    I have a website which i want to make more mobile friendly(currently its not). While searching about this i found this awesome website Ginwiz; my website can be modified into an mobile friendly site without any additional coding. But i find two disadvantages with this website (free version) 1)We cant add our domain to it with out upgrading (i dont have enough money to pay for it) 2)We can only "Advanced edit" one page Do you know any website which is similar to Ginwiz but can use our domain address instead of theirs (in free version). Do you have any idea about any tools which can be also used to convert my website to mobile website by trimming my current website easily.

    Can you recommend a package that allows me to manage subscriptions to certain content on my website (not necessarily displayable) based on payment levels? Ideally, the software would allow logging in using both site-specific registration and PayPal/Facebook/Twitter/MyOpenId, etc. Preferably, it would also be open source, LAMP-based. One idea that I have in mind is hacking a shopping cart software like Zen-Cart but this may be an overkill if a non-shopping lighter-weight package exists.

    Accordingly to this thread, it seems that default parameters aren't supported by C# script in Unity3D environment. Declaring an optional parameter in a C# scirpt makes Mono Ide complaint about it: void Foo(int first, int second = 10) // this line is marked as wrong inside Mono IDE Anyway if I ignore the error message of Mono and run the script in Unity, it works without notify any error inside Unity Console. Could anyone clarify a little bit this issue? Particularly: Are default parameters allowed inside C# scripts? If yes, are they supported by all platforms? Why Mono complains about them if the actually works?

    What good and free Social Networking Site solutions there are? I tried many options but most of them are either too complicated, too simple, or just do not work... I tried: Dolphin, DZOIC-Handshakes, elgg, Oxwall, SocialEngine, and some plugins for wp and other CMS. I don't need much, just: groups, chats, forums, profiles, PM, photos, pages, comments, search, statistics. Most of which included in pretty much every CMS out there, but not all.. So, what good solutions there are? Also I don't mind paying some money (I guess no more then $200), but I'd prefer if it was a free open source engine. Of course it should be PHP+MySQL based.

However, I do not know how to program in the PHP language or create and manipulate MySQL databases.     I'm the webmaster for a debate team, and we're trying to find a tool that allows us to have multiple team members say when they're available and see who else is available during those timeslots for one-on-one practice rounds. I suppose we could use something like Doodle, but that would involve recreating the Doodle every week. There are many scheduling tools available, but they're usually built so that you can sign up to meet with a specific individual (think a doctor or a professor's office hours), whereas you could be paired with ANY individual.

    I make a lot of use of Google Analytics - Google has reasonable tracking for location of users so I can tell where users come from. I know it is not 100% but it gives an idea. In the wake of Prism it is possible that more people will make use of networks such as tor for anonymous browsing. I have no problem with this, people can wear tin foil hats while browsing my site for all I care, but it will lead to more erroneous stats. Is there any way to flag traffic as coming from TOR, so I can filter location reports not to include it, and to get an idea of the percentage of traffic which does use it? Has anyone actually tried this?

  • MODX based site has been compromised, and tagged by Google as malware

    I'm the webmaster (inherited the site from the developer) for a site called kenbrook.org. The site is currently being tagged as malware infected by Google, and gives the following details: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=kenbrook.org Sadly, this is the second time it has occurred. I posted the issue when it happened last year originally on Stackoverflow on this post, shortly after I inherited the site. At the time the fix was a simple removal of a few lines of code from a .js file, but I never did discover or resolve the vulnerability. The site is built on MODX, which neither I, nor the original builder, have any familiarity with. I've tried to check for security updates from MODX, but updating that software has been a real pain also. Sooo...what's my next step to getting this whole issue resolved? Or steps?

  • What to choose for a multilingual site with support for Markdown and commenting

    I want to publish articles at a multilingual site. I want to be able to write an article in two languages and have them available on separate URLs: thesite.foo/english-breakfast thesite.com/engelsk-frukost If the users web browser is set to English I'd like to show a small notice at the top of the Swedish version with a link to the English one. The link should have an appropriate rel attribute for a translation (search for hreflang at http://diveintohtml5.org/semantics.html). There should be a way to list all articles belonging to these sets: Swedish only, English only, Swedish versions + English only, English versions + Swedish only. I'd like to publish these as four RSS-feeds. And I would like to have two versions of the main site, one in Swedish (showing Swedish versions + English only) and one in English (showing English versions). I shall be able to write the articles using Markdown, as that is the formatting language I find most convenient. There should be a way for users to comment. And some kind of way for me to protect myself against comment spam. I am leaning towards learning Drupal. I suspect I'll have to code this behavior myself as a module. To be frank I'd rather work with Java. Is Drupal the way to go? Or is there something more suitable for this project?

    From my limited exposure, it seems to me that most shopping cart/eCommerce platforms are specifically for products-based retailers. On several occasions now, I've been asked about ecommerce solutions for service providers. That is, it's basically just a single product with payment but no shipping, and highly configurable "product". Any recommendations for a cost-efficient solution (high feature coverage) for such a web platform? Requirements: .NET No/suppressed product catalog A service customization selection form Payment (probably PayPal with accountless credit card processing) Guest purchases (no site account required) Email confirmation Customer service -facing control panel It's hard to search for such a product because I get "web service based ecommerce software" and so on clouding up the results.

A popular CMS that could be up to date over the next 3 or 4 years. I took a look at Drupal 7. Not sure about whether it's easy possible to create member profiles (they should be able to edit them self), a board and team overviews. I made a perl and bash script to make a backup of my firewalls and tranfers via tftp #!/bin/sh perl /deploy/scripts/backups/10.160.23.1.pl > /dev/null 2>&1 perl /deploy/scripts/backups/10.160.23.2.pl > /dev/null 2>&1 so this tranfers the file to my tftp directory /tftpboot/ ls -l /tftpboot/ total 532 -rw-rw-rw- 1 tftp tftp 209977 jun 6 14:01 10.160.23.1_20140606.cfg -rw-rw-rw- 1 tftp tftp 329548 jun 6 14:02 10.160.23.2_20140606.cfg my questions is how to improve my script to moving this files dynamically to another folder based on the name (in this case on the ip address) for example: 10.160.23.1_20140606.cfg move to /deploy/backups/10.160.23.1/ is that the answer to this surely was on Google, but wanted to know if there was a particular solution to this request and also learn how to do :) Thanks!

    I am curious about the Google Closure Compiler. Why did they name it that? Does it have anything to do with lexical closures? EDIT: I tried researching it in the FAQ and documentation, as well as doing Google searches such as "closure compiler name". I couldn't find anything definite, hence the reason I am asking. I don't think I will get a profoundly helpful answer but I was hoping that I could at least satisfy my curiosity. I am not trying to solve a specific problem. I am just curious.

    Very recently I have started to write python scripts that need to connect few databases on mySQL server. The problem is that when I work from office my script works fine but running a script from my home while on office VPN generates connection error. I also noticed the mySQL client Squirrel also cannot connect from my home but works fine on Office computer. I think both are giving problem for the same reason. Do I need to create a ssh tunnel and forward the port? If yes how do I do it? mySQL is installed on server I have ssh access. Please help me on this AK

My criteria are the following: No Flash (this rules out more than half) Full history (meaning that it is possible to access all previous conversation for future reference. Very customizable No ugly IRC stuff filling up the chat view (I do not want to see who joined an who left etc.) No private conversations possible (this is just not in the spirit of Open-org.com) A hosted solution with a reasonable price. However, at 199$ per month their prices are outrageous.
