  • Jquery pagination

    Hi , I have my code working etc for the pagination plugin but I have a slight error. When I add a table above my table which works with the sorter and pagination the pagination does not work. I think it is because that the table above it is taking the all the features and not using them. So is there a way to define which table to use like using a ID ? If any one could give an example it would be great. This is the code I am using http://tablesorter.com/addons/pager/jquery.tablesorter.pager.js

    I have been making a threaded comment system as a way to learn php and javascript/jquery properly. Ive done bits and bobs in the past but ive made a new years resolution to learn it properly. Im having trouble inserting a reply form into the comment tree below the comment being replied to. I know this is probably pretty basic but how do you insert html into a page when someone clicks a link. This code wasn't working for me: $(document).ready(function(){ $(function() { $('a#reply').click(function() { $(this).append("the html blah"); }); }); }); Anyone see where im going wrong?

  • Jquery UI accordion question - how would you approach this?

    I am using jquery UI accordion control in one of my apps asp.net apps. The data for the accordion comes from a database, and each database record has an ID, a Title Field and a content field. The title is the heading, and the content is the data that shows up when the draw is opened... I'd like to be able to call my page like this: http://www.mywebsite.com/mypage.aspx?ID=123 and have it display all the data (as it does now), but then have the default 'drawer' of the accordion open to the section that corresponds to the ID number passed in on the url...there are about 50 sections on the page. Any suggestions on how to approach this? My questions is specific to the jquery accordion function, the rest I know. So where would be the best place to 'tag' the drawer with the unique ID's, and then what is the snippet of javascript code (I assume) that I would use 'open' that drawer based on the ID passed in??     Ok, I'm trying to use jQuery $.post with the PasteBin API to create a PasteBin page and grab the URL (which the API says it returns). Here is my code so far: $('#send_code').click(function(){ $.post('http://pastebin.com/api_public.php', { paste_name: $('#paste_name').val(), paste_code: $('#paste_code').val() }, function(data){ alert(data); }); } The above script creates the page just fine (I can find them on PasteBin). However, all that is returned is an empty string. I've tried using this same API with php and cURL, and I'm able to retrieve the URL just fine. Can anyone see if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!

However, the variable has no value. I have tried with .reset() but no success. Any ideas why ?

  • Customising event delegates in the jQuery validation plug-in

    I am currently setting up the jQuery validation plug-in for use in our project. By default, there are some events automatically set up for handling. I.e. focus in/out, key up events on all inputs fire validation. I want it to only fire when the submit button is clicked. This functionality seems to be in-built into the plug-in, which is making it difficult to do this (without modifying the plug-in code, Not What I Want To Do). I have found the eventDelegate function calls in the plugin code prototype method: $(this.currentForm) .validateDelegate(":text, :password, :file, select, textarea", "focusin focusout keyup", delegate) .validateDelegate(":radio, :checkbox, select, option", "click", delegate); When I remove these lines from the plug-in I get my result, however I would much rather do something Outside the plug-in to achieve this. Can anybody please help me? If you need any more details, please let me know. I have searched google with little success. Thanks

  • A strange problem using jquery in IE6.

    I am using jquery load method to update divs , it works great until I test my code under IE6. The problem is : under IE6 , when I click a button to trigger a load method , the page is remaining unchanged until I move my cursor, that means if I click my mouse and keep my hand away from the mouse , the page is unchanged , if I move the mouse , the page is updated. This problem is only occurred under IE6 . IE7 , IE8, Firefox all have no problem. Have you guys ever encountered this kind of problem ?

    Ok so the scenario is as follows: Have a sharepoint site setup on Microsoft Online, basically this site is a job booking system and is based on a custom sharepoint list. What I am trying to achieve is to extract List Items where the Invoiced Column is set to "No". Eventually I would like to post this to xero.com using their API as it accepts XML through the API Endpoints. Have tried using JQuery and JPoint but my limited programming skills are holding me back. Could anyone offer me some advice or point me in the right direction of someone that could help? am willing to pay someone if they can help me with getting this to work :)

    Hello all, Is there a way to have the jquery treeview plugin automatically collapse when a user focuses on another element. More detail about what I am trying to do: I have a form where a user has to select an item from a large selection. To make this easier I have set up a small list of 5 commonly selected items each with associated radio select buttons. However if the item wanted is not in this common list the user has to use the treeview to search through different categories to find the item. Is there a way to collapse the treeview when the user clicks on one of the radio buttons from the common item list? Thanks for your help in advance, Andy

I tried $.competency but it didn't work. I always get a "competency is undefined" error. I had to reinitialize the variable once again inside the callback. Is there a way to NOT reinitialize the variable inside the callback?

So the form elements have the class="required" attribute. input type="text" name="last_name" class="required"/ Now if i want to apply some css properties to the input fields of this form - how do I do that. I do not want to declare a general css for all input elements - I have declared the css as follows: input.form { color: #000; background: #fff; border: 2px solid #E1E1E1; font-size: 16pt; width:150px; } And I want to use it this way input class="form" type="text" name="last_name" class="required"/ But this wont work as there are two class attributes here.     hi, I am having an issue with parsing XML with JQuery when there is a node with an option node <preferences><dashboard> <report id="si_pg_vw" order="0"> <header> <data> <option type="reportname" value="Page View"/> </data> </header> </report> the following code in firebug returns no children $reportElement.find("data")[0] however if I change option to any other value ("option2", "test" etc) then the line above returns one child which is correct.     Ever since my foray into AJAX, I've always used the "whatever works" method of manipulating AJAX data returns. I'd like to know what the definitive and modern best practice is for handling data. Is it best practice to generate the HTML via the server script and introduce the returned data on the onComplete function? Should XML/JSON be looked at first before anything? How about manipulating the returned data? Using .live() doesn't seem like it is the most efficient way. I've never seen a definitive answer to this question. Your expertise is much appreciated.

The problem is, these function won't be executed when clicking on anchors located in the new HTML fragment which were injected right before. So the fragment won't get injected into div, the browser will only load the fragment for itself. Hope there are solutions which aren't that tricky... thanks sam

My Intention: To call window.opener.myObject method that is going to retrieve some data using ajax and pass in callback function that live as nested function in popup window that initiated call that is going to handle response data and modify popup window html accordingly.
