How do I build mDNSResponder?

I have tried checking out the mDNSResponder source from Apple's SVN host, with the thought of compiling it and tweaking it. This failed miserably. Here is the last line of the output of cd trunk SRCROOT=. make I get the same error for several tags in the SVN tree, so I'm not sure if there is something on my end wrong? Check if 'onload' would have fired already?

Hello, I have a situation where I'd like to set an onload handler for a script element, but it is possible that the script element has already loaded before I do so. If it's already loaded, I'd like to detect that and run my handler immediately. What would be a reliable way of checking a script element's onload state after the fact? BTW I know that IE uses readyState instead of an onload event so I don't need help for that.

Perl: Edit hyperlinks in nested tags that aren't on seperate lines

I have an interesting problem. I wrote the following perl script to recursively loop through a directory and in all html files for img/script/a tags do the following: Convert the entire url to lowercase Replace spaces and %20 with underscores The script works great except when an image tag in wrapped with an anchor tag. Is there a way to modify the current script to also be able to manipulate the links for nested tags that are not on separate lines? Python: Best way to check for Python version in program that uses new language features?

If I have a python script that requires at least a particular version of python, what is the correct way to fail gracefully when an earlier version of python is used to launch the script? How do I get control early enough to issue an error message and exit? For example, I have a program that uses the ternery operator (new in 2.5) and "with" blocks (new in 2.6). I wrote a simple little interpreter-version checker routine which is the first thing the script would call ... except it doesn't get that far. Instead, the script fails during python compilation, before my routines are even called. Thus the user of the script sees some very obscure synax error tracebacks - which pretty much require an expert to deduce that it is simply the case of running the wrong version of python. update I know how to check the version of python. The issue is that some syntax is illegal in older versions of python. Spring - MVC - Sanitize URL before redisplaying to the user

In my application , a HTTP GET request URL to the application with script tag is getting redisplayed as it is although it fails the authorization. Example: http://www.example.com/welcome<script>alert("hi")</script> The issue is sanitizing external input entered directly into address bar by modifying existing GET URL. Spring redisplays the submitted URL as it is. NO FBML is working in iframe in facebook using PHP (ie or ff or anywhere else!)

I have tried for three days now and gotten nowhere on this.... I absolutely can not get any "fb:" code to render anything! I've tried the exact code in the sandbox and it works fine. I've read through every search result I could find and gotten nowhere... So running it on raw input for the first line would produce: Hi! How are you? <script>//NOT EVIL!</script> Now I need to escape all the input, but at the same time I need to preserve emoticons in their initial state. So when there is <:-P emoticon, it stays like that and does not become <:-P. I was thinking of running a regex split on the emotified text. Then processing each part on its own and then concatenating the string together, but I am not sure how easily can Regex be bypassed? I know the format will always be this: [<img class="smiley" alt="] [empty string] [" title="] [one of the values from a big list] [, ] [another value from the list (may be matching original emoticon)] [" src="ui/emoticons/] [integer from Y to X] [.gif">] Using the list MAY be slow, since I need to run that regex on text that may have 20-30-40 emoticons. Plus there may be 5-10-15 text messages to process. What could be an elegant solution to this? I am ready to use third-party library or jQuery for this. PHP preprocessing is possible as well.

how to kill (or avoid) zombie processes with subprocess module

When I kick off a python script from within another python script using the subprocess module, a zombie process is created when the subprocess "completes". I am unable to kill this subprocess unless I kill my parent python process. Is there a way to kill the subprocess without killing the parent? I know I can do this by using wait(), but I need to run my script with no_wait().

Can't print elements in a DIV tag

I am using a Drag-able and re-sizeable DIV's in this HTML file. Where the user will place the DIV tag to his desired place in a main parent DIV tag. Now I want to print this main DIV tag, but the problem is that the code which I'm using to PRINT this main DIV is printing in a sequence, like not the way user has arranged the DIV's. Also it doesn't take up the main DIV background IMAGE. here is the code. Using Javascript in Google Web Optimizer Page Sections

Is it possible to use Javascript in the content of a page section variation? I want different variations to make different Javascript function calls, so I have variation content like: Variation 1 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('abc');</script> Variation 2 <script type="text/javascript">my_func('def');</script> However, when I preview my page, I can't verify that my_func(content){ alert(content); } is actually being run. Does GWO not support JS content, or am I missing something?

JavaScript: How to get text from all descendents of an element, disregarding scripts?

My current project involves gathering text content from an element and all of its descendents, based on a provided selector. For example, when supplied the selector #content and run against this HTML: <div id="content"> <p>This is some text.</p> <script type="text/javascript"> var test = true; </script> <p>This is some more text.</p> </div> my script would return (after a little whitespace cleanup): This is some text. var test = true; This is some more text. However, I need to disregard text nodes that occur within <script> elements. This is an excerpt of my current code: // get text content of all matching elements for (x = 0; x < selectors.length; x++) { matches = Sizzle(selectors[x], document); for (y = 0; y < matches.length; y++) { match = matches[y]; if (match.innerText) { // IE content += match.innerText + ' '; } else if (match.textContent) { // other browsers content += match.textContent + ' '; } } } It's a bit overly simplistic in that it just returns all text nodes within the element (and its descendants) that matches the provided selector. The solution I'm looking for would return all text nodes except for those that fall within script elements. It doesn't need to be especially high-performance, but I do need it to ultimately be cross-browser compatible. I'm assuming that I'll need to somehow loop through all children of the element that matches the selector and accumulate all text nodes other than ones within <script> elements; it doesn't look like there's any way to identify JavaScript once it's already rolled into the string accumulated from all of the text nodes. I can't use jQuery (for performance/bandwidth reasons), although you may have noticed that I do use its Sizzle selector engine, so jQuery's selector logic is available. Safe way to set computed environment variables

I have a bash script that I am modifying to accept key=value pairs from stdin. (It is spawned by xinetd.) How can I safely convert those key=value pairs into environment variables for subprocesses? I plan to only allow keys that begin with a predefined prefix "CMK_", to avoid IFS or any other "dangerous" variable getting set. But the simplistic approach function import () { local IFS="=" while read key val; do case "$key" in CMK_*) eval "$key=$val";; esac done } is horribly insecure because $val could contain all sorts of nasty stuff. This seems like it would work: shopt -s extglob function import () { NORMAL_IFS="$IFS" local IFS="=" while read key val; do case "$key" in CMK_*([a-zA-Z_]) ) IFS="$NORMAL_IFS" eval $key='$val' IFS="=" ;; esac done } but (1) it uses the funky extglob thing that I've never used before, and (2) it's complicated enough that I can't be comfortable that it's secure. My goal, to be specific, is to allow key=value settings to pass through the bash script into the environment of called processes. It is up to the subprocesses to deal with potentially hostile values getting set. I am modifying someone else's script, so I don't want to just convert it to Perl and be done with it. I would also rather not change it around to invoke the subprocesses differently, something like #!/bin/sh ...start of script... perl -nle '($k,$v)=split(/=/,$_,2); $ENV{$k}=$v if $k =~ /^CMK_/; END { exec("subprocess") }' ...end of script...

write html content from javascript

There's one thing I want to do with javascript, but don't know how. In a perfect world it would look like this: <p>My very cool page!</p> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write('<div>some content</div>'); </script> And this script would insert <div>some content</div> right before (or after, or instead of) script tag. But in the real world, document.write starts writing html anew, removing any static content in the page (<p> tag, in this case). This is simplified example, but should give you the idea. I know that I can statically put <div id="some_id"></div> before script tag and insert html in it from js, but I wanna be able to use multiple instances of this snippet without changing it (generating random id manually) each time. I'm ok to use jquery or any other existing library as well. Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks!

I have a script myscript.inc.php which handles all urls that look like /script-blah I accomplish this by using following .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^script-(.*)$ myscript.inc.php?s=$1 [QSA,L] However users could also access it this way by typing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah I would like to prevent that. I tried <Files ~ "\.inc\.php$"> Order deny,allow Deny from all </Files> and RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.inc\.php RewriteRule .* - [F,L,NS] They both prevent users from viewing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah but they also cause /script-blah to return 403... Is there a way to do this correctly?

xsl with javascript

I've a file with xml data. And I want to generate a report out of it. I tried to integrate xsl with java script, but can I get a handle of individual data elements in xsl and pass it on to a java script function. Lets say <value>true</value> is in the xml and I want to pass it on to a javascript function while doing something like this in xsl. <xsl:for-each select="/valgroup"> <xsl:value-of select="value"/> </xsl:for-each> The alternative is to parse the xml in java script and get the values, I've got little idea of how to integrate it with xsl. Are there any java script libraries. I've seen my libraries that run on servers(AJAXSLT), but I need something that runs locally. I'm a new to xslt, so consider this a worthy question.

Sql Server copying table information between databases

Hi, I have a script that I am using to copy data from a table in one database to a table in another database on the same Sql Server instance. The script works great when I am connected to the Sql Server instance as myself as I have dbo access to both databases. The problem is that this won't be the case on the client's Sql Server. They have seperate logins for each database (Sql Authentication Logins). Does anyone know if there is a way to run a script under these circumstances. Custom installation directories

Let's say I am writing installation script for the program which contains executable file and shared library. By default, this script places executable to /usr/local/bin, and shared library to /usr/local/lib. In this case my program may be executed by any user by typing its name in the command line. Suppose that user selects custom installation directory, like ~/myprogram/. Is it user's responsibility to ensure that my program may be executed, or my installation script must do this?

I have opened a new window with JavaScript: var newwin = window.open('','preview','width=600,height=500'); Now I want to write some JavaScript to the window: newwin.document.write("<script type='text/javascript'>alert('Hi!');<" + "/script>"); newwin.document.close(); However, the script never gets executed. Am I doing something wrong?

Any Ideas?
