  • Excel Prorated SUMIF

    I have a worksheet with 2 columns, one is a dollar amount, and the other is a day of the month (1 through 31) that the dollar amount is due by (the dollars are income streams). So, I use the following formula to SUM all the income streams due on or before a certain day: =SUMIF(C5:C14, "<="&$B$42,B5:B14) Column C is the due day B42 is the cell in which I input the day to compare to like "15" for "total of all income due on or before the 15th" - the idea is to have a sum of all income received for the period. Column B is the dollar amount for each income stream. My question is: Some of the income streams don't have a day next to them (the day cell in column C is blank). That means that that income stream doesn't come in as a check or a chunk on a certain date, it trickles in roughly evenly through out the month. So if the amount for the income stream is $10,000 and the day is 15 in a 30 day month, then I should add $5,000 to the total. That would be something like: =SUMIF(C5:C14, "",???) So where the due date is blank, select ???. ??? isn't just the number, it's the number*(given_day/total_days_in_month). So I think what I need for an accurate total is: =SUMIF(C5:C14, "<="&$B$42,B5:B14) + SUMIF(C5:C14, "",???) But I'm not sure how to write that exactly.

  • Windows7 IIS7: zips don't have php5isapi.dll Can I use php.dll instead?

    The page: How to Install PHP 5.2 on IIS 7and Windows Vista (and a few others) reference a mysterious php5isapi.dll which is not in the Windows install, or the zip files: php-5.3.2-Win32-VC9-x86.zip - VC9 x86 Thread Safe php-5.3.2-nts-Win32-VC9-x86.zip - VC9 x86 Non Thread Safe There was another post on stackoverflow that said it's obsolete and replaced by "fastapi" but no instructions mention this. I did find a php.dll in the zip file. Can I use that instead of php5isapi.dll? It's very frustrating trying to install basic PHP5 on Windows with MySQL.

  • Lucene.Net support phrases?: What is best approach to tokenize comma-delimited data (atomically) in

    I have a database with a column I wish to index that has comma-delimited names, e.g., User.FullNameList = "Helen Ready, Phil Collins, Brad Paisley" I prefer to tokenize each name atomically (name as a whole searchable entity). What is the best approach for this? Did I miss a simple option to set the tokenize delimiter? Do I have to subclass or write my own class that to roll my own tokenizer? Something else? ;) Or does Lucene.net not support phrases? Or is it smart enough to handle this use case automatically? I'm sure I'm not the first person to have to do this. Googling produced no noticeable solutions.

  • nHibernate strategies in a web farm

    Our current project at work is a new MVC web site that will use a WCF service primarily to access a 3rd party billing system via a web service as well as a small SQL database for user personalization. The WCF service uses nHibernate for the SQL database. We'd like to implement some sort of web farm for load balancing as well as failover and maintenance. I'm trying to decide the best way to handle nHibernate's caching and database concurrency if there are multiple WCF services running. Some scenarios I've been thinking about... 1) Multiple IIS servers, one WCF server. With this setup, the WCF server would be a single point of failure, but there would be no issues with nHibernate caching or database concurrency. 2) Multiple IIS servers, each with it's own WCF service. This removes a single point of failure, but now nHibernate on one machine would not know about database changes done by another machine. Some solutions to number 2 would be to use an IStatelessSession so we're not doing any caching and nHibernate is always fetching directly from the database. This might be the most feasible as our personalization database has very few objects in it. I'm also considering a 2nd-level cache such as memcached or Velocity, but it may be overkill for this system. I'm putting this out there to see if anyone has experience doing this sort of architecture and to get some ideas for a solution. Thanks!

This is found in jquery.autocomplete.js and it reads the same in firefox and doesn't cause the error, so i don't really want to change this if at all possible. any advice would help thanks!

  • JavaScript: 'textarea.value' not working in IE?

    Hi! A few hours ago, I was instructed how to style a specific textarea with JS. The following piece of code (thanks again, Mario Menger) works like a charm in Firefox but unfortunately nothing happens in Internet Explorer (7 tested only so far). var foo = document.getElementById('HCB_textarea'); var defaultText = 'Your message here'; foo.value = defaultText; foo.style.color = '#888'; foo.onfocus = function(){ foo.style.color = '#000'; if ( foo.value == defaultText ) { foo.value = ''; } }; foo.onblur = function(){ foo.style.color = '#888'; if ( foo.value == '' ) { foo.value = defaultText; } }; I've already tried to replace 'value' by 'innerHTML' (for IE only) but to no effect. Catching button events and responding to, for example changing title bar text and changing View background color works fine, but how the heck do I access and more importantly draw on the view defined in main.xml UPDATE: That for your suggestion, however besides that I need a View, not ImageView and you are missing a parameter on canvas.drawText and an ending bracket, it does not work. Now this is most likely because you missed the fact that I am a newbie and assuming I can fill in any blanks. I hope somebody can break this down for me and provide a solution, and perhaps explain why I can't just create a View element in my main.xml layotu file and draw on it in code.

  • Jackson object mapping - map incoming JSON field to protected property in base class

    We use Jersey/Jackson for our REST application. Incoming JSON strings get mapped to the @Entity objects in the backend by Jackson to be persisted. The problem arises from the base class that we use for all entities. It has a protected id property, which we want to exchange via REST as well so that when we send an object that has dependencies, hibernate will automatically fetch these dependencies by their ids. Howevery, Jackson does not access the setter, even if we override it in the subclass to be public. We also tried using @JsonSetter but to no avail. The incoming B will have the A reference but without an ID. Is there any way to tell Jackson to either ignore the base class setter or tell it to use the subclass setter instead? I've just found out about @JsonTypeInfo but I'm not sure this is what I need or how to use it. Thanks for any help!

  • Help with force close occurrences in my app

    This is the last issue with this app. Periodic force close situations. I think something should be on another thread but I'm not sure what. Anyway, I can always count on a freeze on first install. If I wait, eventually (maybe 10 seconds) the app comes around, maybe more. here is an excerpt from logcat--the three lines occur after full layout is displayed and I attempt to touch a [game] 'peg' which should spawn a sprite, but the freeze occurs there.     Hello, I'm trying to match an email address here is what I've come up with so far : String text = "gandalf_storm@mymail.com"; String regex = "(\\w+)@{1}(\\w+){2,}\\.{1}\\w{2,4}"; This however works with following cases : gandalf_storm@mymail.com gandalfstorm@mymail.com gandalf2storm@mymail.com So it matches any alphanumeric character repeated once or more that comes before one @ followed by any alphanumeric character repeated at least two times(which is minimal characters for any domain name) followed by one .(dot) and followed by any alphanumeric character repeated at least 2 times and at most 4 times(because there are domains such as .us or .mobi). This expression however does not work with emails such as : gandalf.storm@mymail.com [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] etc as many subdomains or gandalf.storm@mymail.com [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] I've just started to learn regex and I found interesting to try to solve problems such as these by using regex .. not partially but for each case, any help would be much appriciated.   • For "draggable" div tags that are NOT nested: JQuery/JavaScript div tag “containment” approach/algor

    Background: I've created an online circuit design application where .draggable() div tags are containers that contain smaller div containers and so forth. Question: For any particular div tag I need to quickly identify if it contains other div tags (that may in turn contain other div tags). -- Since the div tags are draggable, in the DOM they are NOT nested inside each other but I think are absolutely positioned. So I think that a "hit testing" approach is the only way to determine containment, unless there is some "secret" routine built-in somewhere that could help with this. I've searched JQuery and I don't see any built-in routine for this. Does anyone know of an algorithm that's quicker than O(n^2)? Seems like I have to walk the list of div tags in an outer loop (n) and have an inner loop (another n) to compare against all other div tags and do a "containment test" (position, width, height), building a list of contained div tags. That's n-squared. Then I have to build a list of all nested div tags by concatenating contained lists. So the total would be O(n^2)+n. There must be a better way?

    I know there are already a few threads available here on this subject but I want others' opinion on this. There are two ways to set/read the cross domain cookies: Creating IFrame on A.com pointing to a page on B.com which creates the cookie and pass that information by creating another IFrame on B.com side pointing to A.com, either using window.name or in location.href.hash A.com page makes a XHR/JSONP call to B.com web service/page that has the following headers and it also sets up the cookie and returns the value. AddHeader("p3p", "CP=\"IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT\"") As we don't have postMessage available across all the browsers, I believe we have to go with one of the cases mentioned above. My question is which is a better way (cleaner) and why to implement for cross browser. Using any other JS framework is out of scope of this discussion.   • CSS: series of floated elements without wrapping but rather scrolling horizontally

    I'm working on a album viewer. At the top I want a horizontal container of all the image thumbnails. Right now all the thumbnails are wrapped in a div with float:left. I'm trying to figure out how to keep these thumbnails from wrapping to the next line when there are too many, but rather stay all in one horizontal row and use the scrollbar.   • Avoiding the Controller with Routing Rules in ASP.NET MVC

    I've created a website with ASP.NET MVC. I have a number of static pages that I am currently serving through a single controller called Home. This creates some rather ugly URLs. example.com/Home/About example.com/Home/ContactUs example.com/Home/Features You get the idea. I'd rather not have to create a controller for each one of these as the actions simply call the View with no model being passed in. Is there a way to write a routing rule that will remove the controller from the URL? I'd like it to look like: example.com/About example.com/ContactUs example.com/Features If not, how is this situation normally handled? I imagine I'm not the first person to run in to this.

  • Retry web service call if authentication failure requires re-login

    I'm consuming a web service from C#, and the web service requires a login call and then uses cookie sessions. The web service will time out sessions after a certain timeframe, after which the client will have to re-login. I'd like to find a way to automatically catch the soap fault the service sends back in this scenario, and handle it by re-logging in and then retrying the previously attempted call. I would prefer to do this somehow automatically for all the web service methods in question, rather than having to manually wrap the calls with the retry logic. Suggestions?

I am attempting to clean out a table but not get rid of the actual structure of the table, i have the following columns: id, username, date, text the id is auto incrementing, I don't need to keep the ID number, but i do need it to keep its auto-incrementing characteristic. I've found delete and truncate but I'm worried one of these will completely drop the entire table rendering future insert commands useless. Thank you, Everybody!

    Hi everyone! Here's the situation I have a webpage which has one drop down called prefer. I wanted the user to be able to choose one option and then have a link next to it called "Add" which generates another textbox with the same options, i was going to use jquery to show an additional drop down. But if possible I wanted to put the select box in an array and then loop through this process infinitely. so I could call select name="prefer[]" and somehow put in a variable which increases. Afterwards, I could use php to cycle through the array and utilize each one. Could I do this with Javascript somehow?
