• Undefined control sequence

  Hi, I am making my Master's Thesis with LaTeX, but I can't get the provided style to work. Specifically, I get the error 'Undefined control sequence' when using the function makeformaltitlepages, which is defined in mscthesis.sty. On the internet, the only answer I could find is the straightforward 'you probably made a typo', or 'you probably forgot to include the package', but I have reason to believe neither of those apply to me. I am quite sure that the function exists, for when I add a little verification, using the @ifundefined command, the logfile shows that the function actually does exist. And, as can be seen in the following piece of code, I also include the package: \usepackage{mscthesis} % setup information like author, company, title, etc. \begin{document} \formatmatter \thispagestyle{empty} \maketitle \makeatletter \@ifundefined{makeformaltitlepages}{\message{Function is not defined.}}{\message{Function is defined.}} \makeatother \makeformaltitlepages{\input{abstract}} % add chapters, sections, etc. and end the document Now, the output shows the line "Function is defined." just before the output of maketitle (which I think is rather strange on its own, but that might be a flushing issue), followed by the following infinitely repeated error (well, cut off after 100 times by LaTeX): Function is defined. // some gibberish about font info ! While the error keeps repeating, the line that starts with '#4' cycles between the following four lines: #4 \errhelp \@err@ ... \let \@err@ ... \@empty \def \MessageBreak... \endgroup Ok, so, do any of you have a suggestion of how I might continue to hunt this bug? Or what blatantly obvious mistake did I make?

• Silverlight WCF serialization DataContract(IsReference=true) problem

  Hi, I'm have a Silverlight 3 UI that access WCF services which in turn access respositories that use NHibernate. To overcome some NHibernate lazy loading issues with WCF I'm using my own DataContract surrogate as described here: http://timvasil.com/blog14/post/2008/02/WCF-serialization-with-NHibernate.aspx. In here I'm setting preserveObjectReferences = true My model contains cycles (i.e. Customer with IList[Order]) When I retrieve an object from my service it works fine, however when I try and send that same object back to the wcf service I get the error: System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException was unhandled by user code Message=There was an error while trying to serialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:searchCriteria. The InnerException message was 'Object graph ...' contains cycles and cannot be serialized if references are not tracked. Consider using the DataContractAttribute with the IsReference property set to true.' So cyclical references are now a problem in Silverlight, so I try change my DataContract to be [DataContract(IsReference=true)] but now when I try to retrieve an object from my service I get the following exception: System.ExecutionEngineException was unhandled Message=Exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' was thrown. InnerException: Any ideas?

• How to use Tor control protocol in C#?

  I'm trying to send commands to the Tor control port programmatically to make it refresh the chain. I haven't been able to find any examples in C#, and my solution's not working. The request times out. • Windows 7 - Enable Network DTC Access

  I have a Visual Studio 2010 Windows Forms application in which I start a transaction using the TransactionScope class. I then Receive a message from a Sql Server Broker Services message queue, which works fine. I next try to call a stored procedure from the same database with a call to my data access layer which is a Visual Studio dataset (xsd file). When I make this second call to the database I get the following error message: The MSDTC transaction manager was unable to pull the transaction from the source transaction manager due to communication problems. Possible causes are: a firewall is present and it doesn't have an exception for the MSDTC process, the two machines cannot find each other by their NetBIOS names, or the support for network transactions is not enabled for one of the two transaction managers. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004D02B). I've seen several posts on the web that talk about Enabling DTC access through dcomcnfg.exe, and allowing DTC to communicate through Windows Firewall. I've done those things, and am still having this problem. I know our remote database server is setup to Enable DTC access, because we are using similar transactions in other projects built with Visual Studio 2008 on Windows XP and Vista. I think there is something specific about Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010 causing this problem, but haven't been able to find out what it is. Can anyone help with this problem?

• Spring MVC jQuery remote validation

  Hi, I am using Spring MVC on the server side, but in one of the pages I decided to create an AJAX validation with jQuery rather than the default Spring validation. Everything works great, except when I have to do a remote validation to check if a "title" already exists. Another thing that is not working is the customized message for the "remote" validation: messages: { title: { required: "A title is required.", remote: "This title already exists." } }, The required message works, but not the remote message. I looked around, but I didn't see many people using Spring and jQuery at the same time. I would appreciate some help here.

  I have a wsf service and a client application. While trying to communicate the client and the service I've gotten the following message: "The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:blob. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type FileBlob. The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxArrayLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 1, position 25931.'. Please see InnerException for more details." I have the customBinding element and it doesn't allow me to insert "readerQuotas" section.   Hello, When I include a 'disabled' attribute on an a4j:commandButton, the button's action is not performed. Taking the 'disabled' attribute out causes it to work properly. I am not doing any special validation (that I'm aware of) and am not seeing any validation error messages.   Hi, I've created an assembly to share it between my main app and the silverlight app. At the beginning it looked like it was going to work but now I get this exception: "System.IO.FileNotFoundException was caught, Message="Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml.Linq". I'm using .NET 3.5 Sp1 and Silverlight 3. That shared assembly uses System.Xml.Linq, and it cannot find it... I think because it is trying to find that version in the .NET framework instead looking in the silverlight one. How can I fix this? Cheers.   I'm using the curvycorners jQuery plugin (http://www.curvycorners.net/instructions/) to force IE to render rounded corners on divs. It works really well, apart from one thing: I have a validation error-message that pops up inside the div, using jQuery's "show" method. Curvycorners adds an extra div that is absolute positioned and has a set height, this means that you have to redraw the rounded corners if you want the containing div to resize when the error-message is shown.   I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it? Discarding the data is a start, but I need to discard up to a point I can start processing messages again. The corrupt message may be lost, but I need to be able to recover from it. I've got the following idea in mind: Put a fixed header at the start of each message, eg. 0xABCDEF01. When recovering, lookup this header and restart handling incoming messages. = Break off readFortune() on a timeout and recover = When encountering an inconsistent header, recover A huge blocksize is still going to be a problem. To fix that, I should be constantly checking whether or not I'm reading gibberish, but this is not always possible. I can also limit the blocksize on certain message-types. Any ideas on this? Any proposals on what to use as byteword?

• JQuery Ajax error handling, show custom exception messages

  Hey Folks, I am wondering if there is some way where I can show custom exception messages as an alert in my Jquery ajax error message. I've deployed the webpage and the WCF webservice to that machine.
