I love Flash because its stable and works. But is using some sort of Javascript hack for this kind of complex behavior actually a good idea?

  • CSS Margin problem

    I'm starting out in HTML and CSS. I have a div element on the page, which doesn't fill the whole page. In it- there's a ul element and some list items in it. I want to put the list 227px from the top of the div element, but I can't manage to accomplish this- it pushes it more. Also- between the list items I want a margin of 40 pixels, but it also does more. What's the problem?     We have a drop-down menu of volumes in our UI, and I'd like to update it when a new disk is mounted. In the Classic days, this would involve watching for a diskEvt event. In Carbon, I think this was kEventClassVolume. What's the Cocoa equivalent? (A pointer into Apple's documentation on this would satisfy the question. I've been unable to find anything!)

  • Web development - relative URLs without duplicating files

    I have a site with index.php in the root folder, images in /img , and overview.php in /content . I have a sidebar.php file that is included in both index.php and overview.php . How should I refer to /img/image.gif if I include a link in each file? The location of image.gif changes relative to the location of the file that references it. Using /img/image.gif in sidebar.php will work in index.php, but it fails for the file located at /content/overview.php. The only solution that I can see is to either include a seperate sidebar.php in each subdirectory, or include an /img directory in every sub-directory. The best suggestion that I can find is to use the <base html tag as suggested here: Change relative link paths for included content in PHP However, in the same link, SamGoody suggests that the <base tag "is no longer properly supported in Internet Explorer, since version 7." I'd like some insight on the matter before committing to a course of action. Thanks.   • popUpButton is setEnabled:YES but doesn't allow click...

    my popUpButton is in a window with a group of popUpButtons. If I try to click the 2nd of 4 vertically aligned buttons then the popdown menu will not appear. If I select the 3rd or 4th then the 2nd will now be selectable. throughout my code the setEnabled on that popUpButton is :YES. ideas on where to look in my controller? This is a Objective C/Cocoa Question.

    I am writing a module for my organization to cache XML feeds to static files to an arbitrary place on our webserver. I am new at Drupal development, and would like to know if I am approaching this the right way. Basically I: Expose a url via the menu hook, where a user can enter in a an output directory on the webserver and press the "dump" button and then have PHP go to drupal and get the feed xml. I don't need help with that functionality, because I actually have a prototype working in Python (outside of Drupal).. Provide a callback for the form where I can do my logic, using the form parameters.     When my app starts, the title bar is hidden. However, if I leave the app and then return (minimize or phone goes to sleep), there is a blank bar inserted at the top. Is this an intentional feature? How can I prevent it? It seems that the bar goes away after I press the menu key. I have managed to get all the theming into files (contemplate etc), but ideally my views settings, menu settings would be in line also... (Not worried about Content either way as we're just building the framework) Any suggestions?
