  • Javascript not able to read data generated by ajax script

    - by user1371033
    I have a situation in which my Jquery Ajax script generates HTML table. And another script is meant to filter the table column by providing a dropdown comprising of unique values in that particular column. If i have static content in html page the filter script works fine. But is not able to read table content when it is generated via Ajax that is during runtime. Any idea what could be the reason. I also tried to align script in order. My Ajax script is here:- $(document).ready(function() { $("#getResults").click(function(){ bug = $("#bug").val(); priority = $("#priority").val(); component = $("#component").val(); fixVersion = $("#fixVersion").val(); dateType = $("#dateType").val(); fromDate = $("#dp2").val(); toDate = $("#dp3").val(); $("#query").empty(); $("tbody").empty(); $.post("getRefineSearchResultsPath", {bug:bug,priority:priority,component:component, fixVersion:fixVersion,dateType:dateType,fromDate:fromDate,toDate:toDate }, function(data) { // setting value for csv report button //clear the value attribute for button first $("#query_csv").removeAttr("value"); //setting new value to "value" attribute of the csv button $("#query_csv").attr("value", function(){ return $(data).find("query").text(); }); $("#query").append("<p class='text-success'>Query<legend></legend><small>" +$(data).find("query").text() +"</small></p>"); var count = 1; $(data).find("issue").each(function(){ var $issue = $(this); var value = "<tr>"; value += "<td>" +count +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('issueKey').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('type').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td><div id='list' class='summary'>" +$issue.find('summary').text() +"</div></td>"; value += "<td><div id='list' class='mousescroll'>" +$issue.find('description').text() +"</div></td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('priority').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('component').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('status').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('fixVersion').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('resolution').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('created').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('updated').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('os').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('frequency').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>"; var number_of_attachement = $issue.find('attachment').size(); if(number_of_attachement > 0){ value += "<div id='list' class='attachment'>"; value += "<ul class='unstyled'>"; $issue.find('attachment').each(function(){ var $attachment = $(this); value += "<li>"; value += "<a href='#' onclick='document.f1.attachmentName.value='" +$attachment.find('attachmentName').text(); value += "';document.f1.issueKey.value='"+$attachment.find('attachmentissueKey').text(); value += "';document.f1.digest.value='"+$attachment.find('attachmentdigest').text(); value += "';document.f1.submit();'>"+$attachment.find('attachmentName').text(); value += "</a>"; value += "</li>"; value += "<br>"; }); value +="</ul>"; value +="</div>"; } value += "</td>"; value += "</tr>"; $("tbody").append(value); count++; }); }); }); }); And my script to filter table is here, I got this script from this link http://www.javascripttoolbox.com/lib/table/ My JSP page is here:- <html> <body> <table class="table table-bordered table-condensed table-hover example sort01 table-autosort:0 table-autofilter table-autopage:10 table-page-number:t1page table-page-count:t1pages table-filtered-rowcount:t1filtercount table-rowcount:t1allcount"> <thead > <tr> <th class="table-sortable:numeric" Style="width:3%;">No.</th> <th class="table-sortable:default" Style="width:5.5%;">Issue Key <br> </th> <th>Type</th> <th Style="text-align: center;">Summary</th> <th Style="text-align: center;">Description</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" id ="priorityColumn" Style="width:5%">Priority</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" >Component</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" Style="width:5%">Status</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default">Fix Version</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" Style="width:6%">Resolution</th> <th>Created</th> <th>Updated</th> <th>OS</th> <th>Frequency</th> <th>Attachments</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> </tbody> <tfoot> <tr> <td class="table-page:previous" style="cursor:pointer;"><img src="table/icons/previous.gif" alt="Previous"><small>Prev</small></td> <td colspan="13" style="text-align:center;">Page <span id="t1page"></span>&nbsp;of <span id="t1pages"></span></td> <td class="table-page:next" style="cursor:pointer;">Next <img src="table/icons/next.gif" alt="Previous"></td> </tr> <tr Style="background-color: #dddddd"> <td colspan="15"><span id="t1filtercount"></span>&nbsp;of <span id="t1allcount"></span>&nbsp;rows match filter(s)</td> </tr> <tr class="text-success"> <td colspan="15">Total Results : ${count}</td> </tr> </tfoot> </table> </body> </html>

  • Twisted Python getPage

    - by David Dixon II
    I tried to get support on this but I am TOTALLY confused. Here's my code: from twisted.internet import reactor from twisted.web.client import getPage from twisted.web.error import Error from twisted.internet.defer import DeferredList from sys import argv class GrabPage: def __init__(self, page): self.page = page def start(self, *args): if args == (): # We apparently don't need authentication for this d1 = getPage(self.page) else: if len(args) == 2: # We have our login information d1 = getPage(self.page, headers={"Authorization": " ".join(args)}) else: raise Exception('Missing parameters') d1.addCallback(self.pageCallback) dl = DeferredList([d1]) d1.addErrback(self.errorHandler) dl.addCallback(self.listCallback) def errorHandler(self,result): # Bad thingy! pass def pageCallback(self, result): return result def listCallback(self, result): print result a = GrabPage('http://www.google.com') data = a.start() # Not the HTML I wish to get the HTML out which is given to pageCallback when start() is called. This has been a pita for me. Ty! And sorry for my sucky coding.

  • IE6 + IE7 CSS problem with overflow: hidden; - position: relative; combo.

    - by googletorp
    So I have created a slider for a homepage, that slides some images with a title and teaser text using jQuery. Everything works fine, and I went to check IE and found that IE 6 and 7 kills my slider css completely. I can't figure out why, but for some reason I can't hide the non active slides with overflow: hidden; I've tried tweaking the css back and forth, but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem. I've recreated the problem in a more isolated html page. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="da" lang="da" dir="ltr"> <head> <style> body { width: 900px; } .column-1 { width: 500px; float: left; } .column-2 { width: 200px; float: left; } .column-3 { width: 200px; float: left; } ul { width: 2000px; left: -499px; position: relative; } li { list-style: none; display: block; float: left; } .item-list { overflow: hidden; width: 499px; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="column-1"> <div class="item-list clearfix"> <ul> <li class="first"> <div class="node-slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 1</h4> <p>Teaser 1</p> </div> </div> </li> <li> <div class="slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 2</h4> <p>Teaser 2</p> </div> </div> </li> <li class="last"> <div class="slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 3</h4> <p>Teaser 3</p> </div> </div> </li> </ul> </div> </div> <div class="column-2"> ... </div> <div class="column-3"> ... </div> </body> </html> I've tracked down that it is the ul { position: relative; } on the ul element that is causing the overflow: hidden not to work, but why that is, I don't know. Also this is needed to make the slider javascript work using the left attribute on the ul to slide it. Any ideas as to how you can fix this is most welcome.

  • JQuery text display problem?

    - by SLAPme
    Kind of new to JQuery and I was wondering how can I state that the users submitted info was saved when they click the submit button by displaying the message Changes saved at the top of the form and then have it disappear when the user leaves the web page and return back to it? Right now my code only displays that changes were saved at the bottom of the form outside of the lists and will not disappear when the users leave the web page and return back to it. Here is the JQuery code. $(function() { $(".save-button").click(function() { $.post($("#contact-form").attr("action"), $("#contact-form").serialize(), function(html) { $("div.contact-info-form").html(html); $('#contact-form').append('<li>Changes saved!</li>'); }); return false; // prevent normal submit }); }); Here is the html code. <div id="contact-info-form" class="form-content"> <h2>Contact Information</h2> <form method="post" action="index.php" id="contact-form"> <fieldset> <ul> <li><label for="address">Address 1: </label><input type="text" name="address" id="address" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address'])) { echo $_POST['address']; } else if(!empty($address)) { echo $address; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="address_two">Address 2: </label><input type="text" name="address_two" id="address_two" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address_two'])) { echo $_POST['address_two']; } else if(!empty($address_two)) { echo $address_two; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="city_town">City/Town: </label><input type="text" name="city_town" id="city_town" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['city_town'])) { echo $_POST['city_town']; } else if(!empty($city_town)) { echo $city_town; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="state_province">State/Province: </label> <?php echo '<select name="state_province" id="state_province">' .   • How to fix this window.open memory leak?

    - by DotnetShadow
    Hi there, I was recently looking at this memory leak tool sIEve: http://home.orange.nl/jsrosman/ So I decided to test out the tool by creating a main page that will open up a popup window. I started by creating 3 pages: index.html, page1.html and page2.html, the index.html page will open a child window (popup) linking to page1.html. Page1 will have a anchor tag that links to page2.html, while page2 will have a link back to page1.html PROBLEM So in the tool I entered the index.html page, popup window opened to page1.html, I then clicked the page2 link, no leaks detected yet. While I'm on page2 I click the link back to page1, and that's where the tool claims there is a link. The leak seems to be happening on the index.html page and I have no idea as to why it would be doing that. Even more concerning is that I can see elements that the tool detects that aren't even on my page. Does anyone have any experience with this tool or know if this really is a memory leak? Any samples of showing how to achieve what I'm doing without memory leaks? INDEX.HTML <script type="text/javascript"> MYLEAK = function() { var childWindow = null; function showWindow() { childWindow = window.open("page1.html", "myWindow"); return false; } return { init: function() { $("#window-link").bind("click", showWindow); } } }(); </script> </head> <body> <a id="window-link" href="#" on>Open Window</a> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { MYLEAK.init(); }); </script> </body> </html> PAGE1.HTML <html> <body> <h1>Page 1</h1> <a href="page2.html">Page2</a> </body> </html> PAGE2.HTML <html> <body> <h1>Page 2</h1> <a href="page1.html">Page1</a> </body> </html> Appreciate your efforts.

    - by marco92w
    I've downloaded the following template: http://www.styleshout.com/templates/preview/Refresh11/index.html But unfortunately, it has rounded corners and shades. I want it to have square corners and the shades should be removed, too. It should look like this: But I'm not good enough at (X)HTML and CSS so I didn't manage to achieve this. Could you please help me? How could I remove the rounded corners? Please don't say "Take another template" ;) It's also for learning purposes :)

  • Add inner-marging to a 4 columns CSS

    - by Martín Marconcini
    I am not a CSS expert (mainly because I haven’t had the need to use much HTML/CSS stuff lately), so I came up with the following style/divs to create a 4 column layout: <style type="text/css"> <!-- .columns:after { content: "."; display: block; height: 0; clear: both; visibility: hidden; } * html .columns {height: 1%;} .columns{ display:inline-block; } .columns{ display:block; } .columns .column{ float:left; overflow:hidden; display:inline; } .columns .last{ float:right; } .col4 .first{ left: auto;width:25%; } .col4 .second{ left: auto;width:25%; } .col4 .third{ left: auto;width:25%; } .col4 .last{ left: auto;width:25%; } --> </style> note: most of this stuff comes from this google result, I just adapted it to 4 columns. The HTML then looks like this: <div class="columns col4"> <div class="column first”> SOME TEXT </div><!-- /.first -—> <div class="column second”> MORE TEXT</div><!—- /.second -—> <div class="column third”> SOME MORE TEXT </div><!—- /.third --> <div class="column last”> SOME LAST TEXT </div><!-- /.last -—> </div><!-- /.columns --> Ok, I’ve simplified that a bit (there’s a small image and some < h2 text in there too) but the thing is that I’d like to add some space between the columns. Here’s how it looks now: Do you have any idea what CSS property should I touch? note: If I add margin or padding, one column shifts down because (as I understand it) it doesn’t fit. There might be other CSSs as well, since this came in a template (I have been asked for this change, but I didn’t do any of this, as usual). Thanks for any insight.

  • How do i make my text wrap in a <div> with a large border radius

    - by Greg Guida
    in the following code <html> <body> <div style="height:400px; width:400px; -moz-border-radius:100px; -webkit-border-radius:100px; border:3px solid #500; background-color:#a00; overflow:hidden;"> Why is this getting cut at the beginning??? </div> </body> </html> Why isn't the browser wrapping the text around the rounded corners. In webkit browsers(i tested both chrome and safari) the overflow hidden cuts the text outside the border. Firefox just renders text outside the border. I also tried this without overflow:hidden; but again the text just rendered outside the border.

  • Form data sent to Node via Post is undefined

    - by user185812
    I know this has been asked countless times on here, however I tried all the solutions and am still having the issue. Most people say to set the content-type (which I did) and to name the inputs that I wish to Post to node. I have done both of these things, yet still get "undefined" when trying to send data from an HTML form to node. JADE Templating HTML Code (Sorry I can't seem to get the indenting to show up here, however I think I should leave the code intact when posting here instead of converting it to normal HTML so that if the error is in here, you are still able to help) Form(action="/registration", method="post", enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded") div(class="control-group-Username") label(class="control-group", for="username") Username: div.controls input#Username(id="Username", type="text", placeholder="Username Here", maxlength="23", name="username") //Other divs and stuff here button.btn#submit_button(type="submit") Submit app.js code /** * Module dependencies. */ express = require('express') , routes = require('./routes') , user = require('./routes/user') , http = require('http') , path = require('path'); app = express(); // all environments app.set('port', process.env.PORT || 3000); app.set('views', __dirname + '/views'); app.set('view engine','jade'); app.use(express.favicon()); app.use(express.logger('dev')); app.use(express.bodyParser()); app.use(express.methodOverride()); app.use(express.cookieParser('your secret here')); app.use(express.session()); app.use(app.router); app.use(require('less-middleware')({ src: __dirname + '/public' })); app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, 'public'))); // development only if ('development' == app.get('env')) { app.use(express.errorHandler()); } app.use(express.static(__dirname + '/public')); app.get('/', routes.index); app.get('/users', user.list); app.get('/register', routes.register); http.createServer(app).listen(app.get('port'), function(){ console.log('Express server listening on port ' + app.get('port')); }); require('./Register.js'); register.js code app.post('/registration', function(req, res) { var Email=req.body.username console.log(username); });

  • How do I format an email for Gmail?

    - by Ethan
    Hey, I'm sending out an email using codeigniter's built in library. All I'm trying to do is send a bolded string, but instead of rendering the tags, it is printing them. What I have: <html> <head> </head> <body> <b>Donkey</b> </body> </html> That is, character for character, the email I'm getting. Why aren't the tags rendering? Thanks for your help!

  • Annoying Blank pop-up window go away

    - by No Soup for YOU
    Hi All, Sorry about the wording for my question title. I have a basic HTML anchor tag that when clicked it is suppose to bring up a dialog box to download a file from a differnt website. I am using an attribute of target="_blank" so that when my hyperlink is clicked, I don't navigate away from my main window. This is all the easy part (if it was so easy I wouldnt be here though). When I do the above though, and click on the hyperlink, an annoying blank window pops up with my download dialog box behind it. How do I get rid of that annoying blank window and keep only my download dialog box on the screen? Below is the HTML I'm working with... <a href="http://www.fake-domain-name.com/downloads/setup.msi" target="_blank"> <img src="images/download.png" alt="download file"/> </a>

  • Displaying a DHTML layer over a Silverlight UI...

    - by Kevin Grossnicklaus
    I have a MOSS 2007 publishing site which incorporates some Silverlight components on various pages. Beyond a few areas the rest of the site is SharePoint and ASPX (i.e. standard HTML/javascript). I'm looking at incorporating a dynamic/dropdown menu to the main navigation. Unfortunately on a few of the pages the menu sits close to a Silverlight area and, when a menu is pulled down it falls "behind" the Silverlight block. Is there something simple I'm not doing or is there a limitation that Silverlight always be on top of dynamic content displayed via the rest of the HTML DOM? Any ideas? -Kevin

  • Need to read a file, search for some data and output the data using PHP

    - by Kyle
    Hello...I am new to PHP (never really used it before tonight) and I need to use a PHP script to read the contents of a file on my website (http://kylemills.net/Geocaching/BadgeGen/MacroFiles/BadgeGenBeta.gsk) and then take some specific varying data and output it. For example: If my file contains the text: random text Here is some text #There is some text here too $Version = "V2.2.23 Beta" random text #some more text $Text="some text" If the above was the contents of my file, I need the script to return "V2.2.23 Beta" (without quotes). The idea is that as I update the file, the version changes and I want this to be reflected across my site. I am sorry if I don't make any sense...any help would be appreciated :) -Thanks so much, Kyle

  • Any way to do slanted/diagonal mouseovers via css/javascript?

    - by cksubs
    Hi, I have a box built via html borders. I want to connect the bottom left corner to the top right corner with a diagonal line. Either with html/css or by using a background image, doesn't matter. I'll figure that part out later. ------ - /- - / - - / - -/---- Here's the tricky part: I want a different thing to happen depending on which side of the line the mouse is hovering over. I'll do something like make some text visible or change the background color. Is that possible in web programing? I've thought of doing a "Riemann sum" type calculation with a bunch of invisible divs. Any easier way? Thanks!

  • Div that should take up the "rest of the page" expands beyond the page in ie.

    - by Clox
    Okay, this is REALLY starting to bug me... This page works fine in both Chrome and Firefox. www.bloggan.tk But if it's opened in internet-explorer it always expands beyond the page and introduces the scrollbar no matter what the resolution of the browser is. I have NO idea what change in the html it was that cause this... Here's the blogger-template-html-source I'd REALLY appreciate if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance! Edit: I've "solved" it for IE using javascript, but that's only temporary (i hope). The version without javascript can be seen here, so that you still will be able to know what I'm talking about. Still trying to solve it, and still hoping for someone to help me.

  • iframe accessing parent DOM?

    - by Yuval A
    How is it possible for a script within an <iframe> to have any notion of the page containing it? Can a script in the frame access any context outside of it? What about cross-domain? Up until now I believed an <iframe> is completely agnostic to the containing page, but I have seen an example which contradicts this belief. What exactly can and can't be done from within an <iframe> with respect to the containing page?

  • Is there a Java API for creating a XHTML document?

    - by Bedwyr Humphreys
    I want to provide a simple XHTML representation of each of the resources in a REST web service. At the moment i'm using a StringBuilder to generate these which is both tedious and error prone. I don't see these changing after I publish the service but the process of coding each is a bit painful. Is there a XHTML document writer api? Should I just use an XML writer? Which one? Should I just roll my own basic HTML document class - doctype is the same each time, i just need to set the title, metatags and body content, most of which (but not all content) is already in HTML for the GETs. Or should I just use StringBuilder and stop whining? ;) Thanks.

  • Dynamically create numbered divs in Javascript + Jquery show/hide

    - by Vafello
    I would like to create numbered divs (such as eventbox1, eventbox2, etc.) in a loop and then have an option to show and hide them. for (i=0; i<8; i++) { var html = '<div id="eventbox"></div>'; content.innerHTML += html; } I have also the following code in Jquery UI: function ShowHide(){ $("#eventbox").animate({"height": "toggle"}, { duration: 1000 }); } <a onclick="ShowHide(); return false;" href="" id="dialog_link">Show/Hide</a> I was wondering how to enable show/hide option of each div in turn.

  • In Rails, how should I implement a Status field for a Tasks app - integer or enum?

    - by Doug
    For a Rails 3.0 Todo app, I have a Tasks model with a Status field. What's the best way to store the Status field data (field type) and still display a human-readable version in a view (HTML table)? Status can be: 0 = Normal 1 = Active 2 = Completed Right now I have this: Rails Schema Here: create_table "tasks", :force = true do |t| t.integer "status", :limit = 1, :default = 0, :null = false Rails Model Here: class Task < ActiveRecord::Base validates_inclusion_of :status, :in => 0..2, :message => "{{value}} must be 0, 1, or 2" Rails View Here: <h1>Listing tasks</h1> <table> <tr> <th>Status</th> <th>Name</th> <th></th> <th></th> <th></th> </tr> <% @tasks.each do |task| %> <tr> <td><%= task.status %></td> <td><%= task.name %></td> <td><%= link_to 'Show', task %></td> <td><%= link_to 'Edit', edit_task_path(task) %></td> <td><%= link_to 'Delete', task, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :method => :delete %></td> </tr> <% end %> </table> Requirements Store a Task's status in the db such that the values are easily localizable, i.e. I'm not sure I want to store "normal", "active", "completed" as a string field. Solution must work with Rails 3.0. Questions: Should I store the field as an integer (see above)? If so, how do I display the correct human readable status in an HTML table in my Rails view, e.g. show "Active" instead of "1" in the HTML table. Should I use an enum? If so, is this easy to localize later? Should I use straight strings, e.g. "Normal", "Active", "Completed" Can you provide a quick code sample of the view helper, controller or view code to make this work?
