  • Access Error when running windows program

    - by JPJedi
I have a windows form application that uses microsoft access for the database on the backend. When I run that application I get an error that says access is not installed on the computer. I thought that if I included the reference that it will be included with what I release so the user would not have to have access installed. How do I include the Access Runtime to be distributed/installed when my application is installed?

  • authlogic - do I still need Rails sessions?

    - by tg
Hi, I'm a newbie to Rails and am starting a new project that uses AuthLogic. I'm just a little confused about whether AuthLogic provides everything I need to store session state, or whether I still have to include the Rails mechanism (rake db:sessions:create). Thanks! T

  • The same class file in multiple .jar files. How bad is this?

    - by Kannan Goundan
I have a library that writes data in either a text or binary format. It has the following three components: common data structures text writer (depends on 1) binary writer (depends on 1) The obvious way to distribute this is as 3 .jar files, so that users can include only what they need. However, the "common data structures" component is really just two small classes so I'm considering creating only two .jar files and including the common .class files in both. My question: What are the potential problems with doing this?

  • Biggest GWT Pitfalls?

    - by agartzke
I'm at the beginning/middle of a project that we chose to implement using GWT. Has anyone encountered any major pitfalls in using GWT (and GWT-EXT) that were unable to be overcome? How about from a performance perspective? A couple things that we've seen/heard already include: Google not being able to index content CSS and styling in general seems to be a bit flaky Looking for any additional feedback on these items as well. Thanks!

  • insert BibTeX article *here*, not at the end of the article

    - by vy32
I've seen this before, but I just can't find it. I am writing a resume and want to include the articles from my bibtex file. If I write \cite{FOO} then they all appear at the end. I know that there is some way to say \something{FOO} and the FOO reference appears here. Basically, I want this section of my CV to look like: \something{FOO1} \something{FOO2} What is the \something? Thanks.

  • How to link C# and C++ assemblies into a single executable

    - by swingkid
I have VS2008 solution containg a project that generates a C# executable that references a project that generates a dll containing both C++/CLI and unmanaged C++. I would like to merge these into a single executable, as the C++ dll contains security code that I want to embed in the main executable. I cannot use ILMerge, as the dll contains both managed and unmanaged code. The suggested solution seems to be to use link.exe to link the C# assembly with the C++ object files. This is what I am trying to do. I manually edited the project file for the c# executable to generate a netmodule. I added a post build step to the executable project to run link.exe to link the c# netmodule and the compiled C++ object files together, then run mt.exe to merge the assembly manifests created by both projects. This runs successfully, but the exe still contains a reference to and uses the c++ types defined in the dll generated by the normal build process for the C++ project. I then specified /NOASSEMBLY in the project settings for the C++ dll, so it also generates a netmodule. In the C# project, I removed the reference to the C++ project, but added a project dependancy in the solution. I manually edited the C# project file to include similar to: <ItemGroup> <AddModules Include="..\Debug\librarycode.netmodule" /> </ItemGroup> i.e. to reference the C++ netmodule that is now generated by the C++ project. However, now the linker step in my post build event fails with: error LNK2027: unresolved module reference 'librarycode.netmodule' fatal error LNK1311: 1 unresolved module references: This is entirely understandable, as I am not linking in the librarycode netmodule; I am linking in the C++ object files used to generate the netmodule instead. So in short, how do I merge a c# executable and C++ object files into a single assembly? What have I missed? My source of reference so far (appart from the link.exe command link reference etc on MSDN) are the two following articles: http://blogs.msdn.com/texblog/archive/2007/04/05/linking-native-c-into-c-applications.aspx http://www.hanselman.com/blog/MixingLanguagesInASingleAssemblyInVisualStudioSeamlesslyWithILMergeAndMSBuild.aspx I have a demonstration solution that shows my workings so far, if this helps. Thank you very much in advance.

  • CMake and BLAS for a C program

    - by SuperBloup
I'm trying to use CMake to build a program relying on blas, I'm detecting blas using : include (${CMAKE_ROOT}/Modules/FindBLAS.cmake) The problem is, FindBLAS require a fortran compiler and complain with -- Looking for BLAS... - NOT found (Fortran not enabled) As blas is already installed on my machine (ATLAS Blas), and gfortran is also installed, how can I enable Fortran, or is there a workaround to find the blas library for C?

But only ( , + and ) is getting written into lext.txt and not the identifier if or the variable a and b . Any particular reason why?

  • Splitting a filename into words and numbers in Python

    - by danspants
The following code splits a string into a list of words but does not include numbers: txt="there_once was,a-monkey.called phillip?09.txt" sep=re.compile(r"[\s\.,-_\?]+") sep.split(txt) ['there', 'once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', 'txt'] This code gives me words and numbers but still includes "_" as a valid character: re.findall(r"\w+|\d+",txt) ['there_once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', '09', 'txt'] What do I need to alter in either piece of code to end up with the desired result of: ['there', 'once', 'was', 'a', 'monkey', 'called', 'phillip', '09', 'txt']

  • x86 assembly idioms

    - by susmits
I've been trying to get a good hold on the x86 assembly language, and was wondering if there was a quick-and-short equivalent of movl $1, %eax. That's when I thought that a list of idioms used frequently in the language would perhaps be a good idea. This could include the preferred use of xorl %eax, %eax as opposed to movl $0, %eax, or testl %eax, %eax against cmpl $0, %eax. Oh, and kindly post one example per post!

  • How to read unix usage

    - by sixtyfootersdude
I did some searching but I cannot find documentation on how unix usage works. I know somethings (mostly through trial and error) but for example how do I know that: /usr/bin/ls [-aAbcCdeEfFghHilLmnopqrRstuvVx1@] [file]... Means that you can include more than one option. Ie: ls -la Can someone point me to some documentation on what the usage syntax is.

I have been playing with creating little windows forms apps without visual studio. I create my source in Notepad++ and compile with a NAnt build file. • SimpleModal plugin is causing jQuery conflict with Spring DWR

    - by DS
Hi, I'm using SimpleModal plugin (http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/) for generating a simple modal dialog. Now the application I'm using this in had some previous code that uses Spring MVC - DWR Ajax framework. I believe it uses jQuery internally. Now when I include the jQuery file in this project and use the plugin, the plugin works fine but it is breaking the existing AJAX implementations in the project (which I assume is because I'm including the jQuery file again.) How do I resolve this conflict?
