it on local machine with "python manage.py runserver", local address is http://127.0.0.1:8000/ by default. However, on production server my app has other url, with path - like "http://server.name/myproj/" I need to generate and use permanent urls. If I'm using {% url view params %}, I'm getting paths that are relative to / , since my urls.py contains this urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^(\d+)?$', 'myproj.myapp.views.index'), (r'^img/(.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT + '/img' }), (r'^css/(.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT + '/css' }), ) So far, I see 2 solutions: modify urls.py, include '/myproj/' in case of production run use request.build_absolute_uri() for creating link in views.py or pass some variable with 'hostname:port/path' in templates Are there prettier ways to deal with this problem?   I'm currently working on a big web application for a company and we are about 4 months in, but we have a harmless(but annoying) problem that we have just left because we didn't time to change it. The way we setup our MVC is leaving us with the Servlet being stacked one after the other endless amounts of times on the URL so if we had a Servlet named "ControllerServlet" and I did something on the website I would get a result such as this the first time. WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServletXXXX And the next time I were to do something everything will work fine, but the URL will stack the ControllerServlet Path like this.. WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/XXXX WebsiteXXXXXXX.com/XXX/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/ControllerServlet/XXXX and so on.... Although it is working perfectly fine, something is obviously not right. I imagine this is an easy fix, but could really use somebodies help. Thanks alot

  Is there a way to append something to the query string with no value set? I would like to see this kind of URL being generated: http://local/things?magic. What I'm looking for is when the user goes to http://local/other?magic then every URL in the generated page would contain magic in the end. Following code is almost a solution but it gives me http://local/things?magic=. There is an extra = that I don't want there. def default_url_options(options) if params.has_key?("magic") { :magic => "" } end end Setting { :magic => nil } will remove the magic entirely from the generated URLs.

I am sending link to my user through mail, now I want to send each user a specific URL. so instead of sending the clear text I want to send link with encrypted string URL, which I will decrypt on my home page. Like instead of www.mysite.aspx\mypage?userId=12 i'll send www.mysite.aspx\mypage?UserId=)@kasd12 and the same i'll decrypt on my page so that I'll get the userId = 12. I am using the Codeigniter framework but I am not sure if the problem lies there. Also using %20 or just a space in the url bar produces no different results. For example: Take the current page: http://www.example.com/pages/ and change it to: https: //admin.example.com/pages/ * then load that new URL. *(I added an extra space after https:// because I'm a new user so can't have more than one link in my question) I tried searching for a bookmarklet that can do this but I couldn't find one.   I found an updated version of John Gruber's regex for url matching in this post by user GianPac, which states it's been adapted to recognize url without protocol or the www part: (?i)\b((?:[a-z][\w-]+:(?:/{1,3}|[a-z0-9%])|www\d{0,3}[.]|[a-z0-9.-]+[.][a-z]{2,4}/?)(?:[^\s()<]+|(([^\s()<]+|(([^\s()<]+)))))(?:(([^\s()<]+|(([^\s()<]+))))|[^\s`!()[]{};:'\".,<?«»“”‘’])) Whilst this works in most cases, I found it does not match "google.com". It does match "google.comm" and "google.co.uk", so this must be a small oversight. The trouble is, I literally hate regex. It's the bane of my life. I just want to try and tweak this one more time to allow for "google.com" - can anyone throw me a pointer? I (think) it's something to do with this part of the code: +[.][a-z]{2,4}/?) ?

  I have a page that I want to redirect to that requires parameters in the URL: http://www.mysite.com/myController/myAction/param1:val1/param2:val2 I know that there is a Cake PHP redirect function for redirecting that works as follows: $this->redirect(array("controller" => "myController", "action" => "myAction", $data_can_be_passed_here), $status, $exit); How do I add the parameters that I want as part of the url using the above function? I would think that there might be another element that I could add to array so that I can pass along "param1:val1" and "param2:val2". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• URL Rewriting for user accounts

  We currently have domain.com/username redirected to domain.com/setsession.asp?u=username which then redirects to the app at domain.com/theapp. This means users always see domain.com/theapp, so browsing to a page shows domain.com/theapp/somepage.asp Looking to move this to subdomains ie username.domain.com (we'll get the host name and work out the user from that). How can this be set up? Should we move the app itself to say theapp.domain.com and then rewrite username.domain.com to theapp.domain.com and everything works? If thats right, how can we do the URL rewrite (mod_rewrite via ISAPI Rewrite for IIS or URL Rewriting for IIS) so that we can still access webmail.domain.com, etc?
