Is there a case insensitive version of the :contains jQuery selector or should I do the work manually by looping over all elements and comparing their .text() to my string?
Im using the following function to hide a series of forms on a page:
$('.ask').toggle(function() {
$(this).text('-').next('.addtitle').slideDown('fast');
}, function() {
$(this).text('+').next('.addtitle').slideUp('fast');
});
There can be anything from 0 to 5 forms on the page all with the class .ask
What I want to be able to do is to select one form NOT to hide, so the jQuery needs to hide all put one of the forms on the page randomly.
How can I achieve this?
Hiya,
I have a simple set of images nested in a div tag, I'm just wondering how I can chose an item with a specific index programatically?
var n = new Array();
n.push(a);
n.push(b);
n.push(c);
n[1]; // b
How do I do this in JQuery?
Thanks
Is there a way to hide a form from my users until they click a link and then the form drops down for the user to fill out, by using PHP or JQuery if so how? Is there a tutorial that will teach me how to do this?
Im doing some form validation on a website and I've tried to use JQuery Validator and it works find but isn't valid as it uses custom attributes. I've tried every which way to make it valid but it seems besides some other custom javascript, which is not an option, it isn't valid.
Has anyone come across one that is valid? Or some other way to make it valid? I've tried custom dtds, adding the attribute to the doctype but that leaves a ] on the page.
Cheers
Hi, I want to send the username and password values which user types in html input elements to server to check if the username and password is valid or not when user click login button, using post request in $.ajax(options) method in jquery, but I don't know how to send those username and password to server. What option should I write in $.ajax(options) method to get those values from server?
If you have the xml below in $(xml), you would get droopy using:
$(xml).find("animal").find("dog").find("beagle").text()
Is there an equivalent way in jQuery to use xpath like $(xml).xpathfind("/animal/dog/beagle").text()?
<animal>
<dog>
<beagle>
droopy
</beagle>

I have an HTML table having n rows and each rows contain one radiobutton in the Row.Using jQuery , How can i look thru these radio buttons to check which one is checked ?
I'm trying to select the id's of dynamic input fields in my code. When clicking a button, the form will create a form field like this:
<td><input type="text" id="field_a_1"></td>
<td><input type="text" id="field_b_1"></td>
<td><input type="text" id="field_c_1"></td>
When I click on the button again I get this:
<td><input type="text" id="field_a_2"></td>
<td><input type="text" id="field_b_2"></td>
<td><input type="text" id="field_c_2"></td>
What I want to do is select only the field id that I need to pull the value from that particular input and pass it to a variable like this:
var example = $(":input:eq(0)").val();
I know that by adding the :eq(0) after the :input selector it will only grab the id for field_a_1, so how do I set it up so that I can pull just the field that I need to assign it to a variable?
I'm looking for alternative JavaScript Libraries to learn as an alternative to jQuery, as I think it would be good to know more than one and so i can broaden what libraries I know.
I'd tried Mootools so far but am not sure what else is just as good.
Any ideas?
I have attribute value as:
<div id = "zone-3a-2f-2f-2fPortal-2fPages-2fHome-2fZones-2fLeft-2f-7ccomponent-3a-2f-2f-2fSpm-2fComponents-2fPromotion-2f" class = "promotion">
Now I want to get only portion of it, say Promotion and its value 2f, how can I get this using jquery ? Do we have built in function for it ?
$("#table").click(function(e) {
var row = jQuery(e.target || e.srcElement).parent();
$('#tabletr').bind('click', show);
name= row.att("id");
});
I am not getting the id value very first time i click on the row?
second time I am getting fine?
can anyone tell me why its happening like this?
jQuery is great especially its plugin but I do not like to add a lot of script tags in my html. Is there something similar to dojo.require? So I can manage those plugins easier and cleaner.
Hello,
i think the fullcalendar jquery-plugin is a really great solution.
i saw does the string for the title in the fullcalender plugin is escaped (htmlEscape). But i need to format some strings in the title for example bold text or colors, or small images?
the solution with another plugin (for example qTip, like in the examples) will not the right way for me.
is there anyway to format the title text?

Hi all, would the following Jquery selector get all of the 4th td elements of all the tables on the current page, and return their text as an array?:
var isbn = $.makeArray($("table tr td:nth-child(4)").text());
While I'm pretty sure this might just get closed, I might just have some free time on my hands so I'm opening a request thread to see if anyone desires a jQuery plugin that I might be able to provide - if you have a specific request for a plugin that you can't find which isn't overly demanding ( such as a game ) can you reply to this thread?

So I have image on my html page. I want uipdate it 14 times per second smoothly (with some default Jquery effect) (update image with one from URL same as image has ... or refresh if it sounds better) How to do such thing?
I'm using jquery 1.3 and is trying to duplicate the 1.4 .has functionality.
I need to check if the .page element contains the image, and if it doesn't, append it.
Is it something like:
var imageid = thirdimage;
if ($('#page:has(#'+imageid+')') === undefined) {
$('#page').append($('#'+imageid));
}
Thanks.
