  • How to Edit Permission on "Create" in MOSS07?

    When you go to Lists, and Create. I'd like to show the "Custom Lists" column only to specific group. I don't want the users to be able to create Web Pages, Document Libs .. etc But I'm not able to see how, I tried to create a custom group and edit permission level, but I cant find where exactly. does enabling "Create" to specific group opens all settings inside that you can't eliminate certain settings from showing to this group?.

  • Why is this CHOICE element not getting assigned in my SharePoint Field definition schema?

    I defined a new field of the type "Choice" for my web application. It will serve basically as a pseudo-lookup as its contents are defined by the value of a Text field in a list. It is initialized with a dummy choice to begin with (I'm under the impression a choice field needs at least one choice when defined), which is replaced with a real choice later on. But for some reason, this dummy choice is never actually added to the choices! Below is the XML Schema for the field in question. <Field ID="{ALICEH-ASFA-KEGU-IDLISTED}" Name="ddlSystems" Group="Lookup Columns" DisplayName="ddlSystems" Type="Choice" Sealed="FALSE" ReadOnly="FALSE" Hidden="FALSE" FillInChoice="TRUE" DisplaceOnUpgrade="TRUE"> <CHOICES> <CHOICE>BLANULL</CHOICE> </CHOICES> <Default>BLANULL</Default> </Field> Initially, I used a default choice of (a single space), but I changed it to BLANULL so that I can parse an actual word instead of a veritably empty string. Now, even after having uninstalled and reinstalled the feature with this field, I have a choice field that has (still a single space) as the only choice. Even more perplexing, BLANULL is actually listed for the default value in both the UI and the object model! What is causing this problem, and how can I circumvent it so that I don't have to manually set this dummy value each time?

    How do I get visual studio 2005 to work best with .asp files? I used to have this on my old PC but I can't get the settings right. I exported and important all my old settings and still no dice. alternatively I think there might be an even better choice for classic asp IDE editor. It'd be nice to have intellisense, completion, highlighting, stuff like that for ASP (vbscript) and css/html at the same time. (I'm happy not to type out css selectors) thanks

    I am trying to unit test a lot of my MVC controllers, but unfortunately it keeps failing because it needs a lot of settings from the web.config.. Which I copied over but does not read it, what I'm needing is the membership and rolemanager but I can't just add it to the app.config either, which I've been able to get the connection strings and application settings to work with.. Any idea how to get the web.config to work with MSTest?

    Hi SO's I have a question on good database design practices and I would like to leverage you guys for pointers. The project started out simple. Hey we have a bunch of questions we want answered for every project (no problem) Which turned into... Hey we have so many questions can we group them into sections (yup we can do that) Which lead into.. Can we weight these questions and I don't really want some of these questions for my project (Yes but we are getting difficult) And then I'm thinking they will want to have each section have it's own weight.. Requirements So there's the requirements - For n number of project Allow a admin member the ability select the questions for a project Allow the admin member to re-weigh or use the default weights for the questions Allow the admin member to re-weight the sections Allow team members to answer the questions.     Guys, I'm trying to understand the new arel engine in Rails 3 and I've got a question. I've got two models, User and Task class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :tasks end class Task < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user end here is my routes to imply the relation: resources :users do resources :tasks end and here is my Tasks controller: class TasksController < ApplicationController before_filter :load_user def new @task = @user.tasks.new end private def load_user @user = User.where(:id => params[:user_id]) end end Problem is, I get the following error when I try to invoke the new action: NoMethodError: undefined method `tasks' for #<ActiveRecord::Relation:0x3dc2488> I am sure my problem is with the new arel engine, does anybody understand what I'm doing wrong?   • Selection on table view causes parent view to change

    Hi there, I'm working on an iPad app and here's my scenario: I have a view which contains a table view inside of it. When the user selects an item on the table view, I would like the parent's view to change in a navigational manner. For those of you that have an iPad, this would be akin to the "Settings" app. But I guess in the "Settings" app, the right pane is composed of a grouped table view right?     Hi all, for a project we will be doing webbased certificate enrollment, in Vista / Win7 combination with IE this gives some problems if the user does not import the root certificate first and then changes a lot of default IE settings (Enable ActiveX not marked safe for scripting etc....). I was wondering if any of you ever created a test VB or Javascript to test that all the settings are OK. So it can be used by the user before he starts the enrollment process.... greetings, Tim

  • How to add a context processor from a Django app

    Say I'm writing a Django app, and all the templates in the app require a certain variable. The "classic" way to deal with this, afaik, is to write a context processor and add it to TEMPLATE_CONTEXT_PROCESSORS in the settings.py. My question is, is this the right way to do it, considering that apps are supposed to be "independent" from the actual project using them? In other words, when deploying that app to a new project, is there any way to avoid the project having to explicitly mess around with its settings?

  • ASP.NET inline code in a server control

    Ok, we had a problem come up today at work. It is a strange one that I never would have even thought to try. <form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %>" > Ok, it is very ugly and I wouldn't have ever tried it myself. It came up in some code that was written years ago but had been working up until this weekend after a bunch of updates were installed on a client's web server where the code is hosted. The actual result of this is the following html: <form name="form1" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=&lt;%= ID %>" id="form1"> The url ends up like this: http://localhost:6735/Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %> Which as you can see, demonstrates that the "<" symbol is being encoded before ASP.NET actually processes the page. It seems strange to me as I thought that even though it is not pretty by any means, it should work. I'm confused. To make matters worse, the client insists that it is a bug in IE since it appears to work in Firefox. In fact, it is broken in Firefox as well, except for some reason Firefox treats it as a 0. Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix it easily? Everything I try to render within the server control ends up getting escaped. Edit Ok, I found a "fix" <form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action='<%# String.Format("Default.aspx?id={0}", 5) %>' > But that requires me to call DataBind which is adding more of a hack to the original hack. Guess if nobody thinks of anything else I'll have to go with that.

    I'm developing a web app and testing on my iPhone 5 running iOS6. The app was running as a home screen app and during use requested access to the camera roll on the phone which I allowed, this has added a toggle in settings privacy photos on the phone for my web app. I've since abandoned this web app and deleted the home screen icon but the toggle still shows in the privacy settings, I'd like to remove this toggle but I can't seem to find a way to do so. Can anyone help?

I'm using an ORM in Kohana, but am hoping that a generalized understanding of how to solve this issue will lead me to an answer with the ORM. Do I have to add links, notes, and tags columns to the stocks table and then how do you call it? I know this differs using an ORM and I'd assume that I can use join tables in SQL.   • Drupal administration theme doesn't apply to Blocks pages (admin/build/block)

    A site I'm creating for a customer in D6 has various images overlaying parts of the main content area. It looks very pretty and they have to be there for the general effect. The problem is, if you use this theme in the administration pages, the images get in the way of everything. My solution was to create a custom admin theme, based on the default one, which has these image areas disabled in the output template files - page.tpl.php The problem is that when you try and edit the blocks page, it uses the default theme and half the blocks admin settings are unclickable behind the images. I KNOW this is by design in Drupal, but it's annoying the hell out of me and is edging towards "bug" rather than "feature" in my mind. It also appears that there is no way of getting around it. You can edit /modules/blocks/block.admin.inc to force Drupal to show the blocks page in the chosen admin theme.     If I create social portal similar to Twitter (not exactly twitter, but similar in my country), how much space would I need for images? I guess with 100 gb of disk space it won't be enough, so could you please give me some information how much I would exactly need? And is there any suggestions how should I add the profile images? Is there any tactics from programming side, when I could save some space uploading and hosting images for profile users? I guess, each time user changes images, it would be good to delete the previous image, correctly? In additional, how much disk space would be needed for 1000000 user profiles, if we have like 15 default images, and part of the users won't upload their own images, but use some of the default ones.
