  • C# Persistent WebClient

    - by Nullstr1ng
    I have a class written in C# (Windows Forms) It's a WebClient class which I intent to use in some website and for Logging In and navigation. Here's the complete class pastebin.com (the class has 197 lines so I just use pastebin. Sorry if I made a little bit harder for you to read the class, also below this post) The problem is, am not sure why it's not persistent .. I was able to log in, but when I navigate to other page (without leaving the domain), I was thrown back to log in page. Can you help me solving this problem? one issue though is, the site I was trying to connect is "HTTPS" protocol. I have not yet tested this on just a regular HTTP. Thank you in advance. /* * Web Client v1.2 * --------------- * Date: 12/17/2010 * author: Jayson Ragasa */ using System; using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Specialized; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using System.IO; using System.Net; using System.Web; namespace Nullstring.Modules.WebClient { public class WebClientLibrary { #region vars string _method = string.Empty; ArrayList _params; CookieContainer cookieko; HttpWebRequest req = null; HttpWebResponse resp = null; Uri uri = null; #endregion #region properties public string Method { set { _method = value; } } #endregion #region constructor public WebClientLibrary() { _method = "GET"; _params = new ArrayList(); cookieko = new CookieContainer(); } #endregion #region methods public void ClearParameter() { _params.Clear(); } public void AddParameter(string key, string value) { _params.Add(string.Format("{0}={1}", WebTools.URLEncodeString(key), WebTools.URLEncodeString(value))); } public string GetResponse(string URL) { StringBuilder response = new StringBuilder(); #region create web request { uri = new Uri(URL); req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(URL); req.Method = "GET"; req.GetLifetimeService(); } #endregion #region get web response { resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); Stream resStream = resp.GetResponseStream(); int bytesReceived = 0; string tempString = null; int count = 0; byte[] buf = new byte[8192]; do { count = resStream.Read(buf, 0, buf.Length); if (count != 0) { bytesReceived += count; tempString = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buf, 0, count); response.Append(tempString); } } while (count > 0); } #endregion return response.ToString(); } public string GetResponse(string URL, bool HasParams) { StringBuilder response = new StringBuilder(); #region create web request { uri = new Uri(URL); req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(URL); req.MaximumAutomaticRedirections = 20; req.AllowAutoRedirect = true; req.Method = this._method; req.Accept = "text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8"; req.KeepAlive = true; req.CookieContainer = this.cookieko; req.UserAgent = "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_8; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.224 Safari/534.10"; } #endregion #region build post data { if (HasParams) { if (this._method.ToUpper() == "POST") { string Parameters = String.Join("&", (String[])this._params.ToArray(typeof(string))); UTF8Encoding encoding = new UTF8Encoding(); byte[] loginDataBytes = encoding.GetBytes(Parameters); req.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; req.ContentLength = loginDataBytes.Length; Stream stream = req.GetRequestStream(); stream.Write(loginDataBytes, 0, loginDataBytes.Length); stream.Close(); } } } #endregion #region get web response { resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); Stream resStream = resp.GetResponseStream(); int bytesReceived = 0; string tempString = null; int count = 0; byte[] buf = new byte[8192]; do { count = resStream.Read(buf, 0, buf.Length); if (count != 0) { bytesReceived += count; tempString = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buf, 0, count); response.Append(tempString); } } while (count > 0); } #endregion return response.ToString(); } #endregion } public class WebTools { public static string EncodeString(string str) { return HttpUtility.HtmlEncode(str); } public static string DecodeString(string str) { return HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(str); } public static string URLEncodeString(string str) { return HttpUtility.UrlEncode(str); } public static string URLDecodeString(string str) { return HttpUtility.UrlDecode(str); } } } UPDATE Dec 22GetResponse overload public string GetResponse(string URL) { StringBuilder response = new StringBuilder(); #region create web request { //uri = new Uri(URL); req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(URL); req.Method = "GET"; req.CookieContainer = this.cookieko; } #endregion #region get web response { resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); Stream resStream = resp.GetResponseStream(); int bytesReceived = 0; string tempString = null; int count = 0; byte[] buf = new byte[8192]; do { count = resStream.Read(buf, 0, buf.Length); if (count != 0) { bytesReceived += count; tempString = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buf, 0, count); response.Append(tempString); } } while (count 0); } #endregion return response.ToString(); } But still I got thrown back to login page.   • Getting anchor text from a webpage using xpath within YQL

    - by Matt
    SELECT content FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a/text()" does not work, whereas SELECT * FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a/text()" does. SELECT content FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a" also works, it seems YQL has a bug, or am I missing something?

  • Is there anyway to exclude artifacts inherited from a parent POM?

    - by Miguel
    Artifacts from dependencies can be excluded by declaring an <exclusions> element inside a <dependency> But in this case it's needed to exclude an artifact inherited from a parent project. An excerpt of the POM under discussion follows: <project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <groupId>test</groupId> <artifactId>jruby</artifactId> <version>0.0.1-SNAPSHOT</version> <parent> <artifactId>base</artifactId> <groupId>es.uniovi.innova</groupId> <version>1.0.0</version> </parent> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>com.liferay.portal</groupId> <artifactId>ALL-DEPS</artifactId> <version>1.0</version> <scope>provided</scope> <type>pom</type> </dependency> </dependencies> </project> base artifact, depends on javax.mail:mail-1.4.jar, and ALL-DEPS depends on another version of the same library. Due to the fact that mail.jar from ALL-DEPS exist on the execution environment, although not exported, collides with the mail.jar that exists on the parent, which is scoped as compile. A solution could be to rid off mail.jar from the parent POM, but most of the projects that inherit base, need it (as is a transtive dependency for log4j). So What I would like to do is to simply exclude parent's library from the child project, as it could be done if base was a dependency and not the parent pom: ... <dependency> <artifactId>base</artifactId> <groupId>es.uniovi.innova</groupId> <version>1.0.0</version> <type>pom<type> <exclusions> <exclusion> <groupId>javax.mail</groupId> <artifactId>mail</artifactId> </exclusion> </exclusions> </dependency> ...

    - by Phill Pafford
    So I'm scraping a site that I have access to via HTTPS, I can login and start the process but each time I hit a new page (URL) the cookie Session Id changes. How do I keep the logged in Cookie Session Id? #!/usr/bin/perl -w use strict; use warnings; use WWW::Mechanize; use HTTP::Cookies; use LWP::Debug qw(+); use HTTP::Request; use LWP::UserAgent; use HTTP::Request::Common; my $un = 'username'; my $pw = 'password'; my $url = 'https://subdomain.url.com/index.do'; my $agent = WWW::Mechanize->new(cookie_jar => {}, autocheck => 0); $agent->{onerror}=\&WWW::Mechanize::_warn; $agent->agent('Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100407 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.6.3'); $agent->get($url); $agent->form_name('form'); $agent->field(username => $un); $agent->field(password => $pw); $agent->click("Log In"); print "After Login Cookie: "; print $agent->cookie_jar->as_string(); print "\n\n"; my $searchURL='https://subdomain.url.com/search.do'; $agent->get($searchURL); print "After Search Cookie: "; print $agent->cookie_jar->as_string(); print "\n"; The output: After Login Cookie: Set-Cookie3: JSESSIONID=367C6D; path="/thepath"; domain=subdomina.url.com; path_spec; secure; discard; version=0 After Search Cookie: Set-Cookie3: JSESSIONID=855402; path="/thepath"; domain=subdomain.com.com; path_spec; secure; discard; version=0 Also I think the site requires a CERT (Well in the browser it does), would this be the correct way to add it? $ENV{HTTPS_CERT_FILE} = 'SUBDOMAIN.URL.COM'; ## Insert this after the use HTTP::Request... Also for the CERT In using the first option in this list, is this correct? - by Kugel
    Let's suppose I have xml like this one: <Server Active="No"> <Url>http://some.url</Url> </Server> C# class looks like this: public class Server { [XmlAttribute()] public string Active { get; set; } public string Url { get; set; } } Is it possible to change Active property to type bool and have XmlSerializer coerce "Yes" "No" to bool values? Edit: Xml is received, I cannot change it. So, in fact, i'm interested in deserialization only.

  • Get the SEF URLs for articles in joomla

    - by DMin
    Hi, I use no-editor in joomla with SEF urls enabled. With no SEF enabled its easy to know the URL by just getting the ID of the article something like : Article 1 would be : http://www.abc.com/j15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=1 Now if I have SEF switched on I would get urls that look like: http://www.abc.com/j15/the-content.html Is there a way inside joomla where I can findout what the SEF URL for a particular page is? Currently I add these articles to a menu, then from the front-end I get the SEF URL and then use it. I know the process is a little dumb but I want to find-out if there is a better way inside joomla where you can get the SEF URL(using no-editor). Thanks! :)

  • Testing file existence using NSURL

    - by Peter Hosey
    Snow Leopard introduced many new methods to use NSURL objects to refer to files, not pathnames or Core Services' FSRefs. However, there's one task I can't find a URL-based method for: Testing whether a file exists. I'm looking for a URL-based version of -[NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:]. Like that method, it should return YES if the URL describes anything, whether it's a regular file, a directory, or anything else. I could attempt to look up various resource values, but none of them are explicitly guaranteed to not exist if the file doesn't, and some of them (e.g., NSURLEffectiveIconKey) could be costly if it does. I could just use NSFileManager's fileExistsAtPath:, but if there's a more modern method, I'd prefer to use that. Is there a simple method or function in Cocoa, CF, or Core Services that's guaranteed/documented to tell me whether a given file (or file-reference) URL refers to a file-system object that exists?

  • Unable to control requests for static files on Google App Engine

  • What's the best method in ASP.NET to obtain the current domain?

    - by Graphain
    Hi, I am wondering what the best way to obtain the current domain is in ASP.NET? For instance: http://www.domainname.com/subdir/ should yield http://www.domainname.com http://www.sub.domainname.com/subdir/ should yield http://sub.domainname.com As a guide, I should be able to add a url like "/Folder/Content/filename.html" (say as generated by Url.RouteUrl() in ASP.NET MVC) straight onto the URL and it should work.

  • Why NOT use POST method here?

    - by Camran
    I have a classifieds website. In the main page (index) I have several form fields which the user may or may not fill in, in order to specify a detailed search of classifieds. Ex: Category: Cars Price from: 3000 Price to: 10000 Color: Red Area: California The forms' action is set to a php page: <form action='query_sql.php' method='post'> In query_sql.php I fetch the variables like this: category=$_POST['category']; etc etc... Then query MySql: $query="SELECT........WHERE category='$category' etc etc.... $results = mysql_query($query); Then I simply display the results of the query to the user by creating a table which is filled in dynamically depending on the results set. However, according to an answer by Col. Shrapnel in my previous Q I shouldn't use POST here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3004754/how-to-hide-url-from-users-when-submitting-this-form The reason I use post is simply to hide the "one-page-word-document" long URL in the browsers adress bar. I am very confused, is it okay to use POST or not? It is working fine both when I use GET or POST now... And it is already on a production server... Btw, in the linked question, I wasn't referring to make URL invisible (or hide it) I just wanted it too look better (which I have accomplished with mod_rewrite). UPDATE: If I use GET, then how should I make the url better looking (beautiful)? Check this previous Q out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3000524/how-to-make-this-very-long-url-appear-short

  • Getting error 400 / 404 - HttpUtility.UrlEncode not encoding full string?

    - by Justin808
    Why do the following URLs give me the IIS errors below: A) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small+test' A2) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small%20test' <-- this works, but is not the result from HttpUtility.UrlEncode() B) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/'%26$%23funky**!!~''+page Error for A: HTTP Error 404.11 - Not Found The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence. Error for B: HTTP Error 400.0 - Bad Request ASP.NET detected invalid characters in the URL. The last part of the URL after /Show/ is the result after the text is being sent through HttpUtility.UrlEncode() so, according to Microsoft it is URL Encoded correctly. If I user HttpUtility.UrlPathEncode() rather than HttpUtility.UrlEncode() I get the A2 results. But B ends up looking like: http://192.168.1.96/TVCMS-CVJZ/cms/View.aspx/Show/'&$#funky**!!~''%20page which is still wrong. Does Microsoft know how to URL Encode at all? Is there a function someone has written up to do it the correct way?

  • Not able to get data from Json completely

    - by Abhinav Raja
    i am getting JSON data from http://abinet.org/?json=1 and displaying the titles in a ListView. the code is working fine but the problem is, it is skipping few titles in my ListView and one title is being repeated. You can see the json data from url given above by copy paste it in JSON editor online http://www.jsoneditoronline.org/ i want titles in the "posts" array to be displayed in ListView, however it is being displayed like this: if you see the JSON data from the link above, its missing like 3 titles (they should come between the first and second title) and 5th title is being repeated. Dont know why this is happening. What minor adjustments i need to do? Please help me. this is my code : public class MainActivity extends Activity { // URL to get contacts JSON private static String url = "http://abinet.org/?json=1"; // JSON Node names private static final String TAG_POSTS = "posts"; static final String TAG_TITLE = "title"; private ProgressDialog pDialog; JSONArray contacts = null; TextView img_url; ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>> contactList; ListView lv; LazyAdapter adapter; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.newslist); contactList = new ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>>(); new GetContacts().execute(); } private class GetContacts extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, Void> { protected void onPreExecute() { super.onPreExecute(); // Showing progress dialog pDialog = new ProgressDialog(MainActivity.this); pDialog.setMessage("Please wait..."); pDialog.setCancelable(false); pDialog.show(); } protected Void doInBackground(Void... arg0) { // Making a request to url and getting response JSONParser jParser = new JSONParser(); // Getting JSON from URL JSONObject jsonObj = jParser.getJSONFromUrl(url); // if (jsonStr != null) { try { // Getting JSON Array node contacts = jsonObj.getJSONArray(TAG_POSTS); // looping through All Contacts for (int i = 0; i < contacts.length(); i++) { // JSONObject c = contacts.getJSONObject(i); JSONObject posts = contacts.getJSONObject(i); String title = posts.getString(TAG_TITLE).replace("&#8217;", "'"); JSONArray attachment = posts.getJSONArray("attachments"); for (int j = 0; j< attachment.length(); j++){ JSONObject obj = attachment.getJSONObject(j); JSONObject image = obj.getJSONObject("images"); JSONObject image_small = image.getJSONObject("thumbnail"); String imgurl = image_small.getString("url"); HashMap<String, Object> contact = new HashMap<String, Object>(); contact.put("image_url", imgurl); contact.put(TAG_TITLE, title); contactList.add(contact); } } } catch (JSONException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return null; } @Override protected void onPostExecute(Void result) { super.onPostExecute(result); // Dismiss the progress dialog if (pDialog.isShowing()) pDialog.dismiss(); adapter=new LazyAdapter(MainActivity.this, contactList); lv.setAdapter(adapter); } } } this is my JsonParser class (although its not required): public JSONParser() { } public JSONObject getJSONFromUrl(String url) { // Making HTTP request try { // defaultHttpClient DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(url); HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); is = httpEntity.getContent(); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } try { BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader( is, "iso-8859-1"), 8); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); String line = null; while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) { sb.append(line + "n"); } is.close(); json = sb.toString(); } catch (Exception e) { Log.e("Buffer Error", "Error converting result " + e.toString()); } // try parse the string to a JSON object try { jObj = new JSONObject(json); } catch (JSONException e) { Log.e("JSON Parser", "Error parsing data " + e.toString()); } // return JSON String return jObj; } } and this is adapter class: public class LazyAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private Activity activity; private ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>> data; private static LayoutInflater inflater=null; public LazyAdapter(Activity a,ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>> d) { activity = a; data=d; inflater = (LayoutInflater)activity.getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); } public int getCount() { return data.size(); } public Object getItem(int position) { return position; } public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View vi=convertView; if(convertView==null) vi = inflater.inflate(R.layout.third_row, null); TextView title = (TextView)vi.findViewById(R.id.headline3); // title SmartImageView iv = (SmartImageView) vi.findViewById(R.id.imageicon); HashMap<String, Object> song = new HashMap<String, Object>(); song = data.get(position); // Setting all values in listview title.setText((CharSequence) song.get(MainActivity.TAG_TITLE)); iv.setImageUrl((String) song.get("image_url")); thumb_image); return vi; } } Please help me. • django-social-auth for Facebook is redirecting home and not logging in

    - by Scott Rogowski
    I have had django-social-auth working for Google for quite some time now but am having problems with Facebook. I am at the point where clicking on the /login/facebook/ link will take me to the Facebook authorization page. I then click "go to app" and it redirects me to my home page but does not log in or create a user but does put some strange "#=" onto the back of my URL. Reading up on that, here https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/552/, and here https://github.com/omab/django-social-auth/issues/199, it seems that would be happening if the redirect uri was not defined. However, on my facebook app settings, I have the following (replacing my site with example.com): + App Namespace: "example" + Site URL: "http://example.com/complete/facebook/" + Site Domain: "example.com" + Sandbox Mode: "On" + Post-Authorize Redirect URL: "http://apps.facebook.com/example/" + Deauthorize URL: "http://www.example.com/" + Post-Authorize URL: "http://example.com/complete/facebook/" The request that django-social-auth is sending to facebook is (replacing my info again): "https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?scope=email&state=*&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fcomplete%2Ffacebook%2F%3Fredirect_state%3D***&client_id=*" The /complete/facebook/ is what is in the documentation and google works as /complete/google/ What am I missing here?

  • Why is this HTTP request continually looping?

    - by alex
    I'm probably overlooking something really obvious here. Comments are in to help explain any library specific code. public function areCookiesEnabled() { $random = 'cx67ds'; // set cookie cookie::set('test_cookie', $random); // try and get cookie, if not set to false $testCookie = cookie::get('test_cookie', false); $cookiesAppend = '?cookies=false'; // were we able to get the cookie equal ? $cookiesEnabled = ($testCookie === $random); // if $_GET['cookies'] === false , etc try and remove $_GET portion if ($this->input->get('cookies', false) === 'false' AND $cookiesEnabled) { url::redirect(str_replace($cookiesAppend, '', url::current())); // redirect return false; } // all else fails, add a $_GET[] if ( ! $cookiesEnabled) { url::redirect(url::current().$cookiesAppend); } return $cookiesEnabled; }

  • Do not re-create session id .net cookieless sessions

    - by nLL
    Due to target audience I am using .net cookieless sessions in auto-detect mode and time to time I get visitors redirected with cookiless session url like domain.com/(S(jdhdghdghd))/default.aspx Problem is, if I call this url after session expired .net will re-create it. What I want to find out is a way to force .net to create another session id instead of using the one that came with url. Is it possible?
