  • Getting a list of all children of a given commit

    I'd like to run git filter-branch on all children of a given commit. This doesn't seem to be an easy task, since there doesn't appear to be a way to tell git rev-list to only return children of a particular commit. Using the .. syntax won't work because it will also include the parent commits of any merge within that range. Am I missing something here?

  • indentationLevel property doesn't appear to do anything?

    I'm have a number rows I'm inserting into a table using -insertRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation, and I would like the rows to be indented from the left to distinguish them from the rest of the cells. The indentationLevel property of UITableViewCell looks like it's exactly what I need, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Here's the code I'm using to set the indentation level (dot syntax doesn't make a difference): [cell setIndentationWidth:10]; [cell setIndentationLevel:1]; Is indentationLevel what I want, or should I be looking elsewhere?

  • Can I update an Android provider.Settings.System value?

    I can read settings like this, for example: final String mytest = System.getString(this.getContentResolver(), System.AIRPLANE_MODE_ON); ...but can't seem to write to settings using putString, no matter what I've tried. Maybe it is the scope of this.getContentResolver()??? I'm a newbie, so who knows, maybe it can't be done, or it's just syntax? Currently the code is in the onCreate of an Activity class. Any insight is much appreciated.

    I've been looking into memory management a lot recently and have been looking at how events are managed, now, I'm seeing the explicit add/remove syntax for the event subscription. I think it's pretty simple, add/remove just allows me to perform other logic when I subscribe and unsubscribe? Am I getting it, or is there more to it?     what is the syntax (i.e. code example) in Lua so you can call a function prior to it being defined? i.e. how do you kind of create the function, but then add it's implementation further down in code. So roughly like this: define function name (doX) here somehow (i.e. subject of this question) call doX here (further down in the code) doX implemention here (i.e. all functions down at the bottom of the file)

    I know I can do an out of band Post request with Jquery and the $.post( syntax. However, I'm interested to know if it is possible for jquery to cause a post request on the whole page (as when a form is submitted) so that a brand new page is loaded. Is this possible? Thanks There is no form element in the DOM, so I can't do form.submit().

    I'm trying to use a dynamically generated fully-qualified table name in sql server 2008. For example, this does not work: select max([id]) from @dbName+N'.[T1]' This will give an error like: Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 73 Incorrect syntax near '+'. I know that something like this works: declare @qualifiedTable varchar(200) = @dbName+N'.[T1]' select max([id]) from @qualifiedTable But I have to do this LOTS of times so I would really like to do it in line. Is it possible?
