  • IE6 and fieldset background color?

    Hey, I'm having some difficulty with CSS and IE6 compatibility. URL: http://bit.ly/dlX7cS Problem #1: I put a background image on the fieldset around Canada and United States. In IE6 and IE7, the background bleeds above the border-top of the fieldset. So, I found a fix. It is applied only to IE browsers, and moves the legend up a few pixels, aligning the background correctly. <!-- Fix: IE6/IE7, Legends --> <!--[if lte IE 7]> <style type="text/css"> fieldset { position: relative; } fieldset legend { position: absolute; top: -0.5em; left: 0; } </style> <![endif]--> This fixes IE7. But in IE6, it seems to make my legend for Canada vanish completely. Does anyone have a copy of IE6 they can open my site and tell me if you see Canada label. (I am testing with a multi-IE program, and it keeps crashing. My copy might not be accurate). If it's not there, any suggestions on how to fix it? Also, any suggestion on where I can download working copy of IE6? Problem #2: I have a Google Map embedded using iframe. The width of that iframe is 515px. In Firefox, Chrome, IE7 -- that is the correct alignment. But in IE6, it gets <br/> underneath the Just Energy paragraph beside it. It doesn't fit. I have to change width to 513px for it to fit. Uhm, anyone know where those 2px of difference happen?   • SimpleJdbcCall ignoring JdbcTemplate fetch size

    We are calling the pl/sql stored procedure through Spring SimpleJdbcCall, the fetchsize set on the JdbcTemplate is being ignored by SimpleJdbcCall. The rowmapper resultset fetch size is set to 10 even though we have set the jdbctemplate fetchsize to 200. Any idea why this happens and how to fix it? Have printed the fetchsize of resultset in the rowmapper in the below code snippet - Once it is 200 and other time it is 10 even though I use the same JdbcTemplate on both occassion.   • [JavaScript-CSS-Firefox] Cannot change borderColor of TD

    Using JS to set the background color of a TD is fine. But, setting the border color is problematic in FF 3.0.18 although IE 6 doesn't experience this. FF is problematic in that it requires the TD element to have an attribute style initialized to border-style: solid. Without that, setting border color of a TD won't work. Is this known bug? How do I set the border color without having to set style attribute as well as the initialization value? I know another trick of setting the class attribute instead of setting the border color directly. Is this an indication that somehow TD hates having its border color set dynamically? Is this known as well? I'm trying to make alternating rows in JSF2 h:dataTable (no richfaces or such) but i get an unexpected result. the table is built but it has a white grid shown (but i didn't specifiy any border) and there's no buttom line under each row.   • Handling file renames in git

    I'd read that when renaming files in git, you should commit any changes, perform your rename and then stage your renamed file. Git will recognise the file from the contents, rather than seeing it as a new untracked file, and keep the change history. However, doing just this tonight I ended up reverting to git mv. > $ git status # On branch master # Changes to be committed: # (use "git reset HEAD <file>..." to unstage) # # modified: index.html # Rename my stylesheet in Finder from iphone.css to mobile.css > $ git status # On branch master # Changes to be committed: # (use "git reset HEAD <file>..." to unstage) # # modified: index.html # # Changed but not updated: # (use "git add/rm <file>..." to update what will be committed) # (use "git checkout -- <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) # # deleted: css/iphone.css # # Untracked files: # (use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed) # # css/mobile.css So git now thinks I've deleted one CSS file, and added a new one.   • Rotate webpage via code?

    I'm hoping that there's a relatively simple way to rotate a webpage a little bit, 30 degrees or so, while still leaving it fully functional and usable. I completely control the page, and can modify it to make this easier if needed. I'd rather not re-write the whole thing in SVG, though, but perhaps javascript and canvas will work? Is there a way using CSS, Javascript, or some other cross browser method that would allow me to accomplish this?
