  • C++ Draw things on riched32.dll

    - by genesys
Hi! I'm using riched32.dll to display and edit rich text. now I would like to draw some custom markings to the text, like for example the red underline in office word displaying wrong spelling. or text marking boxes with rounded corners or something like this. Of course those markings should scroll properly with the text. How can I do that? Thanks!

  • Castle ActiveRecord Table name conflict

    - by Shane
When you run into a reserved word like "User" in NHibernate you would just put single quotes around the offending text and nHibernate will surround the text with square brackets for querying. My question is how do you do the same thing using Castle.ActiveRecord?

  • Call private method in Flex, Actionscript.

    - by core07
I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

  • Why do I need to call new?

    - by cam
It seems like I could program something without ever using the word 'new', and I would never have to worry about deleting anything either. From what I understand, it's because I would run out of stack memory. Is this correct? I guess my main question is, when should I call 'new'?

  • mysql composite unique on FK's

    - by m2o
I want to implement the following constraints in mysql: create table TypeMapping( ... constraint unique(server_id,type_id), constraint foreign key(server_id) references Server(id), constraint foreign key(type_id) references Type(id) ); This throws a 'ERROR 1062 (23000): Duplicate entry '3-4' for key 'server_id'' when I issue an insert/update that would break the constraint. Is this type of constraint even possible? If so how? Thank you.

  • How do I get the next token in a Cstring if I want to use it as an int? (c++)

    - by Van
My objective is to take directions from a user and eventually a text file to move a robot. The catch is that I must use Cstrings(such as char word[];) rather than the std::string and tokenize them for use. the code looks like this: void Navigator::manualDrive() { char uinput[1]; char delim[] = " "; char *token; cout << "Enter your directions below: \n"; cin.ignore(); cin.getline (uinput, 256); token=strtok(uinput, delim); if(token == "forward") { int inches; inches=token+1; travel(inches); } } I've never used Cstrings I've never tokenized anything before, and I don't know how to write this. Our T.A.'s expect us to google and find all the answers because they are aware we've never been taught these methods. Everyone in my lab is having much more trouble than usual. I don't know the code to write but I know what I want my program to do. I want it to execute like this: 1) Ask for directions. 2) cin.getline the users input 3) tokenize the inputed string 4) if the first word token == "forward" move to the next token and find out how many inches to move forward then move forward 5) else if the first token == "turn" move to the next token. if the next token == "left" move to the next token and find out how many degrees to turn left I will have to do this for forward x, backward x, turn left x, turn right x, and stop(where x is in inches or degrees). I already wrote functions that tell the robot how to move forward an inch and turn in degrees. I just need to know how to convert the inputted strings to all lowercase letters and move from token to token and convert or extract the numbers from the string to use them as integers. If all is not clear you can read my lab write up at this link: http://www.cs.utk.edu/~cs102/robot_labs/Lab9.html If anything is unclear please let me know, and I will clarify as best I can.

  • VB6's private static in C# ?

    - by blez
In VB6 there are local static variables that keep their values after the exit of procedure. It's like using public vars but on local block. For example: sub count() static x as integer x = x + 1 end sub After 10 calls, x will be 10. I tried to search the same thing in .NET (and even Java) but there was none. Why? Does it break the OOP model in some way, and is there a way to emulate that.
