  • Bootstrap - Typehead on multiple inputs

    I have two text intputs, both have to run an autocompletion. The site is using Bootstrap, and the « typeahead » component. I have this HTML : <input type="text" class="js_typeahead" data-role="artist" /> <input type="text" class="js_typeahead" data-role="location" /> I'm using the « data-role » attribute (that is sent to the Ajax controller as a $_POST index), in order to determine what kind of data has to be retrieved from the database. The Javascript goes this way : var myTypeahead = $('input.js_typeahead').typeahead({ source: function(query, process){ var data_role; data_role = myTypeahead.attr('data-role'); return $.post('/ajax/typeahead', { query:query,data_role:data_role },function(data){ return process(data.options); }); } }); With PHP, I check what $_POST['data-role'] contains, an run the MySQL query (in this case, a query either on a list of Artists, or a list of Locations). But the problem is the second "typeahead" returns the same values than the first one (list of Artists). I assume it's because the listener is attached to the object « myTypeahead », and this way the "data-role" attribute which is used, will always be the same. I think I could fix it by using something like : data_role = $(this).attr('data-role'); But of course this doesn't work, as it's a different scope. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong, but at least maybe you people could give me a hint. Sorry if this has already been discussed, I actually searched but without success.     Hi, im brand spanking new to WCF and Im trying to understand how to correctly expose my BLL to it. So I now need to access some information, I have created another .svc file called Project.svc and IProject.cs, this contains the same info as resource (apart from the type is Project) But this now means I have another webservice, surley this is not right!?

  • Laravel 4 - Using multiple paginators on one page

    I've been googling for this question but can't find any good answers. I found that there is a method called setPageName() for the paginator but it only works when used like Paginator::setPageName('page'). I looked up the paginator in the Laravel API (http://laravel.com/api/class-Illuminate.Pagination.Environment.html) and the method is a public function just like setBaseUrl which I am currently using like $albums->setBaseUrl('/album/'); for instance I want to have a Photo paginator (?photoPage=n) and a Comment paginator (?commentPage=n). Is there any way that I can use two paginators that use different page names in the URL on one page, or at least call the setPageName() method like setBaseUrl()?

  • Remove duplicate records/objects uniquely identified by multiple attributes

    I have a model called HeroStatus with the following attributes: id user_id recordable_type hero_type (can be NULL!) recordable_id created_at There are over 100 hero_statuses, and a user can have many hero_statuses, but can't have the same hero_status more than once. A user's hero_status is uniquely identified by the combination of recordable_type + hero_type + recordable_id. What I'm trying to say essentially is that there can't be a duplicate hero_status for a specific user. Unfortunately, I didn't have a validation in place to assure this, so I got some duplicate hero_statuses for users after I made some code changes. For example: user_id = 18 recordable_type = 'Evil' hero_type = 'Halitosis' recordable_id = 1 created_at = '2010-05-03 18:30:30' user_id = 18 recordable_type = 'Evil' hero_type = 'Halitosis' recordable_id = 1 created_at = '2009-03-03 15:30:00' user_id = 18 recordable_type = 'Good' hero_type = 'Hugs' recordable_id = 1 created_at = '2009-02-03 12:30:00' user_id = 18 recordable_type = 'Good' hero_type = NULL recordable_id = 2 created_at = '2009-012-03 08:30:00' (Last two are not a dups obviously. First two are.) So what I want to do is get rid of the duplicate hero_status. Which one? The one with the most-recent date. I have three questions: How do I remove the duplicates using a SQL-only approach? How do I remove the duplicates using a pure Ruby solution? Something similar to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2790004/removing-duplicate-objects. How do I put a validation in place to prevent duplicate entries in the future?

  • SQL string manipulation to return multiple rows

    I'm an experienced programmer, but relatively new to SQL. We're using Oracle 10 and 11. I have a system in place using SQL that combines actual rows with virtual rows (e.g. "SELECT 1 from DUAL") doing unions and intersects as needed, which all seems to work. My problem is that I need to combine this system which is expecting rows of data, with new data that will have the data in (let's say for simplification) comma delimited strings. So I think what I need is a way to convert a string like: "5,6,7,8" into 4 rows with one column each, with "5" in the first row, "6" in the second, etc. In other languages, I'd do a "Split" with comma as the delimiter. Of course, the data won't always have 4 entries. There's a second question, but I'll ask it separately. But I suspect it will simplify things, if possible, if the solution to the above could be used as a table in another SQL statement (i.e., to work with my existing system). Thanks for any help.

Or do I have to write a shell script with a loop?

  • Jquery autocomplete UI - No results on multiple fields

    Andrew's answer to my comment has sparked this question. According to his awesome answer in the link above, the code at the bottom of the question will only work for ONE widget. But it's killer nice code and makes sense... I guess I want the best of both worlds. Nice JS, (if that is possible) and to have the zero results show() just the element that we're using at the time. If I use the autocomplete text field, say 3 times, and i have 3 autocomplete instances on the page and the third one finds 0 results: The code will show() all 3 instances of the guest_investor_email text field, instead of just this one that is blank. QUESTION: How do i get something like jQuery(this).siblings(('span.guest_investor_email').show(); to work? this is an Object and not an array of elements to select. If it isn't with this I don't mind, as long as I know how to get at it. Thanks.   • Multiple use of a form before it is submitted

    I'm new to JavaScript, and trying to figure out the canonical way to do the following. I have a form with some checkboxes and a selector. Let's say the checkboxes are styles of music and the selector is for people's names. I'd like the user to be able to select the styles of music for each of the people's names and then submit the form with all of the data. For example, the user might first check off Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Pop and choose "Joe", then select Jazz, Pop, Country, and Electronica and choose "Jane". So there would have to be two different buttons for "submit person" and "submit form". I would like to: Have a list of the names and their chosen styles populate below the form, for feedback Allow the user to use the form as much as they want, and then submit all the data at the end I get the feeling that using jquery and JSON is perfect for this, but I'm not sure what search terminology to use to figure out how to do this. If it matters, the form will be processed by a Django view in Python.

  • Using same onmouseover function for multiple objects

    I'm creating a building game in JavaScript and PHP that involves a grid. I can sort of see why this is happening - it is making a pointer to x and y instead of cloning the variables - but how could I fix it?   • Form (or Formset?) to handle multiple table rows in Django

    Hi, I'm working on my first Django application. In short, what it needs to do is to display a list of film titles, and allow users to give a rating (out of 10) to each film. I've been able to use the {{ form }} and {{ formset }} syntax in a template to produce a form which lets you rate one film at a time, which corresponds to one row in a MySQL table, but how do I produce a form that iterates over all the movie titles in the database and produces a form that lets you rate lots of them at once? At first, I thought this was what formsets were for, but I can't see any way to automatically iterate over the contents of a database table to produce items to go in the form, if you see what I mean. Currently, my views.py has this code: def survey(request): ScoreFormSet = formset_factory(ScoreForm) if request.method == 'POST': formset = ScoreFormSet(request.POST, request.FILES) if formset.is_valid(): return HttpResponseRedirect('/') else: formset = ScoreFormSet() return render_to_response('cf/survey.html', { 'formset':formset, }) And my survey.html has this: <form action="/survey/" method="POST"> <table> {{ formset }} </table> <input type = "submit" value = "Submit"> </form> Oh, and the definition of ScoreForm and Score from models.py are: class Score(models.Model): movie = models.ForeignKey(Movie) score = models.IntegerField() user = models.ForeignKey(User) class ScoreForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Score So, in case the above is not clear, what I'm aiming to produce is a form which has one row per movie, and each row shows a title, and has a box to allow the user to enter their score.     Hi all, I currently have MySQL .NET Connector version 6.2.3 installed. I'd like to try out Database Manager from within IIS7, however, the dependency is on MySQL .NET Connector 5.2. When running the MySQL .NET Connector 5.2 installer, it says there's already an existing MySQL .NET Connector installed, and that this version can not be installed unless the other is uninstalled. Is there anyway to have both of these instances installed? Thanks! -Steve

The inserted widget has a somewhat complicated layout, so I am trying to define it in HTML. referencePanel.add(...) fails with NoSuchElement exception. reference.getElement().toSource returns "undefined".     I have a mac and a macbook, and one iPhone device and want to develop on both systems. My enrollment type is individual. How am I able to install the developer certificate and provisioning profiles on both machines? On the macbook it says 'a valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain'. In my keychain I have a 'green status' for my developer certificate and in the xcode organizer for my device as well.

I saw people use the ";" to separate parameters in other posts for the String and File class, but nothing with primitives like integer. What would be the correct way to do this please? Thank you.

    Hello, I have a window that has two layers: a static background and a foreground that contains moving objects. My idea is to draw the background just once (because it's not going to change), so I make the changing panel transparent and add it on top of the static background. Can somebody show me what's wrong? FYI I am using the javax.swing.Timer to recalculate and repaint the changing panel 24 times every second.

    Hello, Sometimes I break long conditions in IFs to several lines. The most obvious way to do this is: if (cond1 == 'val1' and cond2 == 'val2' and cond3 == 'val3' and cond4 == 'val4'): do_something Isn't very very appealing visually, because the action blends with the conditions. However, it is the natural way using correct Python indentation of 4 spaces. Edit: By the way, for the moment I'm using: if ( cond1 == 'val1' and cond2 == 'val2' and cond3 == 'val3' and cond4 == 'val4'): do_something Not very pretty, I know :-) Can you recommend an alternative way ?

Is this the wrong way of going about creating wires and them using them?
