    A few days after submitting my sitemap to Google, I received this warning: When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL. The example URL Google gave me is http://iketqua.net/?_escaped_fragment_=CIDTKT/mien-trung/xo-so-kon-tum I checked all possible things that I could think of, but still can't figure out what the warning is about!   • Removing mdadm array and converting to regular disks while preserving data

    I have a 6 disk (2TB each) mdadm RAID 5 volume created in Ubuntu 12.04 Server. However, I'm moving to a different solution and want to "unraid" my disks but keep the data. Only 50% is in use. From what I can surmise I basically have to do this recursively for each physical disk. Fail the disk Format the failed disk Move a portion of files to the new disk. Reshape the array Shrink the logical volume md0 This seems like a very time consuming process. Is there an easier way to do this (automatically perhaps) without buying new disks to temporarily hold the data? I am also aware that during this processing my RAID volume will be degraded and vulnerable the entire time. I am not too concerned about this and will be using battery backup and moving the most important files off first. Thank you for your help!

  • How to retrieve data from a corrupted volume

    Hi, My Ubuntu 10.10 just crashed, probably due to hardware error (and in the end I was getting errors like Unknown filesystem ..... grub> .., and it went to the GRUB console before I could take any other action). I reinstalled the same version from a USB stick. I had Ubuntu installed with the ext4 file system and I also have the same filesystem in the same hard disk on a different drive. When I try to access my previous filesystem, I get errors: Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so I had some important files in the previous volume ; I don't know how to retrieve them. And what are the chances that I would get the same outcome (hardware error)? Please help me!

    My understanding of a primitive datatype is that It is a datatype provided by a language implicitly (Others are user defined classes) So different languages have different sets of datatypes which are considered primitive for that particular language. Is that right? And what is the difference between a "basic datatype" and "built-in datatype". Wikipedia says a primitive datatype is either of the two. PS - Why is "string" type considered as a primitive type in SNOBOL4 and not in Java ?

  • Hosting media on separate server than web server

    Basically I have a website hosted by a web hosting company which I have limited access to (ftp upload etc). I have a home server which I use to record and store audio files. Is there an elegant way or best practice to host a page on the webserver which links to the audio files? I'm considering hosting a page on the home server and redirecting to that from the web server, or setting up something like rsync to push the audio files to the web server - I'm just not certain which solution would be best.

I'm trying to segment my incoming traffic by page-type such that I can find out what percentage of traffic is going to zip code pages exclusively and what percentage is going to city/state level pages. I basically want to filter by URL structure to find out what percentage of total traffic zip code pages account for. The reason for doing this is to find out if Google Tag Manager can help with this?   • Does the Instant Preview in Google webmaster tools takes Robot.txt in account?

    Is that the way to go If I want to visually see what the googlebot see? I'm trying to check a folder which I have just blocked in my robots.txt. If I fetch the folder as google bot, It fetches ok, so that doesn't tell me nothing about whether the block is working I know there's a tool to check for blocking, but it is dependent on the input of the robots.txt Therefore I've tried the Instant preview, and I don't get a preview for what the bot sees ("pre-render), so I think that means that it's because the robots.txt blocks it; however - I don't see the bot tried beforehand to access my updated robots.txt, so I'm not sure how does it know that this folder is blocked? (it does preview another new folder, that is not blocked)

I would kindly ask students/beginners to refrain from jumping and answering quickly and without thinking. At the beginning of my career I thought that stupidest thing you can do is disregard the referential integrity. Today, after "few" projects I'm thinking different. Quite different.   • Using replacement to get possible outcomes to then search through HUGE amount of data

    I have a database table holding 40 million records (table A). Each record has a string a user can search for. I also have a table with a list of character replacements (table B) i.e. i = Y, I = 1 etc. I need to be able to take the string a user is searching for, iterate through each letter and create an array of every possible outcome (the users string, then each outcome with alternative letters used). I need to check for alternatives on both lower and uppercase letters in the word A search string can be no longer than 10 characters long. I'm using PHP and a MySQL database. Does anyone have any thoughts / articles / guidance on doing this in an efficient way?
