• Machine restricted login access

  I am working on a project that has a requirement such that login details can only be accessed from one machine at one time. For example, if I grant you access to my website and you login from your home machine, the system will store this settings in a cookie/database. Now if you try the same login details on your work machine or any other machine, the system will not let you log into the system. The login will now only work from home machine. Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be helpful. Any resources you can point me towards would also be appreciated.

• Access Violation Exception only appearing when running C# app without debugger attached

  I have an application that works fine in Visual Studios 2008, and I am trying to get it into VS 2010 in order to use .NET 4, and I have a really weird problem. When I run the code from either Release mode or Debug mode with the debugger attached (F5), I have no problems running the program. However, when I run the program from either Release or Debug without the debugger attached (Shift+F5), I get an Access Violation Exception when I attempt to run some code in a dll from GDCM. I've created the dlls by using CMake and Swig and following the instructions here adjusting the instructions where necessary to build for VS 2010 and .NET 4. Does any one have any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Member variables not initialized. I would love to double-click on the error and go to the source in the Compile Output window. It seems that only gcc errors are detected and these custom ones are ignored even though they have the same format.

• IIS 7.5 can't access file from managed code

  I am working on a project that is click-once deployed from an IIS 7.5 web server. After installing the parent application (i.e. setting up the IIS site) I am able to hit the url for the click-once app's config file from a remote box. HOWEVER, when I attempt to do the same thing from my app (and the stub app below), I get a 401 Unauthorized. What is the difference between hitting the URL from IE, and from a .NET app? The file and directory itself have full control granted to everyone on the webserver at the moment, and I am an admin on the box. We are using Windows Authentication with NTLM only. • firefox: getting access to the list of tabs/windows to restore on startup

  Sometimes ffox fails to restore the previously open tabs/windows. This might be happening when some of the urls to be opened are no longer reachable (e.g. behind a vpn) or after the underlying OS (Windows) has been forcibly restarted (e.g. to complete an automated patch installation). Anyway, after restarting, can this list of urls be recovered somehow? Say for example, I was daft enough to have clicked on "start new session". Can I still get access to the old list of open urls? There is the browser history of course, but it contains a lot of stuff - the urls that were open when ffox last exited are not obvious. It would be neat if they were marked in some way - tagged for example. .robb

Edit: The only way I've found to tell pylint to not warn about these warnings is by blocking all errors of the type (E1101) which is not an acceptable solution, since that is (in my opinion) an extremely useful error. • Access a content control in C# when using Master Pages

  Good day everyone, I am building a page in ASP.NET, and using Master Pages in the process. I have a Content Place Holder name "cphBody" in my Master Page, which will contain the body of each Page for which that Master Page is the Master Page. In the ASP.NET Web page, I have a Content tag (referencing "cphBody") which also contains some controls (buttons, Infragistics controls, etc.), and I want to access these controls in the CodeBehind file. However, I can't do that directly (this.myControl ...), since they are nested in the Content tag. I found a workaround with the FindControl method. ContentPlaceHolder contentPlaceHolder = (ContentPlaceHolder) Master.FindControl("cphBody"); ControlType myControl = (ControlType) contentPlaceHolder.FindControl("ControlName"); That works just fine. However, I am suspecting that it's not a very good design. Do you guys know a more elegant way to do so? Thank you! Guillaume Gervais.

  I'm trying to make a program which creates a spaceship and I'm using the status() method to display the ship's name and fuel values. However, it doesn't seem to be working. I think I may have messed something up with the status() method. I'm also trying to make it so that I can change the fuel values, but I don't want to create a new method to do so.   Hi, Its been a couple of weeks that some sites just keeps on hanging. e.g. Facebooks = static.ak.fbcdn.net FLicker = l.yimg.com GoogleAnalytics I've googled and found many problems like this and some answers which are outdated or just doesn't solve the problem. I did: Cookies clearing, ran cc cleaner and several other nifty methods. None solved my problem?? Only with facebook, if I enter https:// manually instead of http:// on every url on facebook, it works and when it does the redirection to http://, everytime I have to type 's' on the address bar to make it https:// It is driving me nuts coz I'm developing Facebook App and this problem in being pain in my ass. What might be the reason for these CDNs hanging behaviour?? • My framework will utilise other frameworks, but I'd like this to be transparent to the end-user

  I'm building a framework, which aims to provide a new development environment for the user, but I need to use things like RegexKit and almost certainly some other established frameworks in order to do this. Any functionality exposed from such frameworks would be abstracted through classes and methods in my own framework for maintenance reasons (allowing me to change my mind on which dependencies I want). In an ideal world I just want to ship a single .framework. However I'm aware that unlike with standard bundles and applications it is not possibile to embed a framework inside the framework bundle. Do I have any other option other than to tell the end user that they must also install RegexKit and any other dependencies? I have a feeling this lessens the appeal value of the easy to use embedded framework I'd envisaged building. Right now I'm feeling like I have some limited options: Force the user to install the dependencies. Write my own classes that provide the same functionality -- ugh! If at all possible, try to statically link the third party frameworks (is this possible??) My end-product is ideally a single .framework bundle that uses @rpath and so can be installed in the system or simply bundled with the app that uses it.

  I'm unsure what the proper way is to access parts of the requested URL. In this case, I want to get the requested path without the query variables. This is the only way I found to do it: String path = getRequest().getResourceRef().getHostIdentifier() + getRequest().getResourceRef().getPath(); The result would be the bold part of this url: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask?query=value I also found about 6 different ways to get the server name (http://stackoverflow.com) but I'm worried that some of them would fail in certain cases that I am unaware of (why would there be 6 different ways to do one thing): getRequest().getHostRef().getHostIdentifier(); getRequest().getHostRef().getIdentifier(); getRequest().getRootRef().getHostIdentifier(); getRequest().getRootRef().getIdentifier(); getRequest().getResourceRef().getHostIdentifier(); And this seems to get the complete URL with query parameters: getRequest().getResourceRef().getIdentifier(); Any further explanation would be much appreciated.

• i cant ping to my DMZ zone from the local inside PC

  HI everybody. Can anyone please help me on the following issue. I got a Cisco Asa 5520 configured at my network. I cant ping to my DMZ interface from a local inside network PC. so the only way a ping the DMZ is right from the Cisco ASA firewall, there i can pint to all 3 interfaces, Inside, Outside and DMZ,,,, But no PC from the Inside Network can access the DMZ. Can please any one help?   Is there a way in which I can programmatically access the document properties of a Word 2007 document? I am open to using any language for this, but ideally it might be via a PowerShell script. My overall aim is to traverse the documents somewhere on a filesystem, parse some document properties from these documents, and then collate all of these properties back together into a new Word document. (I essentially want to automatically create a document which is a list of all documents beneath a certain folder of the filesystem; and this list would contain such things as the Title, Abstract and Author document properties; the CreateDate field; etc. for each document)

  Hi, Is it possible to overload the array/dict access operators in VB.net? For example, you can state something like: Dim mydict As New Hashtable() mydict.add("Cool guy", "Overloading is dangerous!") mydict("Cool guy") = "Overloading is cool!" And that works just fine. But what I would like to do is be able to say: mydict("Cool guy") = "3" and then have 3 automagically converted to the Integer 3. I mean, sure I can have a private member mydict.coolguy and have setCoolguy() and getCoolguy() methods, but I would prefer to be able to write it the former way if at all possible. Thanks
